Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

When Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, he said to them:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master
nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.
If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.
I am not speaking of all of you.
I know those whom I have chosen.
But so that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
The one who ate my food has raised his heel against me.
From now on I am telling you before it happens,
so that when it happens you may believe that I AM.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send
receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”  JN 13:16-20

Jesus the God Man is washing His Apostles feet.  The Creator of all that is who created out of nothing.  The One who is everywhere all of the time.  The One who thinks about you constantly and loves you infinitely.  He is washing His Apostles feet and then says, “no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him”.  God the Son loves the Father so much, He washes the Apostles feet, institutes the Eucharist to stay hidden behind bread and wine for us until He returns, then goes through an unbearable Passion, and dies for us all in doing the Father’s will so we could be back with the Father in heaven.  ”If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.”  Do you understand that God created you and loves you more than you love yourself or anyone in this world?  Do you understand what true love is?  It is not of this world it comes from above.  Have you lost the Passion of Christ in Lent?  Have you already forgotten what He did for us?  Have you made a fast or sacrifice since Lent?  We must be reminded of God’s great love for us.  Jesus emptied Himself and became a slave for the Father and all humanity to reconcile us back to the Father.  We must empty ourselves, put on Christ, and go out into the world and love by serving others and not being selfish.  Amazing, Jesus who is God washes the Apostle’s feet!  Master’s rarely even asked their slaves to do this.  God loves us so much and brings His grace and mercy to the greatest sinners through His Son.

Today’s challenge: Wash someone’s feet who is the least among you.  Who is the outcast in your class?  Who is different than everyone else?  Who is going through the most in their family?  Go wash their feet, a.k.a., comfort them, talk to them, invite them to something.
