“AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, NO PROPHET IS ACCEPTED IN HIS OWN NATIVE PLACE.” LK 4:24-30
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 4:24-30: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Have you ever felt unaccepted somewhere? Sadly, this happens in our homes, schools, parishes, and communities. Imagine if you were a prophet or the Son of God and you were not accepted in the place you were raised.
Jesus had the power to heal, raise people from the dead, He is Word made Flesh to tell everyone about salvation and eternal life. He died on a cross for these people. Yet they did not accept Him. Why? The same reason we do not accept Him.
He still has the power to heal today through priests, He is present in all of our tabernacles, with those in prayer, and His Word is always living and effective. He is with you and I now. Why don’t we accept Him? I don’t know about you but when I am really honest with myself and I listen to my heart, I’m afraid.
Afraid to change maybe, but I want to. I want to get closer to Jesus, too. But, I am most afraid of dying to myself, losing control, being vulnerable and giving my life completely to God. I am afraid that it will be a harder life. God will test me more or the devil will tempt me more because I am trying to give myself completely to God.
I know you have many other reasons, too. Today, let us be courageous men and woman, truly die to self and allow God to be in control. Jesus tells us in the Scriptures hundreds of times, “Be not afraid”. On the other side of fear is a spiritual adventure that you will never regret!
Today’s challenge: Die to self totally and completely. Let Jesus love you.
Be a servant, be a saint today!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; We will live again!)
I think that God is trying to tell us that when it is your time and place you got to go take a chance. He will help you through the way of it and it might be bad at the moment but it will get better by the end.
We have to trust in the Lord and have faith in him. He is the reason all of us are present on the earth today. If we don’t trust the Lord, how will we make hard choices in life. So, you have to trust in there Lord, and he will be there for you, no matter what.
When Jesus preaches in His hometown, he clearly states, with no rhymes or riddles, that He is the Son of God. Once he does, the people that had known Him growing up thought He was crazy. They then took Him to the edge of a cliff to throw Him off, because they did not believe. Jesus asks Him to believe, even though it is hard, or even crazy. So we need to trust in Him, and believe.
I think that Jesus is trying to say that being Catholic is going to be hard. I think he’s trying to say that there will be people who will make fun of us for our religion there will be people who will prosecute our religion but we have to stay strong and trust in the Lord our God because without him there is nothing and without him we cant do or be anything.
What is happening today is when Jesus is talking to the people in the synagogue they get really angry and take him outside and get ready to throw him off the cliff. I don’t really know why they got super angry. He was talking about the prophets not being accepted in their home. I think we can relate to the prophets in the way that sometimes you have to go elsewhere to be accepted. Some people are cruel and will not accept you.
I today’s gospel it speaks of the widows and how the sky was closed for 3 and 1/2 years. It talks of lepers and all the famins of Israel and how people are leaving others to die one day they became furious with one man and chased him out of the city but all he was pass through them for he was him.
“But he passed through the midst of them and went away.” this is the word of God,this to me is not just a simple phrase but the truth he will pass through the midst of us when we do not believe in him anymore.
Jesus died on the cross for us, he had us in mind when he died. Yet still many people do not accept him and his sacrifice, Jesus is present in our tabernacles and in the Eucharist today. So when we do not feel accepted we can go to him because he loves us so much.
I never really got why Jesus was not accepted by the people he came to save. It confuses me. Jesus came saving people, healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, healing the paralyzed, and giving hearing to the death, yet he got rejected by the people of power. I guess they felt threatened by what he said.
Lots of people rejected Jesus during His time. People thought that it was basically impossible to be the son of God and they called Him out for it. I feel like what ultimately led to Him dying was that people couldn’t accept the fact that He was the son of God. When we sin we reject God in some way though it may not be fully rejecting Him it is what leads us to sin. For example when we sin we know we are doing it and still do it anyway. God gave us confession to get closer to Him when we do sin.
something that I got out of this was that we should not be afraid. We know the almighty creator of the universe, yet we will be afraid of the smallest things in this small world. We all need to relax, and realize that the only thing that we have to worry about is whether we go to heaven or hell. It doesn’t matter if we are rich or poor, popular or not, or having good looks or not. None of those things will determine whether we get to spend the rest of our life with Jesus or not, and we should realize this, and be more relaxed instead of overthinking the small things.
