Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
When Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, he said to them:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master
nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.
If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.
I am not speaking of all of you.
I know those whom I have chosen.
But so that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
The one who ate my food has raised his heel against me.
From now on I am telling you before it happens,
so that when it happens you may believe that I AM.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send
receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.” JN 13:16-20
Jesus the God Man is washing His Apostles’ feet. The Creator of all that is who created out of nothing. The One who is everywhere all of the time. The One who thinks about you constantly, loves you infinitely and delights in you. He is washing His Apostles’ feet and then says, “no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him”. God the Son loves the Father so much, He washes the Apostles feet, institutes the Eucharist to stay hidden behind bread and wine for us until He returns, then goes through an unbearable Passion, and dies for us all in doing the Father’s will so we could be back with the Father in heaven. ”If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.”
Do we understand that God created us and loves us more than we love ourselves? Do we understand what true love is? It is not of this world it comes from above. Have we lost the Passion of Christ in Lent? Have we already forgotten what He did for us? Have we made a fast or sacrifice since Lent? We must be reminded of God’s great love for us. Jesus emptied Himself and became a slave for the Father and all humanity to reconcile us back to the Father. We must empty ourselves, put on Christ, and go out into the world and love by serving others and not being selfish.
Amazing, Jesus who is God washes the Apostles’ feet! Master’s rarely even asked their slaves to do this. God loves us so much and brings His grace and mercy to the greatest sinners through His Son. In simpler terms, Jesus died so we could inherit the Kingdom, but here on earth He simply wants to be best friends with us and eat with us at table, listen and talk to us in prayer, and give us joy and peace now! Let Him come to you and go to Him in every moment of everyday.
Today’s challenge: Wash someone’s feet who is the least among you. Who is the outcast in your class? Who is different than everyone else? Who is going through the most in their family? Go wash their feet, a.k.a., comfort them, talk to them, invite them to something.

Be a servant, become a saint!
No Bible no breakfast, No Bible no bed. -Fr. Larry Richards
Get caught reading the Bible! Get caught kneeling by your bed! Get caught saying a rosary! You might just inspire someone and change their life forever!
In this passage we hear Jesus washing the Apostles feet. That is just crazy to think about. And that is what is so special about Jesus, he wants that personal relationship with us and wants to get to know us. Just like him we should find ways we can be humble and help others out who may need it.
Jesus is God and the most powerful person to ever exist, but even so, he washed the feet of his friends. this teaches us to be humble
I can apply this to my life by going out and talking with people who maybe don’t have many friends or get made fun of and be there friend
We can only be as good as God and he is amazing. We will never reach perfect, there is always room to improve. We have to continue to grow in faith and never give in to the temptations of the devil.
This Gospel reveals to me that the life of service is the WAY. Jesus says whoever serves shall be served. Jesus came into the world as a humble person and he taught others to serve. All of us are called to be servants of Christ in our own ways. Simple acts of kindness like giving food to the homeless or helping old people cross the street – all these things will greatly please the Lord.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is washing the Apostles feet, which is so strange to me because He is so holy and divine. It really shows how much he loves and sort of foreshadows the Passion of Christ. He sits at their feet and washes away the dirt and nastiness, just like He will wash away the sin from our soul.
To me, this is saying that when we receive the Eucharist we are truly receiving Jesus Christ .
Jesus is God. No other “god” has become human then went and washed his followers feet. Jesus is living a humble life of service he becomes man and washes the feet of others. God is washing peoples feet God is getting crucified on a cross God made everything. We are called to live a life of service.
I can apply this to my life after I receive Jesus in the Eucharist by going out and helping my family with household chores like doing the dishes, folding my other family members laundry, and by helping with yard work.
To me, this is saying that when we receive the Eucharist it is truly Jesus Christ .
We go through a process during our life. On earth, we are “slaves” (he gave us free will, if he didn’t, we would have to do everything he said) to God. In Purgatory (or people who are waiting for heaven) we are servants to the Lord. But then in heaven, Jesus calls us his friend. I think I like that.
