Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
As the crippled man who had been cured clung to Peter and John,
all the people hurried in amazement toward them
in the portico called “Solomon’s Portico.”
When Peter saw this, he addressed the people,
“You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this,
and why do you look so intently at us
as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?
The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus
whom you handed over and denied in Pilate’s presence,
when he had decided to release him.
You denied the Holy and Righteous One
and asked that a murderer be released to you.
The author of life you put to death,
but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses.
And by faith in his name,
this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong,
and the faith that comes through it
has given him this perfect health,
in the presence of all of you.
Now I know, brothers and sisters,
that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;
but God has thus brought to fulfillment
what he had announced beforehand
through the mouth of all the prophets,
that his Christ would suffer.
Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,
and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment
and send you the Christ already appointed for you, Jesus,
whom heaven must receive until the times of universal restoration
of which God spoke through the mouth
of his holy prophets from of old.
For Moses said:
A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you
from among your own kin;
to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you.
Everyone who does not listen to that prophet
will be cut off from the people.
“Moreover, all the prophets who spoke,
from Samuel and those afterwards, also announced these days.
You are the children of the prophets
and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors
when he said to Abraham,
In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you
by turning each of you from your evil ways.” Acts 3:11-26
I love the Acts of the Apostles. It teaches us how everything comes together and Jesus fulfilled His mission. Most importantly, we are winners in this mission if we choose it. The Acts of the Apostles increases my faith and helps me understand my faith, “You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses. And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you.”
Has your faith increased in the last 40 days? Why or why not? Now that the Scriptures have been fulfilled, do we still act out of ignorance? What are we doing to continue to educate ourselves about Jesus and get to know Him better? We cannot give up our lives or worship someone we do not know or understand. Keep learning, be a sponge and soak up all that God wants you to know about Him.
The disciples of Jesus recounted what had taken place along the way,
and how they had come to recognize him in the breaking of bread.
While they were still speaking about this,
he stood in their midst and said to them,
“Peace be with you.”
But they were startled and terrified
and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, “Why are you troubled?
And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself.
Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones
as you can see I have.”
And as he said this,
he showed them his hands and his feet.
While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed,
he asked them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
They gave him a piece of baked fish;
he took it and ate it in front of them.
He said to them,
“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that everything written about me in the law of Moses
and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.”
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
And he said to them,
“Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer
and rise from the dead on the third day
and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins,
would be preached in his name
to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things.” LK 24:35-48
Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you.” We just killed Him with our sins and the first thing He says is peace be with you! Who would ever do this? God has infinite radical love for His creation. His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small. All He asks of us is to come to Him, repent (change our lives by changing our thinking), and show this love and mercy towards others. He then goes on to show the Apostles His glorified body, eats a piece of fish, and confirms He is not a ghost. This is why we believe we will have a glorified body after the Second Coming, Jesus does.
What is so important about these Resurrection stories? Jesus Christ is who He says He is and it solidifies everything He has said and done. “He is either God or a very bad man” says Bishop Robert Barron. Second, there are many witnesses of these things and over 100 prophecies fulfilled by Him.
We have no physical or scientific proof that Jesus resurrected (except the Shroud of Turin if it is the burial cloth of Christ), but in Luke’s Gospel today we have witnesses who wrote about Him. Read it slowly. It contains the summary of the whole Bible and everything we need to know to believe, be saved, and get to our heavenly home; the heart’s deepest longing.
Today’s challenge: Read and believe, our minds have been open to the Scriptures through the power of the Holy Spirit in Baptism and Confirmation to help us understand and increase our faith. Live it through your actions, repent and change your evil ways.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Jesus Christ has risen, Alleluia! Do you believe?
I can apply this to my life by praying to grow closer to Jesus and I can also start trusting that God has a plan for me. Also I can ask God for forgiveness.
We are like Thomas. We say we believe, but we want prouf. We want to touch the wounds of Jesus and then we believe, but will we believe? Even if we are given prouf won’t we just keep trying to fing the problems in it. If we don’t belive now how will we believe later? The world has blinded us.
