Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Since the children share in blood and Flesh,
Jesus likewise shared in them,
that through death he might destroy the one
who has the power of death, that is, the Devil,
and free those who through fear of death
had been subject to slavery all their life.
Surely he did not help angels
but rather the descendants of Abraham;
therefore, he had to become like his brothers and sisters in every way,
that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest before God
to expiate the sins of the people.
Because he himself was tested through what he suffered,
he is able to help those who are being tested.  HEB 2:14-18

On leaving the synagogue
Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John.
Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever.
They immediately told him about her.
He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up.
Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

When it was evening, after sunset,
they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons.
The whole town was gathered at the door.
He cured many who were sick with various diseases,
and he drove out many demons,
not permitting them to speak because they knew him.

Rising very early before dawn,
he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.
Simon and those who were with him pursued him
and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.”
He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages
that I may preach there also.
For this purpose have I come.”
So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons
throughout the whole of Galilee.  MK 1:29-39

Jesus came to conquer death and sin to set us free.  He came to preach.  He came to teach us to take care of those in need.  He teaches us to rise early and stay up late to pray.  Today, He reveals to us that He also came to suffer with us, “Because he himself was tested through what he suffered,
he is able to help those who are being tested.”
My cousin Pete was struggling with back issues to the point that he could not walk, when the doctor did an MRI on him they found a baseball size tumor on one kidney and Stage 4 cancer in him. He has gone through a few rounds of chemo and it is helping but now he needs to have surgery on his spine.  His spine suffered from the other problems and they will have to put rods in his back.  His wife just had twins as they learned of all of this, there 5th and 6th child.  Please storm heaven and pray for Pete and his family.  I don’t know anything about going through cancer, but I believe in my heart that Jesus does understand our suffering.  Many of the saints suffered great illnesses, their amazing witness to Christ is that they still found joy in their suffering.  How?  God promised that if we offer our suffering up with Christ’s we can be purified.  Our suffering can be offered for the salvation of our soul and others’ souls.  Amazing!  If we are taken to the Lord earlier in life, we must not forget that we will get to spend eternity with our families.  Hopefully, this will inspire them to fight for their salvation even more to be with those we lose early in life.  Everything we suffer on earth will seem like a cough due cold compared to the joy, peace, and glory of being with God forever-Peter Kreeft

Today’s challenge:  Whatever you are suffering little or big, Jesus is carrying you, come to Him and offer up your suffering with His.  Christ gave purpose to suffering, so we can experience joy amidst our suffering.  Give it to Him!  Every second God gives us to live is a blessing, live with passion and purpose.

Be a servant, become a saint!
