“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, YOU WILL SEE HEAVEN OPENED AND THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON THE SON OF MAN.” JN 1:43-51
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip.
And Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter.
Philip found Nathanael and told him,
“We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,
and also the prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth.”
But Nathanael said to him,
“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
“Here is a true child of Israel.
There is no duplicity in him.”
Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
Nathanael answered him,
“Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Do you believe
because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
You will see greater things than this.”
And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will see heaven opened
and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” JN 1:43-51
Do angels exist? Jesus said they will be ascending and descending on the Son of Man. At Mass, when heaven and earth clash we join the angels to praise and glorify God during the Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy). Yes, they do exist and we each have our own guardian angel. The angel of God prayer is not just for young children to pray but adults too. We are fighting Satan a fallen angel who is very intelligent and deceitful.
A person must know the enemy like an opponent in sports, how to beat him, and know where he is at. He is constantly in our thoughts trying to persuade us from God. When a person thinks God is trying to take away their fun, it’s the devil. When a person puts themselves down or criticizes others, it is the devil in their thoughts. Whenever we rationalize our sin and don’t think it is that bad, it is the devil in our thoughts. When a person thinks God or the Mass is boring, it is the devil in their head. Don’t allow the power of the cross to die in your mind. Battle Satan with the St. Michael prayer, God’s grace in the sacraments, constant prayer, and continually talk to Jesus and allow Him to love you. A person must do these things daily to win the battle versus Satan.
Today’s challenge: Start reflecting on times when your thoughts have been against God. Next time it happens be ready to say the St. Michael prayer. Continue to say the Angel of God and ask the angels in heaven to protect you from Satan. Ask Mary to wrap you in her mantle each day to keep Satan away from you and your family. Ask St. Joseph to wrap you in his cloak and protect you and your family from Satan. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Storm heaven, the Devil is relentless!
Be a servant, become a saint!

What reached out to me was, “There is no duplicity in him”. What this means to me is that our Faith is like no other. In our Faith God became man to save us, he loves us that much.
Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” This quote stuck out to me because I think all the time about how does God know all 7.8 billion people in our world. I think this just really shows his passion for loving us and trying to develop a relationship with us.
At the end of the world we will see God. We should prepare and be ready. If we just follow Jesus, we can make it to Heaven to be with Him forever.
A phrase that stuck out to me is Amen amen I say to you you will see heaven opened. I like this phrase because it means that God id taking people to heaven everyday. I also like this phrase because it means that if we sin we will go to heaven because even Adam and Eve sinned.
In this scripture reflection Jesus is gathering his apostles and he told Phillip that he was under the fig tree and Phillip knew he was the son of man and did not lie and asked if he believed Phillip believed in the son of man because he is all knowing of everything.
Today ´ s scripture passage is very truthful and meaningful. ¨And Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” That phrase stuck with me the whole passage. I feel like it´s trying to tell me that I need to be open and ready to follow/ listen to God. Even if I don ´ t want something to go a certain way, Jesus always knows what’s best. Even if he takes you down a bumpy road, he will still be by your side through the hardest turn just to guide you. Don´t be afraid, pick up your cross/ burden and go.
In this Gospel Jesus tells us to follow Him. He will always ask us to come follow me. Another thing that this Gospel teaches us is that Jesus is always with us. He was with Nathaniel under the fig tree. He will always be with us in our tough times.
Why are humans so against God? Maybe we don’t realize it, but we often (very often) turn against God. We turn against our own Father. When we sin, we go against God. We go against his teachings and what he wants for us. All because of our selfish tendencies. What God wants for us is what’s best for us. Turning against him and being ignorant of the scriptures is not doing what’s best for us. What God wants is best for us because his way of life is the only way we can get into heaven. God knows we are not perfect and that we are all sinners, but he also knows we can put in the effort to live the life he wants us to live.
“Do you believe it because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? ” We should believe in Him without proof. Him dying on the cross is proof. We have physical items today that are proof and yet people still want more. We should believe in Him even if there is nothing but His love.