God created us and loves us more than we love ourselves and he is teaching us that whoever is sent will never be greater than the one who sent. He wants us to be less selfish and start helping others around us and to “wash their feet”
This scripture is talking about how he has chosen some of the apostles to receive him and to be given his grace. I can reflect on this reading by helping others and listening to whatever God says I need to do.
We need to be more like Christ. He washed his apostles feet for them, master’s barely asked their slaves to do that. If Jesus can do that we can talk to the outcast, we can comfort them, we can invite them to come hang out with you. We can and need to do better as people.
What sticks out to me in this Gospel, is that Jesus actually washed his Apostles’ feet. Jesus, who is literally God, became our servant, to save us. We should be the one serving Jesus and God, but here is Jesus, washing our feet. It’s crazy how much Jesus loves us, yet how little we sometimes love him. We all need to start learning how to love better, and to give back to our God.
I think the scripture is trying to teach us how Jesus was sent by God the Father to help us. Jesus is sent to us today through the scripture and the Eucharist so that we can receive him. If we are able to fully comprehend this, then we will be blessed. It goes on to say that whoever receives Jesus in their lives will receive God, We must accept Jesus on this Earth, through said scripture and Eucharist, so that we may receive God fully in Heaven.
One thing that I can take away from this scripture passage, is to remember that the world does not revolve around me, and that I will be truly happy when I become selfless and truly humble myself. Unlike many other kings, rulers, and people of power, Jesus did not come down to earth and demand to be adored and served, on the contrary he came to serve us, and he put everyone else above himself. I think that this is what every human heart longs for, and that we will not experience true joy until we act like Jesus in this way.
Jesus is washing the apostle’s feet like how he washes away our sins. Master’s rarely even asked their slaves to do this.
Jesus humbled Himself. Jesus is literally the Son of God but He didn’t go around parading how powerful and great He is. He came into the world as a helpless little baby and even in adulthood He washed the feet of His disciples. We must be like Jesus and put others first so we can get to the Father.
Even when we don’t like someone we should always be nice and take care of everyone. Just like Jesus took care of all the sinners. We should always be proud to be praying. It doesn’t matter when or where you are praying, but it always matters that we do pray.
My translation to the gospel is a kind of rough translation. “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him”. No one is greater than God. If we carefully see this passage, we realize that Jesus is a messenger. Is Jesus greater than the one who sent him? Jesus is one of the same- the second person of the trinity. “But so that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
The one who ate my food has raised his heel against me”. Jesus tells the others that Judas will betray him in a ploy of his own. “From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I AM. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.” Jesus sees their skeptical minds, and he explains what he meant “nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him”. We receive Jesus on the Eucharist. “whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”
I can apply this to my life by, helping out the people that are poor and what i mean by this is. When Jesus washed peoples feet who were slaves that were under their master.
We can take away from this that we are supposed to help each other get to heaven. We’re not supposed to just stand around, or lower other peoples’ self esteem. God put us around the people we are with for a reason.
I can reflect this on my life by knowing every time I receive the Host I receive the entire trinity.
God created us and yet is still humble. His own Son that we kill from our sin washes our feet and teaches us to humble ourselves. How God and Jesus are so humble is beyond me but we have to learn how to be like that.
In the Gospel today, we find out that God is so humble that not only does he become one of us, he washes our feet as well. I can apply this to my life by being humble like God.
This gospel is saying that we need to be kind to everyone even if we don’t like them that much.
Jesus is washing the Apostles feet. In most ways, this is a way of showing that you are a servant to that person whose feet you’re washing. Jesus wants to show us how to act. We cannot be afraid to do menial tasks that feel like we shouldn’t be the one doing them. Look at Jesus. He is the King of kings, yet he is coming down to wash our feet, to serve us humbly. This is incredible. We have to learn from Jesus’ example, and become a humble servant to others, and help them get to Heaven.
I think this reading is talking about how when we receive the Eucharist we receive Jesus. And if we receive Jesus knowing its his, we will one day reach the kingdom of heaven. I can apply this to my every day life by when i go to mass and receive Jesus, I can understand how i just took in the living God. I can also spend time in prayer to become closer to him.
