Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So Jesus addressed this parable to them.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.
“Or what woman having ten coins and losing one
would not light a lamp and sweep the house,
searching carefully until she finds it?
And when she does find it,
she calls together her friends and neighbors
and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’
In just the same way, I tell you,
there will be rejoicing among the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.” LK 15:1-10
Today, Jesus teaches us that God is not very economical (Bishop Barron). His grace can’t be earned, its a gift and He can use it how He wants. How does a sinner receive this grace? Allowing Jesus into your boat, recognizing our sinfulness, humbly approaching the One who is love, mercy, and justice. As Bishop Barron says, “The Gospel is about detachment”. We are called to repent and change our lives by looking at life in a completely different way. We are called to be holy. Do we desire holiness? When we take steps to avoid the near occasion of sin by coming to God’s mercy and choosing His Will with our effort until the sin is no longer a part of our life. This may also require medicine, doctors, and counselors with God’s grace in confession. The opposite is the one who thinks they never sin or tries to rationalize their sin and does not reconcile themselves with God. One who does not desire holiness or is blinded by their pride/ego. I believe each human struggles with a little bit of both.
Catholic Culture.org defines repentance as “Voluntary sorrow because it offends God, for having done something wrong, together with the resolve to amend one’s conduct by taking the necessary means to avoid the occasions of sin. To repent is to be sorry for sin with self-condemnation.” In the act of contrition, we pray to “avoid the near occasion of sin”. Often times we forget this once we get back into the routine of life. Habits are important to pay attention to. We may need to change a routine we are in, a place we go, people we hang out with, or today an electronic device we use too much.
God gave us life as a gift out of love, our identity is in Him. When we celebrate all saint’s day and all soul’s day, we learn that we are made to see God face to face at the end of our journey through the death and resurrection of Christ in baptism. We have a high calling. We must learn to “avoid the near occasion of sin” by forming ourselves in knowledge of God and daily habits that lead us to God and His grace not away from Him. We are called to rise above with God’s grace and cooperating with His Will. Our souls, our being, is a precious gift from God and He wills for us to come back to Him. He calls us to make our will His Will to return His love. Pope Francis says, “God never tires of giving mercy, we tire of asking for it.” Repent, you have an entire heaven full of angels and saints waiting to rejoice!
Most importantly, God’s one desire is your friendship. He sent His only Son to die for it. God wants a relationship with you. Our sin is a failure in relationships. We are made for relationships. Our sin stems from a failure in our relationship with God, our own flesh, or another person. When we sin we fail in one of these relationships. Think about who you are hurting next time you are about sin. We all need to learn and practice forgiveness because we will certainly fail in our relationships. They are difficult. With God’s grace and love transforming us, we too can share this love to build healthy relationships with others.
Today’s challenge: Repent. Baby steps start one day at a time and come to God’s grace in the Eucharist and confession daily if needed. The saints often came to these two sacraments daily. Clothe yourself with Christ.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
We are not only called to Love God, but to Worship Him. It is important to worship Him because He is the One Who gave us life from the very beginning!
It means when you have found your purpose it is easier to become a follower of Christ more intently, He wants you to know him so when you find what you were made for He will give you more graces. He knows that you aren’t trying to leave Him when you make brutal mistakes, He knows that that is sin and power of the devil.
This is showing us that everyone in heaven rejoices over the one who changes rather than the one who was righteous from the start.
I think repentance means even after time and time again you sin you come back to God and are truly sorry. God does not think it matters what you did as long as you are sorry and you try to become closer to God
Jesus is telling us that no matter what we do he cares for us the same as if we were perfect. Every time we sin, we break our bond with Jesus. That is why God gave us Confession. He loves us and gives us so many opportunities to save us and our relationship with him. In the Our Father it says to “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us” We need to forgive like we wish to be forgiven.
Repentance to me means knowing what your doing or did was wrong. As we get older we should know the difference between the bad and good stuff we do. But its different when you don’t really think and then do something bad without knowing then to do something bad knowing that it is bad depending on how bad the thing was.
