Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
The angel Gabriel was sent from God
to a town of Galilee called Nazareth,
to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph,
of the house of David,
and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And coming to her, he said,
“Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”
But she was greatly troubled at what was said
and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.
Then the angel said to her,
“Do not be afraid, Mary,
for you have found favor with God.
“Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
and you shall name him Jesus.
He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High,
and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father,
and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever,
and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
But Mary said to the angel,
“How can this be,
since I have no relations with a man?”
And the angel said to her in reply,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
Therefore the child to be born
will be called holy, the Son of God.
And behold, Elizabeth, your relative,
has also conceived a son in her old age,
and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren;
for nothing will be impossible for God.”
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”
Then the angel departed from her. LK 1:26-38
Happy Feast of the Annunciation!
In Scott Hahn’s book “Joy to the World”, he writes about angels being very present as God brings His Son into the world. The angels appear to Zechariah, Joseph, Mary, the shepherds, and many other Old Testament figures. They are God’s messengers, pure Spirits, highly intelligent, and God loves us so much He gave each one of us our own angel to protect us. When is the last time you talked to your guardian angel? When is the last time you asked God for a miracle? They happen every day and God is present everywhere all of the time. We are reminded of this during Christmas. Emmanuel means “God is with us”.
Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” MT 28:20
“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” MT 18:20 *This is important while we cannot receive the Eucharist. He is truly present when we pray together! We can also make spiritual communions and send our Spirit to Him to visit Him in front of the tabernacle or monstrance any time.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” JN 6:35-40
Jesus makes it very clear that He is present with us and He has the power to save us and lift us up on the last day. The key: holiness. What is holiness according to St. Louis de Montfort, deny yourself. Bishop Barron quotes, “I’m most myself not when I resist God, not when I try to become God, but when I surrender to God.” The key: do the Will of God. How do you know if you are doing God’s Will? Bishop Barron says when we see the fruits of the Spirit in our life: joy, love, peace, modesty, chastity, self-control, kindness, goodness, patience, generosity, gentleness, and faithfulness. Did you pray today? Are you in the state of grace? Are you doing your daily tasks? –Fr. Mike Schmitz
God gave us His Son to reconcile us with Him after the Fall of Adam and Eve. The statement I begin with every blog is, “Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.” Why? The center of the message of Christ coming into the world, during His life, and when He dies is to do the Will of the Father. In the Gospel today, Mary says,”Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. Then the angel departed from her.” LK 1:38 Mary’s fiat and our fiat is how we respond to the Father who is trying to act upon us and whether we allow Him to each day with each decision.
God chose Mary to be the instrument to bring His only Son into the world. On the cross, Jesus asks us to bring Mary into our homes (lives) speaking to John. It is only right for us to ask Mary to intercede for us and bring our souls closer to her Son, so we too may enter into God’s glory. In St. Louis de Montfort’s, “Total Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary”, he claims this consecration is the quickest way to holiness. Therefore, as we begin to humble ourselves before God, submit our will to Him like Jesus, Mary and Joseph, we will begin to become holy. “The Divine became human so the human could become Divine.”-St. Athanasius
Allow God into your heart today and bring a little bit of the Christmas spirit into your heart. Fall to your knees and worship Him with all of the angels. Miracles will abound!
Today’s challenge: Give your heart to God by doing His Will. It requires sacrifice and patience, but sacrifice brings joy and peace. He has given us His all, it is only fitting we give our all to Him!
Be a servant, become a saint!

We need to accept God’s call for us. Whether that’s being married, single, or being a priest, we need to be paying attention at what God wants for us. And if we don’t know, now is as good a time as any to start figuring it out.
Following God will be a challenge, but God will be there for us. Mary gave up her life to follow God’s will. She suffered so much, but in the end she expirenced the greatest treasure. Being in Heaven right next to God.
In this scripture it talks about how Mary submitted herself to the Lord so that should could have Jesus. Just like Mary did, we should be open to God’s call for us and accept what he wills us to do. We all are called to do something and God has a plan for us. If we choose not to go with his plan then we won’t be truly happy. Let us be more like Mary in choosing our vocations and path.
