Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people:
“Hear another parable.
There was a landowner who planted a vineyard,
put a hedge around it,
dug a wine press in it, and built a tower.
Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey.
When vintage time drew near,
he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce.
But the tenants seized the servants and one they beat,
another they killed, and a third they stoned.
Again he sent other servants, more numerous than the first ones,
but they treated them in the same way.
Finally, he sent his son to them,
thinking, ‘They will respect my son.’
But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another,
‘This is the heir.
Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.’
They seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
What will the owner of the vineyard do to those tenants when he comes?”
They answered him,
“He will put those wretched men to a wretched death
and lease his vineyard to other tenants
who will give him the produce at the proper times.”
Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures:
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
by the Lord has this been done,
and it is wonderful in our eyes?
Therefore, I say to you,
the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you
and given to a people that will produce its fruit.”
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables,
they knew that he was speaking about them.
And although they were attempting to arrest him,
they feared the crowds, for they regarded him as a prophet. MT 21:33-43, 45-46
We have all been the Pharisees before. God sent prophets and His own Son to reveal His Will to the world. God wants us back in heaven with Him. The Jews rejected the prophets and now Jesus. Fear, hatred, jealousy, pride, selfishness can all deter or distract us from striving to be holy. I know I have fallen in some or all of these areas before. Jesus warns us that the “Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit, ” if we do not repent and change.
The opposite of fear is trust, the opposite of hatred is love, the opposite of jealousy is gratitude, the opposite of pride is poor in Spirit/humility/detachment from worldly goods (God is big I am small, I need God) and the opposite of selfishness is unselfishness or a servant. The Devil brought envy into the world because he wanted to be God. The opposite of the Devil is humility. When we have pride we make ourselves gods. Jesus teaches us and models humility. He is the cornerstone the builders rejected. He emptied Himself and became a slave to give His life for the ransom of many. He came to serve, not to be served. He models holiness for us. If we are struggling in one of these areas, we can come to God’s grace, mercy, and love and ask Him to help us repent, change the way we look at life, and grow in holiness.
Jesus teaches us justice today as well, “He will put those wretched men to a wretched death and lease his vineyard to other tenants who will give him the produce at the proper times.” I don’t know about you, but I need to be held accountable. I need to sweat in line in confession. I need to know that my actions can lead to destruction and ultimately living in hell for all eternity. This is something that has been lost even in our own Catholic faith today. If there is no accountability, everyone lives in mediocrity. It is a staple of our culture today. God’s power that lives in us calls us to so much more. It is the hardest and scariest decision you will ever make, but one with eternal rewards! If it didn’t cost something, it wouldn’t be the Truth!
Today’s challenge: Repent and change your life, grow in holiness by recognizing how much we need God, increase your prayer, love your soul more than your body, and serve others. Take ownership of your actions and forgive, go to confession and set things right with God!
Be a servant, become a saint!

I think this scripture is saying that we have a lot of distractions that come our way, pride, jealousy, wealth, fame, and much more. We have to learn how to face those and grow more in holiness. God died for us and had to face all the same things.
This Gospel was about the scriptures. We should listen to the scriptures and practice them and always trust in God.
Mr. Dappermint
In the gospel I feel it says even if others treat you with disrespect and/or hate then you should return with love. God will take care of the hate that they had given you.
This scripture means that a bad tree cannot grow good fruit. A good tree can produce good fruit.
This Gospel reminds me of how God sent His son to the world. We are God’s tenants of this earth and we are the ones who killed Jesus. Jesus foretells this to us in this Gospel. We must love everyone.
What the scripture is saying to me is that we must be respected by God to enter Heaven and if we aren’t yet we wait in purgatory.
We need to realize that our actions can be confessed and forgiven but could still destroy our lives and we could end up in hell. We need to try not to sin even though it may happen, but go to confession soon after.
A phrase that stuck out to me was The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes. I like this phrase because people reject the lord and he takes that hate and turns it into love to help others and need. Even through the person rejected the lord he still loves them.