I feel like in this day and age people think you cant let your guard down, you cant be vulnerable. Giving everything you have to God is hard because of that, it makes you realize that it’s hard to give yourself up. Even though the Lord says “do not be afraid” we still are and it is very humbling because you want to go to heaven, you want to live for God but its taking that one big step to let everything go and let God take over. It’s hard to accept and no one will be perfect at it but we are human and God will always forgive us and love us no matter what we just have to try our best.
I am most afraid of dying to myself, losing control, being vulnerable and giving my life completely to God. I am afraid that it will be a harder life. I feel like these sentences are so true because i am truly afraid of losing control not being able to stay on the righteous path to heaven and eventually complete leaving the path to God so i must pray and remember that God loves me more than anything.Amen
This story brings the real truth into reality. Jesus says that he is the son of God, and everyone else in the synagogue was furious. The truth was hatred of the priests, because it was blasphemy. Sometimes when someone knows the answer to a question and the other asks prove it. You give them the proof but they do not believe. If we believe in something. Then Faith is belief. What do you believe in, what makes you get out of bed and think of this person. Jesus has told us that he is the one that can heal, restore, make and give life. heals life, restores life, makes life, and gives life to things without life. Jesus is the one that can do what no prophets can do. This is who we believe in. We put our faith in the one who can do these acts of serving. This is who I believe in. The son of God. JESUS!
In today’s Gospel, Jesus preaches to the people in the synagogue of Nazareth and they become angry and furious with Jesus and take Him to the edge of a cliff to throw Him down. Jesus doesn’t allow this to happen and He passes through the crowd. Jesus had to die on the cross to save us from sin and He wouldn’t allow anyone to get rid of Him any time before that. Jesus also had to rise from the dead three days after dying to open the gates of heaven for everyone so that we may have eternal life. Jesus suffered greatly for all of us because He loves and cares about us.
It says we have to let God be in control. To me this stands out because it shows that we have to fully let God be the center of our life. We must trust in Him and His ways. He has a plan for us, we have to follow in his ways and let Him lead us to Him and our future. He will not take us down the wrong path if we let him lead us.
In today’s gospel and throughout the new testament Jesus was not accepted sometimes people don’t feel accepted in certain places or at all but there’s someone who will always accept you and that’s Jesus
in Todays scipture it talks about how we should not be afraid to change. Jesus tells us in the Scriptures hundreds of times, “Be not afraid” we shopuld not be afraid to spread the Gospel because change is apart of life.
” Jesus tells us in the Scriptures hundreds of times, “Be not afraid”. On the other side of fear is a spiritual adventure that you will never regret!” Today God is telling me that Jesus wants us to not fear anyone, because if we do fear then we would never experience anything. The first time you tried something like swimming you were scared and didn’t know how to, but the more you learned, the less scared you got. Also like the devil, you probably were scare of him till you knew that God was there with you are once you knew you had The Most Highest with you then you became less scared. Dont let fear ruin your chances with things for God is always with you.
“Today, let us be courageous men and woman, truly die to self and allow God to be in control.” I feel like this is saying to let go and sit in prayer and just listen. Listen to God. I also thing this could mean, when your in a situation, ask yourself what would Jesus do. Also let God lead your mind.
The reason we don’t always accept Jesus and do our own thing, most of the time it is because we are afraid that it will be a harder life.
to never be afred of God and to always go back to him when even you get scared or mad
In today’s Gospel Jesus is talking about how His home town will reject him as the prophets have been rejected by their home town. We should all be accepting to anyone who deserves it.
