Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So Jesus addressed this parable to them.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.
“Or what woman having ten coins and losing one
would not light a lamp and sweep the house,
searching carefully until she finds it?
And when she does find it,
she calls together her friends and neighbors
and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’
In just the same way, I tell you,
there will be rejoicing among the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.” LK 15:1-10
Today, Jesus teaches us that God is not very economical (Bishop Barron). Who in their right mind would leave 99 to gain 1? God’s grace can’t be earned, its a gift and He can use it how He wants. How does a sinner receive this grace? Allowing Jesus into your boat, recognizing our sinfulness, humbly approaching the One who is love, mercy, and justice. As Bishop Barron says, “The Gospel is about detachment”. We are called to repent and change our lives by looking at life in a completely different way. We are called to be holy.
Do we desire holiness? When we take steps to avoid the near occasion of sin by coming to God’s mercy and choosing His Will with our effort until the sin is no longer a part of our life. This may also require medicine, doctors, and counselors with God’s grace in confession. The opposite is the one who thinks they never sin or tries to rationalize their sin and does not reconcile themselves with God. One who does not desire holiness or is blinded by their pride/ego. I believe each human struggles with a little bit of both.
In the act of contrition, we pray to “avoid the near occasion of sin”. Often times we forget this once we get back into the routine of life. Habits are important to pay attention to. We may need to change a routine we are in, a place we go, people we hang out with, or today an electronic device we use too much (what is the purpose of the device?).
God gave us life as a gift out of love, our identity is in Him. Jeremy Driscoll says, “I am loved, therefore I am.” We are created out of love. We do not exist and our lives have no meaning without this love. Our Father destined us before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blemish before Him, redeemed by His Son’s holy blood in a covenant that required sacrifice, and sealed us in His Holy Spirit (Eph 1:1-14) This is our identity and we stop living it, when we sin.
When we celebrate all saint’s day and all soul’s day, we learn that we are made to see God face to face at the end of our journey through the death and resurrection of Christ in baptism. We have a high calling. We must learn to “avoid the near occasion of sin” by forming ourselves in knowledge of God and daily habits that lead us to God and His grace not away from Him. We are called to rise above with God’s grace and cooperating with His Will. Our souls, our being, is a precious gift from God and He wills for us to come back to Him. He calls us to make our will His Will to return His love. Pope Francis says, “God never tires of giving mercy, we tire of asking for it.” Repent, you have an entire heaven full of angels and saints waiting to rejoice!
Most importantly, God’s one desire is your friendship. He sent His only Son to die for it. God wants a relationship with you. Our sin is a failure in relationships. We are made for relationships. Our sin stems from a failure in our relationship with God, our own flesh, or another person. When we sin we fail in one of these relationships. Think about who you are hurting next time you are about sin. We all need to learn and practice forgiveness because we will certainly fail in our relationships. They are difficult. With God’s grace and love transforming us, we too can share this love to build healthy relationships with others.
Key tip: If you want to avoid the near occasion of sin, fill yourself with God’s life (sacraments). We can receive the Eucharist daily and go to confession as often as needed. Pray with the Scriptures developing a personal relationship with God. Sit in silence. Ask Mary to lead you to her Son, pray the rosary meditating on the mysteries of Jesus and Mary’s lives. Adore God in Adoration. Read a spiritual book each day. We can’t earn heaven, it is a gift. We are transformed by God’s grace, so bring yourself to His grace all throughout the day, then you will find yourself yearning for God and time to spend with Him. You will find yourself avoiding the near occasion of sin because you no longer want to hurt your best friend!
Today’s challenge: Repent. Baby steps start one day at a time and come to God’s grace in the Eucharist and confession daily if needed. The saints often came to these two sacraments daily. Clothe yourself with Christ.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
We should make time in our day for God and go to confession regularly. This is how we can become saints and not sin and receive the Eucharist.
Hi! Hope you have a good day
Great to hear from you! I hope all is well!
Mr. G
What reached out to me was. “there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” What this means to me is that God will always love and forgive us. It’s never too late to turn to Him and He will always be there for us.
This scripture is trying to tell us that it is never too late to turn to God. God loves us very much and his arms always open wide we need to look for God cause we are the lost sheep we need to repent and love God.
