“YOU, A MAN, ARE MAKING YOURSELF GOD.” JN 10:31-42
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus.
Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father.
For which of these are you trying to stone me?”
The Jews answered him,
“We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy.
You, a man, are making yourself God.”
Jesus answered them,
“Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, ‘You are gods”‘?
If it calls them gods to whom the word of God came,
and Scripture cannot be set aside,
can you say that the one
whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world
blasphemes because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me;
but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me,
believe the works, so that you may realize and understand
that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
Then they tried again to arrest him;
but he escaped from their power.
He went back across the Jordan
to the place where John first baptized, and there he remained.
Many came to him and said,
“John performed no sign,
but everything John said about this man was true.”
And many there began to believe in him. JN 10:31-42
Jesus reveals two things today: 1. Scripture cannot be set aside and 2. “the Father is in me and I am in the Father”. Bold. Radical. He forces us to make a decision. Either we believe He is God who came into the world to save humanity from their sins or don’t and condemn ourselves eternally.
Why would Jesus say these things to the Jews? He knows stoning and death are the consequence for what He is claiming. He doesn’t back down and He continues to repeat himself in John’s Gospel adamantly that He is the Son of God and He is one with God. We have not even included the Bread of Life Discourse when Jesus tells us we must eat His Flesh and drink His Blood.
Many of His own followers leave Him at this point. He doesn’t change His testimony even when many close followers walked away. Would you continue to stand up for the Truth even if people you are close to walked away? Jesus is on a mission to do the Will of the Father and save humanity. He is about to follow through.
Jesus speaks Truth, it is revealed in the Scriptures which “cannot be set aside”, comes from the Father, and gives us hope. Jesus can’t preach anything different. There is no other Divine Revelation, there is no other Creator. The Father of love, mercy, and Truth who allows us to call Him “Daddy” is the one True God. It is very difficult to believe, we need God’s grace and faith, but most importantly we need to make a decision in our heart to believe and be open to this grace.
Today’s challenge: “And many there began to believe in him.” JN 10:42 Is your heart closer to Jesus since you started your Lenten journey or are you left with just a desire to be able to eat chocolate again? Take time each day to talk to Jesus, but most importantly sit in silence and listen.

Bible Study Questions
1. What is Jesus’s answer to the claim of the Jews that He is not blaspheming, but truly is God and Man?
2. What works has Jesus performed that were prophesied about Him by the prophets in the Old Testament?
3. How can you apply this Gospel to your own life?
that jesua had die for us to save or sool and frigve or sins and gave us afree oor sins
In this Gospel, Jesus teaches us to believe that He is the Son of God. We should not be like the Jews who did not have their hearts opened to Jesus’ love. We should believe in Jesus because of all of the signs He has given to us. He did many miracles in front of the Jews yet still did not believe that He is God. Even everything about Jesus said by John the Baptist became true. Therefore we must believe that Jesus is truly our God.
They were trying to stone jesus because he was telling the truth and spreading God’s will and word through the teachings they thought that this was blasphemy.
In today’s scripture and yesterday’s scripture the people are trying to stone Him but He gets away because it is not His time yet. They want to kill an innocent man because He says He is God. He does not just say it. He shows them proof and they still do not believe it. Jesus could do anything and they won’t believe it because they are blinded by sin. If we are ever blinded by sin we can remember all the Christ has done for us and be thankful and return back to HIm.
Jesus truly is the Son of God. Even when He is being persecuted and insulted, when people completely turn their backs on Him, He stands with the Father and continues to do good works. We should follow His example everyday and think about how our words and actions will affect others. Stand strong in what you believe in and never falter. Jesus is the ultimate example and we should always strive to be like Him.
What reached out to me was when they said, “John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true.” What this means to me is that there will probably not be solid evidence that our faith is true, but that’s the point. Our religion is built around us having faith in Jesus, and that’s exactly what we have to do. When times are rough we just need to have faith in Him.
The Jews picked up stones to throw at Jesus, because they didn’t believe Him. They told Him that He was lying and was blaspheming. Even though He was telling the truth. Jesus told us that even if you do not believe me believe the works. Jesus is the only one who is able to bless and do miracles and He proves it yet we still don’t believe. That is so confusing to me.
