“HAS NO ONE CONDEMNED YOU?” JN 8:1-11

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Today, Jesus teaches us that He does not condemn, we condemn ourselves. He came to save us not condemn us. Sin doesn’t hurt God, it hurts our relationship with God. When we sin, God doesn’t move, we move ourselves away from God. As the verse before the Gospel says, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked man, says the Lord, but rather in his conversion, that he may live.”

We are all sinners.  Which one of us does not need God’s love and mercy?  We must have a big heart to convert hearts.  The scribes and the Pharisees are stuck in the law and self-righteousness.

We often judge others quickly, I know I do.  When I am at the grocery store, watching TV, at the park, or anywhere unfamiliar to me, it seems I judge those I do not know.  I have learned over time to stop myself and reach out and say hello no matter what a person looks like or how they speak.

Instead of judging, I have learned to offer a quick hand or ask a complete stranger how their day is.  We often do not know the people next to us in our pews at Church beyond a greeting and sign of peace.  They are there almost every Sunday (we don’t like to move much).  We like to be comfortable.

Today, Jesus teaches us to have a big heart, be compassionate, get out of your comfort zone, take healthy risks and be kind and generous to others. We all have one Father, we all have sinned many times, be not afraid, reach out to others and be kind whether you know someone or not.  You will be amazed at their response! Reaching out to someone might just convert a heart and make a believer out of them.

Today’s challenge: Since Jesus forgives and does not condemn, “Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”  Come to Jesus in confession again and again with full intent to not sin again.  His grace and your will can conquer sin.  It may take time, but never give up!

Be a servant, be a saint today!

I think Jesus is trying to tell us not to shame others for their mistakes and forgive them because we are all sinners and we make mistakes too.

Today scripture says, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” This means that we should not make others feel bad or judge others because we are not without sin either. We cannot put blame on others cause we have done things that we need to be sorry for too.

Jesus dosent condemn us we condemn ourselves. People are too jugdy and care about what others think . We are all created by the same person and therefore why judge others as much as we do. We often judge others quickly, I know I do. When I am at the grocery store, watching TV, at the park, or anywhere unfamiliar to me, it seems I judge those I do not know. I have learned over time to stop myself and reach out and say hello no matter what a person looks like or how they speak. Being nice is hard, judging people for no reason though is.

Today in scripture we learn that, Jesus teaches us that He does not condemn, we condemn ourselves. Jesus forgives so why don’t we, we need to forgive those who have hurt us and move on from that act. The more we don’t forgive the more weight we feel on our body till it’s too heavy and we become angry. That is what the devil wants, God gives us the option to forgive others for what they to us so choose it.

“they would not allow their eyes to look to heaven, and did not keep in mind just judgments.” Some people surround themselves with friends that make us stay quiet about our faith. We think people will judge us for what be believe so we just keep it to ourselves. We cant surround ourselves with people that don’t except who we are as our own person and our own faith. If you find the right people they will help you spread the word of God and you will lead each other in the right direction.

“He sat down and taught them” if you ever feel like you don’t understand what’s happening, or don’t understand something in the faith, ask God or a religious figure, they will always teach you, though not always right away. Be patient and ask for what you need.

“Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” This stuck out to me because Jesus knew that they were trying to test Him so they could have something to hold against Him. He knew that’s what they were trying to do and came up with an answer that they had to answer within themselves. Later it says that He won’t condemn her either. That proves God always wants to give us a second chance no matter what bad thing we have done. We just need to go to Him and ask for his forgiveness.

We have to show compastion and love. It’s human to make mistakes and we all do so its not our place to judge that person when we know that we do and have done things that were probably worse. It is one thing to discourage something, but a completely different thing to judge someone based off a mistake.

Today their is a woman who is being condemned for adultery so they ask Jesus what should we do to test him because according the the law of Moses they should stone her but he says “Let the one amoung you without sin throw the first stone,” so they all leave. This is Jesus telling us that we shouldn’t condem our neighbor in sin when we sin just like them.