I can apply this to my life by praying to God and by being more aware of my surrounding and others so that I may get to heaven
Peter’s words are still in effect today. There are many who don’t beleive in Jesus, and it’s OUR job, not THEIR job to get them to him. We can’t rely on missionaires to do all of our work for us. scratch that. OTHER missionaires. Because remember that Stewardship poster from a while back: ‘Fully Alive as Missionary diciples’. We ARE the missionaires. Not everybody else. it’s time to stop slacking and lead people to Jesus.
(not that all of you are slacking, of course. Figure of speech.)
I feel that the people that saw Jesus, after he rose from the dead, were a select group of people that were hand picked by God because he knew that they would spread the word like a fire.
Jesus told the people he would rise from the dead 3 days after he died. but after his death, all of them were scared that their friend was killed and brutaly tortured. they thought it was the end of Jesus. but he stayed true to his word and rose again.
Jesus is always with you even if you don’t know it. Jesus will always love you even if you comit the worst sin and he will forgive you.
In this passage we hear that after we kill Jesus because of our sins, he says peace be with you. That is a crazy thing to say after you die from these peoples sins. When he died and rose again he fufilled 100s of prophecies and proved everyone wrong. Choose Jesus, choose to believe and have faith.
This Gospel teaches that when I feel that my faith isn’t as strong, I could look to the Bible for answers because there is so much evidence that proves that Jesus is the Son of God. There were prophets that prophecied all that Jesus was and it all points to Him being the Messiah. Jesus is real and there were things that were fufilled in Jesus so it just proves that this is our Savior.
The Scriptures are so powerful. Reading them and contemplating them helps us to get closer to God. He wants us to be closer to Him and we can start by reading the Scriptures every day. Growing closer to Him is very important because we need Him to live a truly good life.
Peter is asking the people why they are amazed. Jesus Christ did all sorts of healings and miracles, yet they put him to death. Peter works through the power of God, and it’s through God that he can heal people. I think a lot of non-Catholic people aren’t Catholic because they don’t think there’s any proof. But all of these people saw Jesus healing people and performing miracles, and yet they put him to death for it. There’s so much proof that the Eucharist literally turns into the Body and Blood of Christ, there’s so much proof that Jesus really was God, and yet so many of our ignorant human minds refuse to believe it.
One thing that I can take away from this Gospel is to remember to thank God for dying on the cross frequently in my prayer. In this Gospel, Peter tells the people that they denied and aksed for Jesus to be put to death on a cross, but that He has risen and did it for us. I often forget how big of a sacrifice Jesus made for me and it is good to always remember that he did all that for us.
Jesus died on the cross to save us. So we shouldn’t say it is to hard to stay Holy because Jesus suffered a lot more so we can be Holy. Even though no one saw Jesus while he was rising from the dead we have so much proof that he did. We don’t need to see Jesus rise from the dead to know he saved us from our sins and he is the most important.
God is all powerful. He has the power to raise from the dead and perform other miracles. So of course He can forgive our sins and love us no matter how much we sin. It’s just if we decide if we want to restore our relationship with Him.
Peter and John give a crippled man his ability to walk, and the crowds are amazed. Why? Peter asks. Why are you amazed? He tells them it isn’t from them, but from God that the crippled man was able to walk. He tells them that the same man they saw miracles, they killed on a cross. It was their sin that weighted him.
Even tho we don’t have physical or scientific proof that Jeasus had risen, we know that he did. Jesus died for us even though we were the ones that he died for. Jesus loves us even if we don’t love him.
I can relate this to my life by loving and trying my best to recieve Gods love.
The scripture is Talking How we have to have complet and total trust in God.