Jesus knows the consequences for what He is saying. Because He knows it is the truth, He is willing to be stoned for it. Jesus speaks the truth and it is up to us to believe it. No matter if we believe it or not, the truth is the truth.
Your Lenten sacrifice is something that you must take seriously. Giving something up for Lent is not about giving things up just because you feel like you have to. It’s about growing closer to Jesus. Jesus sacrificed everything for you. Lent is a time to grow in faith. It’s a time to learn how to put Jesus first, and other things second. We fast during Lent so that we can put Jesus in the center of our lives. It’s more than giving something up, it’s putting Jesus first. Giving up something is a choice. It’s your choice. It’s your choice whether or not you want to put Jesus first.
In todays reading Jesus’ closest friends are put to the test and the Jews as well. IN the reading The Jews are getting ready to stone Jesus and he preaches to them asking why they are doing this to him and all they can say is because he speaks blasphemy which is wrong Jesus only speaks the truth to us.
Do you believe that Jesus is who he says? Do we believe that he is the Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, Our Father. He can´t do anything more than reveal it to us. We have to believe in His words. We have to go through scripture and learn. We have to look at our custom and tradition. It is all up to you, open your self up to him or not. When you do, you will see the real way for your life, and your purpose. Jesus does nothing but help you. He open and full to Him. He won´t turn us away. Let´s practice this for the rest of Lent.
A phrase that stuck out to me was “We are not stoning you for good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God.” This phrase means to me that back then they thought that Jesus was not the son of man and they are waiting for him. They are still waiting for the Messiah to come. Another reason I like this phrase is that if someone back then was saying he was God they would be put in Jail everyone knew that so i was surprised that they think he would be blasphemer.
The Jews don’t believe that Jesus is the Savior. They think he is a man claiming to be Jesus. We don’t believe in that. Jesus performed hundreds of miracles and fulfilled even more prophecies. There are hundreds of religions around the world and a lot of them have different beliefs and believe that theirs is the correct one. When proclaimed His Words and said he was the Son of God, it angered those who thought otherwise. They disliked him so much they tortured and killed him. They stoned him because of his words. He died for us and we just don’t care a lot. We need to open our ears and hearts to the Word of God.
In Scriptures, the Jews are trying to stone Jesus. Instead of running away, Jesus stays there and keeps telling them that He is the Son of God. He knows that if they stone Him He will die, but it doesn’t matter because Jesus will die and conquer it. Jesus is God and He came to conquer death for us.
Do we want to be like the jews or jesus? Deep down in our hearts the answer is Jesus, but sometimes we act like the jews. In today’s gospel it talks about how the jews started throwing rocks at jesus. They did this because they didn’t believe that he was the living son of God. As disciples of Christ we can do this too. When we talk behind someone’s back or gossip we are like the jews. We may not have literally thrown rocks at someone, but we can persecute them with our words. For he says, Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. As we reflect on the gospel passage today let’s make sure that we treat everyone with respect, righteousness and kindness
Jesus in the scripture is saying that he is the son of God but none of them believe him. The people from the Jordan river believe him because everything that John the Baptist said about Jesus was true.
The Jews answered him, “We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God.” What the Jews are missing is the Holy Trinity because we believe in one god in three Persons The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are all God so Jesus is God but not the Father instead he is what he revealed to be which is the Son.
“We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy.
You, a man, are making yourself God.”
this is the good works him saying he is God is apart of these good works they talk about
Jesus loves everyone. He heals the injured, he loves the sinners, he loves every living being. He is one with the father, but the jews don’t believe him. But he still loves them. Jesus loves everything, everyone, every person who has walked the earth. even when we sin, He will never stop loving us.
Today in scripture we learn that Jesus was trying to spread the word of God. Everything he said was true, the jews didn’t believe him, so they stoned him. My favorite part of scripture was, “the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
People were trying to kill Jesus by stoning him but Jesus stayed there for us. He didn’t run but he stayed. He wanted to save us and he knew it was gonna be painful but he didn’t care he wanted to save us.
