“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, WHOEVER KEEPS MY WORD WILL NEVER SEE DEATH.” JN 8:51-59
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to the Jews:
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever keeps my word will never see death.”
So the Jews said to him,
“Now we are sure that you are possessed.
Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say,
‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.’
Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died?
Or the prophets, who died?
Who do you make yourself out to be?”
Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing;
but it is my Father who glorifies me,
of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
You do not know him, but I know him.
And if I should say that I do not know him,
I would be like you a liar.
But I do know him and I keep his word.
Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day;
he saw it and was glad.”
So the Jews said to him,
“You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
before Abraham came to be, I AM.”
So they picked up stones to throw at him;
but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area. JN 8:51-59
Jesus is taking off the gloves and using fighting words with the Jews now. They picked up stones to throw at Him. Jesus is continuing to stand firm that He is the Son of God and one with the Father who sent Him. ”Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” Radical. Jesus puts His Word above death. Are you striving to live His Word?
Next, the Jews ask if Jesus is above the covenant of the Torah given to Abraham by God himself. This is a whopper! Jesus answers, ““If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know him and I keep his word. Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was glad.” Jesus tells the Jews He knows God much better than they do and calls them liars if they do not believe Him. Then, He puts himself above the great patriarch of the Old Testament, Abraham and says that Abraham rejoiced at seeing Jesus, the Savior.
Last, Jesus puts the icing on the cake. The Jews of course ask how Jesus knows Abraham rejoiced at seeing Him. Jesus replies, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” Jesus calls Himself God once again! These words of Jesus are complete blasphemy or Divine Revelation. This is the dividing point for all of us. Do we believe in what Jesus said (ultimately believing He did die and rise making everything He said true)? Or do we kinda believe, or is there time to believe later, or do we not want to totally commit because we might have to change or be transformed. Believing in anything with our whole heart and soul will be the hardest thing we ever commit to.
It is going to take an act of God (the death and resurrection of His only Son and His grace-both free gifts) to move our hearts and souls to believe in Jesus Christ, His Word, and life after death. “And when the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” MT19:25-26
Let God love you. He is fighting for you. He sent His only Son for you. Does this mean anything to us? God’s entire purpose is to create us, love us, and bring us back home to heaven. Our entire purpose is to gain this knowledge on earth, love Him back, serve Him by loving and serving others doing His will, and returning back to Him in our heavenly home. Distractions, distractions, we allow so many distractions and selfishness to get in the way of this Divine Plan. It’s Lent, pray, fast, give alms and sit quietly in the Adoration chapel or empty church and tell God you are all in, ask Him to take the wheel, it’s time to start living not just existing.
Today’s challenge: Ask Jesus to help you believe. “Jesus, I believe, help my unbelief.” MK 9:24

Be a servant, become a saint!
that some one die so jesu ris and wakc aand live for a nother day and worship me and i will so you the way you can show
I think Jesus was revealing Heaven to them but they weren’t understanding. They thought he was saying that whoever keeps his word would be immortal on Earth but what he really means is they will be immortal in Heaven.
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “whoever keeps my word will never see death.” What this means to me is that if we ever need to know what to do in our lives we need to turn to Jesus. Jesus has given us all the answers we need in scripture, and if we look for them, we will find them.
In this gospel, Jesus teaches us to be humble. Jesus says , “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing;
but it is my Father who glorifies me, …” We should not glorify ourselves but instead let God glorify us by the good deeds that we do. We should be humble like Jesus and not tell everyone how great you are.
You have to make a choice to believe in Jesus. Jesus isn’t forcing you to believe in him. He’s offering you to believe in him. If we want to believe that Jesus is the son of God, we have to take Jesus seriously. We have to talk to him, and we have to form that relationship with him. Only you can make the decision to welcome Jesus into your heart. When we become believers, we have to learn to put aside distractions. Jesus must be the center of our lives.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” Wow. Another scripture of Jesus telling us the truth. And what do we do, we throw rocks at Him!! Why would we do that to our Savior? We still do it to Him by lying, disobeying. When are we going to open our eyes and see that He still hasn’t given up on us?!?!