This is a pretty great parable. Jesus shows us that in heaven, there is much rejoicing over even just one sinner who repents. Repenting is an act of free will in which you are sorry for your sins, and try to do better by avoiding sin.
To repent means to know your sin and you should beg for forgiveness for them. It means that you should feel guilty of the sin that you committed. I think every one has to repent once in their lives, everyone has sins. To repent is something different than knowing your sin, you are guilty and you want to become better. God wants us to repent so we can go to confession and be saved, having the ability to repent is important.
Repentance is asking forgiveness for your sins when you know you did something wrong. We go to repent in confession where we tell the priest our sins and ask forgiveness. God will always forgive us and He will never turn His back on us. Repentance is humility, you recognize that you aren’t perfect and humans will follow the broken human nature and sin. But we can turn to God and ask for forgiveness and He will.
Repentance is being away from God and coming back. Pretty much exactly like the Parable of the Prodigal Son. You fall away from God and come back. And that deserves more celebration than a righteous person going to heaven because everyone KNEW that person was going to heaven. With repentance, you knew that the person was not going to get to heaven, but they turned their life around and did. That deserves celebration.
I think repentance is a really important key to getting to Heaven. We need to know what we do wrong to fix it, just like anything else in the world today, but with Jesus, we need to see that we aren’t giving up our lives for him, or we’re worshiping false idols above him. We need to show that we care, and show that Jesus is the only idol, or person we should be worshiping. We need to put Jesus above everything else.
Repent means to feel sincere regret for your sins and to do something to make them up. It’s important to go to confession because it’s God giving you a second chance. When we repent God sees that we truly love him and feel sorry for hurting him.
Jesus welcomed sinners and ate with them. He says there will be more joy in heaven over one who repents than 99 righteous people who have no need for repentance. This tells us we need to convert more people to be Christians, and care for people that we would not normally care for.
i feel this applies to real life because sometimes we get spoiled and we dont see that the one person we are missing is God
The Gospel is telling me today that everyone needs to be found. Even the holiest of people, and the most unholy of all people.
Jesus says “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.'” He is kind of saying that when someone leaves the Catholic faith and comes back, Jesus is going to have a “party” for them coming back in the faith.
I think that today’s reading is a great reading but that it isn’t directed to us necessarily. I think that it is for the people who do not know the way the truth and the light of God. Almost all of us have grown up as Catholics in Catholic families and it is all that we know, but there are many people that have never even heard of God or know of Him but do not actually know Him. Those of us that have heard this reading many times may have began to have thought that it is losing it’s meaning or just a children’s story, but no, it is still a great story for all people. It tells us that Jesus will do anything for us to repent from our fallen ways. As we get older our sins get bigger but that doesn’t mean that it becomes harder for God to forgive us. It just means it is harder for ourselves to repent to God. So just know that God always forgives you so you need to always accept God’s forgiveness.
Jesus welcomes sinner and eats with them. But…. which of the two do you think are more holy in the end. The sinners who repent and pray humbly or the righteous who go and boast about it. They go around bragging about their wealth and holiness. The sinners go back to a relationship with God, ready for repentance and God’s mercy. We are the sinners. Every time one of us falls away, he leaves the other 99 to find us and bring us back. He wants out friendship, but we need to let him give His mercy. That’s all. Repent, and you will find love in Him.
Is it not easier to get to Heaven if we begin righteously, than it is for someone with so many sins? Don’t they have a greater love for God if they go through the huge obstacles in life successfully the hundredth try than to go through the easy ones on the first? Are we not called to love one another, not just God? Maybe the reason why we have these difficulties is to prepare us for the life to God. Maybe the reason God put us in this life, is so we could be ready for His Second Coming.
‘Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.’ -John the Baptist
Jesus is telling us that if we keep praying and staying in our faith that we will stop doing the habit of something bad or get better at stopping that habit.
It’s saying that God would always come to find us and even if we don’t want to love God he would always love us and find us.
This is saying that God will help if you need the help he offers.
No matter what we do, if we repent and we are truly sorry, we will be forgiven and loved just the same.