This scripture is calling/telling me to not be afraid and let God take all my problems. To let God help me with my fears and life in general. That its ok to be scared, and to follow your heart.
¨they were all filled with fury.¨ Even though You may not always be pleased with WHat Gods plan is it is still his plan and you have to losten and try to build a relationship. He may do things you dont like but in the end it will be the right thing to do.
something that stuvk with me when I read this is that why is that we are still afraid of death even tho Jesus defeated death and made it able for us to got to heaven. Jesus conquered death and saved us from sin and he has his arm open and wide for us even when we sin Jesus is always there for us and yet we still sin and are afraid when our Lord is the light.
I think the scripture is trying to tell us that we need to not be afraid to change because if we are we may never be able to become closer to Jesus.
in today’s scripture reflection it talks about Jesus healing others,he heals your sin and your sadness that you have.Jesus has the power to heal,he had the power to raise people from the dead.Jesus Christ Died for our sins, the devil will tempt me more because I am trying to give myself completely to God.
It was telling me to let myself die to know God’s will!
Today Jesus told me that we may not be accepted. That’s OK we have to do what is right no matter what. We can’t just do something just so other people think we are cool. Those people doing the unjust are not “cool”. IN the eyes of God he doesn’t care if you are trying to be cool he cares that you are trying to be like him.
Today’s gospel tells us that Jesus is telling us that when it comes to faith seeing isn’t always believing. The people of Nazareth watched Jesus grow up so when he was telling them of his divine origin they did not believe him. We must listen to what God is telling us unlike the people in Nazareth and also unlike the people of Nazareth we must believe in it too.
in today’s gospel something stuck out to me “Jesus had the power to heal, raise people from the dead, He is Word made Flesh to tell everyone about salvation and eternal life. He died on a cross for these people. Yet they did not accept Him. ” this stuck out to me because he did all these things for people and they didn’t accept him. Jesus loved them, Jesus cared for them, and Jesus feed them, and died on the cross for them. Jesus did all these things and he didn’t get accepted.
“AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, NO PROPHET IS ACCEPTED IN HIS OWN NATIVE PLACE.” LK 4:24-30.In todays Gospel Jesus returns to Nazareth. He tells the people that he is God but the people do not believe him and want to execute him. This reminds me how brave God was and gives me courage to also live a brave and happy life with him as a part of it
In today’s Gospel Jesus says that no prophet is accepted in his own native places. Jesus was not accepted even though he died on the cross to save us. We have to accept others the same way God accepts us.
“Amen, I say to you,
no prophet is accepted in his own native place.”
I think God is trying to say that prophets aren’t believed and followed where they live because nobody believes them. They never believe the prophets because they only did it to one person, like Elijah only went to one widow when there were many, only Naaman the Syrian was cured of leprosy even though there were a ton. They all got mad when Jesus said this because they were asking themselves in fury “If God is so great why didn’t he cure all the lepers, or send someone to all the widows?” And that question was answered when Jesus was born, because only those two people, the widow and Naaman, worshiped God. All the rest of the lepers and widows most likely blamed Go for taking their husbands or for letting them have the leprosy they have.
I think this scripture is telling us to be ourselves. even is we dont fit in to somewhere we need to act ourselves , Jesus acted himself and some people didnt like him for it but he found the people that truly liked him for who he was .like his diciples.
What God is telling me today is that when he read the scriptures out loud and was thrown out to be stoned he walked away from the crowd and said not today. He was foreshadowing that is was not his time yet to die for our sins on the cross and save us.
In this Gospel God told me that not everyone agrees with us and that is ok because sometimes the right thing isn’t always popular and the popular thing isn’t always right so that’s why you have to stand for your faith even if it is against everybody no matter what
Something that stuck out to me from the Gospel today was when Jesus said, “No prophet is accepted in his own native place.” This stuck out to me because I felt like it was foreshadowing His own crucifixion by His own people, like how Elijah and Elisha the prophet were not accepted by their own people.