We need to believe in God so that our eyes may be opened to the wonders Jesus has given to us. We need to pay attention to the little things and not just go through the motions of life. God is everywhere. We should try to see God in everything and everyone.
We are constantly fighting the devil, a fallen angel, and we must remember that anything leading us away from our faith is the devil, whether it be words, thoughts, and honestly most of the things that people can want, including fame, wealth, or alchohol/drugs. We pray the Angel of God prayer to ask for help from the angels to fight against the devil.
The devil is everywhere. He is in our thoughts, words, and actions, tempting us to follow him. We need to learn to break from his grasp and follow Jesus instead. Praying is our way to grow closer to God and farther from Satan. We have to learn and realize when the devil is tempting us and turn to God, to happiness.
Jesus says, “You will see greater things than this.” I wonder what he means by that, I think He is talking about how He will prove Hes the Son of God, and how he will perform great things, miracles. Also Him coming again or the Crucifixion. I’m not sure but we all need to figure it out.
Todays reading mostly was very fascinating because there is so many in counters with the trinity talking to us, humans, which brings us to the point of why does he even try to talk to us when we are weaker than him.
Jesus always sees us. He will be with us and stay with us no matter where we are or what we do. He is always there, waiting at the door. He wants us to believe in Him and love Him with all our hearts, minds, and souls. But even if we don’t believe or fall away, He will still be there waiting for us, because he loves us more than anything and wants nothing more than to be with us.
Jesus was saying that out of even the most evil places good and the pure of heart can come from them.
Jesus promised that if he chose to give his life to him he would see great works done by Jesus and it’s amazing how easy it was to make him believe he said, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” God works in mysterious ways but if we believe in him we can uncover it easier.
“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, YOU WILL SEE HEAVEN OPENED AND THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON THE SON OF MAN.” we only get that if we do the lords will.
The devil is everywhere, but so is God. Since the devil is everywhere we constantly have to fight to make a good decision. But since God is also everywhere we have him to help us fight the devil, to make our journey to heaven a little bit easier.
The devil is everywhere around us but God is also by us fighting him off, the devil is in our mind, actions, and words, so Jesus fights him off. He crucified himself to prove he is the Son of God and to be with us always, anywhere and any time.
“He is constantly in our thoughts trying to persuade us from God. When a person thinks God is trying to take away their fun, it’s the devil.” The devil is trying to take us away from God. He doesn’t want us to love God.
we are always fighting. physically against others, friends, family, mentaly against ourselves, and spiritualy against the devil. but when we ask God for help, he will help. if you ask your gaudian angel they will come. when He said “Ask and you shall recieve,” He ment if we ask him he will come. though we may not always know it, he is with us.
Jesus is always with us and loves us. And he will be with us no matter what happens, and even if we don’t believe or start to leave him he will still be there for us.
“Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done)” This is important. In the Our Father prayer we say “thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven,” we say this before we receive the body of Christ during Mass. Receiving communion is just the start of a good heavenly relationship with Jesus Christ our savior.
The devil is everywhere, and he is trying to lead us away from God. He will tempt us with many things that we want like fame, and money. But we need to say no and follow God. Following God gives us eternal life in heaven, following the devil means suffering and pain forever.
We are constantly fighting the devil,he’s everywhere and we can’t get rid of him unless we really try
and we need to ignore him.The devil used to be one of God’s most trusted angels but he wanted more power,
He wanted to BE God but then God sent him to hell and the devil is trying to get us to turn on God and he’s
trying to get us to go to hell.
I think that its saying that God is with us no matter were we are and are at in life that he will take every step of the way with us and that he need to understand that he is there with us and pray and do good and all things through Christ to help us stay away from the devil.