In today’s reading In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” this line stuck out to me because its honestly a very thought threw way to end this reading. Life is challenging and this reading tells us that there really is no need to be all stressed about the one mistake we make but the choice to repent and be saved rather than just giving up.
that jesus is all was witnth as and he was temt w\bye the deval and tha not ben tem tid
Today’s scripture passage is about the lost sheep. The man loses 1 out of 100, and yet, he still goes looking for the lost sheep. This is the same for us as well. When Jesus loses one of us to sin, he will be searching for them until they believe again. When he finds them, he will rejoice, even though the 99 had always believed.
Jesus loves us so much that even for one of us he would search the ends of the Earth for us. He wants us to love him and all we have to do is let him find us. We hide in sin and shame, but, in order for God to heal us, he needs us to come to Him. No matter what we do, we always have a place in his heart. He will always forgive us, we just need to let Him.
It is in our human nature to sin. Sin is in our everyday lives, we just never notice it. Sin is in the music we listen to, it’s in the shows we watch, the things we view online. Sin is in everything. This is why it’s so hard for us humans to avoid sin. Sin has always been a part of our culture. What we can do, as both sinners and humans, is form a connection with God. Let him into our hearts. Learn to live a holy life. Temptation is a struggle and living a holy life is just as big a struggle but that doesn’t mean we can’t overcome the struggles. The more we talk to God and fall in love with him, the easier it will get to not fall into temptation.
God is crazy in love with us. He would leave everyone just to gain you after you went behind His back to do what you want. Isn’t that crazy, i think it is but that just shows how much we mean to Him and how much He loves us. It’s crazy to think that I get distracted with so many things when He is there waiting for me and is way better than anything here on Earth. We take Him for granted and when you think about it, it’s a terrible thing.
Jesus leaves the 99 sheep for the 1 missing. Jesus wants us in heaven with Him. We are all special to Him and He will go out of His way for us so we make it to heaven. He loves us and is willing to do anything for us. He even died on a cross for our sins. He wants us and will never leave us.
The part that stuck out to me was “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”. It stuck out to me because they are sinners too. We are all sinners so we should not look down on people who show they sin. We should welcome everybody for we are all sinners. And when Jesus sits them with us we should not look down upon them, but welcome them.
There are many things in our life that can distract us from God. It can be as simple as our phone or as big as addiction. We need to learn to overcome this temptation and struggles and lay them at God’s feet so that we can be holy.
In Jesus’ parable, the shepard leaves his ninety-nine sheep to go search for that single lost sheep, and then calling his family and friends, rejoices once he finds that sheep, but who in their right mind would do that? Who would leave ninety-nine sheep that never left and go search for the lost sheep? But the sheep represent us, how even though there are ninety-nine people who are righteous and holy already, God will go after the sinner and rejoice when they repent because there was no need to help the ninety-nine people become holy, because they already are, because it was the sinner that needed saving from sin.
Today ´ s scripture passage is very important and key for everything. The main message I got from this is that we are all sinners. Not a single one of us is perfect and without blemish. God is going to forgive us but we also have to try to fight that sin away again and again. We also cannot judge anyone because we are sinful too. If we sin again and again, keep going to confession and be truly sorry. God will forgive and grace is essential.
Jesus is telling us two of the parables we should go and save the one that is lost and leave the 99 behind because the lost one needs our help. Today Jesus is saying that he would save us if we ever get lost or need his help.
A lot of people think no one loves me or I’m not good enough to be loved but this Gospel is showing Jesus loves everyone. He is willing to leave the flock just to find us. I think this Gospel is showing us we are loved no matter what.
A phrase that stuck out to me is, this man welcomes sinners and eats with them. I like this phrase because it talks that we need to help the homeless one of the corporal works of mercy. This phrase really is powerful because now when we see a homeless people we just look over them but we need to recognize them give them food give them money for food. My dad has always done this and I would want to do the same thing for many years to come. Even now I do it because that makes me feel good about myself and it help me know that I have helped one of God’s children .
