Prayer Prompt before reading MK 1:40-45: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and who God the Son is so that I may know who I am.

“I DO WILL IT. BE MADE CLEAN.” MK 1:40-45

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Imagine being banned from your family, friends, church, school, workplace, community, everybody. There are other lepers living with you in misery outside the towns. You may have lost all hope. Then, you hear that there is a Man that can cure you and set you free of your illness. Just as the leper did, we would fall to our knees and beg Jesus to heal us.

Now, stop imagining and instead of a leper insert you and me as a sinner.  Jesus wills to heal us and He willed to die on the cross to fulfill His Father’s will to redeem us from Adam and Eve’s original sin. We can’t forget this part of our identity. We inherited a loss of holiness and a loss of relationship with our Creator.

The only way back to the Father, our Creator, is through a Savior. His body and blood, soul and divinity without sin, His life. Jesus saw each one of our faces and our sin past, present, and future. He willfully took our place to redeem us and pay for the consequences of our sins. God’s love is unfair, radical, and loves the unlovable.

Do we appreciate it? Is there any way we can pay Him back? We can’t add anything to God. He is perfect and holy. But there is one way, how we worship Him. And the one way He gave us to worship Him was the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass where He gives us Himself in the Eucharist!

Jesus wills Baptism, reconciliation, and gives Himself to us totally and completely in the Eucharist, so that we have an opportunity for His grace and to be forgiven when we fall so that we can come back to Him healed of our infirmities, holy, and enter heaven. There is no limit to His mercy, never tire of returning to Him after you have fallen. There are no whoppers too big for His grace.

Grace restores what sin has damaged, allow yourself to be forgiven and healed. What will you do with this grace, this powerful love? Sin again or fight harder. Be careful not to take advantage of this great gift and sin again because you know God will forgive you (sin of presumption). God is not a slot machine. Jesus wants to cleanse us, but we must respond with love, thanksgiving, and avoid the near occasion of sin.

Jesus told the leper to show himself to the priest to be cleansed by what Moses prescribed, so that the priests would allow him back into their religious community. We too must forgive and allow people back into our lives. Forgiveness sets free the chains that bind us filled with hatred, anger, frustration, worry, anxiety, and bitterness towards another. Forgive and experience peace.
“Say please, thank you, and I’m sorry every day.” –Pope Francis

Today’s challenge: Allow Christ to heal your wounds, come before Him begging on your knees in confession and at Mass.

Be a servant, become a saint!

What stood out to me was: “God’s love is unfair, radical, and loves the unlovable.” This stood out to me because even though people know this they never really quite grab the concept, which is that God would do anything for you, absolutely anything.

” “I do will it. Be made clean.”
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.”
Jesus will always do his best to heal us. He wants to care for us. Jesus loves us all very much. Make sure you pray everyday, and make sure you go to Jesus whenever you have anything difficult going on. Go to him for guidance. God will always be waiting for you.

I really like this Gospel because the leper knew Jesus would be able to heal him. This is the kind of faith we need in our lives because without faith and without Jesus, what do we have? So ask Jesus today for good faith and ask Him to reveal Himself more fully to you.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals and cleans a leper. Before that though, everyone would judge and be disgusted by the leper. He needed help and they ignored. This is a good example for today’s world. We ignore, judge, gossip, and it always ends up hurting somebody. We need to be more like Jesus, who helped the leper. If we don’t, we are being rude and unkind. We never know when someone is hurting. Everyone has something weighing down their hearts. But if we are open, Jesus will help us! So, we need to strive to be more like Christ. He is always willing to help us.

we are super lucky that Jesus died for us. he didnt have to do that. he saved all of us. God will always forgive us if we ask for forgiveness and we actully mean it. we cant say we are sorry for what we did and not actully be sorry or he wont forgive us. Jesus wants us to be with him we just hhave to want it to. we needed to be healed by Jesus.

What this means to me is that Jesus will always take us in and love us no matter what even if we sin he will heal us as he did the leper and he forgives us and i think we should do the same and follow his footsteps by helping others even just a little goes a long way because we have no idea what other people are going through no one does except themselves and i bet you if you help one person just a little it could mean so much for the other person.

