“THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN MAY BE LIKENED TO A KING WHO GAVE A WEDDING FEAST FOR HIS SON.” MT 22:1-14

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Prayer Prompt before reading MT 22:1-14: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and Son are so that I may know who I am.

Today, Jesus teaches us that we will be judged and sin has serious consequences. Sin is it’s own consequence. We have all suffered the results of bad choices/sin. Ultimately, sin hurts relationships. Sin is saying I don’t care God I am going to do it anyway.

Who are the servants bringing in the guests? Christian missionaries. We are called to be missionaries in our own homes, schools, businesses, and communities. What is the requirement to enter the Kingdom? Repentance (change) of mind and heart (Greek-metanoia). We must die to self (kill our ego), carry our crosses, put on Christ, love in deeds and if needed use words.

What does the wedding garment represent? Repentance. As John the Baptist preached from the beginning, the criteria to enter the Kingdom is repent and be baptized. We can be holy now which means heaven can be brought to earth through us by doing the Father’s will (Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven).

He has given us all we need, the bread that is literally Himself, reconciliation, and His Holy Spirit. Go tell everyone in your home the Good News! The world needs saints right now. Be not afraid!

Today’s challenge: If you are baptized, continue to live out your baptismal vows to reject Satan and grow closer to Christ striving for holiness and modeling Christ for others to see. If you know someone who is not baptized, encourage them to sign up for a RCIA class to discover Jesus. Just be friends with someone and they should see how your faith influences all parts of your life and they will want to be like you, Christ is infectious! Holiness is attractive.

Be a servant, be a saint today!

In today’s gospel the talks about at the end of the world he will give us new hearts and better souls when we rise from the dead at the end. “Thus the nations shall know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when in their sight I prove my holiness through you. ” means everyone will know he is god when we proclaim him to the world. Have a nice day 🙂

‘My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding garment?’ But he was reduced to silence. Then the king said to his attendants, ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. ‘Many are invited, but few are chosen.” When Jesus said this I think He was trying to tell us that in order to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, we have to believe in him, and let him mark us with his soul.

Something that I got out of this is, that we should not be scared to go out and spread the faith, it is our job to go and do it, so many people are scared to do it because they are scared that they are going to get made fun of, or the people that they hang out with won’t like them anymore, but we have to go out of that fear, and ignore what the devil says, and go and spread the good news.

“THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN MAY BE LIKENED TO A KING WHO GAVE A WEDDING FEAST FOR HIS SON.” In the story it talks about a wedding garment which is repentance it is a change of heart, mind, that is the condition for entrance into the kingdom. Sin has consequences and is a consequence itself but we need to wear the wedding garment to repent to Jesus because he gave us all the sacraments to do so.

The host invites certain guests to a feast, and sends servants to do so. But the servants are beat and killed, and the invited guests do not come. So the host then sends his servants to go and collect anyone they meet, whether rich or poor, old or young. And they come and feast. And a man shows up without a wedding garment, and says nothing when asked why he does not have one. So they throw him out into the night. Jesus invites all to come to his wedding feast, no matter who you are or what you have done. Everyone is welcome! We just have to say yes.

In today’s Gospel, it tells us that we’re called to be missionaries, to serve the church. To serve other people, and to help out the church! God isn’t the only one that want’s to see us in the Church’s hands, the whole Catholic Trinity would LOVE to see you there, so work your way to become a missionary of the Catholic Church. Also, not just only the Church either, the whole world needs you, and this is what today’s Gospel is about, becoming a missionary of God’s Holy Church.

Today’s gospel is about how Heaven is a like a wedding feast at the end Jesus says ” many are invited but few are chosen” this means that every one is invited to the kingdom of heaven but few accept the invite and are chosen to come into the kingdom. he also talks about the man who enters not in wedding garments who is thrown out this shows that if you accept the invite you still must repent in order to enter the kingdom of God.

Today I felt like the King was a very cruel person. He was mad that his servants were killed and he said the people that were invited were no longer invited. Then he told the rest of his servants to find people off the streets and invite them. Then he had kicked out the people who hadn’t had nice clothing. God would invite everyone in automatically no matter if they were people with no clothes or people with the nicest clothes of all time. This relates to us in the way that God doesn’t care how much material good you have. He only cares about your relationship with him. Material goods can help us get to him but we should not only care about those goods because what really matters is spending eternal life with him.

This is saying what heaven will be like after judgement. What they are saying is that after judgement there will be a feast in heaven with everybody. Everybody is gathered to the feast, people try to stay separate from God and don’t realize the pain that they are going through on earth. Earth has now been a corrupt place saying I need this I need that but can we just look and say I need Jesus. Jesus is the source of salvation and will give us everlasting life. At judgement God will use us as a farm and pick out the bad crop and leave us with the cleansed crops so that we are fresh from sin. People will kill others for preaching the gospel, people put their lives out there to tell the good news and people don’t accept that Jesus loves you and died for you. To me when Jesus asks if you didn’t bring a wedding garment is like you didn’t bring faith and love to Jesus and you didn’t walk the cross. Jesus said it will be easy and will receive the greatest of all gifts. We just have to choose to accept it. All are invited but do you think you are chosen to sit at the feast of God.

“Many are invited, but few are chosen.” To me this is more than some words that were in a Gospel. These are the words of the lord Jesus Christ. it is the words he had spoken to the Apostles. Meaning that he is the father and will invite all of us to heaven but only the people who truly love God will be let in.