Jesus is telling Phillip that there are greater things that he will see come upon the Son of Man. For example, angels. Phillip also told Jesus that He truly was the Son of Man. Jesus told him this, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will see heaven opened
and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
So us on earth must listen to Jesus and realize that greater things will happen to us in our time here on Earth and when we push ourselves to be closer to God and Jesus in Heaven good things will happen to us.
The devil is always trying to tempt us in every way shape and form. And Jesus is always watching us, so we have to make the decision of whether we commit that sin or not. Now I’m not saying that we can just go the rest of our lives without sinning because that’s physically impossible but we should try not to sin as much as physically possible. Earth is just a test and we are the students do we stick with Christianity and Jesus or do we fall with the devil. It’s all up to us.
I reflect on all the times that I think things like the mass is boring, or I put someone down in my head or even out loud. this happens all the time and I never really think about it as wrong, although this really does make me think about it.
We are always going to be fighting the devil in our life that ´ s why we need to be sure to have a good and pure relationship with God. Satin is always finding time to temp you shame you make you say things you shouldn’t be saying and more and even if we do fall for those temptations God will still be with no matter what.
I think that this is a big problem with catholics mostly teens but all ages, they listen to the wrong voice and fall from the church because the listen to the devil the one main person that we need to ignore we lisont to what he says is all the bad things that we think
Jesus promised that Nathanael That he would see greater things like angels ascending and descending from heaven and it reminded me of what happens at the mass angels descending from heaven to sing with us.
As humans we question God because we like to believe in something that we can touch. We have our five physical senses and thinking is not one of them. So it is hard to have faith because all you can do is believe. It is scary to lean on God. But here is the thing it shouldn’t be because God is love. God loves us so much we re his children.
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) this is important. We say this in the Our Father in Mass, Which is the prayer we say before we receive communion. Communion is just the beginning of our heavenly relationship with Jesus Christ our savior and model in holliness.
Jesus will always be with us no matter what. We are constantly always fighting the devil it matters on how we respond to that.
We can grow closer to God by praying and doing the things he calls us to do, but that is difficult because satan is constantly trying to lead us down the wrong path. But, even in situations like that, in the worst of times or places, God still finds a way to guide us through the storm.
Jesus says “You will see greater things than this.” I think He is talking about how He will prove Hes the Son of God, and how he will perform great things, Him coming again and the Crucifixion.
This scripture shows me that no matter who we are Jesus is always looking and watching out for us. He knows the location and what we are thinking. He loves each and every one of us so much that he will watch all of us at the same time to make sure the devil is not getting to us.
in this gospel i noticed how much people fall away from god or just dont care for him. but i also notice how he still loves and still tells us to follow him for eternal life so we can rest happily. the devil is everywhere. so is Jesus! find the good in things instead of bad being happy is so much easier then being sad if your truly with god and let him guide you let all the fear you have fall away into his hands. jesus gives us a choice we either follow him or we dont its up to you he. he still loves you no matter what, he wouldve still died for you if you where the only person on earth. God loves you!
A part that stuck out to me was when the reading says “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” I think when Jesus says this He is trying to tell that Heaven is something great soon to come and that He will do great things for us.
What stuck out to me is that Don’t allow the power of the cross to die in your mind. Battle Satan with the St. Michael prayer, God’s grace in the sacraments, constant prayer, and continually talk to Jesus and allow Him to love you. A person must do these things daily to win the battle versus Satan. We can take Satan down day by day if we pray and don’t let him tempt us to sin because sometimes its hard and your going to sin but just try your best not to.
We have to battle the devil and know him like an opponent. He is constantly in our thoughts and minds trying to get us to not follow God. We have to battle him through the sacraments, with prayer and by talking to Jesus.
“Do you believe it because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” This stuck out to me because I felt like it was saying how God’s love is greater than anything on Earth. And how there is nothing greater than Him.
We all have guardian angels to take care of us to keep us away from the devil. God sent them to protect us. We can rely on them to keep us away from sin. There are many forms of sin and none of them can be rationalized, they are all bad and we have to battle them with the help of our guardian angels. They were sent to protect us. It is their duty but we have to be willing to fight the devil.