This reading tells us that we are all sinners. God loves us and will always forgive us if we turn to Him. Even if you do not love God He will always love you.
There are billions on people in the word. Knowing that, sometimes we may assume that we’re not special, not cared for. However, we should know that God loves us. If we stray away, He won’t just let us go. He’ll search and guide us, trying to bring us back to Him, because that’s how much He cares for us.
This reading tells us that we are all sinners. God loves us and will always forgive us if we turn to Him. Even if you do not love God He will always love you.
Everyone is special in God’s eye. He would do anything just to get a lost soul into heaven. God would search everywhere for that lost sheep. We should no this and never forget our value. Jesus will always pull you closer to Him so that we will be united with Him. Once we fully repent and make it to heaven God will have a great banquette for us.
What really stuck out to me was when Jesus said that one sinner that repents will be celebrated more than ninety-nine righteous people in heaven. This shows that God loves everyone no matter what.
today’s Gospel is bout how Jesus love every one of his creations equally and no mater what we do he will not love us any less. He loves even the worst of sinners and calls them to join him in heaven with his father
We are sinners and we should nit be receiving grace, but Jesus still gives us it. Jesus forgives us when we do something really bad. He takes all our sins away and caries them on the cross. We should desire and want holiness because that’s how we get closer to God. If we become more holy everyday it won’t just help us it will help other people too. It will help us have a better relationship with Jesus and our friends and family.
When you repent you come back to Jesus and ask for mercy. The Lord will always forgive you. No matter what you do He will always forgive you. If you leave He will come find you and bring you home. When you repent you come back to the faith.
Today God is telling us to repent. Just going to church and praying is worth nothing is you just go and sin after. You have to prove that you are sorry for your sins. That is why we have a pence after confession. To show God that we can do better.
When someone repents it means that they feel bad about their sins and they regret it. It is also asking God for forgivness.
This parable tells us that when we repent to Jesus Christ he will rejoice over us. In the parable it says that the tax collectors and sinners drew near, and that the pharisees and scribes were questioning Jesus and mocking him for what he was saying. That shows me that there is always redemption for everyone. The lost sheep, the women’s coin, are all of those are the sinner that Jesus will find
The scripture tells us that just because we are sinners doesn’t mean that Jesus won’t go after us if we loose our way to God. Jesus will always go after us because he loves us more than we could even imagine.
In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” God says that there will be more rejoicing in heaven over 1 sinner who repents than 99 righteous people. He wants us to come to him and to repent, to believe in him, so that we my see him in heaven.
I think this passage is saying that God will always be happy for you. He may not like some of the choices you do but still loves you for who you are and what he made.
what this is telling me is that sometimes you get lost on the way to heaven and have to found again once you are found again it is a celabration for God because you have returned to Him.
i can apply god in my life through my love for him. people will see my love for him and they will want to be like God and then it will spread.
Like the woman that had lost her coin, Jesus will stop everything just to bring us back to the Faith. Our party will be waiting when hopefully we get to Heaven. Jesus could have not died for us He could have denied everything. He loves us so much that He went through with it, He chose that day that He was going to chose love. In life we nay not always chose others over our self but we should try to at least.
We need to love everyone not base it on peoples beliefs and doings. Even if we disagree God still calls us to love one another. Then why don’t we? Why do we base things off of others beliefs and doings? “love one another as i have loved you.” God still loves us even though we are sinners. We need to love one another.
Jesus welcomes sinners and eats with them. In our life when someone sins and we get hurt we have to learn to welcome them back and to not hold a grudge. In our life this is really hard to do. When we sin, Jesus always welcomes us back after confession and treats us like we never sinned. We think holding a grudge will make us happier and make the other person feel worse, but that is the opposite, when we welcome them back we both feel better, instead of just one person feeling good.
Jesus is telling us that we are all special and that He loves us all. Even if we sin, He still loves us. Jesus is so happy when we repent and come back to Him. Jesus loves each of us no matter what.
I think the Gospel is telling us that we rejoice over the small things but then we want to judge when someone does a small thing like earing with tax collectors
We are all sinners but that doesn’t mean that Jesus doesn’t love us. He brings us home when we are lost, just like the shepherd brought his lost sheep home after it was lost, and we are forgiven of our sins.