Today in the Gospel Jesus returns to Nazareth. He tells the people in Nazareth that he is God. We need to accept God into our life as Catholics and fully devote ourselves to God.
Jesus had the power to heal, raise people from the dead, He is Word made Flesh to tell everyone about salvation and eternal life. He died on a cross for these people. Yet they did not accept Him. What this means to me is that we want to see it visually and it’s hard to believe but that is the whole point of having faith. We have to trust he will help you even though you can’t see him but he is always watching you. That is what this meant to me.
“Be not afraid.” We don’t have to be afraid because Jesus is always right next to us no matter what, and so is our guardian angel. He will always be there for us when times are tough and when were injured and sick, He will be the one that heals us. ” I want to get closer to Jesus, too. But, I am most afraid of dying to myself, losing control” You do not have to be afraid or scared to be with God.
The scripture today is telling us to not be afraid of God. Go to him when you are mad,sad , hurt, ect. He will always have time for you so you should try to find time for him. it doesn’t matter where you are as long as you are focused on him and nothing else, you can pray there. Their is no such thing as praying in the wrong spot, it just that you are either not focused, or you truly are focused, that is what makes prayer good and bad. Every time you pray make sure you are focused so you don’t drift away from God.
In most cases we do not want to accept God into our life because we are afraid of what our life will be if we are not in total control. If we do accept God, we will learn how much better we will feel spiritually and mentally. It may seem hard but it is good to remember that Jesus is waiting for you with open arms, all he needs is for you to accept him into your life completely.
when it says that no prophet is accepted into there own native place Jesus wasn’t accepted but still did everything for us
I think God is trying to tell me to never lose sight of Him. Many bad things happen to us in our daily lives but we should remember that God is with us. Jesus is the messiah he is the only one who has defeated death. Through His life he shows us what it is like to live and walk in faith with God.
“Amen, I say to you,
no prophet is accepted in his own native place.
This means to me that no prophet is accepted into his own native place and God will be the only one to accept you.
Today’s Gospel tells us that we will not be accepted at first. We have to keep praying, believing, and being like Christ in our own way. It is okay to not be “right” your first couple of times. You just have to keep trying and trying, and God will take you in as one of His own.
Today’s Gospel talks about how Jesus went to his home town of Nazareth to go to the synagogue. He tells them that no prophet is accepted into his home town. We need to learn to believe and trust in people that we think should deserve it. We need to believe in God.
“AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, NO PROPHET IS ACCEPTED IN HIS OWN NATIVE PLACE” I interpreted that this means that even if we have belonged in one place, like the place our ancestors lived, we might not be accepted somewhere that is someone else’s place they are accepted. Jesus was accepted by his family and friends but the world rejected him.
I think today in the Gospel God is telling us that the path to him will not be easy. We must always follow God’s will, even if the people who you know cast you out.
“He still has the power to heal today through priests, He is present in all of our tabernacles, with those in prayer.”
Priest put prayers over people who need them, and they become better. Why? Because when the Priest are praying over people, and at the same time Jesus is in them making miracles happen.
He is saying that he is the messiah and that makes everybody in the synagogue very mad and they try to through him head first off a hill but He just passes through their midst.
God was rejected by many but you will never be rejected by God. Gods plan for you is so much bigger than your worries, God always has a plan for you and his plan is always the best option even when it doesnt feel like it at the time
Jesus died for us so that we would feel accepted! He also died for many other reasons, but this is a big one. If we don’t feel accepted, we are not following God’s wants. We need to make others feel accepted, and us.
In today’s Gospel it says how many people rejected Jesus and God, and it is saying how God will never reject us as people. Including that Gods plan if bigger than our worries in our life. And that Gods plan is the best option we have in life.
“They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong. But he passed through the midst of them and went away.” They were trying to kill Jesus, but his time had not yet come, so he left without a sound.