Today’s Gospel teaches me to trust in the Lord as Mary has. God already knows what is planned for all of us, but I like how God tests us in our faith by still asking us wether we will give Him our Fiat. We must always have faith in the Lord because he knows whats best for us and wants whats best for us. So if we trust in Him, we can go that good path that God has planned for us.
Mary was visited by an angel, that angle ended up asking her if she would be the mother of God. She knew it would be painfull and full or worry and suffering. She did not brush God away she did not get scared away by the appearance. She said yes she said yes through all of the suffering she still said yes. She did not know what type of sufferning or how it would come along but she knew.
We should ask Mary to bring our souls closer to Jesus. She went through immense pain to be the Mother of God. She watched her Son die on the cross. She watched her Son carrying His cross, being ridiculed and spat at. But she is the Queen of Heaven and Earth. People all across the world admire her and love her.
Happy Annunciation today. Today is the day that Mary said “Yes.” But it’s more than just a yes. It’s more like a “YAAAAAASSSS!” and also a call to say “Yes I will raise your child.” and a “Yes! I will follow my vocation!” Let’s also say that yes, so that we can also get to heaven.
I can apply this to my life by praying to God and my Guardian Angel to help me get through the hard times and so I can get to Heavan
The angel Gabriel came to Mary today to tell her the good news. If we believe is God, one day the angels will give us the terrific news that we will go to heaven.
I can apply this to my life by trusting and listening to God and his plan for me.
God can do literally anything. Nothing is impossible for God. Elizabeth was too old to bear children, and Mary didn’t have any relations with a man. But God has a plan, and he is fully capable of completing it. But he still gave Mary a choice. God has a plan for us, but he wants us to choose it. He wants us to choose to love him, like Mary did. So we have a choice. We can either accept God’s will for our lives, or we can ignore it.
Like Mary, we must say yes to God. We must carry out God’s plan for us. And also like Mary’s life, things will not always be easy.
We should think about Mary when we feel like praying is hard. Mary went through so much pain and suffering to be Holy. Praying is not always easy but if you pray a lot it will get easier.
I think Mary acted in such a calm manner that nobody has now. Whenever people receive the slightest surprise they are constantly talking about it and overeacting. If the angel Gabriel came today, nobody would beleive it and whoever Gabriel goes to, they would most likely overeact.
In the scripture today, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to tell Mary that she will bear Jesus. In a similar way, God calls on each of us and gives us each a different path in life. We are called to follow the path that God gives us and accept what God calls us to do, just as Mary did. Each path is important for us so that we can reach Heaven.
I can apply this to my life by bringing God into my life every day.
This scripture tells us that no how good you think your life is gonna get it’s just gonna get more hard and more suffering along the way. Mary went through a lot of suffering and she had a rough life watching Jesus and what he went through. But it was worth it because Jesus saved humanity.
This is a “turning point” for the entire world. A baby is concieved to a virgin and that baby will grow up to claim that he is the son of God and the messiah to bring us to a heavenly Kingdom.
This is a “turning point” for the entire world. A baby is concieved to a virgin and that baby will grow up to claim that he is the son of God and the messiah to bring us to a heavenly Kingdom .
This reading is talking about how the angle Gabriel came down to Earth to tell Mary she is going to have a baby boy.
In today’s scripture, Mary is asked to concieve the Son of God and she accepts. We need to be more like Mary. We need to go the route God wants us to take and ask him daily to guide us on our earthly journey.
Gabriel comes to Mary in the gospel. The angel says, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” Mary does not quickly understand. “Do not be afraid, Mary,” Gabriel continued, “for you have found favor with God.
Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father,
and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” God “finds favor with” Mary. He is all seeing, all understanding, all inteligent, and He chooses Mary to be Jesus’ mother. We have to accept God’s will for us. Mary almost immediately accepts it, and she is an example to us. Our beutiful, elegant mother is a model.