This reminds me of Jesus saying Blessed by the ones who dont have to see me to belive. This is one of my favorite quotes from the Bible because we need not to only believe what we can feel and see and touch because you will probably not see Jesus in his human body standing right in front of you so you need faith in your prayer and that God is God and that he loves you.
i can apply this to my life by praying to God and trusting in him. he loves us so much we killed him with our sins and he said “peace be with you”
I can apply this scripture to my life by allowing Jesus into my life more often and praying when I can. I can spread the word of God and help others understand the scriptures.
The Apostles were speaking to us in this gospel. They show that we have all we need to believe, yet we dont fully trust God. this is why we need to make a habit of putting our bible and rosary on our pillow
Jesus has risen. And something I heard at Easter Mass, was. “Even though you may not understand, you still believe.” After Mass I started to think about what Father said. And I realized that there are a lot of things that you just believe are true. Things that we dont even forsure know are true. So I say even though you dont understand, Believe.
This shows that God has an infinite amount of love for us. He is made of love and nothing can change that. His love doesn’t have conditions and no matter what we do, he will never love us less. He will always be there for us and provide for us.
God is trying to bring us to Him. Why are we amazed every time there is a miracle? Because we don’t see that very often, but we should at least know that God was at the center of what happens in life. Even if there are no huge miracles in our life, God is always at the center of everything. We as humans are scared to believe. We must learn that believing in God is the best thing that can happen to us. We are like the Apostles in today’s Gospel. We are scared because we don’t particularly know He is real. But deep down we all know that He is. We need to ask God to help open our eyes to what Jesus did for us. We really take for granted what happened 2000 years ago. Jesus died on the cross for us. He went through all that suffering, all that pain, and for what? For us to just turn our backs on Him? This is the problem. We need to recognize what He did for us.
We have proof that Jesus died and came back to life. We have prophecies that Jesus fulfilled yet some people still don’t believe in Him. He gave us the proof that we needed to belive Him. Jesus came to save us and did that to show us how much he cares for us. We should learn how to believe in Him.
I feel like sometimes we look at God as a metaphorical being. Something to the likes of Mythology. Except, he isn’t any of those things. God is literally proving to us, through the apostles and Jesus, that he is indeed real and almighty. We can doubt, but time and time again, are washed clean of doubt. God has proven Himslelf to us, and we need to prove ourselves to Him. As well as helping everyone, as a society, find their way back to Him.
“Now I know brothers and sisters, that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did.” This quote had me thinking. Sometimes it’s important to look at decisions and think about if it’s the decision God wants you to make. To often people make decisions out of ignorance and selfishness, we pick what’s best for ourselves and not others. We need to ask God sometimes before we make decisions to see if it’s what he would truly want from us.
In today’s Gosple Jesus is so powerful there is no one else in this world as powerful as him no matter how strong you are. Jesus lifted some one up from the dead and said peace be with you. If hearing this and knowing this gives you no motivation to pray and talk to Jesus everyday then I don’ know what is wrong with you. We have the gift to choose what we want to do and if we don’t spend just a little bit of time everyday praying and talking to him then your never doing to find your indentity. Jesus loves us so much so we need to love him so much back and be with him everyday.
What i got from this scripture is that Jesus is always there to clean the unlcean and make us holy. The crippled man symbolized someone with sin and peter represented God. The man came to peter and peter made him clean
Jesus’ desciples only recognized Him after He broke bread. Jesus is always with us. It is up to us to see that He has been there for us always, and will continue to help us in our life.
I can apply this to my life by truly believing in Christ and His Resurrection. Though there is no proof that He resurrected, we can still believe. We are going to be ridiculed, sooner or later, about our faith because we believe in a God who died on a cross, but these comments are challenging us to stay faithful to our Lord.
The people in Jerusalem were amazed by John and Peter. But they shoudn’t have because Jesus did this so many times before and they killed him. They let a murderer be set free in Jesus’ place because they were scared of the truth. It said again, like it has in many Gospels, that they need to repent and when they do God will forgive you always.
I can apply this to my life by remembering all God has sacrificed for us. He was cruicified on the cross to save us from our sins. I will worship him and praise him for his never ending love towards us.