In the Gospel today Jesus tells the people that he is the Son of God. Even the people that knew him very well thought he was just crazy and that he was a lair. They took him to a hill to throw him off but then he told them again he is the Son of God. This is telling us that we need to trust him and believe in him.
this scripture Is telling me to not be afraid of change, or death. Whether that is going to a new school, new friends, a relative dying, having your plans changed last minute, etc. Because no matter what changes- everything in your life could change right this second, but God wouldn’t. The faith and the love of God will always be with you no matter what goes on in your life.
I think that Jesus is trying to say that being Catholic is going to be hard. I think he’s trying to say that there will be people who will make fun of us for our religion there will be people who will prosecute our religion. God was rejected by many but you will never be rejected by God. Gods plan for you is so much bigger than your worries. God is always there for you and has never left your side even if it seems like it.
The pathway to finding faith in God will always be difficult. But you should always stay on that path and not steer left or right. God wants us all to rest with him eternally in Heaven. Just because we not be accepted here does not mean we won’t be accepted in Heaven with God. Stay faithful and stay holy.
No one wants to be vulnerable because of the fear of being hurt. God is the only one who can get that fully and can always be on your side. He knows when to be there and to step in. He wouldn’t let you fall into despair because He cares for you. God is a safe place for you to go to give up your sufferings to Him so he can give you His strengths.
In today’s scripture, Jesus is teaching the people in the synagogue. They didn’t want to believe what he was saying, they got angry and tried to hurt him. Sometimes we need to welcome what Jesus is trying to tell us.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus talks about how Prophets are not accepted into their own native place. The people are mad about this and they drove Jesus out of the town and brought Him to the brow of the hill. They were going to throw Jesus off the hill but Jesus turned around and went away. Even Jesus gets rejected by the people, even though He is God. Everyone gets rejected by others, even if you are popular. We reject God, but God will never reject us because He loves us very much. We should accept God into our lives instead of rejecting Him.
What I understood from this is that it is important to accept people and not make them feel left because get left out hurts.
He still has the power to heal today through priests, He is present in all of our tabernacles, with those in prayer, and His Word is always living and effective. I always think that it would be so cool to see Jesus in person. We get to see Him everyday. He is inside of us after we receive communion. He is always with us even if you can’t see Him.
Jesus is trying to tell us we belong to him. He has the power to heal, and he shall heal our souls if we let him. Jesus speaks through the Priests so that we can have a personal relationship. We all want to grow closer but some might be afraid it will make them weak. It wont , growing closer to God only makes you stronger physically, mentally and spiritually.
Jesus today tells the Rabbi he is the messiah. As a result he is brought to a hill to be thrown off. However he passes through them and goes away. God will tell us what needs to be said ,but it is up to us whether we want to hear it. God loves us and wants the best for us so we must listen to him.
Jesus died on the cross for us and our sins. Yet we still don´t accept him. We have rejected him so many times but he still tries and still comes back to us. Even after the amount of time we have rejected him he will never reject us. Jesus has a plan for us and wants us to talk to him.
Today what stuck out to me is to be okay and accept the fact that not everyone will like you or accept you. Many times you want to please everyone and never fully are yourself. Jesus wasn’t accepted yet he still was Himself and preached and healed. He waited to find the people that truly cared and accepted him for who He was and who was willing to listen to Him. I feel we should do the same things and do the hard things when others are weak.
Many people denied that Jesus was God. We need to have the courage to stand up for our faith. Try to do what is right and do what Jesus would do. If people don’t accept you for doing the right things, Jesus will always accept you. Don’t let yourself fall away from God, make sure to stay on the right path to heaven.
Sometimes, we may feel like we are not good enough for God. We may feel like a dissapointment or even rejected by God. But in reality, God’s love never stops, ever. We feel like were not good enough because, we feel we HAVE to be perfect for God, but it’s impossible. Were going to make mistakes and slip up in life, but if we repent and do God’s word, we WILL go to Heaven.
I believe that in today’s Gospel, Jesus is explaining how He will be treated similarly to the prophets of the past. He will be shunned by His own people. Then when the people heard this, they proved His point and drove Him out.