If Jesus can humble himself and serve others, why cant we? He is literally Christ and he washed his disciples feet. We are called to serve God and others. Jesus loved others so much he washed their feet, so why can’t we humble ourselves and serve him.
in today’s Gospel we should all learn that Jesus is our master. He is our boss anything we do we need to make sure that it is something Jesus would want. He also says that whoever receives the one I send receives me. This is important because when we receive the Eucharist we receive Jesus inside of us when he is truly present. He is so powerful he can do anything all we have to do is look up to him and talk to him everyday and pray to him everyday. He loves us so much and we need to love him so much back.
I think that today’s scripture is a reminder that we are all made in God’s image. As a society, we tend to establish groups and judge people by race, class, etc. God made us all in His divine image. If we are all good enough for the Lord, then we are surely good enough for each other. We should be coming together and working with the Holy Spirit and Jesus to evangelize instead of separating and judging every little detail about every person.
What I think about when I read this scripture passage is that God did bot come down as a big and powerful king and led his big army to battle but he came as a baby. The weakest thing he could become he became for us and when he was washing his disciples face no other person who had all the powers in the world would stop and wash their followers feet clean. This also tells me that God doesn’t want to have a relationship with us that eels like it is super far way but right here in your heart and in your life. That is why he made the sacraments so that he can always be with us.
What i got from today’s Scripture is that Jesus put us on this planet to either choose the will of God or to not follow him. We have to except him and follow his teachings here on earth, so we can ultimately get to Heaven and live in eternal happiness.
Jesus was so humble that he, the Son of the living God, washed to the apostles feet. This is how we should strive to be. Us as humans fall everyday to sin. We need to be like Jesus, where we do not judge, ridicule or belittle others.
I can apply this to my life by being more helpful. In the Gospel, it says that Jesus washed the Apostles’ feet. We can do the same in many different ways. For instance, we can simply open the door for someone or donate old clothes to charities. By doing something for others, we are following Christ’s example.
I can apply this scripture to my life by looking out for others just like Jesus did. We can help others be more happy and comfort them. Jesus did all kinds of things and I think we should try our bests to do the same.
Everyone is creates equal. In the gospel it says “nor any messenger greater then the man who sent him”. jesus is God messenger.
I can apply this to my life by going out and and make friends with people who are lonely. I can help the people that are poor.
Jesus the son of GOD washed the apostles feet. He loves us so much, more than we could ever imagine. He sacrificed himself for our sins, for us. NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THAT! He loves us enough to do that for us, for you, for me. And even with all he did for us and still does for us we still aren’t fully appreciative of how great God is. God loves us so much and its amazing how great our God is.
Jesus tells us that to make it to Heaven we must serve others. Serve the ones that serve us. Make sacrifices for the ones that make sacrifices for us. “God knew that if he wanted to treat Barabbas like Jesus, he would have to treat Jesus like Barabbas.”
Jesus did not come down to earth to be served, but to serve. Jesus didn’t walk around telling that He was God and everyone should serve and worship him. God served others because He loves us always.
I can apply this to my life by remembering all the God has done for us. He saved us from our sins and we need to worship and spread the good news. He sacrificed himself to save us and I am forever thankful for God.
Jesus is washing the disciples feet, but the disciples should be washing jesus’ feet. Jesus puts himself under the disciples.
Jesus is the most powerful being in the world and even then he still washed his disciples feet. It shows that all creation is equal and we’re all the same.
What I learned from this scripture reflection is that even though Jesus is the son of God he makes himself less than us even though he is much higher and deserves so much more.
The son of God washed his Apostles’ feet. That just goes to show just how humble he is.
In the gospel we hear about Jesus washing the apostles feet. What I can take away from the gospel is to serve and not to be served.
Even though Jesus is the most powerful person ever he washed his friends feet and anointed them. And we can do the same by doing chores with out being told to.
What I can take away from this scripture passage is that when I receive communion I am really receiving God.And whoever receives the Gospel message is also receiving him.
This made me realize that even if we believe we have to give ourselves a reminder weather its the bible on the pillow or praying when we first get up. Jesus shows us a perfect example when he washes other peoples feet even though he is literally God. He gives to those below him. He gave himself up completely for us.