“I DO WILL IT. BE MADE CLEAN.” MK 1:40-45. I think God was telling me that if we ask Jesus for something he will make it happen but we need to make ourselves or others clean. I think it was also saying that if we have been cleaned from our sins the thing we are having trouble with or the person we might be praying for, he will help us or help the person we are praying for.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals a leper, but there’s a deeper meaning we are the leper begging Jesus to be healed from our sin. But once we’re healed we forget what Jesus told us to do and go with our life like nothing ever happened.

God wants us to choose him. That if we ask something from him it will be given to us. He doesn’t send us to hell because he doesn’t love us he sends people there because they did not want him, so then because they choose to live without God, God separates them eternally from them. The leper came to Jesus putting his faith into him asking him to be made clean, because the leper had faith and asked Jesus for help, Jesus healed him.

this gospel told me that Jesus loves us so unconditionally he would take our pain away. When the leper came to him and said “if you wish you can make me clean” Jesus did it without an ounce of doubt. Its the same as when he died on the cross, he took on every single one of our sins and all our suffering because he loves us so much. Its kind of like how when you see someone you love more than anything in pain, you want to take their pain away just to see them happy again, but in this instance Jesus is you and he loves you dearly he took our pain. But at the end of this gospel I got a completely different message, after Jesus had told the leper not to tell anyone the leper went out and spread the word. Jesus then had to stay out of the town. Its the same for us, spreading things around can lead to people not wanting or being able to show themselves at school or in public. Gossiping can feel right in the moment, but it can also tear someones world apart.

“He remained outside in deserted places,

In today’s Gospel we have a leper, the unclean coming to Jesus and having immense faith in God’s power to heal and like Jesus says in the gospel of Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you”. So the leper is healed and then goes, spreading the word that he was healed by the Son of God Jesus Christ. After that Jesus was unable to get into a town openly.

This scripture reflection told me about how much Jesus has truly done for us, and will continue to do. We never will truly be able to grasp what Jesus has done for us. How much torture he went through just for us to be able to be with him for eternal life. Sometimes we have to realize that we are not worthy of the Grace of God and that he just loves us SO much he gives it to us even tho we don’t always deserve it. WE need to remember that just because Jesus will always love us, that doesn’t mean we should do whatever we want just because his love is never-ending.

In today’s scripture we talk about how Jesus is able to clean and heal the leaper. We are like leapers when we sin, we are unclean and not ready to receive the Eucharist. We pray to God to help us heal from all evil and cleanse us and be with him again Let your heart be open unto him s he can help you. God gives us many things that we don’t deserve so don’t take advantage of all the amazing sacraments God has given to you. Let’s act more like the Lord!!

Is a great phrase because I feel that as if all the time people forgot why their here and what their here for. Jesus dying for us is such a big act and their is no way to fully repay him but he doesnt ask of us to. The least we can do for him is worship and take time out of our day to give him thanks.

This is a classic Gospel where Jesus develops his social appearance because of his works. He heals a leper and forbids him to tell anyone but he tells everyone. This makes everyone flock to Jesus which the Romans and Pharrisses hate. Jesus heals him even though he knows he will disobey him. He will heal us no matter what we do to offend him.

He’s willing to forgive us every time we sin but we shouldn’t take advantage of that. In today’s Gospel, it tells us that a leper asks Jesus to clean him. Jesus did and said to him not to tell anyone. But, the man didn’t do that. The man went out and told everyone making Jesus unable to go anywhere without a crowd. So, that is why Jesus remained in remote places.

Today’s gospel is just mind blowing to me because it just does not make sense and that is one of the great wonders about Jesus. It just does not make sense. But we have to have faith and hope like that leper had the faith that God would heal him and turn him clean. We are the lepers we are unclean we are sin full we have to be like the leper and be honest with God and pray for his peace and his will will be done unto us.

Todays Gospel Jesus heals the leper by the leper coming to him and asking for cleansing. Jesus excepts him like he has known him for a long time. It teaches me to not only go to God for forgiveness. But it also tells me to except one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.

In today’s Gospel God cures a man with an incurable disease. This tells us how much God cares for us and how powerful He truly is. He is capable of everything and within him we have no limit to what we can do.