The scripture today is telling us to not be afraid of God. Go to him when you are mad,sad , hurt, etc. He will always have time for you so you should try to find time for him. it doesn’t matter where you are as long as you are focused on him and nothing else, you can pray there. God should be one of our main focuses in life because he has done so much for him and giving him our praise is the least we can do.
We have to have faith and trust in God at all times. Gods love never stops so we just have to trust in him.
We have to be denied before we are accepted, and we may fail before we achieve our glory. Just like Jesus, we are denied and cast down. But just like Jesus, we can either choose to stay down or we can get back up again and on our path. We are all destined for glory with God and through that, we have to get back up with Jesus and take up our cross.
I think God is telling us that we always need to belive in him. When he was going to be king no one believed and everyone didnt agree. We need to be the opposite and trust God and believe that he is truely king.
I feel that in today’s Gospel it was telling me that we should not be vulnerable and that we should not be afraid. We should not be vulnerable to some people because most people are vulnerable and let the wrong people in that can hurt them, we should mostly only be vulnerable to God and not be afraid of him.
We have to trust and believe in Jesus. He did all these things for us and yet some of us still don’t believe in him. What else does God need to do? Jesus has done countless miracles and works for others and yet people criticized him. Believe in Jesus, love Jesus, give up everything for Jesus.
The biggest question is, why do we not want to follow Jesus? We know so much about Him, yet we barely even want to care about Him. Either we don’t care or we’re just afraid. What are we afraid of? Comments from other people about who you are. Ignoring these comments shows that we are stronger and that we truly believe in Him. Trust God and all will be fine.
Jesus was perfect, and he healed many people, but he was still rejected by his hometown friends and loved ones. We have to be strong and follow in God’s path for us even when we are shunned by people we love.
“When the people in the synagogue heard this, they were all filled with fury.” this part of the Gospel stuck out to me, because sometimes I think hearing the truth can be painful. Jesus tells the truth, coming out as the Son of God to his hometown, and this fills them with anger. As humans, hearing truths can be hard sometimes, especially if we don’t want to hear that specific truth. But we are called to accept His Word and believe what he says, unlike the people of His own community.
I think that Jesus is trying to say that being Catholic is going to be hard. But if we have jesus on our side we will be able to repel the devils intentions. He still has the power to heal today through priests, He is present in all of our tabernacles, with those in prayer, and His Word is always living and effective. He is with you and I now.
Today, I believe that God is preaching about how being a part of the Catholic faith won’t be easy in our generation. Even in his generation it was hard although considering he could condemn miracles and help those who seek it, it must’ve been hard for him to fit in and be alike to the others. Even through all of the unfairness and not being included, in the end God will greet us with open arms and it will all be worth it.
The scripture is saying to listen to God and trust His plans for you. God already has our life set, He has fixed all of our problems we are worrying about and has answered all the questions we wonder, we just need to obey and believe in Him and trust that He has a plan for us and whatever that plan is, know that it will end up being okay in the end.
What stuck out to me in today’s scripture is “be not afraid”. I think Jesus is telling us that we need to not be afraid and we need to spread the gospel and not be afraid of what others think of you.
They didn’t believe Jesus was God. They were waiting for a savior and when one came and began performing miracles they did not believe when he said he was God. We need to be able to not deny our faith when asked. We should be proud of our faith and try do what Jesus did.
Today I just want to kind of agree with Mr. Geortz. I feel the same way when it comes to wanting Jesus. I want him, but there is that ever present fear that I will become too vulnerable, become unhappy, unsatisfied, and that I will be cast out by others. And I think those fears are natural and occur in most people. Most of us know, at least in our heads, that if we choose to submit ourselves fully to Christ, we will be fulfilled eventually and have so much joy but having that head knowledge is different than the heart knowledge. And I think the only way we can gain the heart knowledge is by actually choosing to give ourselves to him, despite the fear. And in the long run, maybe it’ll make this life a little harder or a lot harder but it will be rewarding.