Today, Jesus teaches us that we will be judged and sin has serious consequences. Sin leads us away from heaven and sometimes people dont get into heaven because they sin so much. There are three different sins, mortal, Venial, and original They all aren’t good to do. Original sin is what we do everyday or almost everyday. Original sin is the smaller things we mess up on.

Original Sin-Adam and Eve’s sin that gave us an inheritance of a loss of holiness or relationship with the Father

Mortal Sin-we willingly choose to separate ourselves from God with a choice that He warns us can become an addiction and brings misery into our lives.

Venial Sin-we willingly choose to do something that hurts our relationships that is not as serious as a mortal sin.

People are greedy. They want what they can’t have and once they have it it’s not good enough. That is what the gospel is saying to me today. it’s also talking about sin and punishment. sin already has a terrible punishment and by that I mean guilty. Guilt is a huge punishment just for yourself.

Jesus reached out to me in this scripture, when he said that sin will have very bad effects on our souls ´ s. Sin is its own consequence. Sin is the cause of bad relationships and it is what ends them too. When we sin we tell God that we do not care what he says we will do what we want. We will be judged on the last day.

In the Gospel today Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a king’s banquet. The people who are invited by his servants reject the invitation and kill his servants. That makes me think of the saints who were martyred because of their faith. They were trying to tell people about God like how the servants were trying to tell the people about the banquet. After the servants went out into the main roads and invited anyone who could come. That makes me think of how we all invited to go to the kingdom of heaven, we just have to choose if we want to go there or not sometimes by our actions.

today a man was having a wedding for his when the invited killed his servants so instead the man went up on the streets and invited the lowly. one did not have a wedding garment so he was cast out. we are like the people he invited God invites us all into heaven it is our job to come ready and to not ignore his grace. we must be like the lowly and trust that God will save us but we must first let him save us.

Jesus came out to me in this scripture telling me that sin only tears you and the people around you down and when you just give up trying to face those sins then we start to slip away from God and ruining our life with him so we need to not turn our backs on God but to rejoice with friends and family that he came down to save us from the devil and that we will live in perfect harmony for the rest of eternity

What I got from the scripture today, was that if we really think we don’t have to move on from our earthly selves then how will we get to God? We do have to kill our own egos so we can truly see God. When we still think we are better than everyone we can see God, but very slightly. It’s like a dirty window. You can see through but very slightly. As soon as we clean the window (AKA our soul), we will see God with nothing covering Him.

In today’s scripture reflection what stook out to me was Jesus invited everyone to come. That stook out to me because he is telling us we are all welcome. JEsus doesn’t care if we are young old sinful sinless because he just wants us all there. he died for our sins so we can be with him forever.

I think the Gospel today was about how some of the people we look up aren’t who we think they are. The people who were invited to the wedding didn’t come, even though the invention was there. The King then sent out his servants to the main road and bring all of those people into the wedding. We should always be prepared to go to Heaven.

“We must die to self (kill our ego), carry our crosses, put on Christ, love in deeds and if needed use words.” This to me is very moving. No want to kill their ego that is what everyone lives on. If you are living on/within Jesus then you have killed your ego and you are God. He is and always is put first. That is the way your, my, and everyone’s ego should be.

In today’s gospel the king was a very greedy and a very cruel person. After he knew that the people killed his servants, he made his troops go around the town and kill the people that killed his servants. After that he made his servants go out and invite the people they found on the streets. Even though the king said to find people on the streets, he got mad at a dude because he wasn’t wearing a wedding garment. So he kicked him out. God would have invited everyone even if they are good or bad and He wouldn’t kick them out because God is not greedy and he loves everyone.”Many are invited, but few are chosen.” I like this quote because we are all invited to heaven but we have to prove that we are invited to heaven

What the gospel to me was that it kinda seemed like the judgment of God being analogized to a king and his servants. I know that the place where the wailing and grinding of teeth happens is hell. I also thought that the person without the wedding gown was a person that didn’t listen to him. So I think God sent that guy to hell for not listening and taking his freewill to do wrong things. and the people God invited are the people God thought were worthy of going to heaven. But because of original sin they ignored him.

When Jesus explains why the unclothed man was cast out into the street and says “Many are invited, but few are chosen.” he is explaining our world today. All are invited and wanted in Heaven, but many decide not to follow God’s will in order to have the comfort and things of the world. When they die they will be sent out of his place like the unclothed man.

The reason why we were made is to get into Heaven. Sin is a wall that blocks us out from God and doesn’t give us the chance to get into Heaven. Once we get into Heaven, we become saints after spending time in Heaven. But then again, sin is there to stop us. By blocking out all distractions and doing all that is good, we may truly have eternal life within us.

But there are some who decide to turn away and disobey God, and they will be cast out unless they rework their ways. In this gospel i think the wedding garments reflect purity, and those who are not pure shall be cast out where there is “wailing and grinding of teeth.

What does the wedding garment represent?…. Repentance

I think John the Baptist had this going the right way you can’t get in to heaven
if you don’t ask for forgiveness. to repent means to ask for some one to forgive if you
don’t ask for forgiveness then that is saying that you don’t care.

He invites us to His table and gives us a place to sit, but we do not always choose Him. We have to give our life to the Lord and not be attached to anything of this world if we want a seat at His table. We are always welcome, but we do not always choose to do right. Therefore, we have to give our life to God in order for us to be seated with Him in Heaven.