Every decision we make effect our life, could be in a good way or could be in a bad way. God will always be there for us no matter what. We need to give God our all just like he did for us. We need to let Gon into our heats and we need to worship him, just like the angels do.
I can allow this to enter my life and use it to help me put God befor my own selfish human wants.
Mary said yes to becoming the mother of Jesus. She accepted the call and had Jesus the son of God. Mary is a role model for us because we need to accept God’s call and not ingore Him when he does call. We have accept whatever calling He has for us because He knows what’s right for us.
Mary said yes, if she didn’t then Jesus could’ve never been born. He couldn’t have opened Heaven’s gates and let us in. That was a turning point in human history and Mary made it happen. We should trust in God because he has a plan.
We should trust that God has a plan for us. He knows more about you than even you do. If we pray and accept his call, we will be on the right path. Even though there will be suffering on the way, in the end everything will work out. When we accept his will we are put on the path to salvation.
I can relate this to my life by knowing that God will help me in many ways but all I need to do is except them. I need to learn to know what comes from God and what comes from my own greed.
What I got out of this Scripture is that the Bible is not just another Harry Potter or Percy Jackson story but of real events and real people that actually happen. Sometimes when we read our Bible we just read it like aother book but we can’t do that because if we treat it like another book we are getting nothing out of it. God put his intercession into the writers of the Bible so there has to be something in there that you would miss that could help you if you just read it like another book.
Everything going on in the world right now is crazy. Just like it was crazy to Mary that an angel would appear to her. But she acted so calmly, and after pondering what the angel said, she ultimately said yes to God. We should strive to be like that. We should strive to be the calm in a chaotic world and say yes to God. Saying yes to God can be tough sometimes, but it is also the best decision for yourself that you can make. Mary said yes, even though she ultimately knew that this would bring hardships upon her, to bearing the Son of God in her womb. If we say yes, there may be small hardships that we have to endure, but nothing compares to the gift we will get in Heaven if we just accept and say yes to God.
Thanks for this analogy, it helped me today!
Just like Mary, God has a different path for everyone. Like Mary, we have to accept what God’s calling us to, because He knows and wants what is best for us.
Mary submitted herself to the lord. Even after watching her sun be crusified and we can’t even submit ourselves to him and he hasn’t done anything to hurt us. All he want’s is to love us so why won’t we let him.
What appeared to me, was that this gospel is the beggining of our redemption. our lives were put onto one decision with Mary. If she would have said no than the gates of heaven would have never been opened. Mary shows how we should act by totaly and completely trusting God.
In this reading today, Mary is tolsd that she would give bith to the most amazing person in the world. She was troubled but knew that God would be with her. What I can take away from this reading today, is that we can always trust in God. Even if we are very troubled by what God has put in our life, he put that in our life for a reason. He always has a plan for us and you need to acept his plan.
In today’s Gosple the God tells Mary you shall bear a son and name him Jesus. Mary is confused because she has had no relation with a man to have a child. This shows us how powerful God is and the Holy Spirit. We just have to pray to them and something powerful coul happen to us if we just talk to God. Nothing is doing to come to us if we don’t practice or if we don’t talk to God. So we need to love God the way he loves other’s because he loves us so much and we need to love him so much back.
What i got from todays reading is that Jesus has plans for us and us humans need to stop ignoring him because he knows what is good for us. I think sometimes we get too caught up in everything that is going on around us and dont realize that we are ignoring jesus
In today’s scripture God is showing us that nothing is impossible if we believe and put trust and faith into Him. God gave both Mary and Elizabeth the give of pregnancy in seemingly impossible situations. Elizabeth, an old, barren woman and Mary, a virgin young woman. God trusted and believed in both of these women, because they trusted and believed in Him. If we trust and believe, God will help us and in turn, we should go out and spread the good news and share His love with others.
God has a plan for every single one of us. But we all must be open to the call. For nothing is imposible through the Lord. God paved our path. But it’s our job to follow that path. For it shall lead you to Heaven. There will be suffing along the way. But as Father Mike Schmitts says, “Life is difficult.”
