Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

R. (3) If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, who can stand?
Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
LORD, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to my voice in supplication.
R. If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, who can stand?
If you, O LORD, mark iniquities,
LORD, who can stand?
But with you is forgiveness,
that you may be revered.
R. If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, who can stand?
I trust in the LORD;
my soul trusts in his word.
My soul waits for the LORD
more than sentinels wait for the dawn.
Let Israel wait for the LORD.
R. If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, who can stand?
For with the LORD is kindness
and with him is plenteous redemption;
And he will redeem Israel
from all their iniquities.
R. If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, who can stand?  Psalm 130:1-8

“If you forgive men their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.” MT 6:15

“If we fail to forgive, we are rejecting our own faith.” -Fr. Kapaun

Today’s psalm and the end of the Our Father prayer on Tuesday are great reminders that God does not write all of our prayers down and hold grudges to retaliate against us and have the last word.  Today’s Gospel is about how to handle the normal human emotion of anger and that with God’s grace we can learn from our anger and grow in holiness.  Personally, I think forgiveness is the hardest thing for me to do.  I am so prideful.  I think it makes me look weak.  It worries me what the other person will say.  In marriage, I have learned to forgive better, it took about 12 years to figure it out or finally give up my pride.  Forgiveness is never easy, but necessary for us to enter into the Kingdom.  If we do not forgive, our heavenly Father will not forgive us, Jesus can’t lie.  This is powerful!

Today’s challenge: Stop holding grudges.  Ask God to help you learn how to forgive, it takes His grace to accomplish it. Experience the unchained feeling you get when you need to forgive that has been weighing on your shoulders and heart for so long.

Be a servant, become a saint!
