Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come
to pass from this world to the Father.
He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end.
The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over.
So, during supper,
fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power
and that he had come from God and was returning to God,
he rose from supper and took off his outer garments.
He took a towel and tied it around his waist.
Then he poured water into a basin
and began to wash the disciples’ feet
and dry them with the towel around his waist.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him,
“Master, are you going to wash my feet?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“What I am doing, you do not understand now,
but you will understand later.”
Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered him,
“Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.”
Simon Peter said to him,
“Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.”
Jesus said to him,
“Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed,
for he is clean all over;
so you are clean, but not all.”
For he knew who would betray him;
for this reason, he said, “Not all of you are clean.”
So when he had washed their feet
and put his garments back on and reclined at table again,
he said to them, “Do you realize what I have done for you?
You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am.
If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet,
you ought to wash one another’s feet.
I have given you a model to follow,
so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”
Today, Holy Thursday, the Institution of the priesthood and Eucharist, Jesus gives us the first Mass. In John’s Gospel, he does not use the words of institution but rather focuses on the washing of the disciples feet. Jesus provides a model that mirrors the crucifixion. The lowliest Jewish slave did not wash his master’s feet. This symbolizes the crucifixion. Some scripture scholar’s believe the washing of the feet symbolizes baptism. The teaching Christ is handing on to us is to be selfless. “There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for one’s friends.” JN 15:13
God became a Man to show us how much God loves us, to redeem us by giving His own life up to atone for every sin, and be a model of holiness. This is true love. There is no greater love. This is what our hearts are truly yearning for. We are fulfilled when we are selfless and give up ourselves for the other, when we learn to serve. Enter each room asking how you can help. Get off of our screens and spend time with humans giving and receiving. Sacrifice what you want for the benefit of the other. At the heart of Holy Thursday, Jesus teaches us to be other-centered. It takes a life time, a vocation, and training our mind to wake each day and be other-centered. If you make this choice, the rewards are eternal!
Today’s challenge: Take time to go to watch the Easter Triduum, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, the three highest days on all of the Church calendar. How did these events change YOUR life forever and all of human history? If it is all about another long weekend to spend more time on yourself, what are your priorities? Jesus opens wide His heart for you, gives up His life for you, and desires a personal relationship with you. The hardest part, you have to CHANGE! We hate change and we are afraid. Ask God for His grace, it transforms what sin has damaged.
Be a servant, become a saint!

I can apply this to my life by remembering that God did everything for us. He died for us and forgave us from all of our sins.
In this scripture reflection it is telling us to treat others how you want to be treated. And also to spend time with our family
I can apply this to my life by being example of Christ.
the gospel today tells us about how Jesus washes the feet of his disciples and gives us an example to fallow and is telling us to help others.
God became man so he can save us and show us how much he cares about us.
this is saying that God became man to help us and sacrificed him self just for us. even though we have done bad things he still loves us.
Role model: Some one you look up too. In his childhood, St. Philip Neri had looked up to his wealthy uncle. He wanted to be like him. Ironically, in his future he wrote, “Children in these times should avoid looking up to laziness.” Meaning, “Children shouldn’t look up to wealthy, noble things in life.” You have heard me say this over and over again, but, “Money is the most evil thing in the world.” (St. Paul). It wasn’t until St. Philip started giving money to the church that he realized that they weren’t using it for themselves. He even asked for the money back. He was told that they were given to the poor and the homeless. He converted immediately back to the Christian way of life, and he started looking up to Jesus. Jesus gives himself to be our model, so all of us should look up to him in the same way.
In today’s Gospel it teaches us about Jesus first Mass. How lucky we are to celebrate his Mass every day if we choose. Jesus truly loves us he died on the cross for our sins so that one day we can go to heaven. He is our almighty father. He wouldn’t have died on the cross for us if he didn’t love us so much. He loves us so much so we need to take the time and talk to him every day and show him how much we love him
To apply this to my life I can put myself below someone else and do something for someone else.
To apply this to my life I can put myself below someone else and do something for someone else!
In today’s Gospel, Jesus, who is literally God himself, is washing the disciples’ feet. If Jesus wanted, he could have had angels come down to wash the disciples’ feet, but instead he does it himself. Jesus is setting an example for us. Not only to treat others like royalty, but also not to give into the sin of laziness. It’s extremely easy to sit on the couch and do nothing all day, especially now in this time of quarantine. But is that what Jesus did? Did he tell his angels to wash his feet, to clean up after him, to take him down from the cross? No, of course not! He was a hard-working and honest man. He’s setting an example for us, and the importance of hard-work. Downtime is a good thing, and we can’t always be running at 100% all the time, but that doesn’t give us an excuse to do it all the time. We still have responsibilities and things we have to do. So we need to make sure to have a balance between work and rest to avoid the sin of laziness.
I can apply this to my life by knowing God will always love me and everyone else, because he gave up the most valuable things someone can give. And he did it for us.
I can apply this to my life by praying for change and the coming of Jesus this Easter
This Gospel teaches me about Jesus and the first Mass. We need to understand how lucky we are to have the Mass and we should thank God for giving it to us.
God does everything for a reason and we should listen to him.
If we want to be good people we should be humble. Jesus Christ was so humble that he God made himself human same as all of us. He continues to humble himself even farther by washing the feet of the disciples in preparation for humbling himself even more by dying on the cross. Being crucified one of the most shameful deaths. To then humble himself beyond imagination. To make him appear to the unfaithful as a “magic cracker” he is so loving that he humbles himself all the way down to Bread and Wine
Never put others below you, even though Jesus is God, he sees us as the same level as him.
When Jesus could have had anything done at the snap of a finger he still washed the disciples’ feet and died on a cross.
We should put others above us so we become more humble.
I can apply this to my life because remembering God has done for us.
I think this passage is telling me to be humble. Humility is how we can all become friends.