I liked today’s scripture. And something that grabbed my attention that was in today’s challenge it said “clothe yourself with Christ”. I really like that saying.
what struck me was that it said god was not very economical. I think about this because they say that god is everything and why would he leave them just to find one? but it makes sense. how many of you have candy left over from Halloween? if you lost a piece would you go and find it? in this way god looks for us so that we may repent.
who would leave 99 sheep to gain 1? but would you leave 99 children to find the missing child? if someone repents you shoud rejoice, because is there are many righous people they won´t need to repent. but the one sinner when he repents you shoud rejoice. God will search and help the sinners because he wants them to come to his kingdom.
I think the scripture is telling us that even if we turn away from God, it’s not too late to be a follower of God. He will always forgive us even if we turn away from God. If we take time to say a prayer and go to confession will slowly grow closer to God over time.
What stuck out to me is when he said their will be more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents then 99 righteous people the reason this stood out to me is because its saying we can completely turn our life around after being one of the worst people on earth and if we change our ways and try to change our future into being a better person to him and other and love him completely then we could go to heaven and they will rejoice.
He is telling me to go and look for him out of everything that there is look for him.
The scripture tells us that God will leave everyone to find you and that he does not forget you ever. When you feel alone, you’re not alone. When you don’t feel loved, you are loved. God will always be with us no matter what. Nothing can seperate us from him.
Its never to late or to early turn to God hes already there waiting for us we must turn around to him, We should open up to him. The way we open up to him is confession and communion it helps us grow in his faith. It shows we are Catholics, SPREAD GODS WORD!!!
This article reminds me of the scripture where Jesus said sick people need the doctor not the healthy people. this is a reminder that Jesus works though the needy and poor because they need him more than the rest of us. of course i am not saying that miracles can’t happen to any other person except for the poor and hungry, it is just that some people need some more help than others.
When we celebrate all saint’s day and all soul’s day, we learn that we are made to see God face to face at the end of our journey through the death and resurrection of Christ in baptism. Meaning when we celebrate we are learning that we are made to see God after our death .
Sin is an everyday thing for people. Even if we don’t notice that we are sinning. And that’s why it is hard for a lot of people sometimes. And we all struggle with this but Jesus will always love us.
Jesus loves us so much. Jesus loves us so much that if we were lost he would leave all of his followers just to find one person. In this reading one sheep is lost from his 99 and he leaves his 99 other sheep just to find that 1 sheep, when He finds the sheep He comes back do his friends and family and rejoices that he found his sheep. This shows us how much He loves each and every single one of us unconditionally and He hurts when we turn away from him. So we shouldn’t make Him look for us when we’re supposed to be looking for Him. No matter how much we sin no matter what he will still love us.
It’s crazy how a lot of us get distracted from him,pay attention to other things like sleeping, and wasting our time saying that we are too busy for him.He would leave everyone else in the world behind just to get to us after we turned our backs to him and didn’t even pay any attention when he tries to bring us back to him just to do what we WANT to do.He is crazy in love with us,his love is stronger than anyone we know on earth, and he won’t leave us no matter what,we leave him.
God loves us so much we will leave all other people that are closer to Him Just to save one of us and he will keep looking till he finds us. God will always forgive us but we also have to let him find us and help us when we fall away from him and When he finds you he will rejoice and celebrate. We need to listen and hear God more s we could not fall away so far and stay closest to the one that loves us the most.
Jesus Loves us so much that the Son of God would go down on this sinful world and eat with us. That is how you know he loves us so much. Jesus will leave everything behind just to find you He will leave the 99 just to find you. The thing that stuck out to me was the angels in heaven will rejoice when one turns back to God. God’s love for us is reckless He would do anything for us. He made us for a reason. We might not know what our reason is right this second but we will know whenever God wants us to know. Whenever you are trying to figure out who you are but in the process if you can be sure about 2 things be sure that you know Jesus loves you so much and that you are his child.
Today in the scripture I believe that Jesus will have more happiness in 1 person than in 99 other people. This is because of what he says at the end of the Gospel. there will be rejoicing among the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.” So everyone needs to realize in order to get to Heaven we need to realize that Jesus saved us and we need to be saved. We also have to repent on our sins because if we don’t like not going to Confession and receiving the Eucharist stuff like that then we will not get to Heaven because we need to be saved.
to me its really amazing that despite the fact that we havent done anything for him, he would not hesitate to give up his life for us, which he obviously already demonstrated in his dying on the cross.
In this passage when he was a shepherded out of his 99 sheep he lost when and kept looking for it night and day. Jesus will do anything to help us. That shows how much he loves us.