This scripture tells us that if we sin, Jesus will find us. You have to believe that he will save you. I am not saying that we should just sin, but I am saying if we do sin, we shall trust in Him.
We would pick on someone to make ourselves feel better because maybe you are getting picked on at home or something like that .
I think today’s reading is trying to tell us that even if we sin, God will still love us. God knows that everyone sins and makes mistakes, but he still wants to have a relationship with us. God will always forgive you for your mistakes, as long as we are willing to accept his forgiveness.
Repent. “feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing or sin.” -Dictionary. God will forgive us if we want forgiveness. If you do not want his forgiveness, you do not want his love. Even though he is forgiving, we can’t keep sinning and expecting Him to immediately forgive us. Even that is a sin. Our sins are like a sword going through Jesus’ heart. If we carelessly sin, it’s like that sword is even bigger.
Jesus rejoices over a repentance of ONE SINNER. How much more would He rejoice if it were ALL OF US? All of us together confess ourselves to the Lord. Owning up to our faults, owning up to the times we’ve lied, put someone down, disobeyed, ignored a younger sibling or friend, etc. There are so many sins we each need to repent for. Jesus is waiting for each of us to repent for our sin. Waiting. Why make Him wait any longer?
I commpletely agree, Natalie!
The question for today: Are you sinners? We all sin but God forgives us and God loves more than anything. He created one person and I know there is a lot of us but He doesn’t see color and He doesn’t your athleticism. He knows if you have a musical talent and He know a lot of things. We have to love one another even if we aren’t family or you don’t get along because God loves everyone and loving someone else is loving God. God is always there to listen to your prayers all day and every day.
I think that this bible verse is telling me that God will forgive you. God has let sinners into heaven. We are going to sin but just because we sin dose not mean that we won’t go to heaven. Jesus will forgive you, that dose not mean we can still just go around sinning and being mean to people we still have to go to confession and to mass, but just know that if you make a sin dont worry because God will forgive you.
Jesus is the connection. His grace cleanses us from sin. We are called to face our brokenness and give it to Him. We should worry or be concerned if we sin, we need to reflect on why we sinned and show remorse for hurting God and others. God wants us to use time to grow and learn from our mistakes, then teach others to do the same.
This gospel reading is saying that we are all the same in one thing. We are all sinners. Why do we judge one another when we are all sinners? It doesn’t matter if you are better at a sport, reading, or writing. We will always be sinners. But Jesus forgives us of our sins. But the real question I have is why do we judge another when we are all brothers and sisters? We all are sinners so when you judge someone else you are just judging yourself. We are supposed to love one another, not to judge and hate. We are supposed to bring one another up, not down. Jesus gave us his love so we can spread it to one another. In this crazy world we have to learn to bring each other together. Because if we don’t it’s going to be so chaotic.
In my opinion repent means to reflect and respond to what God’s talking to us about. i like to repent and reflect what God is saying in my room in the darkness. I also like when it’s quiet because it helps me focus more and really reflect on what He’s trying to say to me.
I think repentance means that we need to choose god over other things in our daily lives, and when we choose wrong, having the strength to go back to him and ask for forgiveness, I struggle with this every day, I think that when I do something wrong, that God could never look at me the same way, with love and healing. But every time I go back to him he forgives, I repent, and we can work together on not sinning again.
We should repent on everything God has given us and be grateful for what we have. We should read our Bible and pray the rosary every day.
Repentance is coming back to our forgiving God after we sin. I sin all the time and only come back to the Lord when in confession or at Church, rarely I will start praying asking for repentance right after I sin which is something us as Christians should all do. Jesus died for us and our sins and made repentance for our sins for a purpose which is coming back to his loving open arms.
The part that stood out to me the most was when it says, “there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.”. If you are sorry for what you did and you ask God to forgive you that is better than doing everything perfect. If you repent for doing something wrong that is improvement that shows you want to move away from sin, but if you have no need of repentance than you aren’t showing growth in that way. Showing growth and improvement is something to celebrate and everyone in heaven will celebrate more for doing that than just staying the same and perfect all the time.