In this scripture today Jesus says that we must call to him if we start calling to him if we feel the devil’s temptation and that we must try and break free of that temptation and respond to the crist call.
“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, WHOEVER KEEPS MY WORD WILL NEVER SEE DEATH.” This sentence really stuck out to me a lot while reading this. I feel like he is telling me that I need to keep Him alive in my day to day life. If I see someone struggling, try to say words to bring them up so that they have Faith. If someone is making fun of someone try to stand up for them through God ´ s name. Those are the times that Jesus will bring up on our judgement day. Stand up for what you believe in. During the coming to end of Lent, let us try to practice this more.
A phrase that stuck out to me was “whoever keeps my word will never see death.” This phrase means to me that I don’t need to afraid of death, but that I need to be ready for it. Another reason I like this phrase is because It means that when I know I am getting to my finally days that I can start my repentant’s.
In today reading Jesus says “I am” and whenever he says that you know its serious. The Jews wee not respecting the way that Abraham and the Prophets were connected with Jesus but also I dont know if I would be able to understand what Jesus means. But the Jews decided to throw stones at Jesus because of what he was teaching.
Jesus tells us that He is the Son of God. He tells the Jews that He knows the Father and they do not believe Him. They picked up stones to throw at Him. The Jew keeps doubting Jesus because this sounds crazy, but it is the truth. Jesus is the Son of God. We need to believe because it is the truth and the trust will always be true.
Jesus is insisting that He is the Son of God. The Jews still do not believe. Today’s scripture is asking us if we believe Jesus is the Messiah, or if we think He is not.
Jesus said to the Jews: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” The Jews couldn’t understand that he was saying that whoever keeps my word will enter the kingdom of Heaven. Instead they said he is surely possessed because they took it as he was saying he was greater than the other prophets which he is because he is the son of God led by God.
Jesus’s word is The Way, The Truth, and The Life in which we must live by. His word is the Gospel and what will lead us to heaven. Not everyone believes in him. They doubt him, beat him, scourge Him, and crucify Him because they are blind to his divinity. We are all still his children. He is so merciful that he still loves those who hurt him. In their time they didn’t know he was The Savior. ”Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” The Jews think of this as blasphemy, but that is because they are blinded by sin. We need to open our eyes and see Jesus. Doing this is one step closer to heaven.
In today’s scripture Jesus tells people “I AM” and they don’t believe Him. When Jesus tells us that He is, we should believe HIm. He has no reason to lie to us. All Jesus wants of us is to be happy and the only way that can be is if we give ourselves up to Him.
Jesus is trying to tell the Jew’s that he is I AM and he will never stop. Jesus loves them the same just as he loves me and you the same. The Jews think he is possessed but Jesus tells them that he who glorifies me is our God. Jesus is telling them there is some one greater than Father Abraham.
God loves each of us so much that he sent his only son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. Not only that, but he opened the gates of Heaven and gave us a set of rules and directions so that we may know how to get to Heaven. He gave us saints, miracles, and so many other pieces of proof. This love is so great we can only imagine what a sliver of it is. In the end, though, it is our decision. Do we believe in God the Father Almighty, or is he just some guy faking it? If you truly believe, your life will be exploding with love for God and for others. Mother Theresa once said, “When you know how much God loves you, you can only spend your life reflecting that love.”
JESUS IS GOD! in the scriptures, the jews still do not believe that Jesus is one with the Father. they try to stone Him, But Jesus stays firm. “I AM WHO I AM” is what Jesus is telling the jews and us. do we believe that he is the son of God? if we do, then let us ask for his help in times of need.
If we believe that he is who he says who he is and we pray to that person that we could get to the place that we are striving for and the place that we are here on earth to get there for our internal life. Our time on Earth is so much shorten then the time that we will be spending when we pass so you can choose the way you want to spend internity by the way you live our short time on earth.
what stick out to me was in the beginning when he said “Amen Amen I say to u, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” This means that if we don’t betray him and spread his word we willl seek eternal life in heaven. If someone gives you a present mostly you wanna give them something back or if they do something nice for you. Jesus died on the cross for you, the least you can do is spread his word. It takes 5 minutes.