In today’s scripture it is telling me that Jesus has done so many things for us and we still don’t accept him, we just ignore him and act like he doesn’t matter. He has been rejected so many times and every time he waits for us to come back, he is so forgiving and even though we hurt him he still wants to save us. We are his children and he wants to help us to all return to him in heaven. We have to open our eyes and realize Jesus is holding out his hand to guide us, we just have to accept his hand and let him lead us.
In today’s scripture it says “Amen, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own native place.” This tells me that everyone can get rejected. Like even when you are popular and everyone likes you, you can still be rejected. A lot of people have rejected God but God has never rejected them. God loves us so much and he cares about us that is why he didn’t reject us. He will always love us and never stop caring. We should never reject God he is true love.
“he passed through the midst of them and went away.” Jesus just walked away he had the power to stop them from killing him just by walking away.
it was that easy for him to say no and they couldn’t do anything about it they couldn’t stop him from leaving they were trying to kill him and it was not the time so once again he just walked right through them and left.
Today Jesus tells us we must give up ourselves. Jesus wants us to realize the only opinion that matters is his. We must lift up all of our worries and hardships to Jesus. Let him be in control. We will never be accepted for who we are wherever we go, people will always want a fake version of you. Jesus is the opposite. He sees your sins and mistakes, yet he loves you more than anyone. Come as you are to the Father right now. He will love you through everything and he is the only true peace we will ever have in our lives.
“Again, there were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha the prophet; yet not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.” Today’s reading is a little bit harder to understand, but it talks about Jesus telling everyone that he is the messiah. This verse I thought was interesting because even though there were many lepers the only one cleansed was Naaman, the Syrian which made the other people in the synagogue very angry.
I think that the gospel is trying to tell us is that, Jesus went through more pain then we thought. We all know that it must have hurt to been wiped over and over and then have to carry a heavy cross to your death. But what about the mental pain he felt, people that looked up at him and believed in him, are now making fun of you and mocking you while you walk the road to your death. It must hurt to see your mother watching from the crowds, not being able to do anything to save you. Jesus had to walk the lonely road while all of his disciples and followers denied knowing or believing Jesus. The people he saved watch and might have had some sympathy but they didn’t do anything about it. He gives and gives and gives, and all we do is take and take, sometimes even take more than he has. Jesus gave everything and even more, yet the people still insulted him and mocked him when he was on his way to die. He saved Barabbas (us) and what he do. Nothing! We watch him suffer and we are thinking that it must suck to be him. We need to love Jesus for what he did for us mentally and physically.
If you want to follow Christ you will have people that make fun of you or mock you for being Catholic but even then you still need to believe.
I think that Jesus is saying in the Gospel that we are blinded with sin, so we can not recognize him. If a man came into the church and said he was God that we would reject him. this is how the people Jesus was preaching to felt like. They thought he was crazy! We need to look through what makes sense and realize that God is there.
In today’s Scripture Jesus is telling me that people may not believe what you know is correct even though it is. You must stick with your option and stay strong. If it is correct you keep going, but say someone doesn’t think research the truth so they can what is right not that you want to prove them wrong.
I think he is trying to tell me being Catholic is not easy it takes a lot of work to be catholic but he will help us on our way to be catholic even if we are not accepted as Catholics he wants us to preach to others and spread the word because if other people don’t like it at least we know Jesus loves it. even if your rejected by the people he wants us to keep trying no matter what and just never give up on our faith or his love.
People today compare themselves to everyone they see. people are always going to hate you they will always hurt you no matter how perfect you are, because they pesicuted and killed a perfect man.
I think this Gospel is telling me is that God forgives all. Jesus went through so much pain and suffering and he still forgave the soldiers that were doing all those things to him. He is so loving and caring he wants us to love Him so he gives us patience and time to come to Him.
Something that stood out to me was: ¨Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.¨ this stood out to me because we are asking the Holy spirit to help us on how to pray and to help us know the Truth about God the father and God the son.