We always have a Angel with us to protect us from The devil and help us so that if we ever are tempted we can say the Angel of God prayer and they help you fight what ever the devel may be tempting you with.
I feel like this passage is about how you should pray a prayer even if it sounds foolish enough that mostly kids only say it. Adults can say it too cause the prayer is for everyone to pray for. Prayer is a sacrament not a limit.
Ask Mary to wrap you in her mantle each day to keep Satan away from you and your family.
Ask St. Joseph to wrap you in his cloak and protect you and your family from Satan. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
so you should ask to be saved from Satan and you shouldn’t be scared to ask for help or of Satan.
The devil is trying to lead us away from Jesus, he is everywhere including our thoughts and when we are trying to pray. Everything that we do that is not God’s will is the devil tempting us.
Two things that stuck out to me were “There is no duplicity in him” and “Do you believe me because I saw you under a fig tree?”
The first one means that there is no religion like ours. The second one is that Nathanael believed Jesus even though Jesus only said he saw him under a tree. Nathanael Didn’t need any more proof. For us Jesus dying on the cross is proof for us.
Today I think Jesus is telling me that he sees me through everything even my hard times and he gets me through those times. In return all he asks for is that I follow him even if it means doing something I don’t want to do or I know it’s the right thing but it is still hard.
After reading this scripture, I learned a few things that changed me today. I learned that God knows us a lot more than we think He does. He is always watching us grow. God is our creator and also our Heavenly Father. We have prayer so that we can talk to God and grow our relationship with Him. And no matter how many times we get put down by the devil or our enemies, God will always be there to pick us up. Our Faith is the center of our life, and we are in this world so that we can serve our part of the Faith.
Jesus wants us to believe in him. He doesn’t make us believe in him. He doesn’t have to show us anything for him to be real because he is real. He always looks out for us even if we don’t know it.
what the scripture is telling me is that we are sometimes looked upon depending where we come from but we have to be closely inspected to be found out who we truly are. sometimes we are seen differently to others but we are still the same to the Lord.
I think this scripture is about how we have always been destine to be with God forever. God has always known about us since before we came into the world and he wants to be with us until we leave it. God wants a relationship with us but we have to choose if we want to want it as well.
Today’s scripture passage is saying that the devil is always with us and trying to tempt us, but we have to choose God over the devil. We need to know that the devil is our enemy. Every bad thought is always Stan trying to tempt us to do what he wants instead of doing what is right and following God.
“Follow me.” these 2 words are the 2 words to follow in your daily life. Follow me is one of the most powerful things to do, you need to find and follow God in your everyday life. you also need to lead others to the way of Christ.
Jesus knows everything. So why should we doubt Him who created us, who knows us more than we know ourselves? We as humans tend to follow the saying “Seeing is believing.” Someone says something is true, we don’t really believe them until we see it with our own eyes. But we don’t necessarily have to see Jesus to know He is there. He is everywhere in our lives.
We often ask for a sign or vision of God that we physically see something from the Lord, so that we may believe. The true holy ones do not see or hear, but simply just believe. We do not need a sign from God in order to believe in Him. Just simply submit yourself to him and you will receive the gifts of Heaven.
Jesus will always find us. we could be in our darkest places and think that we are too far lost in sin to ever be saved he will come and he will save us. God cannot hold grudges or be angry with us he always finds a way to forgive and to try to bring us in to the kingdom of heaven
God calls us to him. We need to listen to Him. God knows what we are doing at all times. We need to remember that. Before we do something we need to ask ourselves, would Jesus Christ do this? If we don’t know what to do in life we need to ask God in what we truly need to do with our life. We need to open our ears for His call.
Jesus is always there for you even if you are trying to run away from Him, He will come and find you, you are the lost sheep that the Shepard is looking for. You can run but you can’t hide from God. He sees you and what you are doing. You don’t have to be perfect God loves you the way you are.