I can apply this to my life by trying to be like the Apostles, they followed Jesus until the end and always prayed.
I can apply this to my life by trying to be more like the Apostles, try to pray more and be more holy like them.
On the road to Emmaus the men walking with Jesus didn’t recognize Him. We do not recognize Jesus all the time.
I can reflect on this scripture by always looking to forgive others and acept my mistakes.
God is forgiving, and we need to accept that chance to be forgiven. We need to repent, God is so forgiving even after His son died on the cross for us, and we just think about it as if it was nothing, we need to repent and take as many oppurtunities as possible to as for forgiveness from God.
Jesus’ resuraction is the biggest eye opener that we can have. For anyone to pass over this without realizing that this is GOD. This isn’t just a story but the greatest guide to our life that we can have. The story of Jesus gives us some of the most important information that we can obtain.
I can apply this to my daily life by participating more in church. Not just sit there and have it be just another day. Also I can pray more and ask God what my vocaction is.
ask*
The apostles healed a crippled man and the crowd was in awe, we need to understand that God works through us.
I can relate this to my life by doing good thing in the name of Jesus Christ.
What I took away from this scripture was that we all denied Christ and we need to change.
What I learned from this scriptire passage was that God wants us to spread the gospel to others and change their lives.
Jesus is the God of everyone, no one is higher than him. He came down in our form to show us this. He cares for us more than anyone ever could.
This Gospel today is reminding me that Jeusus suffered. He went through suffering that no person should have to go to. But he did it for me. He did it for you. He loved us so much that he was willing to give his life up so we could endure eternal peace. Everytime we sin, We are making Jesus suffer on the cross just like he did 2,000 years ago. We have to see Jesus suffer when we sin and realize that we don’t need the sin, we need Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.
We need to remember that when we are sinning and hurting Jesus, he is not leaving us; We are leaving him. When we follow him and put all of our faith in him, we are making a promise to try to stay with him always, even when we fail.
Jesus went through so much to help us get to heaven. We don’t realize that he went through so much pain. We need to praise Jesus for what he did to us. As we get older we should continue our faith.
God would do anything for us. He sacrificed His own son for us to be able to get into Heaven. We need to pray to Him and love Him with all our hearts like He does us.
God always has faith in us. We should have faith in him and love him. He knows what is good. He is the good news. We should follow his footsteps and listen to him. He knows the way and knows right from wrong. He is truly a person we can trust and sacrafice our life for.
This scripture is telling me that God know everything and whats best for us. He rose from the dead and showed that He is powerful. We need to put ou trust in him, and have faith and believe in him and his works.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that we need to follow him and not deny him or his teachings.
What this scpiture says to me is that God had revealed himself to us and we didn’t even know it, but when one man is cured, everyone looks as if it is magic, this tells me that I shouldn’t say, “Well I wont believe it unlessI see it” But instead I should read the sciptures that have been passed down from every generation and make something out of it!
In the passage the people were amazed by the miracle that Peter had just performed and Perter responded to them with “Why are you so amazed by this? Do you think that you walk by your own power.” Perter is telling the group that they have a divine creator, God. As humans we want to think that we had just been born and there was no supernatural force that brought them into existance. We want to think that we are in control, but we almost never have control over anything. Humans can’t stop a rain storm or a pandemic. The pandemic left the entiar world in a panicking mess. We as humans need to let go of our attempts to control everything and let God guide us so we can strive to be tha best person that we can be.
God is forgiving, and we need to accept that chance to be forgiven. We need to repent, God is so forgiving even after His son died on the cross for us, and we just think about it as if it was nothing, we need to repent and take as many oppurtunities as possible to ask for forgiveness from God.
This gospel shows us that Jesus can do anything, even die on the cross and raise from the dead.