3/18/24 Jesus basically burned all the men who wanted to stone the woman. What I got from this is that none of us are without sin, and we should not condemn others without condemning ourselves first. I think Jesus was writing something important. He was writing something that He revealed to us later in scripture, or He wrote something that we are supposed to interpret. I imagine He was writing something along the lines of a prayer or a lesson about sin.

Today, Jesus tells us two things. One, that the old law is not always applicable anymore. There are many times when you need to follow it, of course, but there will also always be points in time when the best course of action is to follow the new law, or be in the likeness of Jesus. Two, Jesus always gives us mercy. He shows us that man is flawed, and that we condemn others so easily without condemning ourselves. Jesus told the scribes to look at themselves, and to think. If they were to punish the woman by stoning her, would they not also deserve the same? God always gives us a second chance, whether we take advantage of that, or we simply fall back into the hole that God fished us out of. To believe in the Gospel is to believe in redemption, but to believe in redemption, we need to realize that we can’t simply stand by and let God do the work for us. We need to go out into the world and preach the gospel, using words when necessary.

In today’s scripture it is saying to not condemn others who have sinned unless you are without sin. God sets the best example of how we are to act and to forgive others and not condemn he is without sin and still does not condemn his children, we ourselves are not perfect with sins of our own condemning others with the same sins so pick up your cross and follow him.

It is not Jesus that condemns us, it is ourselves. It is very impactful when we realize that we are the ones condemning ourself, not God. Jesus was condemned by Pontius Pilate to die on the cross. Just like that we are condemned by ourself when we do harm to others and sin. God is not here to condemn us whenever we do something wrong. When we fall, He is here to help us get back up and go in peace. He wants us to be happy and to be able to spread His Word. This all comes back to the fact that Jesus loves us. In Season 3, Episode 2 of The Chosen, Jesus talks to Little James and He says that the reason He does not heal him is because when Little James is able to heal others it shows that even though we may have our own problems, we can still help others. Go out of your way to do a kind deed and someone will be thankful for it.

I think that today’s scripture is telling us that we need to not judge people. This is an important lesson because it shows us how we should connect as Catholics, we need to be nice to one another because how would we feel I’d someone would do that to us. Jesus shows us how to do this, he doesn’t judge us, he cares for us even when we betrayed him and ignored him he was still there.

This scripture says that whenever we sin, we are hurting our relationship with God. We normally judge people, but by being kind and friendly, we can build our relationship with God. Even though we have one God, we should take risks and praise Him. Furthermore, He will give us the strength to help others.

Sin doesn’t hurt God, it hurts our relationship with God.” I liked it because it tells us that when we sin it doesn’t hurt God it just hurts the relationship we have with him. Something that I got out of this was that none of us have any room to judge anyone. Why should we judge someone if we have our own things that we struggle and need to work on. This reminds me of another gospel that we have had and it said, “Don’t worry about the speck of wood in your neighbors eye, when you have a plank in yours. I think this is super important and we all need to learn this as Catholic Christians.

A thing that stuck out to me a lot was that Jesus said whoever is perfect can condemn her. Everyone started leaving because no one had no sin except Jesus. When Jesus was the last one with her and he had no sin he said I will not condemn you either. This is so cool to me because he saved her by making them realize they were not perfect they had impurities so they didn’t feel as if they should condemn her. He also had the power to condemn her by his own rule but didn’t.

Today this is reminding me that even when we sin Jesus has giving us the gift of being forgiven. We tend to think that if we have done something bad that we can’t come back and be forgiven we just give up. Jesus allows us to be forgiven and have a second chance. Jesus shows us when he kept falling down when he was carrying the cross to keep trying again and again. We need to carry our own cross.

We should not be so quick to judge without even knowing someone. Jesus did not judge anyone. Like when he washed the disciples feet; even Judas. He did not look at their flaws but he was still being kind. That is what we should try to be.