This gospel is telling me that I need to take ownership of my actions and to not blame others. It is much easier to blame others than to blame yourself.
When we do not preach to others and set a good example to other Christians, we are destroying God’s followers and kingdom. We must flourish in our faith and preach to others
Today Jesus says, “the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit”. That is what happens when we sin and make bad choices. Most little sins by themselves aren’t going to completely take Heaven away from you if you still make good decisions in your life, but it happens when all the little sins build up and when you make bigger sins. That is why we need confession. It gets rid of all the sins, big and small, and lets you start over. Everyone will sin at some point, but the important part is learning how to resist sin better and make good confessions. The people who do that are the “people that will produce its fruit”.
I think that the Scripture is telling us to that we should never get jealous like the tenants did. They let envy take them over so that they could have the vineyard for themselves.
We have all been the tenants before. Anyone who wants to help, is sent away. Those who have power in your eyes are shut out or you use them to gain power. We all want something. It all depends on the way you go about getting it and how you use what you want.
I think this Gospel passage is telling me to read the Scripture more often. If we don’t read the Scripture, The Word of God, then we won’t actually understand what God is trying to tell us and teach us.
Today’s scripture reflection has a good meaning to it. I think the main meaning of this scripture reflection is that whatever we do is good to God and vice versa. For example, if we make fun of someone for their looks then we are making fun of God because he created that person in His own image and likeness. It also goes the other way when we respect someone we are respecting God. So the next time you want to make fun of someone remember that you are not only hurting that person but you are also hurting God.
Scripture tells us that we can all be forgiven. God is very forgiving. Although we sin, there is still hope. We still need to try our best to not sin, but God is still there for us. He loves us.
In today’s gospel Jesus is telling the scribes and Pharisees that they have not been cultivating his harvest, that they have not been shepherding his sheep, and that Jesus is the son that God, the landowner has sent. And just like the wicked tenants in the parable, the Pharisees will put the son to death. Jesus is once again telling everyone that he will die and rise for us.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that we need to try to grow in holiness so that we can go to Heaven and be with God and have eternal life with Him.
When we go to mass, are we just doing the motions and what everyone else is doing, or are we listening and trying our best to participate and understand. What I took from this gospel is that in order to do the Lord’s will, you have to spread the gospel to others which is not easy. We all need to take part in our faith. I think that is what he means when he says produce its fruit.
To me the point of this Gospel was that we aren’t going to get into Heaven if we’re just living life however we want. We have to try for God. In trying we can spread the Word of God, let others know God loves them, do random acts of kindness, pray, confess our sins, and countless other things. God wants us to be with Him in Heaven, but He gave us a choice, and we have to realize that the gift is great and eternal, the consequence is bad and also eternal. Why wouldn’t we want to get to Heaven? He’s laid out exactly how in His greatest example, Jesus Christ, and all we have to do is follow it. Easier said than done, but still, the reward is great.
I think that this Gospel reading is trying to tell us how we need to accept the teachings that God gives to us. In the Gospel, it talks about how the people rejected the tenants, which were the prophets, and also the son of the landowner, Jesus, were all rejected by the people and so they were punished with death. When we reject God’s teachings, we sin and the punishment for sin is death. We obviously know that we will not die if we sin because Jesus died on the cross for us but if we fall into the habit of sin, we will not go to Heaven.
God doesn’t want us to be savages for other things he wants us to stop and repent to him and follow him so we can be disciples for Christ
Today’s Scripture is a parable about the prophets and the Son on Man. The Pharisees even realize that Jesus is talking about them when He references the tenants. He also talks about being rejected like the cornerstone. I think that this can mean that we should try and be more accepting of Jesus and His love if we have ever messed up and don’t think we are worth being forgiven.
I think that God is saying that God will let you flourish if you follow him but if you are mean to God you will not be able to go to heaven.