The scripture today has made me feel that When the diciples Spoke to the people and told them “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?” To me i find this as a question i could find myself trying to answer because if i were in this situation i would be one of those people just saring amazed at the diciples. My favorite sentance that is in this scripture today has to be “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus whom you handed over and denied in Pilate’s presence, when he had decided to release him. You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.” This i can’t even put into words how much this is speaking to me because we let Pilate go and let them beat Jesus. Jesus loves everyone enough to even still love everyone even the one’s who crusified him he is love and he can’t feel anything but love for everyone and everything.
Honestly, over this Lenten season, my faith has very much withered. I don’t know why, but surrounding myself in these religious facts and prayers has made my mind stray from my faith. It seems so weird, I try to keep in touch with my faith, my religion, but no matter what I do, I don’t feel part of it. I feel like deep down, I’m seperated from the church during mass. I feel like it’s a crowd of swans and I’m the mallard. I try so hard to keep it in my life, because I understand that it’s the best for me. God loves me and wants to be with me, and yet I feel like something is wrong. I am going to keep on trying to stay in the faith as hard as I can, and I’ll make sure I go through with this.
I think it means that God wants us to open our hearts and souls and let in The Bible and Jesus and be able to understand the Gospel.
I think the scripture means that we need to help the crippled and homeless just like Jesus did
I think it means for us to open our hearts, minds, and souls and let in The bible, The Gospel, and Jesus Himself through the Eucharist.
In today’s gospel, Peter speaks to the crowds about the resurrestion and why you should repent. But, although Peter is speaking to the crowds directly in the gospel, he is also speaking to us! He tells us that Jesus lives, and the Shroud of Turin shows evidence of this. Jesus is trying to help us to believe in His resurrection. Every single Scripture reading is allowed by God to land on a certain day in a certain week. There is no such thing as coincidences. God is trying to say something to us, based on the events of our life right now.
God is not a myth, a dream, or a fairytale God is real and he is inside of all of us. He died on the cross for every single peron he created.
God is absolutely amazing in everything that he did, does, and will do. All of the amazing things that we see or experience are created by God in the beginning. We need to take time out of our day to thank God for everything, including your own life!
In these two Gospels the disciples are confused and very lost in their faith and they do not believe and are terrified of this man Jesus but they do not believe it is him so to me this just shows not everyone is perfect even the disciples have their doubts but it is important that we have to stay strong in our faith and trust in God and all will be good.
A life leason I picked up from this is that i should not reject God from my life. After all hehas donefor me I should not turn away or turn him away. I should let God have control over the wheel, and not reject his life he wasperfectly planned for me. I should make God be apart of my daily practices. I should alway make choices as if I was Jesus. I need to make choices that God and Jesus would make.
God loves us, “We just killed Him with our sins and the first thing He says is peace be with you!” Would you forgive a person who killed your father or mother? God calls us to forgive just like He did. We put all of our sins onto Him so that the gates of Heaven will open. So we need to pay the Lord back and offer yourself up to Him either by helping people out or going to Mass. God gave us many ways we can do to give us our love to Him.
The readings shows that God will never abandon us. He appears before them and says “Peace be with you.” They were astounded how they just killed Jesus and and that was the first words Jesus says to him. God’s love is infinate, he will never abandon us. We put him to death, without wanting revenger or anything, Jesus gave us eternal happiness with him up in heaven.
This scripture is telling me the Jesus is a great person. He helped many people but got hate in return. But he still helped people and did lots of stuff for them.
The Scriptures are a cheat code to get to Heaven. We need scripture to get to Heaven. It is God’s way of talking to us. It shows what the Apostle did after Jesus died and what Jesus did on earth. Also today shows how forgiving Jesus is He died for our sins and when He comes back He says “Peace be with you,” we sin everyday and He doesn’t love us less.
Jesus tells us to repent. We can all repent by changing the ways we think. We can do this by not judging others even in our head. Intead we can be thankful for that person we are judging.
this tells me that the sain seeing is beliving is so un true the jews saw and still did not belive. God even seid it was him so i need to belive then i may see Jesus so i need to keep beliving and talking to God
This scripture talks about how you can plagiarize something from someone and not give them credit, but Peter tells the children the he didn’t heal the man God did and he gives God credit for it and this tells me that if you plagiarize give credit to that person that you plagiarize from.
