Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph (quickest way to holiness).

As Jesus was passing through a field of grain on the sabbath,
his disciples began to make a path while picking the heads of grain.
At this the Pharisees said to him,
“Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the sabbath?”
He said to them,
“Have you never read what David did
when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry?
How he went into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest
and ate the bread of offering that only the priests could lawfully eat,
and shared it with his companions?”
Then he said to them,
“The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.
That is why the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.” MK 2:23-28

Church means “ecclesia”. God calling His people out of sin, war, hatred, violence, injustice, stupidity, and into holiness, forgiveness, love, peace, and joy as a community of believers. On the 7th day He rested. Every Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We spend time with family and recognize the blessings God has given us. We receive the Eucharist and our venial sins are forgiven, Jesus helps us fight serious sin, we draw closer to Christ, the mystical body of Christ is further united, and we anticipate heaven. Everything in our week should revolve around Sunday worship.

We offer up our week, our prayers, works, joys, and sufferings. We offer a percentage of our earnings to say thank you God for giving us this life, I give you my blood, sweat, and tears in return. God understands what we go through for our money. We exist because of God not because we made ourselves. We didn’t make ourselves to have these talents or gifts. We did not choose to be put in this time and place with these people. The Devil and our culture have us so wrapped up in ourselves and distracted from what matters most. The fastest growing religion in America is the “nones”. They believe they do not need any organized religion. God created right worship through Jesus who set up a Catholic Church to feed our souls and get back to the Father living a faithful sacramental life.

Today, Jesus continues to reveal these things to us by telling the Pharisees and us that He is God. He has came to make all things new, to marry the human and divine. Christ gave all and nothing for Himself. He died to obey His Father and save humanity. We must die to self/our ego, be unselfish, and serve others for our families and communities to survive. We need the Sabbath to help remind us that we have nothing and we are nothing without the Creator and Savior. “The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.”

Today’s challenge: Educate yourself on the Mass, read a book about it. Read about the Eucharist. God first, others second, me third. Invite someone to Mass in your family, workplace or neighborhood who does not go regularly. Have charitable conversations who those who do not think organized religion has a purpose.

Be a servant, become a saint!