Today’s Gospel says that you will be forgiven no matter what and God will let both saints and sinners into Heaven. Getting into heaven is not free. You have to repent. To repent is to confess your sins and be truly sorry for what offences you have committed.
Repenting means to turn away from your past. To change from your past sinful self. If you repent you will please God very much. God is so happy when a sinner repents and turns to him. We are Catholic but that does not mean there is no need for repenting. You can repent from a social media app, or from gossiping. If you do that not only God will have joy but you will have more complete joy through God.
Today’s gospel Jesus is confronting a Pharisee. How many times have we questioned Jesus like this Pharisee. questioned why Jesus does what he does, why he choses to eat with the tax collectors and sinners. Jesus tells this man why in the parable of the lost sheep. This is where we get the metaphore of Jesus being our shephard. Jesus will go out and find us, even if that means that he will leave the 99 rightous men, the 99 holy men, the 99 future saints. He will leave the 99 people who deserve to be with him, and find us, the 1 sinner, the 1 bad man, the 1 murderer, the 1 theif, and he will take us home.
When you have 10 coins and you lose one do you not go and try to find it? Do you put down the other nine coins to find the last one. You are the one coin. God is trying to find you and help you. When he finds you, he rejoices with great joy. When your repent all of heaven rejoices but the when the righteous man repent all of heaven does not rejoice as much as when the sinner repents.
This gospel is telling us that we all sin no matter how hard we try. We sin because it is a habit that is almost impossible to break. We might sin so we can be popular or hang out with “cool” people or stuff like that but in the end it is never worth sinning. When we sin we weaken out connection with God. God tells us to “repent” but most of us just ignore that and we go on with our day. So I want to challenge myself to repeat so I can be closer to God.
Repentance is to know what or how you did wrong. We repent before God so that we could go to heaven, like confessing our sins. God wants us to enter into His Kingdom. Let him lead you the way.
I think the gospel is saying that we should God first and with all our hearts. Even when we mess up the Lord is there and forgives us every time. Even those that don’t know him or love him, he still loves them and forgives them.
What Jesus is trying to tell us is that we are all sinners but He will still love us. And we can remove that sin by going to confession, making us His lost sheep that He has found. Every time we sin, we are like sheep that run away from their shepherd. When we go to confession, we are found by our shepherd. Jesus has found us.
What this scripture reflection says to me is that we need to be ready to accept Jesus. He loves us all very much, and wants all of us all in heaven.
Repentance means to me that we should all stop sinning and act more like God. God does everything for us and the last thing we should do is sin. God knows we make mistakes but when we do sin we should try to do something to make it up. We can all work on being better and walking in God’s footsteps.
Jesus welcomed sinners and the people started to complain. He said, “there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” Heaven will rejoice over one sinner who repents. That means be can’t bargain our way into heaven. We will use our free will wisely to have the git of grace to reach heaven. That means us sinners will we welcomed in heaven if we repent.
Today Jesus tells us about a story with a man and a lost sheep. He tells how rejoiced the man was that he found his sheep. We know that Jesus means this to be us. Whenever we fall away, Jesus will always be there for us when we come back. The hard part is realizing our mistake and fixing it. The same with our sins. We may commit a bad sin, or even a small sin continuously, but the hard part is fixing it and going back to God. I think that this story is very important to understand, so we don’t get caught up in social media, which can make us feel very lonesome and like we can’t be helped. I can apply this to my life by remembering this and striving for a better prayer life.
I think this Gospel is telling me that Jesus chooses you because he loves you and he has enough time in his life to care for everyone and help them get into heaven, however we don’t always listen we keep on feeding on these bad habits and Satan will take us over.
This reflection reminds me that we need to stay on the path to heaven and not get lost and forget about others and especially Jesus.
Todays Scripture is about Jesus loving us and taking care of us because when we are lost he comes to find us. So we can rejoice in heaven with him.