I don’t think plagiarism is the right analogy with today’s Scripture. Nobody is writing anything. Peter is saying God has all of the power. Peter believes and in the name of Christ heals the man. He then gives Christ the credit.
The people were amazed at the apostles. But the apostles didn’t want them to because they knew that God was the one that made the man walk. The apostles wanted the people to realize that the doing was God not them.
In the first reading Peter and John go into the crowd. They see that they are all amazed, and Peter tells them that the God of Moses, Abraham, and the God of Jacob, sent Jesus to them. He says that He was the Holy One, and that they denied Him and chose a murderer to be set free. This reading is telling us that it is important to not deny the Lord. In the second reading Jesus shows up to the Apostles as a spirit, and the Apostles were amazed. Jesus even proved that it was him by showing his hands.
Today in the gospel, Peter addresses the people with “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we made him walk by our own power or piety?”The people act as if Peter made him walk instead of God. Peter tells them that the man could walk because he had faith in God and they too should repent and be converted. I can apply this to my life by having faith in God even when I sin. I need to always strive to be Christ-like and depend on God.
I can apply this scripture to my life by staying strong in my faith and not doubting God because he knows what is best for me.
In today’s gospel, what stood out to me was the quote, “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?” said by Peter. He understands that it is not the apostles that cured the man, but through the power of God the man was cured from being crippled. We need to learn to be humble in what we say and what we do, and we can never forget to thank God. One of the lines on one of my favorite songs is “Thats the ego taking credit for what God made.” We need to let go of our ego, and realize thag God made everything for us
What I got from this scripture is that God will always clean the unclean in side of you. He will make everything make sense and come together. He will make you more holy or bring you back to be holy.
What I got from this Gospel is that God has faith in us. He loves usn not matter what we do. God knows what is right and what is wrong. He also rose from the head and showed us that He is powerful and most High.
This has taught us that God will keep his promise to us by rising on the third day.
I know that God is so amazing with everything he does, he is livng inside everyone. It could be hard understanding for some people, but God is not a myth, he is real.
I can apply this to my life by praying more to God and realizing when He is giving or making signs around me to help better my choices.
I think the gospel is saying that we should believe in Jesus, even when we can’t physically see Him or see the proof of Him. Even through the hardest times, we should believe and trust in His will for us. We should put all of our faith in him and open our hearts for Him to help lead us to Heaven.
Everyone who witnessed John and Peter were amazed, but the aposltes didn’t think they should have because of all the things Jesus did and yet they killed him for that.
People think the apostles did these thing, but like us they can’t do anything without God. The people were looking at them and praised them ,but they said that we cant do anything without God. They were saying that we are nothing but with God we are sumething.
I can see the plans and vision the Angels, Saints, God, and Jesus have from my life. I can see why they love me so much because I can grow up in the Faith and become an intellegente child of God.
I feel like this Gospel passage is telling me to believe in God more and put a little more trust in Him and in His plans for my life. People lose faith in God all the time just like a lot of people didn’t have faith in Jesus. God wants us to trust Him and he hopes that we understand that God knows what He is doing and what God wants us to do with our lives. God is real, He’s not just some character in the Bible. He died for us on a cross and it’s really sad how we just don’t pay attention to Him when He saved us. We need to do a better job at getting to know God, talking, and listening to Him.
This passage is telling me that even after finishing Jesus off, after 3 days they still do not believe. They think that the apostles made him walk but they say that you are just as ignorant just as your leaders. I think we need to think about this and ask ourselves are we ready to go to heaven.
