Prayer Prompt before reading LK 23:35-43 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

THE SOLEMNITY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

What truly amazes me about God is that we killed Him with our sins and He came back with love and forgiveness.  God’s love is the most powerful thing in the universe. -Fr. Robert Barron

We are nothing without God.  We have our breath right now because of His love for us. We can do nothing to glorify the Father apart from Jesus when we are not in the state of grace. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

God gave us our life, Jesus died to save us, and the Holy Spirit stays with us individually and as a Church until Christ returns.  Our entire life and everything we have is a gift.  Why did God send His Son during the time of Roman rule?  The Romans were the most powerful force on earth at the time.  The Emperor was called lord and made his people worship him.

God sent a strong message sending His Son onto the earth to show the world for all times and all places that He is King of the Universe, not human power.  The resurrection teaches us that all tyrants have been conquered. God is more powerful than the greatest military, the greatest leader, death and sin.

This is why Christians have been martyred and persecuted in every century. Christians are not afraid to die when there is something greater beyond this place! There can only be one King! Jesus made it very clear who He is and who the Father is. Our identity and purpose come from the King of the Universe! Amazing!

God continues to show His love staying with us in the Eucharist, staying hidden behind bread and wine so we can approach Him.  He stays with us as the Holy Spirit to guide us keeping Truth alive.  He stays with us in every human we meet.  We are called to realize this gift.

Allow prayer with Him to change you, so you can change the world and become a saint! The greatest and most simple thing we can do is realize God is among us when we enter a Church, adoration chapel, and “Wherever two or three gather in my name I am there with you.” MT 18:20 in prayer.

Allow yourself to be transformed by Christ the King of the Universe, it is what we are made for. Then, hopefully we can say with St. Dismas, the good thief, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”  And Jesus will reply, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Today’s challenge: Allow Jesus to be your King.  Die to self and make Christ the center of your life.  It will require sacrifice, but the rewards are eternal.

Be a servant, become a saint!