Jesus said that “If I said that I didn’t know God i would be like you a lair.” So Jesus is telling us not to lie to others but also not to lie to ourselves. This is important because sometimes we tell ourselves we should be like that popular person, except God did not create us to be like someone else he created us to be ourselves.
I feel like Jesus was teaching us about being humble today. He is saying, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing”. Just like if we are using gluttony and pride to build ourselves up then we wont get anything in return because we talked to ourselves. So we need to build others up like Jesus does and we need to believe in Him because if we do then like Jesus said, “We will never taste death.” Which is why we have the Eucharist. And why Jesus always said that if we eat the Bread of Life (Eucharist) then we will never die.
I think that it’s saying that Abraham died and Jesus died for us too. And the father glorified him.And it says who ever keeps my word won’t see death.
Jesus knows God and we dont,People expect to not get to know Jesus and be by his side and still go to God,to heaven. You cant do that.If you don’t follow Jesus, and listen to Jesus then how do you expect to get to God if you can’t stay and follow jesus then how do you expect to get to God the father almighty.
And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar.
These words stuck out to me because, Jesus is revealing that he is not a liar and never will be a liar. As we continue to lie and sin, we are hurting God. We need to put him before anyone, he is always present.
Believing is very hard, ya sure believing just a little bit is easy but believing in God with all your heart ,mind, and soul is pretty hard, in fact it might even be one of the hardest things you can commit to. We must accept that, we cant just put Him off to the side like a hobby that you do every once in a while, we have to make Him the center of our life and have him be what we think about in the morning and at night before we go to bed, we have to think about him whenever we go out with our friends or really when we go anywhere. Whenever we are on our phones we have to think at least a little about him, maybe skip this video or that video, maybe not post this comment, maybe we shouldn’t post that video and things like that. We should put him over material life and Earthy desires.
Jesus keeps telling the Jews I AM but they continue to not believe him. Jesus tells us everyday I AM and we say we believe him but do we just say that or do we really mean it? If we really truly believe in who Jesus says he is we need to grow in faith and love with him to truly believe.
this is interesting because they do not know what he means, yet they still persecute him.
“If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me” Jesus is so humble he says I can’t praise myself, only my father His father is everything, he is love he is praise he is healing he is everything. The jews threw stones at Jesus but Jesus still stood strong and did his fathers will
Jesus sacrificed and revealed himself for us. A lot of people don’t know what that means or don’t appreciate it. God loves us and would do anything for us. He wants us to make it to eternal life in heaven with him. He tells us his word in the bible, so that way we can read it.
Today’s scripture we learn God truly loves us no matter what. He’s done all, No literally EVERYTHING, created every non-living and living things, gave us a life (our soul), sent his only Son to SAVE US, I mean what more can we ask from him? No matter what we always complain no matter how small or big we will complain that God caused us thinking he is punishing us. He really isn’t, if anything hes the one who is helping us in life leading us back to him at the right hand of the father. By far my favorite part of scripture was definitely “Let God love you. He is fighting for you. He sent His only Son for you. Does this mean anything to us?” It really shows that he does this all and we don’t acknowledge what he’s done for us.
Jesus is showing us that he is the Son of God and some of us are acting like the people in the temple. We need to believe that Jesus is one with God and with the holy spirit.
We all lie and Jesus tells us that today that he knows and that he won’t lie like us and if we keep his word we will never die he does not mean phislcly die but are souls will never die we can rejoice in Hevon for eternity or suffer in hell if you do not be kind and spreed the word so believe in your faith and learn to spread the word and do not be afraid to or afraid of what others think but also have fun do it your own way if you like to draw draw a seen from the bible or if you like to talk talk about it do something you like to share the word to everyone.