This teaches us that we still need to serve others no matter what or who we are, Jesus is God almighty and he washed peoples feet. We need to learn that we are here on this earth to serve others.
God love us, more than we could imagine. His live is greated than anything in our entire universe, nothing is greater than he is. We couldn’t do anything for him not to love us.
Jesus came down to Earth to serve us and then die for our sins. He says that no slave is greater that the master. He is saying that no matter what he does, the heavenly father created everything, including him, and that is the one and only God that has ever been, the only that there is, and the only God we will ever have.
In this scripture passage, Jesus is washing his disciples’ feet. The King of heaven is washing his friends’ feet. By doing this, Jesus shows us humility. He shows us that we have to make sacrifices and be humble. I can apply this by not being a show off and not being afraid to make sacrifices.
In the gospel, Jesus is washing the desciples feet, which is crazy to think about because He’s the Son of God, he can do anything, smite anyone. Yet he chooses to wash peoples feet, we need to be like Jesus and comfort others, and help them in their time of need. We need to wash others’ feet, (comfort them, help them, etc.) especially those in need.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that even though he is fully divine, he washed the apostles feet. He did this to show us how to be humble.
Jesus was very humble, he didn’t brag about how He is the Holy Son of God. He stayed humble and ate with the poor, with the neglected. We need to be more like him.
The scripture is telling us that we arent better than other people, we are all made equally in God’s eyes, and no person is greater than another. We should treat others that way, and we need to treat God’s creation how we would want to be treated.
In the scripture pasage Jesus is washing the feet of the apostles, the son of God washing the feet of meer pesants, but this is what God wants us to do. He wants us to go and help anyone, rich, poor, or struggling. We all could accept some help even if we think we don’t need it. God wants us to help everyone we can whenever we can, no matter who they are. Help your friends, enemies, and all in between, we all could use the help.
Jesus is washing the feet of the apostles. He’s washing away the dirt from their feet. He does the same thing, but just with our souls. We go to church and confessions to keep our souls clean and pure.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is showing how truly divine he is. He is the way, the truth, and the life, son of the living God, yet he gets down on his hands and knees to wash his Apostles Feet. His small act of service is telling us that we need to do the same. We need our souls to be washed by Jesus, but we can’t do so without having a relationship with him. We need to pray, go to daily mass, and truly adore him, because without doing all of these things, we will still have the nastiness sins on our souls, just like the Apostles had before Jesus washed them clean.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send
receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”
This saying REALLY stuck out to me. What I think Jesus is saying is that whoever he sends to get us to Heaven, receives (sees) him in Heaven, and whoever receives Jesus will meet God face to face. We can do this by going to Church, talking, praying, following the commandments, and anything we need do as Catholics to lead us to Heaven.
In this passage we hear Jesus washing the apostles feet and to just have him do that i could never imagine. I just think of him kneeling down to wash my feet when i should be the one kneeling at his. He is the most holy and most high and i just think that is crazy he would take the time to do such a thing when he could be doing so much more.
In this scripture, Jesus is washing his disciples feet that are dirty. this reminds me of when we go to confession our souls are dirty and he is cleaning our souls.
Jesus has done so much for us. He has a plan for us. if we listen, he’ll show us the way. God is love. We are called to serve him.
In this gospel Jesus is saying that we have to become the lowest of the low, because if we do not humble ourselves we can not be servants of God. And there is no point in life but to be a servant of God.
Jesus says, “If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.” He wants us to serve others as Father Kapaun and His other disciples did. But then he says, “I am not speaking of all of you.
I know those whom I have chosen.” Not all of us are chosen for the same thing. In fact, every single one of us is meant to do something different than those around us. Jesus knows who He has chosen to serve others.
When Jesus washed the feet of the apostles He was showing us that He will be our friend. Normal masters don’t wash their servants feet but have them wash theirs but Jesus did not. Jesus wants to show us that we can get rid of our uncleanliness if we go to him in confession and to know God more than we did before.
This scripture is telling me that even who we are if we are rich or poor we still have to do good deeds or dirty work like Jesus did. Jesus came down and washed his friends feet even though he is the son of God.