Mary had a choice to accept what the angel said to her. We need to accept God into our life too. We can do this by praying and making sacrifices in our daily life.
i can apply this to my life by remembering how Mary submitted herself to God. She gave her body to carry Jesus and give him life. Mary trusted in God how we should trust in him.
todays scripture tells me to listen to Jesus as mary did. Jesus has a plan for us and if we listen to him he will guide us to heaven.
I can apply this scripture to my life by letting God into my life more often and praying to both God and my Guardian Angel to guide and help me get to heaven by doing what is right.
I can apply this to my life by surrendering to God. Mary gave up her life for God and she had an amazing gift in return: being the Mother of Christ. When we surrender our lives to God, we let him guide us. Just like Mary’s life, we are going to face difficult challenges. This is why we should surrender ourselves and fully give ourselves to God.
Let me start off by saying this is a beautiful thing that happened. An angel came down to Mary. Now that would be kind of scary, but when the angel said “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God,” she put her trust in God and let him do his will. I can apply this to my life by humbling submiting myself to God’s will and trust in him like Mary did. And I will have the best life that I could have.
God has a future for all of us. But will we choose to follow it. God loves us and that is why he gave Mary a choice.
We need to accept God’s calling weather that is being married or being a religions brother or a sister. Either way God knows what is best for us.
God is all loving and trusting. We just have to put all our faith and trust in Him because He always has a plan.
We need to be more like Mary> We have to say yes to God like she did. By follwing in her footsteps, we can find true happiness with the lord. She is our mother.
This reading shows us Mary’s complete belief and trust in God. She was trusting that God would protect and guide her along the steps of taking care of the son of God, just like we need to be, we need to put all of out trus, faith, and hope in God to reach our eternal home in Heaven.
We need to know that whatever hardships we are facing, anything is possible with God.
Nothing is impossible for God. If you ask something of him, and this does not happen, that means it was not his will for it to happen.
As God reached out to Mary, he reaches out to us as well. We should not fear him, but have trust in him and do his will.
In this scripture it talks about how Mary gave herself to the Lord so that should could have Jesus. Mary is asked to concieve the Son of God and she accepts it.We must carry out God’s plan for us. Nothing will be easy but we have to fight through the temptations and sin
LIke stated above, ” …nothing is imposable with God.” This is very powerful because sometimes things happen that we cant explain and we need to trust that God has a plan.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that if we trust in God he will do great things for us.
In today’s scripture I learned that we should seek out God’s calling for us and accept it so we can find true happiness. God knows whaty’s best for us and we need to listen and do what he wants us to do because it’s for the best.
I can trust and listen to God and do what he wants of me, because i know it is best for me.
Today’s Gospel is about vocation. Mary’s vocation was to be God’s only son’s mother. God has a vocation for us too. We need to pray to him and accept his vocation. We shouldn’t worry if our vocation won’t be the right one, because God has a plan for everyone and his plan is always the right plan.
I can apply this to my life by always believing in God and knowing that he will do what is right.Basically no matter what we have to trust in God, that is basically what this scrpture passsage is telling us.
In todays scrpiture passage, and angel appears to Mary and tells her that she will be the mother of God. Mary replies saying, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” I can apply this to my life by trusting that God has a plan for me, and that he has perfect timing for everything.
What I learned from todays scripture was that even though it might be hard we need to say yes to God.
God will always be there for us and He knows exactly what we need. It will be hard to follow Him sometimes but He knows what’s best for us since he created us.
In this Scripture Mary trusted in God. We always have to put trust in God so he can give us a happy and holy life. As we get older we are going to face harder obstacles in life and that’s when we need to put our trust in God.
The Annuciation is where our story started. We honor Mary as our Mother because she said yes to being the Mother of God. Let us ask for help so that we can also say yes so whatever God has planned for all of us. Mary knew how hard it was going to be, but she still agreed, and thats a reason we honor her!