As humans we all sin. We are all equal. Why do we reject Jesus like that though? Sure we don’t throw stones at him but we reject him in our everyday life. We are on our phones or “too busy”. God made time probably to make sure that we did have time for him. God is outside of time there will always be time for God. Jesus love every one of us even though we reject him even though we don’t listen or sin over and over again. He still loves us when will we as humanity make time for our creator
Jesus go to the Jews and tell them that he is the son of the Father
“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, WHOEVER KEEPS MY WORD WILL NEVER SEE DEATH”
When Jesus says this, he doesnt mean we will have an infinite earthly life, but if we live our earthly life in His image, we will live infinitely in Heaven in spiritual life with Him.
What God is trying to say is that if we don’t want to see the face of death we have to go to God and listen to Him, believe in Him and
be a follower in his image. He is the everliving God and has never been wrong, so that means we should do anything in our power to look up to God as our heavenly Father and Savior.
Jesus said to the Jews:
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever keeps my word will never see death.”
I think Jesus is trying to tell us death is not the end of out life but a new beginning with him and the saints in Heaven. If you believe in God and are sorry for your sins in purgatory you will go to Heaven.
What stuck out to me was when Jesus said “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me.” Jesus is telling us that we need to not worship ourselves and think that we are greater than God. We need to follow God’s will and do as he tells us to. Because when we do those things God (The Father) will glorify us.
i think this scripture was about how we are all siners and imperfect but god still loves us and wants us in heaven with him for eternity. he was telling us who he is and the great things hes done for us.
let God love you because He is also fighting for you against temptation and He sent His only Son for us he does all this for us and we still turn away and do stuff we shouldn’t Does God saving us mean anything?
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” What this is saying is that if we believe in Him and pray and worship to Him and ONLY Him, we will have eternal life.
What stuck out to me was Let God love you. This stuck out to me because sometimes i feel like i’m not good enough for him to love me but he always will and i just need to let him love me and i need to learn to love him back the way he loves me.
Jesus IS the son of God and if we believe in him we will never die in him. We just have to believe in him. God is our savior and he died for us. Nothing can change that fact. All the holy saints before us believe in him so we need to follow that example because God is with us and we can go to Heaven so long as we believe.
Today Jesus is telling the truth again and nobody believes him. We need to tell the truth even when no one else believes you. Ask Jesus for help so you can always tell the truth.
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “whoever keeps my word will never see death.” What this means to me is that if we ever need to know what to do in our lives we need to turn to Jesus. Jesus has given us all the answers we need in scripture, and if we look for them, we will find them.
Jesus is who he is and will stay that way since he is the Son of God who will take away original sins. Jesus will show us the way like how he tried to teach the Jews to show him that he is the one.
If you believe in what God has taught you won’t die, “Whoever keeps my word will never see death.” God is not forcing us to believe in the gospel but to choose to. But if we want to live in eternal life with the trinity, we need to believe in what God teaches us through Jesus’ preaches.
In the scripture Jesus says whoever believes in my word will never die. Jesus means that if you believe that he is the one true Son of God, that he is the bread of life, that he is everything in existence, then you will never taste death. What he means by this is that we will die. We wont go to hell. Hell is terrible, pain, and suffering,. If you don;t believe in Jesus that is where you will go forever there’s no switching. If you believe in his words and action you will go to heaven and live with him in peace.
Today God says “If I glorify myself my glory is worth nothing; but it is the father who glorifies me” this stuck out to me because if you praise yourself it doesn’t mean anything at all but if someone else praises you for something it makes you feel happy.
Jesus is using fighting words and the Jews pick up rocks to throw at him. Jesus puts His Word above death. He tells the Jews that he knows God much better than them and calls them liars if they don’t believe him. He says Abraham rejoiced at seeing the Savior (Jesus). Jesus says he is God and those words are blasphemy. Do we truly believe Jesus is God?
A phrase that stuck out to me was “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, …” this teaches me that we should be humble like Jesus and not brag to everyone about how good you are, we should let God glorify us, not ourselves.