It means when you have found your purpose it is easier to become a follower of Christ more intently, He wants you to know him so when you find what you were made for He will give you more graces. He knows that you aren’t trying to leave Him when you make brutal mistakes, He knows that that is sin and power of the devil.
Jesus is trying to tell us to have faith that He will find us, and that He’d do anything for us. We have to trust in Him and repent for our sins.
Jesus is telling us that no matter how much we sin He will always love us. Yes we all sin, but that is why He made an amazing thing called Confession, so that we may be able to repent all of our sins. He wants us to get to Heaven and we can not do that unless we repent and offer ourselves to Him. So we should all do that.
In this Reading Jesus is saying that even we are lost on the path of sin Jesus will always find us no matter what. We are all lost into sin, but we can find our way back to Him. No matter how great the sin is there is always going to be a chance for you to confess your sin.
To me this means that even God himself sat down with the people that disobeyed him and hurt him. He would sit there with these people like they haven’t just sinned against him and hurt him. I believe that we should be like Christ and should start eating and forgiving the people that have hurt us or have done something mean to us.
This gospel reminds me that everyone is so quick to judge, but I shouldn’t be worried about their judgement if I’m doing the right thing. I feel like I worry more about what everyone else thinks of me than I do of what God will think of me when on Judgement Day. I need reminders like this one often, so I can keep my mind on what I’m living for, and what my whole life is about- getting to Heaven.
Jesus loves us even though we are sinners he loves us no matter what. With the sacrament of Reconciliation when we tell Jesus our sins and he forgives us. This means we will be welcomed in heaven if we repent. Repent means to be more Christ-like and clean of sin.
Repentance is falling away from the church and God and coming back for his forgiveness. When you repent it shows God exactly why he should leave the 99 and get the 1. That 1 is you.
I believe that this scripture passage is saying that if we repent we can have eternal life with God in Heaven.
What I think the Gospel means today is that no matter how someone looks or acts you should always be nice to them and help them out because one day they might return the favor or God will. Even if you don’t get something in return then you should at least feel good that you did something good. I can apply this to my life by not judging people on how they look or how they act it should be about how they care and want attention.
Today Jesus tells us two parables about finding things. I think that they story is trying to tell us how happy God will be when we find Him, aka when we repent. Jesus explains that there is no greater joy then when someone who has fallen away from the Church comes back to Him and repents. That is why he came here, He didn’t save us just to eat with the people who were already holy, He came to bring the sinners back to the Church.
In this Gospel we are like the sheep. Because whenever we get lost Jesus will always find us no matter what. It also said that Heaven would rejoice more over one sinner who repents than ninety nine righteous men because it takes a lot to give yourself to Jesus especially with all of our peers telling us that it is not cool to love or follow Jesus.
Today Jesus is telling us that it is worth more for the whole world to repent than for billions of righteous people to enter Heaven. Not that he means it that way but I included the whole world because we are all sinners. He welcomes all of us with open arms but we sit there and judge the people who accept him. This is a common sin for us all including priests and other religious people. We judge everyday and usually the outcasts are the ones who have already accepted God and been rejected by our society.
I believe that this scripture passage is saying that if we repent we can have eternal life with God in Heaven..
In the Scripture passage I learned that we are all sinners in many different ways. When we sin, we start to turn away from God, but he will forgive us and try to lead us back to him. Sin is apart of life and we all sin even when we may not realize we are sometimes. We need to catch ourselves before we speak so that what we say doesn’t become a sin. Sinning is not good, we need to control ourselves so that sinning doesn’t become an everyday thing.
What I see adoration as is a time for me to pray lost souls out of purgatory and let them celebrate with others in heaven. For once he was lost and now is found
I think that this Gospel is telling us that when we lose something important to us, we will not stop searching until we find it. In just the same way, Jesus will not stop trying to turn us to him. If He is willing to drop everything and look for us, why not we look for Him? We should be the ones looking for him, and the right path. Is He not the one who should be waiting for us, like the lost sheep?
the pepol last the cone and the sheep
this gospel is talking about finding the one lost sheep and bringing it back to the 99 that he left to go and find the one. So it is showing that the one matters more than the 99, I think that this is resembling popularity in todays life and how you should care for other people and not just you.