What God is trying to say is that even if you loose a single thing it should be found and taken care of. Everything has a value and you should cherish its value.
This tells us no matter how many perfect people that need no repentance, God will ALWAYS come and find the sinner and rejoice that He found him
i think that todays scripture just goes to show how much you are loved by god. he will always leave the 99 to find the 1 sheep he will drop every thing for you. you are HIS and he is YOURS.
I love this reading because It says He would leave the 99 sheep to go find the 1 lost one. God knows our name out of the hundreds of people he has created. He loves us and would do anything for us. It reminds me of something we talked about a couple days ago, If one kid in our class was not in our class we would have a completely different class. Without that one sheep the herd would not be the same.
I think in this God is telling us he would go everywhere to find us he came down from heaven to a sinful world to save us and even if we were the only person on earth he would still have died for us.
What stuck out to me is that God’s one desire is your friendship. He sent His only Son to die for it. God wants a relationship with you. Our sin is a failure in relationships. We all need to learn and practice forgiveness because we will certainly fail in our relationships. They are difficult. With God’s grace and love transforming us, we too can share this love to build healthy relationships with others.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
i like this because Jesus will help you and guide you to the right path
he will drop everything and help you so don’t feel like he is going to help you
This paragraph is saying if you lose one thing that you love dearly you will dig for it and look for it once you found you will rejoice and be happy. This is a sign of God or Anthony of Padua (Patron Saint of Lost things). You can pray to either one for if you cannot find what your are searching for even if it isn’t a thing, it can be your way home you can pray or any noun.
We must try our best to not sin if we want to have a good relationship with God.
What stuck out to me was that we are created out of love and we do not exist and our lives have no meaning without this love. Another thing that stuck out to me was that God’s grace is a gift that can’t be earned and that he is not economical. He is willing to leave everyone just so that he can find one of us.
God says he always goes back for the ones who are lost and celebrate’s them but in my mind i think of does he not celebrate in us to who are with him? I figured out that Jesus celebrates in all of us but also when we are lost but then he finds us. I think that is a good parable it always makes me think about if i am wondering off or am I with him celebrating.
God loves us so much that he will leave everyone to go look for one of us God will always forgive us no matter what we do, we just have to let him find us and when he finds He will rejoice, we need to listen to the word of God.
In this scripture this part stuck out to me: ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ because it is who God is. He doesn’t care how many times you fall into sin. When you go to confession, it’s like you were lost but now found. After confession you are the 1 sheep that was lost but now found. No matter how many times you have to go to confession, (get lost) God will always welcome you with open arms cause you were lost, then you were found.
In this parable it’s telling us that if you are a sinner and you repent, there would be more joy in Heaven then if 99 riotous people repeat when they don’t need to. We are so important to God that he would leave 99 riotous people to come find us, as sinners.
When we sin, we become LOST and need God ´ s grace. God can give us His grace by forgiving us if we ask for it. Forgiveness helps us get to Heaven, and it also helps others get to Heaven. But forgiving people is hard for us, and it takes time to learn to forgive. Heaven and Earth are changed every time we forgive someone, and we are changed every time God forgives us.
The thing that stuck out to me most was that we must learn to avoid the near occasion of sin. That means we have to pray and listen to God so we can avoid sin and grow in Holiness. We do not know how to avoid sin, we have to be taught by God. Sin is always lurking around us and is just waiting to pounce so we need God to teach us to avoid it and to be near him.
God invites us to eat with him even though we are sinners. Jesus came down to save us from sins and to make it to heaven, if we repent we can be with God
I feel like Jesus is telling us today that is is never too late. He will always come looking for us if we stray away. We simply need to try to find Him, too.
This is saying to me that we should seek Jesus. Jesus is here with us everyday all day long whether we know it or not. We must seek him and ask him to help us in our daily life. We are all sinners but he will forgive us anyway. We must always try and seek out Jesus so he can help us when we are in need of help.
Every single one of us matters. We are important. God will stay with us no matter what we do. He loves you unconditionally.
scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” you are not too far gone for god to not love you. Jesus loves the leas of us he loves us all no matter what we do he will always forgive us and will always want us.