Jesus forgave a woman who had committed a very serious sin and openly showed his love for her. Whenever I think of this story, because it’s one of my favorites, I always imagine Jesus smiling down at the woman in a loving way and helping her off the ground. Then he looks at her for a minute before wrapping his arms around her in a hug and saying “I don’t condemn you.” And I like to imagine myself in the position of the woman too because sometimes we just need that little reminder that Jesus really does love us even when we do wrong.

Jesus was telling us that we cannot judge others sins because we ourselves have sinned. We cannot condemn another because we don’t have the power. It would be completely hypocritical. We do not decide who makes it to heaven or who is holy or not. That is why only God decides because God has never committed any sin. He is perfect and still he is not arrogant. He forgives our sins because we are not perfect.

God loves us over anything and everything. when we sin it does not only affect us on our path to heaven but it affects our relationship with God. No matter what we do God will never stop loving us. Jesus is trying to tell us that we shouldn’t judge others for their sin, because we are all sinners. If we didn’t sin everything would just be perfect everything would be the same. we like the world now so that we can be taught the importance in life. Mary mother of God is the one who is perfect because she was born with an empty cup of sin. We are ti recognize that we are loved because we are sinners. God forgave people who did terrible things like killing, or even just the worst things yet. We can come home to the father once we realize that we are loved and that he is our Lord and savior. there are some countries that are banning religion practice. this shows that we don’t recognize that we are loved. We are sinners and we can’t change that. A lot of people want to be perfect but in the end it just doesn’t work for them, because they find themselves doing it again and again. We are called to be sinners and be forgiven. But not to be perfect with no belief in God.

Sin doesn’t hurt God, it hurts our relationship with God. When we sin, God doesn’t move, we move ourselves away from God. It is not God that is moving away it is us. God doesn’t want us to move away. He will never want that for us. We are the ones making that choice to move closer or farther from God. God wants us to with Him. He will never want us to move farther away from Him. We can pray or/and go to confession very often. Then we can stay close to God.

so the scribes bent the rules to their advantage and thought they were good and acted good in front of people when they were really spoiled and did nothing to help anyone.
We shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover you could be anyone you want to be, we judged Jesus on the outside no one expected him to save us and we did not deserve it.

What Jesus is saying in this passage is that we should always forgive someone. Forgiving someone is an act of kindness and doing these kinds of acts are always appreciated and loved by the person, and you’ll probably feel better after doing so. Jesus forgave everyone when He was on the cross, then for us forgiving someone at least once in our life should not be that hard.

So many times I have judged somebody and then I think back at what I had judge them for just to see that I have that same insecurity. Now I have tried to stop judging people because if I can’t judge myself who am i to judge.

its hard to be casted away from friends or others but dont be sad because there are people you can meet on your journey to your life, good or bad, it all effects you somehow even if you don’t talk to them. Life can be mysterious and sometimes feel impossible, it’s a task to be alive. It has work and jobs and financial problems all over, poor people having no homes, women giving birth but doesn’t have enough money for support, or people with jobs who feel used or left out from things. Hard to tell what you want to be when you start to grow because you can’t escape your past if you can’t figure out the future.

What does this remind us of? Oh yeah Reconciliation. We go there to get cleansed of our sins just like Jesus did to the woman in today’s Gospel. When people condemn you of your actions it’s sometimes surprising because they might have done the same thing but that is why confession is there. If we didn’t have confession no one would be able to let go of the bad things they did. So when someone asks you to forgive them you really should. Just keep in mind that you sin too just like that person.

We can put ourselves in bad places if we follow the wrong things. So we have to follow Jesus and let Him show the way. When we are lost He will always be there to help us. Have we never turned down someone else just so we get the better end? God is the only one who can judge us. He’s never done anything wrong. Who are we to judge others on the same stuff we do? We cannot run away from sin, we choose to run towards it. We can run towards forgiveness, but we choose to run away from it. If we don’t forgive now we will just start growing further away from God, but if we choose to forgive right away and not put it on hold we will only grow closer to God.