In this passage today i think to myself that Mary gave up her possibility that a man would not want to be with her anymore becuase she is conciving a child without anyone knowing the background story of the angel coming to her. Or even if she did tell they there was a very very high chance that they would not believe that an angel from heven sent by god would come to give mary the good news. What i am trying to say is that Mary gave up her trust some much that she would do anything for God’s wish to have a child come upon her. And she said ok because she trusted in him that he would protect her. She accepted it only for God.
Listen to God no matter how hard it is because He wil guide you through your suffering.
Mary is letting God take control of her life. We need to do this to be happy. Because if we don’t do God’s will we won’t be happy because were not doing what is meant for us to do.
It today scripture Mary says “yes” to accept Jesus in her whomb and because of this it tells us that we need to accept our yes.
The way God reaches out to Mary asking her to be the Mother of God and her saying yes showed her dedication to following her vocation which is what we as Catholics are called to do so may we be like Mary and follow our vocations that God is calling out for us.
Jesus will always be there for us and we need to believe when we see him. It can be hard to see him when we are filled with all electronics so we need to except Gods call
In today’s gospel, we learn about the Annunciation. Mary says, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” This should be our response to God’s Will every day of our lives. We need to understand that God’s plan for us is much better than any other plan we could’ve imagined.
I can apply this to my life by trusting God. Just how Mary trusted God with her life, I should to. I should that God has a plan for me and I should trust him on it. I should be like Mary and trust God with what Hes doing, and his plan for mein the futrue. Also, I need to let God enter my life and don’t push him away. I need to add him into mylife and trust what he is doing/planning for me.
This tells me that when things are hard it can get better even when we are at our hardest moments. This also tells me that anythin can change our lives.
In this reading Mary is told by an angel that she will have the son of God. This shows us that God calls us to do or be something in our life.
In todays readings it was the annucaition when gabrial was sent down to Nazareth to ask Mary if she wanted to be the mother of God. Mary is known as the new eve.
We nneed to put faith and trust into God so that we can go see Him in Heaven. He wants tro see us so the Holy Spirit is sent to bring us closer to Him but we need to accept this.
Today in the gospel, an angel comes to Mary and tells her that she is going to have a boy named Jesus. What stuck out to me was that the angel told Mary that she was going to have a son, not ask her. Mary accepted what the angel said, “Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. Jesus tells us that he loves us and that he wants to have a relationship with us at the mass, but do we accept it, like Mary did? I can apply this to my life by accepting whatever the Lord wants of me.
This scripture talks about how Mary gave up her future for Jesus. Mary trusted God, that is why we should always follow God and trust him.
In this Scripture the angel Gabriell came to Mary to tell her that God wanted her to be the mother of his only son. And she was frightened at first but then she realized that she did not need to be scared. This is just like our relationship with Jesus, because we are scared to have a relationship because we know it will not be easy and we know that we might have to loose friends to have a true relationship with him. But then once we have that reltionship with him we realize that it was all worth it.
I think that this reading is a reading that we of think as a more of a story used to infrom people of what happened. When in reality this story has a great message behind it that many people have not found. The message is that we have to be accepting of anything and everything that asks of us. This is one fo the hardest things for anyone to do because we naturally tend to think of ourselves before others. When Mary was asked to basically give her life to God she accepted becasue she had her prioreties sorted correctly. If we should take anything from this reading is that we need to love God more that ourselves or anything else.
I can apply this scripture to my life by trusting in God that he has a plan for me. God will reveal his plan for me soon. He might already be trying to reveal his plan for me now.
At the time of the Annunciation, Mary did not know what would happen next. Even so, she trusted that God had a plan for her and that He cared for her very deeply. She was ready to do God’s will and knew that she would probably have great suffering, as well as great joy.
this shows me that God knows and loves us and that is what is inportant.
This scripture is telling me that Mary had complete trust in God when she got the message. We as sinners do not always trust God and do not always listen to him like Mary did.
In today’s gospel, God sent the angel Gabriel down to Mary (and others) to tell Mary that she would bear a son, and she should name him Jesus. First, the angel starts with “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” This puzzled Mary and she was very likely frightened. Then, she is comforted by the angel when the angel says “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” God is very smart and powerful, and this can sometimes be scary. We need to accept Him and let God in to our lives, and we will find peace.