Jesus never stopped talking about the father even when they would threaten him he would still preach and speak of God. Jesus gave his life up and we still don´t really care that much. We need to truly hear and listen to God on what hes saying to us hes always speaking to us. Jesus has done everything to reveal himself to us we just need to have faith .
Jesus is about to get stoned for blaspheme. He says He is the Son of God but the Jews don’t believe Him. Jesus says this, ” have shown you many good works from my Father.
For which of these are you trying to stone me?” They don’t realize that Jesus was sent by God and they think that He is just another prophet who is being false. Which as we know He is the Son of God. We need to realize that Jesus is real and He is the Son of God. He is I AM. He is everything. Believe.
In the scripture it says that they were going to stone Jesus because he was preaching the word of God to the world. But some of the people were listening to him and the others wanted him to be stoned.
We need to be believing of God the Father that he is who he says he is if we do this and keep a strong relationship with him we can get somewhere great someday but if not you are comdenming yourself cause your faults aren’t gods decisions for he gave us free will.
Now the jews are starting to question and get angry at Jesus. They keep trying to arrest him and stone him but they don’t, because his time for death has not came yet. Jesus is trying to say that we are not going to be given proof or evidence that he is real or 100% assurance, we have to believe.
Jesus had the boldness to tell people that he was the son of God or the Savior, we should have that same boldness with us in our own lives. Do not be afraid to share your own faith, we will be faced with all these people in our adult lives that will be questioning us about our faith and just being annoying in general, so we also must know our faith very well, read the bible every night and things just as simple as that so we can start to know Jesus better and have that boldness that he had when he told the Jews that He was the messiah.
In this Gospel Jesus is saying ” If you do not believe in me, believe my works”. The reason the Jews tried to pick up stones and stone him was because they did not understand that God sent him. The Jews thought that God would appear as some great conqueror that would set them free of the Romans, and would rule like King David. God sent Jesus to be a meek example of how to enter a spiritual kingdom in which he was the king.
“Even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” The Jews do not beleive that Jesus was really God. God has given them so much proof, in fact thats all he’s given them. Not once in the bible does he dissmiss someone. Not once has he not healed someone. He calmed down raging storms. And the jews don’t beleive. They think that the savior is supposed to be a warrior and fight to save them. But God comes and tells them that he is there to save there souls, their spiritual life.
Jesus knows the consequences for what He is saying. Because He knows it is the truth, He is willing to be stoned for it. Jesus speaks the truth and it is up to us to believe it. No matter if we believe it or not, the truth is the truth.
Jesus in the scripture reflection said he was the son of God and everyone else laughed and make fun of him and didnt believe him. But the people at the Jordan river believed him because they were in Gods presence and everything John the Baptist said about him were true.
What stuck out to me was that Many of His own followers leave Him at this point. He doesn’t change His testimony even when many close followers walked away. Would you continue to stand up for the Truth even if people you are close to walked away? Jesus is on a mission to do the Will of the Father and save humanity. He is about to follow through. This stuck out to me because it tells us how we have to stand up for whats right even when no one else is.
We are the children of god and We have some of our Father and the father makes us choose our way and our path. We can either believe we are with the father or forgotten in a mist. God made Jesus so he can preach and wouldn’t lie about the bible or himself. Don’t forget the bible.
In this Gospel, Jesus teaches us to believe that He is the Son of God. We should believe in Jesus because of all of the signs He has given to us. He did many miracles in front of the Jews yet still did not believe that He is God, everything John the Baptist said about Jesus became true.
He doesn’t back down and He continues to repeat himself in John’s Gospel to say that He is the Son of God. Would you continue to stand up for the Truth even if people start to judge you and say things behind you back It is very difficult to believe, we need God’s grace and faith, but most importantly we need to believe that God is with us.
Instead of taking into consideration what Jesus was saying, the Jews automatically deemed his claims of being the son of God as blasphemy. If they would have really listened to Jesus, they may have changed their minds, and realized Jesus was being truthful, and was in fact the son of God. We should work on listening to other peoples feelings instead of immediately disregarding peoples feelings for no reason.