God is forgiving, if you do something to him that is very bad he will forgive you with all of his heart. When Peter was talking to the crowd he was talking to us whatever Peter said was mainly directed to us. Peter performed a miracle that no one was expecting, they were all so amazed so Peter asked them why they were so shocked by it. They said that they have ever seen or beilived in such a big miracle to happen. Everyone thinks that they are so incontroled so they think that whatever one can do they can do. Which will never be the case just because you are the best of the best doesn’t mean you are.
i can apply this to my life by trusting in God and knowing when he is with me
Good Job Santino
Peter in todays reading is spreading the good news. Not so long ago he denied Jesus 3 times. This is evidence that the apposiles did really rescive the Holy Spirit. So too, let us get out of our dark room in our heart and teach His ways.
I think it is trying to tell us to convert others and ourselves to turn to God.
In the beginning when the crippled man was healed, John and Peter asked why there was so many people. It was only through the power of God that man was healed. They talk about how they denied Jesus, like throwing away a piece of trash. Jesus is not trash, He is so much more than that. Our sins are the reason why he was put on that cross in the first place. He fought through the pain, physically and mentally, for the will of God. Just as Mary said yes so did Jesus.
Today, Peter is actually saying something to us. Jesus is dead and from this point on, Jesus will not tell us anything. Imagine your best friend dying because of the actions of another friend. You were so close to both of them, yet they are both gone. This is how the 11 apostles felt. Jesus had just been betrayed by Judas and the apostles must have been heartbroken. Yet they went out and spoke the word of God. Peter shows us today that the Holy Spirit really did something inside of him. He is speaking to a crowd and telling them that they caused Jesus’s death, Yet he still loves them. If i was in this crowd, I wouldn’t have beileved him because thats insane. We just killed this man and he loves us!? But he does. In the second reading he proves this. He says “Peace be with you.” We killed him and he wants to have peace with us. Yes he does. Jesus wants to be with us, and he will do everything to get us with him. And we need to be like Peter. We need to go out and share the word like Peter did. Peter wasn’t scared, so why should we.
The Gospel today tells me how powerful God is and if we would ever get hurt or really sick we should just know that God is so powerful and he can help us get through it. No one is as powerful as God is and you should always know he will be right there with you. God loves us and we should love him too.
God acually brought someone back from the dead. He is so powerful and sometimes we doubt him but he will never leave us. God is the true creator of life and we should look to Him for everything. He is so forgiving and wants us to be with him.
I can apply this to my life by believing and staying true to God no matter what.
i apply this to my life by knowing and realizing that Jesus has died for us and i need to be aware of the people around me and so i can help other.
This reminds me that I need to thank God for everything He’s given us. I sometimes think that everything good that happens is because of me. It’s not, and it never will be my doing, or anyone else’s that gives all the good things in life. It’s all God’s great work. He is so good and generous to us and we take Him and His gifts for granted so often.
What I am getting from this gospel is that if we can be converted and if we convert others, our lives can be so much better and everyone can see the realization of what He has done for us. The realization can forever change peoples lives and it can be such a blessing.
What I got from this today is that when I pray God is wanted me to grow closer to him.
What stuck out to me the most in the Scripture today is how well everything in Salvation History goes together. The Old Testament leads right into the New with all the prophets saying “the Messiah is coming.” And then he does, and literally all the prophecies about the Messiah are fulliled through Jesus. ALL OF THEM. And now we are carrying out that beleif that was here at the beginning of life itself: the beleif that there is hope for human kind, and that God can lead us to salvation, which he already has done.
The part that stood out to me was when Peter asked why everyone was amazed when they cured the man. Jesus had cured people tons of times before this happened and they are still amazed when Peter cures someone through the name of Jesus. It shows how humans can’t see everything at once because they killed the person who could do these things and only once He is dead do they start to realize what they did and repent.
What i got from this scripture is that God is so powerful, yeah i know that already but truly he is more powerful then we think and know he is. Jesus can heal, forgive and loves us no matter wat we think about him. Someone could do the worst possible thing and Jesus would still forgive us.Trusting God is the only way to happiness. We have to realize he died on the cross for us, no one asked or it. He did it for us because he loves us more than we know.At the end of the day if we just pray and talk to him we will become closer and grow a better relationship wiht him everyday.