This shows that good truly loves us and he will do any thing to show it
Today in the gospel, Jesus wipes the feet of his disciples. Jesus points out that no slave is greater than his master. Jesus wants us to understand that no person is greater than another. He shows this by doing something that no person would think the highest of them all should do. Jesus is the humble way of life and I can apply this to my life by following that.
In the Gospel it tells us that Jesus washed is apostles feet. The fact that he is the greatest in the world an he is humble enough to bow down and wash his apostles feet is amazing. The fact that he is humble enough to do so, makes me think that I need to be more humble. If God himself is willing to wash the feet of is apostles, then this teaches me that i need to be more humble.
The Savior of humanity is washing sinners feet. Today we are so prideful and complain when we have to do anything. But, if the Creator of everything will get down on his hands and knees to wash the feet of His friends why do we not like to help. I feel like in the Gospels Jesus does little things so we will notice and do them to get to heaven.
When Jesus says “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.” He says that no person is better than another person. We all have that same value to God, because we are all made in his image.
In today’s gospel, Jesus washes the feet of his friends. Seeing Jesus, the most powerful human being washing the feet of others? Masters would never wash their servants feet, but why would Jesus? Jesus is showing us that he will help us when we call to him. Jesus will show us the way and will lead us to heaven.
In this reading Jesus says “no slave is greater than his master.” He is saying that us as humans will never be greater than Him. He tells us that He is the one that God has sent down to save us.
Jesus has sacrificed so much for us and everyday we live is a blessing from him and what I understand most from this Gospel message is that we have to throw our pride out and take up our own cross because Jesus says, “I know whom I have chosen, and whoever receives the one whom I send receives me.” We need Jesus he does not need us and so we need to sacrifice like Jesus did for us and it starts with the little blessings he gives us each and every day.
In this Scripture it sounds like Peter is the one God sends out when he said that he would defy against knowing him three times and makes me think that Peter told people about God. This also mentions that people will eat the Eucharist which is Jesus and is what we do in Mass and we most likely wouldn’t have Mass if Peter didn’t spread the word of God and done what Jesus told him to do.
What stood out to me in today’s gospel is that Jesus is washing the disciples feet. If Jesus is really the Son of God, why should He be washing our feet? Peter asks Jesus “Master, are you going to wash my feet?” and Jesus tells Peter that he does not understand now but will understand later. Peter says that Jesus will never wash his feet because he is not worthy of Jesus to do such a thing, and Jesus responds, “Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” I can apply this to my life by being caring and loving to other people.
I can apply this scripture to my life by serving the people around me, just like Jesus did in today’s Gospel. Jesus could do whatever he wanted, but he chose to serve his disciples and all of us. So if I need to serve all of the other people around me to get closer to Jesus and to be more like Jesus.
Everyone is created equal. There is no one person that should ever be more important than the other. Try to be give yourself up for the other, not only it will give you a good feeling, but because it is simply the right thing to do.
Jesus loves us so more than you will ever know. Jesus died the most painful death a human can die just to prove a point, and that point that he was trying to prove is that he loves you. If Jesus loves us so much than we should do something for him. We can help some one out just like Jesus did to the apostles.
This shows that God truly loves us and he will do any thing to show it.
This tells me that even though we see God as a piece of bread and he is so much more him being in our hands shows us so much.
I think that this reading is a prophecy for the Jews of Jesus’s time as well as it is for us today. For the Jews it was prophesying Jesus’s resurrection but for us I think that it is telling us about the Holy Spirit. When Jesus says, “Whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me,” he is saying that by knowing the Holy Spirit we will come into a relationship with the Father and the Son. If we were to learn anything from this reading it would be that we need to have a good, holy relationship with all of the three persons of the Trinity.
I can apply this to my life by providing for the poor. i can make donations to food banks.
This shows us that God loves us so much and he would do anything.
God is saying that you are not better than me. You can’t be better than the one that taught them. This is why God is the the creator.
It says that the ones created in God’s image are perfect, and it put an image in my mind that it is great because God created us in his own likeness and those who don’t see that are not loving God’s creation.
To me this is telling me that when we receive the Eucharist we are really receiving the one and living God, He is always here with us and is always present.