In the reading the Jews want to stone Jesus because they think he is lying about being the Son of God. Jesus makes himself known to us at mass and in scriptures.
The Jews were trying to stone Jesus because He is telling people the truth about God, but the Jews don’t believe Him
The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?” The Jews answered him, We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy. This stuck out to me because today no one would even give a second thought about someone saying there God but to the Jews back then it was such a big deal that they tried to kill him.
Jesus tell first century Jew and it’s this is week is all Jews going after Jesus
Believe Jesus and his laws and works. He does so much for us and performs miracles for us even when we don’t believe in him. He believes in us and loves us even when we don’t believe in him. The Jews told of the blasphemy of his crimes but Jesus did not commit any crimes or blasphemy, he was just saving us and we killed him. Despite that though he loves us so we have to believe in his mercy, love, miracles and most importantly him.
Again with the Jews not believing that Jesus is God and God is Jesus. Jesus tells them that it is ok they don’t believe in Him but at least believe in the works that He does. That is really powerful because Jesus told us that He wants you to believe in His works. Believe in all the works He does in your life every single day.
What God is saying is that Jesus had no free will but had to live out his Fathers word. We also do that but with free will and the Fathers word. So when Jesus went to go get stoned by the people that wasn’t his choice but his Fathers choice.
God does not condemn us, we condemn ourselves. We can choose to either believe Jesus is God or suffer in Hell. Jesus speaks truth. We need God’s grace and we need faith but we also need to have an open heart so we can receive it.
Have Faith and you will be saved, the Jews did not believe that Jesus was really God. But the people at the Jordan River believed because they had Faith and believed that what John the Baptism was saying is true.
Today I think the scripture is telling me that We have to believe in Jesus. Jesus shows us 100 prophecies fulfilled by him. Jesus says in the scripture that you don’t believe my words, then believe me actions. we all know what Jesus did in his life. Why do we still not believe. why do we still have doubts that Jesus is God that we will save us, that he died for us. Jesus is for real. we have 12 eye witness accounts and that’s still not enough for you? Jesus reveals himself in every Gospel this week! We have to come to believe in Jesus words and actions unlike the Jews, who didn’t believe in either. We need to deepen our faith with Jesus words from the scripture and try our best to model his actions.
Sometimes we need to ask ourselves if we are acting like Jesus or the Jews. Obviously we want to act like Jesus and not sin, obey God, follow the will of the Father, but we are human, we aren’t perfect, we sin and don’t obey God sometimes. In this Gospel Jesus is telling us that we need to be more like Him. God loves us so much, we sin against Him and fall into temptation, but God gave us confession so we can come to Him in Heaven.
Forgiving people is hard. Especially when the person you need to forgive keeps doing the thing you need to forgive them for. But forgiveness is something you have to constantly work at. Getting over a grudge is a difficult process that could take days, months, or even years. But it´s so worth it to get through the process.
The Jews don’t believe that what Jesus is saying is true. They don’t trust in the Lord. Jesus is seriously telling them straight to their face that he is the Son of God. Sometimes it’s right in front of our face but we don’t recognize it. Pray to God to help you see what you aren’t seeing.
Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father.
For which of these are you trying to stone me?” God has gave us many good things but still we sin and are sins are stones. Are sins stoned Jesus and crucified Him. But he still as he was dying thought about us and cared and died for us and our sins.
When we reject Jesus and the fact that He is God, we are only hurting ourselves by making our relationship with God more distant. God never moves away from us, but we move away from Him. A way we can strengthen our relationship with Him is believing in Him and spreading the news that Jesus is our Savior
What stuck out to me was “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?” Jesus was doing the good of the Father and how did the Jews repay him? They stoned him for speaking the truth of the Lord. We should trust what Jesus is telling us and not punish him for it. He is here willing to help us and tell us more about the Father. We need to go to him and He will be there for us always.
Jesus was true to His words and was true to us but even then they didnt believe Him until they were talking about John. what the scripture is telling me is to have close friends whom you can trust to help you through anythiing like john did for Jesus by saving Him from being stoned.
