Prayer Prompt before reading JN 17:1-11: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“NOW THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE, THAT THEY SHOULD KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND THE ONE WHOM YOU SENT, JESUS CHRIST.” JN 17:1-11

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

This is truly amazing, Jesus is praying to Himself/God the Father! Are there any better Scripture readings than when the Son is praying to the Father? God the Father and God the Son work perfectly together to reconcile the souls of all humanity back to the Creator, our Father.

”Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began.” Jesus has always been present. He is the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega. Now we have the opportunity to be a light for the world, salt of the earth through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.

We are baptized and set apart for a special mission. This Jesus grafted Himself onto you and I at our baptism. This Jesus is still present in our tabernacles and Adoration chapels. This Jesus is still alive in the Eucharist! ”I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.” This is our mission, to do the will of the Father!

That work may require lots of prayer, suffering, fasting, resisting the Devil, self-gift, sacrifice, and a lot of love, but the rewards are joy, peace, and everlasting life (dwelling in a place where you are complete, belong, are loved). Are you tough enough? Me either, but with God’s grace anything is possible.

Are you willing to risk your life for Jesus? I’m not talking about being a martyr or defending the faith with the threat of death, I’m talking about dying to self/ego for a relationship with Christ and allowing Christ to transform you, total surrender. Then, others will not see you but Christ.

Jesus gave everything up for you, but what He really wants is to be your best friend. Bring yourself to Him daily and talk to Him. The Father has been chasing after you since the beginning of time. He knows you better than you know yourself. He knit you in your mother’s womb. He knows all of the hairs on your head. You are His “the one”. You are a member of His family, a son or daughter of the Father. You belong, you are loved, you are exactly who you were made to be.

Today’s challenge: Glorify God by opening yourself up to His grace to be transformed into an other Christ and live your life with purpose. May others not see us but Christ. Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

Be a servant, be a saint today!