In this scripture God is telling us to follow Him. He is there with us and for us, but we can get caught up in this world’s distractions and the devil’s temptation and forget to follow Him. He asks us to come and follow Him and He will lead us to His Kingdom.
Jesus is telling us to follow him and believe in him. We are always constantly being tempted by the devil and doing or saying things that we should not. We must remind ourselves to turn the other way and go to God. Go to him when we are being tempted by the devil. It will make the devil mad but we are doing what is right and we are following God.
One part that really stuck out to me was when Nathaniel was asking Jesus how he knew him because it reminds us that God knows us all he created us in his image. Jesus is not a stranger he is our savior and we need to see that in him.
Angels are like a guide for us to get to heaven, same with the Holy Spirit. We were all chosen a guardian angel to protect us and guide us to Heaven. Have you ever said Thank you to them for protecting us? We cant see them but can we feel them? Do you ever feel safe, its probably our guardian angels. I’ve never really thought about them before but this scripture helped me.
I think today’s gospel is about how we look at God. In our new generation of people we forget how important God is to us. WE also forget how much we need to be in our lifes. As humans we question if God is a real thing because of how much denial of God is happening in our lifetime. So before our final day comes we need to follow his path and be the way that God created us to be.
Something that stood out to me was “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” this stood out to me because Jesus is the son of God.
“Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” This stood out to me because you can’t judge something or someone without knowing what that person is going through or what the creator of something looks like because it hurts people when you judge them or their work. How do you know that Nazareth is a bad place? Have you been there? Have you seen what it’s like? No? Well come and see. Don’t judge a book by its cover. When we judge people and they don’t know about it they will hear what you’ve said about them to that person.
“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
“Here is a true child of Israel.
There is no duplicity in him.”
You might think that a bad thing that happend has nothing good about it. But most of the time there is something. It might be small but something good comes out of something bad. Like when your mom forces you to do something you really don ´ t want to do and you find out that you really like what you were forced to do. In a way we were forced to live on Earth. Even though your life might suck a little. If you look at the big picture it really isn’t that bad.
One part that really stuck out to me was when Nathaniel was asking Jesus how he knew him because it reminds us that God knows us all he created us in his image. Jesus is not a stranger he is our savior and we need to see that in him.
I think today’s scripture is saying that we need to understand that God can always see us. We cannot hide from God and we need to stop trying to. We need to be honest with ourselves and be faithful in God.
The theme in this scripture I feel like is to not judge a book by its cover. Nathanael said that nothing good could come from Nazareth. They went to go see if it was true about the teachings of Jesus and sure enough both of them followed Jesus on His journey. This in our society would have been the same way but probably wouldn’t have believed that Jesus was the son of God.
This scripture is talking about believing and following Christ throughout our whole life. We have to trust and follow in his path and know that he will open up Heaven when we are ready to come to him in eternal life.
“How do you know me?” Nathanael wanted to know how Jesus knew him. I think we also want to know how Jesus knows us, and the truth is, he knows us because he created us. He knows everything there is to know about us. He knows our secrets and our passions. He knows everything.
Before Jesus entered the scene, Nathaneal was doubtful and sort of joking about the fact that Jesus was from Nazareth, but when Jesus came in, Nathaneal was immediately enthrawled by Him.
In the scripture Jesus basically says that what on this earth is nothing compared to heaven. Jesus said “You will see greater things than this.” He also said “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” He is really just trying to show us how heaven is going to be so much better than earth.
He came to bring heaven and earth together! He invites us to join with Him to transform the world and bring heaven to earth!
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that He always knows where we are and what we are doing. He knows when we did something bad or something we weren’t supposed to do.
A piece of Scripture that stuck out to me was where Jesus asked “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?”. To me, it is saying that we need to believe in Him without proof. It also reminds me of Doubting Thomas, who said that he needed to see Jesus and feel the wounds in His hands, feet, and side. We shouldn’t need proof as it is faith.