I think the scripture passage means that we all are deserving. No matter big or small he will drop everything in order to find us and bring us back. I think it is also saying that we should repent with the help of others.
I think the gospel is telling us that God will forgive us no matter what. But we need to put in the effort to go to confession and go to mass. And don’t think that you will not ever sin again because we are all natural sinners. But we can try and not sin then go to confession and forgive them. We need to recognize whenever we sin or we need to pray ever night and tell God that you cant make it to confession and hopefully you can go the next day.
Jesus is more happy for us repenting for our sins than not repenting because they do not have that many sins and they do not need of repentance.
“Rejoice” What I think Jesus is trying to say here is that he wants us to rejoice. In this world we live in to many people are always complaining or whining about something. It is not what God created us to do. I think he is telling us to rejoice because we are alive and living in His name.
Jesus is trying to teach us that we need to rejoice God for he has found us. We are the lost coin he is rejoicing for that we are found. My final point us that we are children of God and he wants us to be found.
This one is pretty obscure in a way that there are a lot of things you could losely connect to this without it completely matching up. One thing that I think fits very well with the parables Jesus tells us is that that one coin or one sheep is Heaven. Even beyond all those things, you must try and find Heaven
That if you are very repent full and sorry for what you have done then you will be known in the kingdom of heaven for changing your ways that is why we need to repent.
We are all human and we are all sinner. We should never earn grace for what we have done to Jesus. But, Jesus is forgiving and always gives us it. Jesus will always forgive us even when we do something really bad. We don’t deserve him from what we do to him. But, everyday he takes all our sins and carries them with him on the heavy cross. We should all desire and feel the need to want holiness because that’s how we get close to Jesus. If we become more like Jesus everyday it won’t just help us, it will help the other people around us too. It will help us have a better and stronger relationship with Jesus and our friends and family.
I think the first one means that Jesus will bring us all together in heaven and he loves every one even the sinners. The second one is a lot like the first one where he will search every where to bring back a sinner. And when he finds it they will rejoice.
What I think that this reading is telling us is that we are all sinners, it just happens. We are all tempted by the devil. But we have to remember that we should not follow what the devil is wanting us to do. We have to follow God. He will lead us in the right path. He wants us to choose good so we can join him in Heaven. So we should follow God so we can make it to Heaven.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us to grow friendship. Because saying nice things and doing nice things your not just doing that for that person but for God. Because God lives inside all of us. And not to sin with others but to help others not sin. Because we should love everyone around us like God.
I think Jesus in this passage trying to tell us that everyone is worthy and all human life matters. Just how if you found a coin or something that you have been looking for and found it, you would tell everyone in your house. Just as Jesus said that when a sinner repents all of heaven sings in praise, as we do for valuable items. Lot’s of people rejoice when they find things they lost, but why is it not that big of a deal when we hear it? Sadly in the modern day world most people don’t go somewhere to share the good news, but they sit and are lazy. It is crazy though that God still gives us grace even when we are sinners, even when we are sinners.
I think repentance means coming back to Jesus when we sin again and again.Everything always comes back to Jesus. We repent after we sin.We should be truly sorry for our sins when we confess them to Jesus. We shouldn’t be sorry for our sins just because we know Jesus will forgive them.
I got from this that we shouldn’t ever throw God off to the side like He is some type of material object. God is REAL, He’s not a piece of junk. God wants to form a close relationship with us, and we need to do whatever it takes just so that we can get closer to Him. If we are capable of getting close to Him it means that we are succeeding in getting closer to Heaven.
What Jesus is telling me today is that if we keep on losing him its like losing something if we keep on losing whatever it is eventually we’re not going to try to find it any more. Its like sin if we keep on doing it we’re going to not try to find Jesus any more.
Jesus Christ will always forgive you. No matter what. He loves you so much and will care for you until the end of time.
We repent when we ask for forgiveness from God. We never will realize what great things Jesus has done for us. We take too many things for granted we forget what really matters, God and repenting.