The Jews tried to throw stones at Jesus because they didn’t believe Him even though He was telling the truth. We need to truly believe in God and believe that He is our savior. He has done so much for us, more than we will ever know or be able to understand. We just need to show him that we truly believe in Him.
I think this scripture is about how the Jews refused to believe that Jesus was God. Jesus had preformed miracles and done God’s work. yet they still called him only human. People can choose what they see. If they do not like someone they only see them in a bad perspective. If you think they are a good person you will only see what is good about them.
The Jews are trying to stone Jesus but he asked them which one of the good things he has done that they are trying to stone him for.
Jesus only did good for people he didn’t deserve to die and to be persecuted he only ever did what was best for us.
In life many people will disagree with you on many things. In faith we need to stay strong and stick to what we believe in and preach and not be afraid. God is with us so there is no fear present in us. we just have to trust in him and he will trust in us.
The Jews are going to stone Jesus because they think he is blaspheming. This is similar to what happens on Earth. People don’t think Jesus is going to come and save us again, or that Jesus is even real so they do bad things, and whatever they want.
“You, a man, are making yourself God.” This stood out to me because the Jews never did believe that He was God. They thought that He was lying about who He was. He is who He says He is and I believe in Him. Trust in the Lord. They believed that He was only human but He is not. Just like how people think that we’re just human, we are but we are not, we are children of God. He created us both body-soul.
“John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true.” John had foretold Jesus’ coming. But remember, the Jews imagined the Messiah as a warlord, someone who would free them from the Romans. So when Jesus comes along, this kind, gentle man from Bethlehem, no one belives him when he says he is the Son of God. We shouldn’t assume things based on what we want, because we don’t know what we really need until we recieve it. Only God knows what we need, and we need to trust Him in that.
What stuck out to me was “We are not stoning you for good work but for blasphemy.
You, a man, are making yourself God.” This stuck out to me because it is saying the Jews didn’t think Jesus was truly God. Jesus died for our sins and we should aperciate him more.
The Jews picked up rocks because they did not like Jesus. They did not believe that Jesus was our lord and stoned Him for blasphemy. One part that stuck out to me was when Jesus was telling the jews that he has only done good.
Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father.
The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus.Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?” I think today ´ s gospel is trying to tell us about betrayal. He says He has done all this stuff for you and people still do the wrong thing. For example Jesus died on the cross for us and we are still doing drugs cussing not going to mass. All this stuff Jesus told us not to do and we still do it.
In today’s gospel, Jesus is telling us to believe in Him. He has given many hints that He is the Son of Man. The Jews were blinded by the devil and their other gods, so they couldn’t believe in Him. We have to believe.
Today the Jews try to kill Jesus by stoning Him. The Jews don’t believe that He is the true son of God and some of us today don’t believe He is also. We can’t just run through the motions but we have to truly believe in Him so that we can have eternal happiness.
This scripture is telling us that we should not hate, like what Father said at mass. We should not hate on Jesus because we have no right to judge, only God does.
“Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “We are not stoning you for good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God.” I think that this scripture reflection shows how our faith is with God at times. We ask and ask and ask but when He shows we say, That’s not good enough. We need to see that God knows what is best for us.
Jesus mentions the scriptures today. “Scripture cannot be set aside, can you say that the one whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world blasphemes because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me; but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” Jesus reminds them that it is God, and questions how they will listen to scripture but not to him.
We all think that rules now are so harsh and one thing and you get in trouble, but look back in Jesus’s time He almost got stoned because he told lies. If that’s not harsh then I don’t know what is. Jesus ended up persuading the Jews into dropping the stones and believing in Him, but we all need to know that everything in our lives have a purpose and a reason.
A piece of scripture that stuck out to me was this one. “even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father” Jesus is God, we know that. But if we didn’t believe that He is, then we have to at least believe His good works come from God. Jesus and God are one, so what Jesus does, the Father willed it and did it too.