I think the Scripture is saying we need to follow Jesus. We cannot leave Jesus. Jesus would never ever leave us because he loves us. We need to show our love for Jesus back to Him. We make Jesus happy when we take time in our day to talk to him. We should always make time to pray or talk to Jesus. Even if we are busy we can always pray when we wake up or when we go to bed.
Nathaniel did not believe that someone from Nazareth would be the one to fulfill the prophesies at first. Only after Jesus revealed He saw him under the fig tree did he believe. However, Jesus tells him that much more is to come, “you will see heaven will open.” I think it is interesting how Jesus knows the future and what power He has.
It says even if you don’t believe in Jesus it doesn’t mean that He doesn’t care about us. No matter how far away we are from the faith that wont stop Jesus from loving us. He will always be watching us and knowing what we are doing.
This Scripture is talking about how Jesus wanted Phillip to follow him and Phillip was kinda suspicious so he told his friend about it and Jesus was with him and Jesus said something to him that made him belive that he really was the king and when Jesus told Phillp friend about him seeing him etc Philip freind like changed because Jesus is always with us.
“Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” Jesus can do great things. He sees everything we do. He knows if we lie, cuss, cheat, and even disobey our parents. He knows. I feel like all human beings sin and they think that if they lie they thing they can lie to Jesus too. But Jesus knows. We need to trust in Him and show Him that we do love Him and know that He loves us even more. He loves us even if we’ve sinned against Him.
I think the scripture is saying that we have to listen to the true words of others. We must list to God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit that it is the only way we can make it to see the Father and avoid temptation from the Devil and all of his tricks.
I think for a lot of us, we need a sign that God is real. Nathaneal believes because Jesus knew where he was. In order to believe, we have to have faith. The problem with faith is that sometimes you have to believe without seeing. “We walk by faith, and not by sight.” With Jesus no longer being on this earth, I think sometimes we feel like we can’t ask for a miracle. So, we don’t. But like Nathanael, our faith can be strengthened by “seeing.” Even if we can’t “walk by sight,” the “sight” guides us to faith, which we then “walk” by. So don’t be afraid to ask for a miracle. It may just change your life.
God/Jesus is humble so when Nathaniel asked if anything good could come from Nazareth, the answer is yes. God didn’t want Jesus to come down in this big lighting strike and destroy evil in one hand while getting cheers and from his peers. NO/ God wanted Jesus to be born in a subtle way that wouldn’t crush all and impress all. When Jesus was born it showed us that fame is not everything. Ya you can be born into this rich family, and everybody in the world would know about you, but would you want that. Jesus was born and not a lot of people knew about Him. He wanted people to know Him by His works and love, not by His rising fame.
“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, YOU WILL SEE HEAVEN OPENED AND THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON THE SON OF MAN.” We need to grow closer to God and have an encounter with Him. He will always be here for us always in the good times and bad times. There are a lot of things we can do to grow closer to God and have a better Catholic faith. You can build a better relationship with Jesus.
i really like this because I feel like this tells us that when god comes it explains what will happen and i love that. we need to get ready and repent when God comes back God is the one and only savior and we should pray and do anything God wants us to do.
“Do you believe
because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
You will see greater things than this.” Do we belive because our family belives in him or do we belive in him? we must figure that out.
And Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” This stood out to me because Jesus wants us to follow him so we can get to heaven. If we don’t, we might fall and it will be hard to get up but if we pray to God, he will come and help us up.
Do angels exist? Yes, they do exist and we each have our own guardian angel. The angel of God prayer is not just for young children to pray but adults too. We are fighting Satan a fallen angel who is very intelligent and deceitful. I like how they phrased this because Angels are beautiful since they help God and everyone, They help us follow God so we can go up to Heaven to see them. The angels are like the twelve disciple, they follow him, and do what he says when he wants them to.
I think God is trying to tell us to be open but mindful of what he wants and what he is trying to tell us to know our enemies meaning the devil and what he is capable of in temptation and his charismatic skills.