We should pray together because it 2 or more are gathered Jesus is with us. We should also pray to Mary because she brought Jesus in to the world and is our heavenly mother. You should pray some roasarys with your friends.
Somethings are impossible on your own. But God can do the impossible. Like Mary, she had no relations with a man, but with the help of God/the Holy Spirit she gave birth to Jesus. Same with Elizabeth. Elizabeth was in her old age and yet she gave birth to a son. Anything can be impossible, but nothing is impossible for God.
i can apply this to my life by allowing God into my life and saying yes to him
I can apply this to my life by praying more often and listening to God and what He has to say.
When God asks you to do something , do It. Mary was not ready for it but she did it for the good of God.
In today’s Gospel I got that Mary said yes to the Angel Gabriel and that is hard. She said yes because she believed in the Angel and wanted to have the Son of God. So we should not fear Him because he has a plan for us someday.
This is telling us that God will comunicate with us if we listen.
I can put this into my life because it says ” Do not be afraid” and I could use this because God is such a powerful being and it’s making him upset that people cannot realize that he isn’t a scary or mean Thing.
Today this gospel is telling us that God can do everything and that nothing is impossible. We need to remember that so then we think that we can’t do something or that we aren’t smart enough that we can do it. No matter how long it takes, or how hard it is we can still do it.
What I can take from this today is that God has a gift for everyone and always thinking about you. You need to acetp his gift to you and use it with a pation. I can do this by not being selfish and treating everyone the way I want to be treated by them.
This passage is vey impotant because this is when God chose Mary. No, not chose she was born for this moment even if she had the choice to say simply no. She trusted God, even in the beginning she was troubled and pondered what kind of welcome this is. After hearing what the Angel meant, she wanted to be the bearer of Jesus Christ our Savior.
I think it’s saying that, like Mary did, we should give ourselves up to God the way she did. Since she gave her life up to God, she’s setting an example for people like us sinners to also give up our entire lives to him.
I think the Gospel passage today is telling me that Mary is where it all started when the Angel Gabriel was sent down fron God in Heaven, to Mary on Earth and was told that she was having a baby and He was going to be a saviour. So we, just like Mary, needs to listen to God and His will even if it sounds crazy to us. We need to trust in God and what he wants us to do with our lives, even if it’s not what WE want to do, or if it’s not what we expected for our lives.
Today Jesus isn’t telling us anything, because he isn’t born yet. We focus so much on Jesus that we tend to forget that Mary created Jesus inside of her womb. If she had said no, Jesus wouldn’t have been born. But Mary said Yes. This is very important because she didn’t know how this was going to work, she was as confused as we are when God tells us to do something important, but she said yes anyway. She did not know how God would work, but she trusted that he would work. And like Mary, we need to say yes. We don’t known how God will work, but we need to trust that He will work. God has a plan, and we need to trust that He has everything taken care of.
I think that this passage is telling me that Mary’s Fiat is what allowed God’s plan to come into action. Sure God knew she would say yes but would you or me say yes. Mary didn’t just say yes she fully comitted to God’s will and plan. Maybe there is something that would keep us from saying yes. But why? Because something is dominating our lives. Repent means to change and then COMMIT to that change for good.
What this scripture said to me is that we are children of God. Whenever we need to talk to someone, God will always be there. If we are scared, We can just talk to him. If we need guidance, he will be sitting right there ready to talk.
It is interesting to think that is Mary said no to being the mother of God when she was asked. I wonder if God asked anyone else. I can’t imagine being the mother of God and seeing him die for our sins. Mary we often forget about which is not good because Mary is so important.
Today’s gospel tells us the story of Mary’s annunsiation. As the angel gabriel goes to her he tells her that she will have a son. but mary hesitates. We should not hesistate anything about the lord.
In this Gospel God is asking us for our “fiat” our yes. he’s asking us to trust in him, and even though we will suffer we will ultametly gain joy though our path and be able to live fully in God.