Jesus rejoices when He finds His lost sheep (sinner, person who has driven away from God.) And when that sinner repents and loves God again, He will rejoice because His beloved child has come back to Him. Jesus is drawn toward sinners because they are in need of saving and repentance.
what the scripture is telling me is that when we sin God looks for us. God leaves the other 99 to find the one sinner there is to reunite them with Him. we should always be searching for the one sinner there is and help them back to the herd.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that Jesus loves us more than anything. There is nothing He wouldn’t do for us. When we sin, we become lost, but if we repent and ask for forgiveness God will come find us again.
In this Scripture Jesus tells us a parable about how he would leave 99 sheep to find the one lost sheep. This can relate to the real world because of missionaries. The one sheep represents the fallen Catholics and the missionaries help bring them back to the church. Jesus wouldn’t abandon you. He would search for that one sheep with the risk that the others might be taken or eaten. That is how much Jesus loves us.
God never gives up on us even if we keep sinning. he will always try to bring us closer to him and when he does he will never let us go. we have hurt God so many times by sinning and directly disobeying his commandments but he will never stop loving us. we can’t just expect to be saved without doing any work though we still have to pray and try to live holy lives.
I think this scripture means that we must try to bring people together in christ. We are all children of christ and when one leaves him we must go searching for them to bring them back to the faith.
This scripture tells us that God has radical love for us, so unimaginable that if we have sin in our hearts we can’t go into heaven because love is so abundant. God loves us very much, and he will always forgive us, and never deny us, but we can deny him, thats why its so important to live your life focused on getting to heaven
Jesus cares about everyone and will go out and find you. We need to accept everyone in our life. This might also relate to our selves. We have many fake identities of ourselves but we need to go out and try to find our true self in Jesus Christ. We need to understand that no matter what Jesus will always love us and he will always go looking for us.
This is one of my favorite bible verses because it reminds us how much God cares about you. This bible verse is telling us that God will always be there for you even when you are lost.
The gospel today tells us about how big Jesus love is for everyone. In the gospel Jesus leaves his 99 sheep just to find his one lost one. This really stuck out to me because. Jesus made every single on of us unique. And he loves us in every way that he makes us like. So we should never feel lonely or sad or depressed because Jesus is always with you and he will never stop loving you.
I believe this passage is saying that if there are 100 sheep and one is lost Jesus will come and find you. He is that kind of person. He is the one who created us after all so why wouldn’t He come look for us. God is here when we need Him. Through the good and through the bad. He will never let you go. But will you let Him go? I think for most of us that we believe that Jesus doesn’t answer any of our prayers and we feel like God doesn’t care for us. But guys guess what He does care for you and He always will.
Jesus loves everyone no matter what he will love us in order to make it to heaven we need to love him. God is the only way to make it to heaven.
I think this gospel is saying that God accepts anyone. We need to go to Him when we are feeling distressed. He will open His door and talk to us. Talk to God just like a friend.
What stuck out to me is that God’s one desire is your friendship. He sent His only Son to die for it. God wants a relationship with you. Our sin is a failure in relationships. We all need to learn and practice forgiveness because we will certainly fail in our relationships.
“And go after the lost one until he finds it?” Jesus knows that all of us are lost like lost sheep, but thankfully for us we have a good Shepherd who will go to the ends of the Earth and die for us so that we can be with him in paradise. That’s how much he loves us.
“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” This is 8 words but has a huge meaning. Jesus forgives us no matter what. We are sinners, but Jesus doesn’t care. He will love us no matter what we do. If we lie, He loves us. If we steal, He loves us. If we commit the worst sin in the world, He loves us. He will be waiting for us for as long as it takes.
Jesus leaves the 99 for the 1. This shows how much Jesus loves us. He wants and loves us. He is chasing after us, we are not chasing after him. God has always and will always want us.
The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
This is what really stuck out to me today, The Pharisees and scribes were all saying he shouldn’t be with sinners and eating with them, But they all are sinners, they all sin just as much as the other people eating with Jesus have. They don’t want to believe it, they think oh I have the title of Pharisees, I never sin I would never. But they do and they don’t believe it, just as they didn’t believe in Jesus.
God loves everyone. If he loses one person, he is going to go to the end of the world for that person. God would do anything for us. We need to realize that no matter how hard life is gonna get, how much you sin, how much you’ve swore his name, he’s always going to love you.