Jesus washed the Apostles feet. He did this because he loved them with all his heart and he loves everyone the same and has a plan for everyone in their life.
Hearing about Jesus wash his disciples feet sounds as crazy as the disciples reacted. It makes perfect since why he did it, he couldn’t order people around without doing these things himself. I think Jesus is going to be there to help us like he did the apostles. Jesus is showing you need to be humble, if God can get down and wash someone’s feet, so can you.
God has a plan for us and we need to follow his path for us. We can’t just go about thinking that we can do whatever we want with out lives and not even care. The path that we follow to God is going to be our path for the rest of our lives so we can’t ruin it but doing whatever we want.
This is telling me that God loves us so much and will do anything to prove it.
This is telling me that Jesus came to serve not be served. He is being our example to us, and showing us the Way. For while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. (He served us)
In todays scripture God is showing are true love to us by washing are feet
In the gospel, Jesus washes the feet of his Apostles. It’s something like a master washing the feet of his servants. This is something that’s almost unheard of. I think it’s telling us that we need to humble ourselves. Sometimes, we act as our own God, or have other objects as God. We need to be like the servant that washes the feet of the master, Jesus.
I think this is reminding us that God is above all else, and we will be much greater if we follow him.
What I got from the scripture today is that God put us on earth to follow him or not care about him. What I can take away from this scripture is that we need to bring people back to the faith or get more people to believe in him.
If Jesus, the King of all Kings, is washing a sinner’s feet, then we should be too! Jesus in today’s Gospel is trying to teach us humility and how to treat others how we would like to be treated. We are so selfish, and we need to start being more selfless. We need to help those in need. Even if they are sinners, or those we don’t like. Sinners are still people and they need help, and we need to help them, even if we don’t want to and even if we think they don’t deserve it. God wants us to love all as He loves us, even when we sin.
He is saying that I will teach you all that i know so you may be equal and we shall know each other.
We are not better than God, for we were made by Him. We are His servants. We need Him, but He doesn’t need us. But because we were made by Him and he is love, our purpose is to love, not to hate, not to accuse, but to truly love. If we love we will always have Him by us. That is what He promised us. ‘Blessed are they who a persecuted.’ that is what He said, and His word is law, not just any law, but THE law, and his word is truth. If you follow His law, you will receive no less than what He promised.
This scripture reveals that Jesus is more than willing to do anything out of the kindness of his heart. We can’t be better than the one who made us who we are. He is above all, He just wants us to be equals. He even showed this by washing His own disciple’s feet. He is present through bread and wine, and this is what Jesus says about it, “Whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”
Today Jesus is telling us about his nature. He is saying how no slave is greater than his master and how no messenger is greater than the one who sent him. And the person he is talking about is God. He’s saying that he is no greater than God, but that he is equal. He is proving that he isn’t a mini-God, but that he is God himself, flesh incarnate. There is also something odd here, it says that Jesus washed his apostles feet. This is weird. He is God, He is the person who created the world out of nothing! He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light! He created the Universe by thinking about it! He is the Lord of all and he is washing us lesser beings feet! WHY! If he is God, then why would he ever need to wash our feet. Even masters wouldn’t let there slaves do that, so why would the greatest being in all of existence wash our feet when we are nothing compared to him. He is doing this because he wants to prove that he can be our friend. That’s all God wants, is to be our best friend. The person we go to when we are sad. The person we go to when we had a really good day and we need to tell someone all about it. He wants to be our greatest friend, the person who loves us more than anyone that has lived, is living, and will live. He wants to prove to us that there isn’t a chasm between us, that he is right there next to us, waiting for us to talk to him.
Excellent response, Tyler!
He is trying to tell us to serve. He wants us to serve our enemies and our friends. He wants us to serve the poor and the rich. He wants us to make an example to everyone else that does not believe.
THis is LIke Gods infinite forgivness because he is washing the feet of the apostles so if that is not amazing i dont know what is.
Today Jesus washed his Apostle’s feet. It’s crazy because the king, the creator of life is serving other people. It reminds me of the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Jesus is an example of how we need to be a giver not receiver. When we serve others and help them it’s God working through us.