What Peter said in the Gospel today in my opinion is still in effect today it’s just people don’t realize it.
I think that today’s reading is tellign us to be grateful. Be grateful becuase Jesus died for us. Not only that but when He ressuected He wasn’t mad. Like Jesus, we should all try to forgive those who have wronged us. By doing this we can become one with God and enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
In today’s gospel I like the line “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this?” I feel like Peter is just telling us how AMAZING God is, like he just made a man, who absolutly everyone knew couldn’t walk from birth, they had all seen with their own eyes that he would beg by the temple, walk. Which is somthing impossible, and Peter just says “why are you amazed” he is telling them, there is a God so kind and wonderfull and powerful up there, that this, this is barely ANY of his power. He is saying, THIS is the power of the man you put to death, and He IS STILL giving you the oppertunity to repent and love, becuase He is the Ultimate, and He loves us more than we could ever love another or ourselves
Todays gospel is telling me that sometimes you just have to tell the truth. I bet that the apostles wanted to say that they did most of the work so that they could get loved and adored, but they didnt. They told the truth and nothing but the truth. They told eveyone that Jesus is the one who rose, Jesus is the one who is the son of the Father, Jesus is the one who died on the cross and rose from the dead, and Jesus is the one who saved us from every sin that you can possibly thing of. Thats what we humans need to do. We need to stop being selfish and getting jealous when someone does more things than us or we think that the people we know are better than us, because in Jesus’s eyes no one is better than another person. We are all equal. Today God wants us to love Him, to Praise Him, and to tell everyone that He is the one and only God.
I think that the scripture today is telling us that Jesus has the most power in the world, and we’re thinking the guy who can bench 790lbs is the strongest and if you mess with him you’ll get popped in the head. But really it’s Jesus, and if you mess with him he’ll forgive you. If you don’t believe he’s the strongest human being or God in the excistence of the world, then something in your faith or brain is not right. Go spend more time with Jesus Right Now!.
why do you look so intently at us
as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety? said Peter. Jesus died for us and rose again. Those who still didn’t believe, it is our job to help them believe. It is our Job. Jesus did his part and saved us. Now its our turn. (I had a lengthy description but when I tried to post it, the computer said that I was posting comments to quickly so I would have had to start over.)
This can be aplied to life when you are going through a tough time or just living. Most people never turn to the scripture and they live life trying to make it alone. We can’t make it alone we need God’s help in our everyday lives. We are not strong enough to just sit through the temptation of sin. With the help of the scriptures and God we can fight back and we do have hope. We need God.
This scripture is talking about how we were the people who let Jesus die. We were the selfish ones. I can put this reading in my daily life by not taking things for granted and having trust in others that can help me.
I think the scripture is trying to show me how Jesus suffered and died for us. It says how everybody rejected to Jesus, and even chose a murder, Barabbas, over him. We were the ones who killed him, and yet we are the ones he loves the most. However, we can repent for this and all of the sins we have commited and through this, we are able to get to Heaven.
I can definitely see a change in myself. After I lost my mind in my little Covid time, I think I gained it back over Easter Break, just spending like 7 hours in the Church (don’t ask). Jesus still wants me, even if I lose my mind.
This teaches me that even when I feel like my faith isnt strong I can look to God and the bible. And even when I do feel like this there is always something that can help with it. When I feel ike God isnt the strongest thing in the world I have to remember that he is because he was the one hwo gave me the life I have know.
Of all of the reading that we have had the past few weeks, this one has spoke to me the most. I really liked the second reading that was on the blog because I feel like it applies to our lives. Thomas doubting Jesus is very similar to how we trust God with our life. We should, unlike Thomas, beleive in God without needing any visual proof. Even though that is what we are supposed to do God knows that it is really hard for us to do so that is why God gives us Relics like the Shroud of Turin or his face cloth. If we were to take anything from this it would be that our faith should be in God and not in worldy things that we can see.