This scripture is talking about how Jesus does not matter if we are sinner he welcomes anyone into heaven because he loves us very dearly like the man who goes to find the lost sheep and after he find it he makes a big party because he found it. it doesn´t matter if we are sinners because Jesus will love us no matter what .
God is with you what ever you do and where ever you are.
This Gospel tells us that we are a lost sheep. We NEED to find Jesus through our actions, words and thoughts and quit running away from God. Jesus always and will never stop trying to talk to us. We need to be open to his words and believe in him. I learned that even if we were the only person on this planet that God would still love us and never stop thinking about us for the rest of our lives on earth. I learned that we are lost and we need to accept that but also make a change and follow Jesus.
I think that scripture is telling us that God loves us so dearly that He would leave the ninety-nine just to get to us and have us repent, for when we do He is waiting to rejoice with all of our loved ones who have also repented.
I think the Scripture is saying Jesus will accept everyone. Jesus will accept everyone for who they are and He will not judge. If we sin Jesus will still accept us. We can sin time and time again and Jesus will always accept us. We can learn from that. We can learn to accept people for who they are. We can accept people who we may not like. If we are ever judging someone we can think of Jesus, who never judged a single person.
Jesus welcomes everyone into His arms, but what about those who refuse to come to Him? God loves and cares for those who believe in Him and come to Him, but people who at first refused but come to Him in the end are what He is telling us we should rejoice for. He welcomes them, even though they rejected Him before.
Jesus loves all of us even when we start to fall away from him and become the lost Shepard and we have to find our way back to Jesus through acts of prayer and going to mass and adoration and having time to talk with Jesus. We then will spread the word to people that may have not heard about the word of God and have them come closer to Jesus and Know that they always have someone who loves them and is always there for them and we are the ones who will have to find Jesus and get ourselves closer to Him.
This scripture reflection is telling us to repent. If we don’t we will never go to Heaven. If we do then we will go to Heaven. The choice is ours, so do repent and claim the Kingdom of God.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’” This scripture to me is saying that God never forgets about us. He doesn’t have favorites and least favorites. He doesn’t hate the ones who sin the most. He loves us all and this scripture helps show that.
What really ticks me off about this passage is how the citizens act. They should know that Jesus accepts everybody, no matter how many sins they commited.
What I am getting from this scripture is that we all are sinners, no one in this world has not sinned. Jesus died for our sins. We all commit sins. But that doesnt matter, the Lord will still love us and forgive us. We need Jesus’ love to be happy. Without him we are not happy. People might not believe in that and they will tell you it’s all fake but it really isn’t.
It is saying that we must not leave anyone out no matter what our friends say. We must have the courage to ask if they want to come and hang out with you instead of forgetting them. God never would leave us behind so then why do we leave people out or talk behind their backs. We must try and find them like how God left 99 sheep to find only one.
One piece of Scripture that really stuck out to me was where it says this: ‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’ In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” It stuck out to me because Jesus says that the people in heaven will rejoice at every single person that repents and gets to heaven. When someone repents, they regret their sins and turn to God for help. When they do this, Jesus says that the people in heaven will be rejoicing. That is a good thing, why would we not want to repent? God wants us to get to heaven and repent, to look to him for help, and when we do, He is rejoicing.
Today Jesus reminds us that He chases after us. In our heads we think that we are chasing after Jesus but that is not true. We are lost all the time, and Jesus said it Himself that he will leave all the clean people and go for the one lost. When we feel lost we just need to calm down and realize He is chasing, us not the other way around
Jesus will go after you. No sin is too far gone for God to forgive. He chases after us, wanting to grow closer to us. HE CARES. Sometimes we think we aren’t good enough for God. But that’s not true. Jesus loves you. He wants you. Let Him take your heart.
I think God is trying to tell us how much he loves us. God would leave all of his things just to find one when he already has millions and millions of people devoted to the Catholic Faith.
“What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.”
Jesus will leave the 99 to come find us the lost sheep and he wont stop until we let him embrace us with open arms
In this reading Jesus talks about how not just people who are good are loved. Jesus loves everyone even if we don’t love Him back. Like the good shepherd Jesus will never let you leave He will always be there for you.