Welcome back to the Jews’ feelings on Jesus. Today we have reached the point violence. After all this fear of Jesus, and then the jealousy, they lash out. Surely, if they killed the Son of God, he wouldn’t be very Godly anymore, right?
The Jews picked up stones to throw at Jesus, because they didn’t believe Him. They told Him that He was lying and was blaspheming. Even though He was telling the truth.
This scripture is talking about how the Jews say that Jesus is saying blasphemy and how he really isn´t God but Jesus say right away tat the father is in him and that the father is doing miracles through him and when he went to the place where he was baptized it was obvious that he was the son of man.
In the Scripture today I think that it was telling us that Jesus is God and there is no other gods you should believe in other than the true Jesus Son of God Himself. It is a commandment that we should not have other God’s before Him. I think that sometimes maybe we get carried away from Jesus maybe its social media, video games, etc. We need to just put them down and just talk to Jesus for a little have a time when we talk with Him.
God is asking us a question. Are we going to follow him and trust him? Or are we going to live our life in sin? That is a choice we personally have to make. Our parents, after a certain age, can’t force us to pray and go to church. We must believe in him. The sooner we fall in love with him the sooner we will reach eternal life in Heaven with overflowing joy.
Jesus is showing the Jews almost everything that he is God. Yet, they don’t believe him. Even with that Jesus wants them to at least believe in the works of God. It says today, “believe the works, so that you may realize and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
I think the Scripture is saying Jesus is the true son of God. The Jews stoned Jesus because of what He was saying. Jesus was speaking the truth and in return he was stoned. We have to believe that Jesus is the true son of God.
I think the scripture is saying that the people who came to stone Jesus did so just because they thought He was lying and blasphemous. How could He be spreading blasphemy when He had been performing miracles and good acts through the Father? He said He was the Son of God because of this yet still no one believed Him. I think they did this because of their ignorance to actually see and listen to the good acts being done. They did not pay attention so they did not believe.
It is saying that Jesus is telling everyone that he is God and the people didn’t believe Him. They didn’t like him saying that He was God so they wanted to stone Him. They want him to die, but Jesus didn’t do anything wrong. He only helped people.
Jesus is not afraid. When people walk away from him, he did not change. When people were going to kill him, he did not change. God will stand by His no matter the cost. He will stand by us no matter the cost as well. We are never alone. When we feel low or like we don’t know what to do in this world, He is with us. Ask Him. That is all you have to do.
Jesus is at this point exasperated with the Jews. He has told them time and time again that “I AM GOD.” Do they listen? Nope.
Alright, now think of yourself as a Jew. Do you listen? Nope.
BACK TO THE JEWS: Does God give up on the Jews? Nope.
BACK TO US: Does God give up on us? Nope.
The parallels we could make between ourselves and the Jews could go on and on and on. But I want to focus on one particular point: Jesus has been preaching to the Jews for how long? A long time. And how many times has He gone, “Well……..see ya! Bye. Hope you find your way to Heaven and perfect union with the Father without me.” Never. So He does the same for you. How often has He left you? Never. When will he leave you? Never.
No matter the circumstances, God is always by your side.
No matter what, GOD IS WITH YOU.
Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jn 14:6. Jesus has a job. And that’s to lead the world — and you — to Heaven. He will never fail. Trust Him always.
In today’s scripture Jesus was almost stone by the people becuase they thought he blasphemed even though he healed and performed so many miracles. Jesus still loved the people even after they tried to stone him even after they crucified him even after they spit on his face. After all he has done for us some of us can’t even love him back
In this scripture it has Jesus speaking to the Jews about him being God and them wanting to hurt him.Even though Jesus tells them that it is said that he would come in the scripture. What we have to do is really believe in Jesus and listen to him because he only tells us the truth.
Jesus speaks Truth, it is revealed in the Scriptures which “cannot be set aside”, comes from the Father, and gives us hope. Jesus can’t preach anything different. God is the truth and the life within us. When have you ever heard in the bible that God lied I can tell you probably never He tells the truth and the truth is, is that He loves us unconditionally.