Today I think Jesus is trying to tell us that it is really hard to give your whole life to God. But we have to trust in him. Thats where our faith comes from is trust and I think we need to trust that we can always go back to God.
Jesus had the power to heal and raise people from the dead. But today, he can heal us through priests, tabernacles, and those in prayer.I think Jesus is trying to tell us to accept him and let Him love us.
What I get from this is that you shouldn’t judge people just because they are different from you. You should accept everyone in the world for who they are and never make fun of them. Accept everyone just how Jesus did and always follow his words and listen to his examples.
what I think the gospel is saying is that when we don’t feel accepted or feel like we don’t belong Jesus will accept us and teach us how to be a better version of ourselves. Jesus is there in the bad and in the good we need to talk to others if we see someone left out we should go and try to be their friend. that’s what I think the gospel is saying.
I think what God is trying to tell us here today is that it can be difficult to be accepted by a majority when you are part of the minority. In today’s Gospel, Jesus says that no prophet is accepted in his native place. The Nazarenes, when they heard this, were filled with fury and anger and drove Jesus out to the hillside. This makes Jesus’s statement true, as he is from Nazareth and yet his own people don’t accept him. The only difference is that Jesus is not a prophet, but the long-awaited Messiah. Sometimes, having an opinion that isn’t accepted by the majority can be difficult. You may get ridiculed or mocked, but your opinion should be heard. Just because it is not seen by the majority does not mean it is wrong. The better choice is always one that is right, not one that is widely accepted.
I think what the Gospel is trying to say that sometimes you may have to go through some struggles to be a Catholic. But you always just have to remember that soon enough you will be living an eternal, Faithful life in Heaven.
In the gospel Jesus says he is the Messiah. The people are mad at him.But when they tried to kill him he passed in there midst. That to me says that God can do anything. And he will reveal himself to you.
In the Gospel today is talking about how we sometimes don’t realize how much pain and suffering he has gone thought he is strong. It’s a terrible what they did to Jesus just imagine how you would feel in his place and time. We should look up to him he is our role model he died for us for a reason. When he also gives us a chance we should accept it because he is trying to help us because he truly loves us for who we are. We should take that chance because we should be better and we should tells others. We need to thank God and love him for his mission and his plan for us because even though he was struggling he never gave up. Because he didn’t want to give up on us and he wanted to live on this earth and the eventually we will be up in heaven with God. Have a good rest of your day! God Loves You!! God Bless!!!
“Be not afraid”. On the other side of fear is a spiritual adventure that you will never regret!
“Amen, I say to you” These words are used a lot in the bible I think they mean I’ Praying for you as I say these words but i’m not fully sure.
Jesus was rejected by some people and we should learn from that and not just reject people by how they look.
Jesus went to Nazareth to talk to the people in the synagogue. He then told them there were many widows in Israel
in the days of Elijah. The people were angry and pushed him out the town.
In today’s gospel, Jesus said that those who break the most commandments will be called least in the kingdom of heaven and those who don’t break as many commandments and teach others to do so, will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven. I think that this message is pretty clear. We must think about our actions and take charge of them. Jesus says it himself. The less commandments you break, the greater you will be in heaven.
Jesus had the power to heal, raise people from the dead, He is Word made Flesh to tell everyone about salvation and eternal life. He died on a cross for these people. Yet they did not accept Him. What I get from this is that you shouldn’t judge people just because they are different from you. You should accept everyone in the world for who they are and never make fun of them. Accept everyone just how Jesus did and always follow his words and listen to his examples.
What I think the Lord was trying to tell me is that the Lord can do any thing from healing the sick to consiveing a child in the womb of Mary and in his eyes anything is possible and that we should just trust him because he knows what he is doing.
” Jesus tells us in the Scriptures hundreds of times, “Be not afraid.” What this meant to me was that if we are afraid of the outcome of something or just afraid at all that God will be by our side and along every step of the way