“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” This is why God is so good. He will love us to eternity. He will never stop loving us even if we do something really bad.
The verse i liked was this one.God’s grace can’t be earned, its a gift and He can use it how He wants. How does a sinner receive this grace? Allowing Jesus into your boat, recognizing our sinfulness, humbly approaching the One who is love, mercy, and justice why i liked it so much is that God grace cant be earned and to earn it is by recognizing are sin and approaching it and asking for forgiveness
I feel like this tells me know matter what i do Jesus will always love me no matter what and he will always be there for me when i need him and when i don’t and he will never stop loving me and everyone else.
God loves us. He would go to the end of the earth to retrieve us. I believe that this is kind of referencing when Jesus said that he was here not for the Pharisees, but for the sinners, ” The healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do.” That God would do anything for us should only strengthen the bond of love that we as humans can understand.
God loves you for who you are and will sacrifice himself even if you are the only one on Earth. God will never stop loving you and will always go looking for you when you have got lost in sin.
What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep
To me this means that he (God and Jesus) will never give up on us he will always look for a way to find us
When he says ´ ´ there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.¨ he is saying that even if you kill someone and you are truly sorry for it you will still go to heaven. God always knows the intentions of your heart and if you are truly sorry he will know.
We may need to change a routine we are in, a place we go, people we hang out with, or today an electronic device we use too much (what is the purpose of the device?). This is so true because most of the time I am on a device and then I ask myself why I am and I don’t have an answer. The devil can also use electronics to get you to sin but he uses devices to get us away from the people we love and not to pay attention too. It hurts the people that are around us and not give them any attention that they deserve.
Today in scripture Jesus talks about who would leave the 99 for one and says that all the angels in heaven will rejoice for the one sinner that repents. This tells me that God still loves us even if we are lost and he will do anything to get us back to him. we need to learn to accept Gods call to come back to him after we are lost.
What stuck out to me is that God will leave 99 and come find 1.That stuck out to me because if you are that lost one he will come to get you and leave 99 all he wants to do is be there for you so that you can talk and be friends that is what it meant to me is that he will always be there.
Though God’s love may be stupid, it was meant for us. What I mean by stupid is he will leave 99 to go find the 1, that 1 is us. If that isn’t having faith in Jesus I really don’t know what is. Just imagine how stressed we would be if it weren’t for reconciliation, if it wasn’t for that most of us just stop caring or have so much stress. If it weren’t for reconciliation Heaven would be empty, which shows how much God loves us, if you do something wrong and you’re truly sorry God will forgive you because He loves you instead of throwing you in Hell even if you were sorry. So though God’s love may be idiotic, it’s the greatest thing humans could ever imagine.
I believe that this shows us that, no matter what we have done or will do, Jesus will love us and eat with us.
“There will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” I liked this phrase because it is saying that we need to repent and be joyful. We are all sinners and that means we all need to repent. No one is to good or better than others to repent. Then when you get to Heaven if you repent they will rejoice for you more than they would for 99 other people that don’t repent.
God would sacrifice everything for us, so can we not spend time with him? It is really simple. We can’t be friends with God if we don’t talk to Him and spend time with Him.
In this Gospel Jesus tells us that he would leave the 99 sheep to find the one lost sheep. If we are ever the lost sheep, we should know that Jesus is always looking for us and wants us to come back to him. When he finally finds the lost sheep, he will rejoice and celebrate. This tells us that when we go to heaven, everyone will rejoice. It will be as if there was a party up there. In all, Jesus really wants us to be with him even if we are lost.
Or what woman having ten coins and losing one would not light a lamp and sweep the house, searching carefully until she finds it? And when she does find it, she calls together her friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’ In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” This mean everything can be fond and when we are lost the church will find us and rejoice to God
This tells us that as we know we are his sheep and even if we lose him he’ll always do his best to find us and he might not be able too which is our fault.
We should pray and read the bible to get closer to God. And we should try to listen to Him.
We should accept God into our lives by setting aside the things that bring us closer to sin. We also should talk to God by praying, sitting in silence and praying the roasary.
We should always repent and confess to God. Even if it feels like it is not a big deal or it was a while ago we still need to. We also need to always listen to God and have him be the center of our lives. Even if you have never really prayed for most of your life, it is never too late to be with God.