In today’s gospel Jesus gives us the first taste of forgiveness that He will give to the rest of the world. A precursor to confession if you will. Jesus says that anyone without sin can throw the stone. We can’t throw the stone, no one can. Jesus asks the woman who has condemned her, she answered no one, so Jesus said that He doesn’t condemn her. Once again this is an instance where Jesus has forgiven us. He is going to forgive all of us when He dies on the cross on Good Friday. The ultimate sacrifice. So the least we can do is try not to sin and hurt Jesus. Which is what He tells the woman to do, and what He tells all of us to do everyday.

Jesus shows in the gospel an adulterous woman getting mercy. She was warned by Jesus not to sin again. Instead of being happy to what Jesus showed to the woman the scribes hated Jesus for giving her mercy. There are times that we become judgmental to other people especially if we know something about them. We easily see what they deserve following our own standards. We as humans look for the dirt in people not the gold. Jesus says many times sinners and saints are welcomed in the Kingdom.

Our sins make us human; we are totally incapable of an entire day without sinning. I think that this scripture reflection means that you are giving your life for Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. A main part of that is judging. If you judge other people you are getting no where near where you are supposed to be at in this point of time in your life so don’t judge other people and think more about other people than you do yourself. Also, don’t be selfish. Everything isn’t always going to be about you in life so own up to that and know that you are giving your lives to Jesus Christ. Not just one person is judging other people when really they should be focused on themselves and God the Father. Also, it’s not just one person judging, it’s everyone that is being judged or judging. So take some time of your own, honor God the Father and give your daily life to do something good for him or the other people in this world.

” Sin doesn’t hurt God, it hurts our relationship with God. When we sin, God doesn’t move, we move ourselves away from God.”
It can be hard to tell the truth or to be “perfect” which no one is perfect so eventually we all move away from God but there is also a time where we can move closer to God when we do simple deeds like holding the door or even going to church, that creates a bigger bond with God even though sometimes it doesn’t feel like it. Something that is a common sin is swearing or saying God’s name in vain, sometimes we don’t even think about it and other times we do it just cuz. Also maybe next time just try to be kind to people it really doesn’t matter how much you hate them you should at least respect them and try to focus on the positive about them, I know its hard to but it will change your point of view.

Jesus is telling us we need to care for other people.Jesus always gives sinners mercy. He shows us that humans have flawed, and that we condemn others so easily.

God loves us more than we can possibly comprehend. He has been with us before we were even an idea in our parents’ minds. When we are mourning, he comforts us. When we are joyous, he celebrates with us. He has never left us for even a moment in our existence. He feels every emotion we feel a hundredfold for us.

God will always have a plan for us. He never disappoints with those plans. Every bad thing in your life will lead up to a good thing, its all part of Gods plan! If we just trust in Him we wont worry as much.

We all need God, we are all sinners so saying that you don’t need Him or His grace is just a lie. I’m not saying that everyone says that but even if you think that it can’t be any further from the truth.

What stuck out to me about today’s scripture is how we need to work on not condemning others and ourselves. We need to follow Jesus’s actions as best as we can i’m not saying you can never sin because thats not possible we will always sin but instead of letting it happen over and over try to work on it a bit and be the bast version of yourself you can be.

We need to not blame others for our mistakes and be a responsible person and accept it.

Be patient and ask God for what you need. He doesn’t judge us, he cares for us even when we betray him and ignore him he was and will always be there. Jesus is saying that he doesn’t condemn us nor does he judge us. After all, the longer you wait, the sweeter and ripened your fruit becomes.

“they would not allow their eyes to look to heaven, and did not keep in mind just judgments.” This stuck out to me because we should surround ourselves with people that support our faith or support in what we believe in.

Jesus told the Scribes that the person without sin to stone the woman, who commeted a bad sin, first. Then they all walked away. Jesus did not condemn the woman and instead forgave her.

to not judge other because you don’t know what they could be going thru and to go out of our comfort zone and lend a hand to help. because it could change their day by a simple kind gesture.