I think today´s scripture reflection was meant to teach us how to humble ourselves. If we take too much pride in ourselves, we will think that we don´t need God or anybody else. But we can´t live without God. This is why Jesus died on the cross for us. He wanted to show us that He loves us so much that He wants to see us in Heaven with Him. Jesus wanted to be an example of all the things we need to do to fight the devil with Him.
True death is existing in hell forever. When we follow God’s commandments, we in turn are given the gift of heaves, in eternal life with the Father.
We need Jesus to make it to heaven Jesus helps us in tough times.
Jesus is claiming to be greater than Abraham to the Jews and they are getting angry and confused. Jesus says whoever keeps his word will not taste death but he is not talking about death on this world he is saying they will have eternal life in heaven with him and the father.
“Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.” I believe this is saying that we should believe in Him and we should spread the good news. We should keep God in our life. He is there for us so we should be there for Him by telling others the good news about Jesus Christ. He is the one who died for us so why don’t we do something for Him?
Jesus once again says He is God. He says if we keep his word we will never see death. We need to believe in Him and we need to go out and profess our faith. No matter what we go through we always have to keep our faith with us.
In this scripture Jesus tells us that he is the Son of God. He is revealing and telling us that Heaven is real. He also says “whoever keeps my word will never see death.” If we believe what he is saying that Heaven is real we will get there and live eternal life with him and God in Heaven.
what the scripture is telling me is that jesus wasnt afraid of death because he knew he was going to die anyway. But Jesus knew it was not yet his time so thats why he his and left the temple area. Jesus was trying to teach them that the Father glorifies you and not prophets of God.
I think this scripture is about how even though you might be the only one to think something is right and everyone disagrees with you, that does not mean that we should hide what we know is right. Jesus was the only one who believed that we have life after death if we do not sin. So they threw stones at him. He did not stop preaching though, he continued to teach until they killed him.
The Jews are angry because what Jesus says is very radical. Even though it is radical, it is true. Like He said, “If I say I do not know Him, I would like you be a liar.” Jesus keeps His word and promise up until the day He dies.
Today’s Gospel is telling us to hold firm in our faith as Jesus did. He sets a very good example of holding His ground. The people don’t understand and try to call Him a liar, but He knows He is ‘I AM’.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” I think this sentence has a very strong meaning. If we follow God and spread His word, we will get a chance to have eternal life in Heaven with Him.
In today’s Scripture, Jesus says “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” This means you will never feel death because you will be with God, and you will be happy when you get to Heaven, For God is there, with all the angels and saints.
“If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing;
but it is my Father who glorifies me,
of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
This scripture is telling us that to be fullfilled we need God to be in us. Without God’s grace we are just animals, but with God we have a conscience and a free will that allows us to become closer to Him.
Sometimes what God says to us we can’t understand. Like the Jews they thought That if you kept God’s word you would live forever. He means you will have eternal life in heaven with him. Sometimes we don’t see the full story but someday we will know.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” What i saw in this was that Jesus was saying that if we keep God close to us we will not die but raise into heaven with him. God will always want us and will never revoke us and he will guide us to the correct path of life.
Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know him and I keep his word. Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was glad.” We all know who God is. He is our Father, We may not know Him. But we know Him. Just we don’t know every little thing about our dad. We rejoice to Him and be glad. He is our father in Heaven. And one day we will see Him. He loves us so much He sent his son to die on the cross and open the gates of Heaven so we could see Him one day.
Jesus said to the Jews:“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.”So the Jews said to him,“Now we are sure that you are possessed.Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say,‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.’ I think Gods trying to tell us the reward of listening to the word. He says if you listen and follow his path you never see death. To me that means you go to heaven for eternity, which it is and all he says to do is follow what he says and the reward will come to you.
In this scripture Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” So i think this means that we have to follow and spread Gods word to get to heaven. Later in the scripture He also said “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” But the Jews didn’t believe him and they threw rocks at him. We have to believe God and what He is teaching us.