We each have our own guardian angel. That means that we have someone watching over us all the time 24/7 even when we are not with our parents
This sticks out to me because Nathaniel didn’t know Jesus, yet he still came to him. “You will see greater things than this” This shows that Jesus has already predicted the miracles that he will perform.
What I got from this passage was that Jesus came for everyone not just the Jews which He was raised from. Also that if you follow Jesus you will get somewhat tortued for it but that doesn’t mean you should fear being Catholic.
Whenever we rationalize our sin and don’t think it is that bad, it is the devil in our thoughts. when i read this i just thought of all the times i got mad at God for not getting something or something bad happening to me and i never thought it was the devil i always blamed God and that the reason things go wrong is because we aren’t like Jesus or Mary we are sinners after reading this i want to strive to not blame God for all the bad things but praise him for everything good
“Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? This stuck out to me because God is telling us that he is everywhere and can see anything you do. Just because you do something and no one else sees it doesn’t mean that someone (God) didn’t see you.
No one knows when the Son of man is coming. We need to be ready for it whenever it comes. We like to think about sin and say, ” Well, its not really lying. I told them the truth about some things.” Yet we are just trying to make ourselves feel better, and to protect our ego. We are so prideful that we convince ourselves that we cannot do such a horrible thing as sin, and we follow that thought, and because we believe that we pretty much never sin, (Which is a lie) we start to condemn others, and to build ourselves up even more until we are so stuck up, we believe that we do not need God to be happy, and that I know better than Him.
Jesus said, “Here is a true child of Israel. There is no duplicity in him.” Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” God knows anything and everything about you. He even knows more than you do about yourself. In this scripture passage, Jesus shows us that he created everyone in a different way. No one is the same and God did this for a reason.
A part that stuck out to me was ¨A person must know the enemy like an opponent in sports, how to beat him, and know where he is at.¨ This stuck out to me because the devil is our enemy and we have to be aware what we do and say reflects back on us. We have to know how to beat him in this game he wants us to play. We have to know who are enemy is just like in sports because we have to know there tactics and there stradegies, just like we have to know the devils tactics in order to beat him in his game.
Today, this part of the passage really stood out to me“A person must know the enemy like an opponent in sports, how to beat him, and know where he is at.” I don’t know why, but I think it is important. I know that this relates to the saying “ Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” and we know how to resist the devil’s temptations, but sometimes we can’t resist.
What stuck out to me was the part when Nathaniel came up to Jesus and asked him how do you know me, then Jesus said to him because I saw you under the fig tree. I really like that part because it gives an example of how Jesus can see everything and whats going on not just you but everyone.I think this showed me that Jesus is always there watching over me and I think that is a good thing to know so that you don´t feel like your alone and that someone is always there for you.
Satan is always trying to tempt us. Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins and that whenever you feel tempted say the St. Michael prayer and ask God to protect you and your family from sin. You should end up doing this on a daily basis. Philip also didnt need any more proof other than Jesus saw him under a tree.
Today the scripture said to me that Jesus saw everyone and everything because he saw Nathaniel under the fig tree. He sees everything he could have stopped his death but didn’t because he wanted to save us more than he wanted to save his own life. The will of God in Jesus is stronger than any will of any other man in this world.
The devil is everywhere. The Angel of God prayer is asking our Guardian Angel to help fight off the devil and our sins. That’s one of the reasons I picked St. Micheal as my confirmation saint. God could’ve blown up the earth and saved himself but he didn’t because he loves us.
I think the Scripture is telling us to believe in Jesus. Jesus sees everything since He was able to see Nathanael under the fig tree. Since He can always see us, He calls us each by name. So will you respond to Him or not?
God wants us to trust him and we shouldn’t blame God for the bad things but we should be thankful and praise God for the great things he blessed us with.

God wants us to trust him and we shouldn’t blame God for the bad things but we should be thankful and praise God for the great things he blessed us with.