I find it interesting that a lot of the time, Jesus gets cornered by the Jews, or some sort of crowd, And yet, every time Jesus escapes, but the only thing that the gospels say is, “And He passed through their midst.” or ” He escaped from their power.” It never says how, or embellishes it. In fact, it is kind of diminishing the fact that Jesus literally escapes, without anyone noticing. Jesus is being humble in prompting the apostles to write such simple things.
“so that you may realize and understand” I think this lentwe need to try harder to really listen to God so we can “realize and understand” what he is trying to say to us.
We have a choice. We always have a choice. It’s like a fork in the road you can go one way or the other. Sometimes we don’t choose the best choice but Jesus will always guide us back. The Jews today were given a choice too. Follow God or say He was speaking blasphemy. Jesus is calling, will you answer?
I think this is trying to say that we need to trust in God and never doubt him. He has our whole lives planned out for us,the good and the bad. Everything that happens to us is for a reason. God never wants to hurt us so if something bad happens to us its for a reason and will teach us some type of lesson.
“John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true.” originally, we didn’t believe Jesus when he said he was the son of God. we believed John the Baptist, who did not perform any miracles, over Jesus, the true son of God. we can be so dumbfoundingly ignorant towards true, godly power.
Today scripture tells me that we should listen to the scripture and not stray from it. Even so we should still choose to believe Jesus in the fact that he is God and God is with him. because of the miraculous events that he has performed. we have no reason not to believe in him. He is not just saying and claiming to be God he is God and he has performed miraculous deeds.
No matter how many times Jesus says that he is the son of God they still try to kill him and in a week he is crucified and dies on the cross for our sins.
“The Father is in me and I am in the Father.” Jesus is God and God is Jesus. The Holy Spirit is God and God is the Holy Spirit. God is one man with 3 divine persons. We should all realize that God is always with us. When we receive communion, God enters our bodies.
I think today’s Gospel is telling me that I need to think about who I am acting like, God or the Jews. We all want to be like God and obey Him but that isn’t how it always works. Sometimes we think God is wrong and we are right so we don’t have to listen to Him. That isn’t true. We pick up our stones to throw at Jesus but then we put them down because we realize He is right.
What stuck out to me is that Jesus stays calm when the Jews pick up rocks to stone him. This stuck out to me because Jesus doesn’t let the Jews get to him, he just stays calm, to me this is important because I always let people get to me and then I get angry.
The Jews picked up rocks to throw at Jesus, ready to kill Him for proclaiming that He was the son of our Heavenly Father. John defended Him, because he didn’t care what happened to Him if Jesus was okay. We need to be like John.
Jesus is telling us that He is God. Did the Jews believe? No. Well maybe some but that’s not the point. When Jesus died, people were resurrected from the dead, the world was dark for hours, and the curtain in the temple was torn. After that some did believe that Jesus was the Son of God. BUT HE IS GOD! We must believe in God.
Jesus=God, God=Jesus. We were created by Him and yet, we refuse to follow Him. Those who follow Him will have eternal life and those who deny Him will be separated from Him forever.
we all have our own free will we. God trust us to use it for good he gave us free will because he loves us he will never not. we have out choice whether or not to follow him we should always choose God
The Jews did not believe Jesus was God. No matter how many times Jesus says that he is the Son of God they still try to kill Him because they cannot and do not want to see Him as God.
People were trying to kill Jesus by stoning, and nailing him to a cross. They tried everything that they could to kill him. But Jesus stayed there for us. He didn’t run but he stayed. He wanted to save us and he knew it was gonna be painful but he didn’t care he wanted to save us and bring us back to him

i think this scripture is on how many people leave jesus and fall away from the church and he still holds his hand out for them and doesnt stop preaching his word.
“The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus.” We stone Jesus when we sin. Every time we sin we crucify him again. But Jesus still loves us and he continues to help us even though we hurt him. We need to try harder to please him try to sin less.
Jesus can’t preach anything different. There is no other Divine Revelation, there is no other Creator.
we do not decide the consequence of others actions. we only decide the fate of ours. every choice we make follows us whether its good or bad. if we just have bad choice following us we will have a bad consequence. If good choices the opposite. so we must strive to do good.