In this scripture Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” So i think this means that we have to follow and spread Gods word to get to heaven. Later in the scripture He also said “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM,” But the Jews didn’t believe him and they threw rocks at him. We have to believe God and what He is teaching us.
A phrase that stuck out to me was this one: “Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.” I like this quote because it acts as a reassuring statement. It means that whoever listens to God, believes Him, and follows Him will go to heaven. We keep his word by following His example.
Even Jesus in this scripture doesn’t like to talk himself up. He refused to glorify himself when He knew what He’s capable of. Jesus says that if you believe in Him completely you will live through Him in Heaven and not even taste death.
I think it is telling us that we have to have a relationship with God. We can’t just say we are catholic and not actually practice our faith. We can’t force our love to him but actually fall in love with him.
Jesus is telling the Jews that he is the true God once again. In scripture today it says “Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
before Abraham came to be, I AM.” Jesus keeps trying and trying to get the Jews to see that he is God but they don’t believe him. They even threw stones at him because that’s how much they do not believe in him.
Jesus doesn’t glorify himself. Jesus is God. We are made in the image and likeness of God. If you connect these ideas, you can understand that we aren’t called to glorify ourselves either. God glorified Jesus, so we know that we are called to “glorify” (compliment and lift up) those around us. Not tear them down to “glorify” ourselves.
I think the scripture is saying that we must not have pride and glorify ourselves. Having pride will make us not listen and ignore God’s call. Jesus came down and told us He was the Son of God, yet we condemned Him. He had no ego and did whatever God told Him to do. People did not like Him because He said He was the Son of God and knows the Father. We all know the Father as well yet we never seem to listen to Him and acknowledge His presence in daily life. Jesus came down to save us and help us reach Heaven and to do that He had to lay down His life, listen to the Father instead of trying to boost your pride and be kind.
I think the Scripture is saying we have to truly believe in Jesus. “AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, WHOEVER KEEPS MY WORD WILL NEVER SEE DEATH.” JN 8:51-59 I think this is also saying Jesus wants us to go to Heaven. Heaven is our goal as Catholics. We want to be with our Lord after we die. If we want to go to Heaven we have to believe in Jesus and always love Him.
“If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing” Jesus says we can’t glorify ourselves. We need Jesus to do it for us. We need to listen to his words and teachings, and live our life according to his teachings.
“Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar.” I think today’s scripture is saying that we need to recognize God not our self. He is what makes us have beauty and an everlasting life.
It is saying that we shouldn’t sin against God if we do then we will feel death, but if we don’t then we have a peaceful life in Heaven. We should try our best to go to confession as much as we can to feel pure. We need to stay away from the things that make us make bad choices.
In the scripture today I think that it was telling me that we have to believe in Jesus and know who He is and we know that He is here. It was talking about Jesus when He was talking to the Jews that if they don’t know God than they are all liars because the Son of God Jesus was standing and talking to them. I just think this is telling us that when we lie Jesus knows that we are and we might have to face consequences.
“You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” So they picked up stones to throw at him;” Nobody ever believed that Jesus was the Son of Man. They never beveled that Jesus was ‘I AM’. As Christians, we should go out and preach to people who don’t believe.
Jesus’s word is The Way, The Truth, and The Life in which we must live by. His word is the Gospel and what will lead us to heaven. Not everyone believes in him.
When God said if we keep His word we would not die he does not mean on earth. We will all die on earth sometime no matter what, but when He means is heaven or hell. Hell is the equivalent to death, and heaven is the equivalent of life. If we do not keep God’s word we will die, but if we keep it we will live. Give yourself to God and trust that He will have your back. Put God’s words in your life, and never run away from them.
Jesus is telling the people, once again, ‘I AM.” Jesus is telling them He is God. If you believe in Him, you will not see death, is what He says. By this, I think He means that when you believe in Jesus, you will go to heaven. I think He is telling us to not doubt Him, and trust His word.