I think the scripture is saying that we need to respect one another even if we are thought of to be more important than the others. I also think it states that we need to have faith in each other and ourselves.
Today, Jesus is talking to us about how the kingdom of Heaven works. How the ones who work, the ones who produce fruit will enter Heaven. And the ones who do not will not be allowed through the gates
Humans can be ignorant and cocky. We can think that something as small as a simple feat makes us superior. However, we must remember that not everything will come to us, and when we are to do something, we have to actually do it. Only this way shall we “produce its fruit.”
If you don’t do what the Lord asks of you to do he will give it to someone who is worthy of it.
This scripture tells how we should repent and change ourselves. Change meaning that we should grow in holiness by worshiping God and praying for others. It goes way beyond just doing those things but to summarize it is growing in holiness. Jesus came to save us from our sins, which He did, but others just blatantly ignored or rejected Him. Like the builders rejecting the stone. So we must have some humility, modesty, gratitude, trust, love, plus any other good gift to live a spiritual life.
I think that the owner’s son is a foreshadowing Jesus. He was sent to help the world and show us they way, but was harshly killed. The Owner thinks that surely they would respect his son, but the men killed him in order to take his inheritance. God sent his own son to Earth to save us, and though he knew Jesus would die, you would think that-much like the owner thought- they would respect and listen to their masters son.
Humanity is so messed up sometimes. As it says in the scripture “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another,
‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.’ They seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.” The thirst for power is crazy. The selfishness that humanity has. This scripture is a fine example of it. These men were willing to take a mans life for power. If only they understood that they just killed a brother of theirs. Imagine that in your own life. That is more than wrong. That is not love. That is not the love we need to show for each other. That is just selfishness.
Jesus is Gods son. We should respect Jesus because of this but we did not. We crucified Jesus. But, Jesus loved us so much that being crucified did even stop him from telling us he loves us. Not even death could stop him. This is like the parable because God is the vineyard owner and Jesus is his son.
We need to trust God and get eternal life with Him. When we trust in His word we can get farther in life but when we question His word we are getting no where. We need to trust God with our life.
God is just. “He will put those wretched men to a wretched death”. If someone does horrible things and won’t repent for it, then they will not go to heaven. But those who do repent and are sorry for their sins, they will go to heaven. God judges justly and gives punishment justly. We must do good to go to heaven and be with the Father.
I think this Gospel is telling us that we need to accept the teachings that HE gives us. Jesus does so much for US and we the people just take advantage of it.
God is telling us that we can’t be just lukewarm. We have to be devoted to the Faith. We have to be stewards of Christ and not be attached to worldly things. Those who do these things will inherit the Kingdom of God.
“Therefore, I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit.” God is saying if we take what we have for granted and we do not live out our call to spread the word and to live of faith then the kingdom (Heaven) will be taken away from us and given to people that will do of God’s call.
Jesus calls us to spread the Word of God throughout the world. Sometimes we take what God has given us for granted, and we should not at all treat His creation like that. We need to trust God and all that He does for us. God loves us so much that we wouldn’t at all comprehend how much He loves.
God is like a tree and the devil is like a trash can and we are like the fruit. We start to grow at our birth, but as time goes on we start to rot due to the sins we’ve done, and once enough sins have been done, we get cut down and thrown out, but there’s a way to prevent this. Enter Confession as the branch. The branch gives us new fruit and gets rid of our old fruit. And then the ground (aka Jesus) takes him upon it like when he died on the cross. The point is, don’t sin.
Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.’ i think that way to often we are ought up in wordy things. we need to let go of the things we don’t need. LET THINGS GO.
You need to cultivate your faith. As Jesus says in the Gospel if you don’t, you will be more prone to sin and because of that, you will continue to sin. We also need to apologize for our sins. Go to confession, don’t receive communion if you are in the state of mortal sin, and be sorry. Your sins, my sins, all of them hurt Jesus. Be sorry to at least try and lessen his pain.
