Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers,
and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught.
The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!”
Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet! Come out of him!”
The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him.
All were amazed and asked one another,
“What is this?
A new teaching with authority.
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.”
His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee. MK 1:21-28

As we move back into Ordinary Time, the Gospel shifts to Jesus’s missionary life.  His life was hidden from age 12 to 30. After His baptism, anointed by God for a special mission, as we all are at our baptisms, He sets out to teach.  The people are amazed because He teaches with authority.  He casts out demons.  Even the demons proclaim who Jesus is, “I know who you are-the Holy One of God!”  Jesus became Man to die for us, to show us the love the Father has for each of us, and to be a model of holiness for us.  He came to teach us Truth, the Word of God.  The people are amazed because it is not words from humans, but from God.  Are you a good listener?  Do you have a great love for learning?  If not, it will be difficult to come to know who God is.  God is trying to tell us something.

Today’s challenge: As a young person be a sponge and learn as much as you can, especially soak up as much knowledge as you can about God every day for the rest of your life.

Be a servant, become a saint!