“Who do you make yourself out to be?” I think this goes with our “who are you in christ” vibe in class because if we make ourselves look like someone who bullies others some people wont like you, but if you are nice a lot of people will come to respect you more, and youll be getting closer to heaven.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” This part stuck out to me because it is saying that if we believe and love Jesus then we will never see death. This means that we need to preach about Him and tell everyone about Him. We need to spend time praying to Him and loving him.
“And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar.” Jesus could have saved himself a whole lot of pain and suffering if he had just not said he was God’s son, yet he DIED for us, this shows how truly selfless Jesus is. We do so little for him, yet he offers us happiness beyond anything that we have ever felt or ever will feel in this mortal life. If he died for us, it shows how much he truly cares for us.
In this scripture reflection Jesus says that whoever keeps my word will not find death. What this means is if you keep Jesus close to your heart then you will never die aka make it to Heaven so we need to keep Jesus and what he says close to our heart so we may live with him forever.
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” if we ever lose faith in God we will see death but if we stay following God all the time we will never see death and we will go to heaven. We need to spread the word of God and help others to God.
Jesus is taking off the gloves and using fighting words with the Jews now. They picked up stones to throw at Him. Jesus is continuing to stand firm that He is the Son of God and one with the Father who sent Him. I love this since He is standing in front of the Jews preaching the gospel and not even worrying about his own life since they were going to stone him. Jesus stood in front of death and preached the word that is courageous.
Today the scripture is telling me that even when others don’t believe us we should always stand for what’s right. Today Jesus stood his ground as the Jews picked up stones to throw at him. he stands his ground because he is doing what is right and spreading God’s word. He is the son of God but they wont accept it Jesus is standing up for whats right just like we should in our lives.
What stuck out to me is that Jesus tells the Jews that if they keep his word they will not see death. This stuck out to me because to me its basically saying that if we keep his word and believe in him that we will have eternal life with him.
“Before Abraham came to be, I AM.” Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit existed long before time existed. Jesus and God loved each other so much, that They wanted to share that love with us. So He created people to love, and families to share the joy of togetherness. God wants us to be with our family. He wants us to build relationships with each other. So build ties with the people you love, and God will always love you.
We have to break free from temptation and follow Jesus
I think God is trying to tell us to be humble and the only person better than us is God. I think he is also trying to tell us that we shouldn’t doubt the impossible. People attempted to stone Jesus because he said he has seen Abraham at such a young age
Jesus is God. He said that He is God in the scripture on Tuesday and He says it again Today (Thursday). The Jews, however, didnt believe in Him. That is what is happening today. We are occupying our time with stuff that dont lead us closer to God. We MUST stop what we are doing, and give up time to pray to God.
What would you do if someone said ‘ I am God’ ? Probably wouldn’t think they were telling the truth right? That’ s what the Jews thought about Jesus even though He healed them. If we refuse to love God even after He has performed miracles are we any better than the Jews?? Jesus is our savior and if we don’ t love Him than we need to figure out how to.
The Jews thought that Jesus was speaking blasphemy, because they couldn’t open their eyes to the truth. We NEED to open our eyes and rejoice in God, for we don’t deserve His love, but we get it.
“Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.” God died for us. When we die, our eyes are opened to an eternal life in Heaven or hell, but it is our choice of which one we go to. If we follow Jesus we will go to Heaven, and be happy forever.
If we lose faith in God then we will not see heaven but if we continue to love God we will see heaven.
In this scripture reflection Jesus says that who will ever keep my word will not find death. I think this means we have to keep Jesus close to him and try not to sin.
Jesus is revealing himself to us we should always listen to him. we should never turn our backs on him. we will always be there for us we should never take advantage of that.
Jesus reveals to us who he is today. Even though we understand who Jesus is, He was ridiculed by the Jews. We must trust Jesus as we trust in others.
Jesus sacrificed and revealed himself for us. A lot of people don’t know what that means or don’t appreciate it. God loves us and would do anything for us even by sending his only son to die for us. He wants us to make eternal life in heaven with him. He tells us his word in the bible, so that way we can read it.