This scripture is telling me to treat people right. In the parable Jesus is talking about himself. He is the son who was sent to go to the vineyard. People did not treat him right. But as of now we need to change and treat people right.
This scripture is telling us to not be a lukewarm follwer you cant just be a ‘christian” you have to actaully do Gods works and pray to him.
I think this Gospel is telling us to respect everyone. Not just our parents or our friends everyone. I feel like we just don’t care about others enough.
We need to respect others, not just our friends and family, not just those we care for, but everyone. We are told to love our enemies as much as we love the people we care for.
Today’s Scripture passage is saying that we should repent our sins and keep things right with God. We should take responsibility for our actions. Our actions and how we treat others will impact our ability to obtain eternal life. We should hold ourselves and others accountable to be more Christ like.
The gospel is telling me to be loving and caring to everyone.
This gospel says that we need to block out distractions and do what God made us for. For example the scriptures are things that tell us what happened in Jesus life. Praying. Praying is the best way to communicate to God and ask for forgiveness for what you have done wrong. For all the other things i didn´t say we should always keep in mind why God made us.
What I think this is saying is that if you don’t praise God then others will for you. They will pray for you and all the other people that don’t know or don’t want to praise him.
I think this scripture is talking about how we should go to confession pretty frequently cause we do sin sometimes. Because when we go to confession our sins are forgiven and we will have a higher chance to get to heaven with Jesus Christ.
What stood out to me was, “The Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit.” It stood out to me because if we don’t follow God the Kingdom of God will be taken away from us. If we follow God, the Kingdom of Heaven will be there for us and we would produce its fruit.
To me this means that the kingdom of God will be ripped away from us if we do not produce the fruit that is necessary for it which in this case is praying. After it is ripped away from us we will have to spend eternity in Hell.
We need to accept everything that God tells us instead of ignoring it. Because if we reject Jesus then we are rejecting our faith which is the most important thing in the world.
We need to listen to God and listen to his callings so the kingdom of heaven will not be taken away from us but be for us.
“Did you never read in the Scriptures.” Jesus is reminding us in that quote that we need to read the scripture to be truly happy.
Jesus says that if we don’t produce fruit, He will be taken away into a place that will bear fruit. We need to not be dead branches, unfruitful, but help grow the Kingdom of God.
I think that this scripture is telling us that not everyone gets treated the same way even if that is in a Catholic school or a public school, It could just come from the household that their living in and that could change the way they act and how they act against each other. The people in the story today were not very thoughtful of the land owners land and would even kill his son so they could try to get his inheritance.
I believe this means that we should not do things that will get us more gain than it will the person who ordered us to do said thing. We need to respect our elders and our bosses, and do the things that are morally right.
It’s telling me that if I don’t do what I need to do while I’m on earth to make me and everyone around me a good person and holier, then I could mess up the chance to go to Heaven. I can’t be to full of myself and thing I’m better than everyone and Jesus. I need to humble myself and start living a more Jesus like life.
Trust in God. This is not something to take lightly if you trust in God he will be happy because he loves you and he desires a relationship with you.
We have all been the Pharisees before. We have been Fear, hatred, jealous, pride, selfish before. We need to stop doing this and love all.
I believe that this scripture is saying that we must always try our best because God is always watching.
I think this means that we should try to spread the word of God. When we do this countless great things are done and you could even change someones life. This is the way to live a married life or have best friends. It is to get those people you love to Heaven and the same the other way. This can;t happen if the people you love don’t know God. So in that case, spread the word of God.
God is telling us to get others to Heaven. If our goal isn’t to get to Heaven it is to get others there with us.
This is telling us to spread the Gospel. Our goal is to get to Heaven and be with God but we also need to get others there too.
I think that this scripture is trying to tell us that we need God in our lives. Humans often think that they are capable of being completely independent. This is not true, all humans need God for guidance. We need God’s guidance so that we can live holy Catholic lives. Otherwise, we will not be able to get to heaven.