THis scripture says that he loves us so much and will never not love us
To me this that we need to understand God. We need to know what he is asking for like if you are not listening to God then you will not understand or hear him if he is asking you to become a priest or anything else. Jesus went through all of that pain and suffering and we are not just going to sit around and do nothing. We are going to talk to God, read the bible, and pray every single day of our lives.
The part that stood out to me is when Jesus said “From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it happens you will know that I AM”. It stood out because that is when Jesus tells the disciples what is going to happen. He told them that He will die and rise, even though they didn’t completely understand it at the time. When He did rise, they probably thought back to when Jesus said this and realized how important it was.
What I am getting from this gospel today is that no one man is greater than another man. Also no man is better than God. In fact nothing is greater then God. God is greater than us. He will always be greater than us. We need to realize this. We are all way too selfish. We always want the thing your friend has and we always want to have the most attention of a group. Everything in our life should be what Jesus would do. That doesn’t mean not to be a human. Do things every man should do like go outside of your house and have fun with your friends and mess around. Just never think you are ever greater than Jesus because your not and you never will be.
What this scripture is saying is to believe in me and follow his path. He knows whats ahead of us and know what bad and good we’ve done no matter if we weren’t trying to hurt him or sin. God knows us more than we know our selves. He is pretty much saying to follow his path, the right path. We do our best to do whats right even when it may not be what we wanna do or agree with. But Jesus died for us we have to remember that it wasn’t easy. God went through so much pain just so that we could live and treasure our moment in life.If God didn’t care we wouldn’t be here. Our purpose is to live for him and share the word of him. Jesus loves us more than we think.
Today’s scripture is telling us that we should put others before ourselves. In the way that Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, we a can do things for our neighbors, too. I might be something small or it could be a grand gesture of some sort. Even if it is small, you don’t have to think that is is meaningless. Jesus also tells us to accept him. We can do this by just listening to him in prayer.
In today’s gospel it’s telling me that we need to obey God. We should never do anything God wouldn’t want us to, we should always follow in God’s footsteps. We always need to remember that God is with us and is always watching us. God loves us and we should love him too.
In today’s gospel he we are being told to go out. Jesus says “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.” he is telling us we need to go out to be received, so that anyone who knows us will know God, we can become a living link to Jesus, who will lead souls to Heaven.
God, the creator of everything out of nothing, came down and washed the feet of his followers. He said that No slave is greater than his master. Well what does this mean? It means that even though we are so below Jesus. Yet…. He still washed out feet, cleans us of our sins and heals us because of his enteral love. We protest and say that no, no, I should be washing your feet, adoring you, but Jesus says no. Let me clean you. Let me.
What the scripture is telling me today is that, well, if Jesus, the guy who kind of is literally God, washed these fishermen’s feet, not because he had to, but because he wanted to set an example, what the heck are we doing??? I mean, why aren’t we doing stuff like that, MORE than that, everyday??? God did it! GOD! Why aren’t we being as generous and serving as we dare to be? Is it because it makes us uncomfortable? If so, that is a really bad reason. Jesus set an example for us so we could be the best we can. To stand out as Christians, Catholics.
The gospel is telling me that Jesus cares so much about that he even took the time to wash their feet as they were sinner’s just like us this just shows us how much he cares and loves us.
What I am getting from this Gospel is that Jesus loves us no matter what. Blessed are we to have Jesus with us forever. Blessed are we to be alive and have a chance to have Eternal Life. Where would we be without God? There would be nothing other than darkness. There would be nothing to do. So blessed are we to be in this life that has been given to us. As sinners, we believe that we don’t deserve His love but He always loves us because He is love. Blessed are we whom have Jesus till our last breath. Amen.
The Lord made us, then came down from Heaven as an example for us. He showed us how to live our lives, and we have a book of guidance right in front of us. It’s silly that we don’t open our bibles when we need help and feel like we don’t know what to do, because that’s why God came down for us. He loves us, and is so loving and selfless that he’s willing to wash the feet of people who are so much lower than He is. He is the Creator, our Savior, and even with all His power, He washed dirty feet. He could’ve made us His own personal servants, but what did He do? He washed feet, and died on the cross for us. He served us so we can serve each other.