Believing in God and that He will do his will is of utmost importance. Following him and giving yourself up is a whole other story. Mary, not only did she believe and trust him fully, but she gave up her entire like for Him. That’s what happened when she said yes to the angel Gabriel. Giving yourself up to God is the hardest thing to do. You have to believe, trust, and and completly give yourself to Him.
The best part of today’s reading is when Mary says yes to God and Gabriel. It’s amazing becuase she could have said no, but she didn’t, even when there was a lot of uncertainty about it. She didn’t know why and how she was going to be the Mother of God and she said yes anyway.
What i got from this scripture is that God can make anything happen. The angel Gabriel came up to Mary and pretty much said im gonna put a baby in you and it just happend(not really) Mary was confused, she was a virgin and has had no relation with any man and now Gabriel is telling her that she is having a child.
what I learned about this passage is that always trust God and his ways
I think this is just a big example of how mary did not have to say yes but she did and she is the best mother we could ever ask for
I think that this scripture passage talks about and teaches us that anything you want to do works when God is by your side. Trust in the Lord like Mary did when she said “Yes.” She trusted that God will help her along the journey.
What I got from the reading today is that it’s somtimes hards to say yes to God. And Mary gave her life to God and made a hard choose in her ife to say yes to God.
This Gospel today is telling me not to be afraid of God you should always know he is with you. If you ever need help or you’re struggling with something, all you have to do is talk to God. God loves us and we should love him too.
There is so many destractions in the world it is easy for us to get destracted and farhter away from God. We always have to remeber that its God that will pull us out of the darkness not our phones, tv, or sports. Mary is so strong and she devoted herslef to God. She was probably scared but she knew she has the Holy Spirit guiding her.
I think the scripture today is showing me the magnitude of Mary’s obedience to God’s plan. I mean, what would your answer be if some guy from heaven comes down and tells you that you are going to be the parent of a Divine Wonder, doesn’t give an explenation how other than the Holy Spirit will do it, and calles you blessed?!? I don’t know about you, but I would want some answers! But Mary, all she did was say, “If God wants it to happen, go ahead.” That is like the SUPREME TRUST. No one other than Jesus had that trust. And Mary was just a human like any of us! So why can’t we have that ultimate trust? Answer: WE CAN. All we have to do is let what God wants to happen… well, happen!
Isaiah, you have deep understanding of this Scripture. I am impressed and proud to be your religion teacher! Great job!
To me this Scripture says that I am not my own. I am God’s belonging and I need to start reminding myself more often that I am in control of myself, so I need to start making myself do things for the Lord instead of for myself.
Great insight and reflection, Maddie! I learned something from you.
In the reading today God is trying to tell us exspect the unexspected. Just like the world today with Covid. We did not exspect that like Mary did not exspect The angel Gabriel.
Today’s Gospel is a really popular one. This is the one were Mary says yes. I think every single person in the world can say yes to something. Whether that be in school or your personal life. And when you say yes, you can open yourself to new possibilities that you probably wouldn’t have considerdered if you didn’t say yes.
Today, we celebrate the Annuciation. The Annuciation is where Jesus came into Mary and Gabriel the Angel gave Jesus in Mary. But anyway, what I got from this gospel is that nothing is impossible with God. He can do whatever He wants and when He wants. If we’re going through so much stress or depression or just struggling in life, we can ask God and He would be there. Nothing is impossible with God.
God reaches out to us just as he reached out to Mary. Mary wasn’t some celebrity when Gabriel came to give her news. This tells us that God doesn’t pick favorites, he loves all of us and has a plan.
We have to give Jesus our all just like he did for us. We need to put Jesus before us and all of our other wants that aren’t even worth our time. God should be the centerpiece of our life.
I imagine having the task of raising the son of God would be a great deal of stress on my part. I’d have to be the greatest example of grace for him, not to mention all the normal parenting stuff. Other than that, I don’t know what to expect. If I was Mary in the moment that the angel Gabriel approached her, I’d be freaking out. Mary is one committed person to have gone through all of that suffering. She’s the best example for any person struggling with commitment issues.