I think today in the Gospel God is telling me to trust Him completely and follow His will so that He can do great things through me. The leper in the Gospel believed that Jesus could heal him, but told everyone about how Jesus healed him even though he told him not to. I need to obey Him as well as trust Him if I want to go to heaven.

something that stuck with me when i read this is that imagine being bannished form your family, community, and everybody and you are now around other lepers this was the fate many people had unfortunately had to live thorugh. the reason i think this stuck with me is because i just imagine being banished and cursed at by the people you love the own people you thought would cherish you forever and suddenly youre cursed at by them. Jesus came and saved these people and let them live once again with theyre family and this story was a very sad and heartwarming story

What I got out of today Gospel is anything you ask for from the Lord he will give. That doesn’t mean we can just go around saying ¨God can I have a million dollars.¨ It has to be something from him like a better relationship with him or for your loved ones to be safe. We should always be grateful for God because with him nothing is impossible

“If you wish, you can make me clean.” “I do will it. Be made clean.” Not too long ago, I watched the movie Where the Red Fern Grows. I absolutely love that movie, I first watched it when I was probably 8 years old and I have always remembered when his dogs first treed a raccoon in a big tree. He had promised them that if they treed something he would get it. He had carried a little axe with him and stayed out three days chopping away at the tree, because he remembered his grandpa telling him he had to meet God halfway. So he chopped the tree down quite a bit and at that point his dad had gone by and brought him a bigger axe and his mom brought him some food for him and the dogs. When he was almost halfway through chopping down said tree, there was a lot of wind and the tree came down, but the wind was only hitting that singular tree. This Gospel for some reason reminded me of Where the Red Fern Grows, maybe because the tree finally falling was like God saying he will the boy to get that raccoon.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals a leper and tells him to not tell anybody what the leper saw. In the end, the leper did and Jesus couldn’t go into a town openly. Lepers were often ostracized because no one wanted to be near a leper, as they were sick. We are like the leper as sinners. When we sin, we drift away from God and we may get ostracized by our peers and family. But, we turn to God for his saving and forgiving grace. Despite this, we sin anyway afterward like the leper. So, let us turn to God for his saving grace and try to follow the path of holiness God wanted us to follow.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals and cleans a leper. Before that though, everyone would judge and be disgusted by the leper. He needed help and they ignored. This is a good example for today world. He is always willing to help us

In todays gospel Jesus heals a man but tells him not to tell anyone about it, even though he does. We ourselves should live like this. Doing right without anyone else knowing not expecting anything back.

Jesus heals and saves us from sin. He would die on the cross even if we were the only one on earth. He has a deep love for us that cant be broken. He will always forgive us no matter what. He is like a best friend who you can trust that they will forgive you.

what i got from today’s gospel was that we can put ourselves in the position of a leper who so desperately wanted Jesus to cure him, we should desperately want Jesus to take away our sin. the beautiful thing is, we don’t even have to wait he just forgives us if we’re sorry. God loves us so much and its so unconditional that even if we don’t deserve it he still wants to pave a road back to heaven to be with him.

What took from today’s gospel is that Jesus can heal you but you got to ask him. Even if Jesus does something nice for us and asks us to do one thing for him we can still turn away from him and not do what he ask from us.

What really stook out to me is when Jesus told the man with leprecy after he had cleaned him said “See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed;that will be proof for them”.

In the Gospel today Jesus heals a leper. Then He tells the leper to show the priest that he is healed and tell no one what happened. People used to think that lepers were terrible human beings. They would believe that so much that they wouldn’t even go near the lepers. I think just because the world hates you or dislikes you doesn’t mean that God hates you. God loves each and everyone of us dearly.

This reminds me of all the times I’ve prayed to God. But when What I prayed for happens, I don’t even bother to say thank you. I just go on with my day as if nothing ever happened. In the Gospel, the leper asks Jesus to cleanse him, and Jesus does, but then the leper disobeyed Jesus and told everyone of what happened. I hope that I can be more grateful with every blessing I get in my life.

In today’s gospel Jesus shows us that God can do anything. We have to believe that he can and if he wills it whatever we ask of him will be granted. He is willing to do anything good for us. Nothing and no one can compare to love, generosity, and care that our Lord gives. We should be grateful every day because Jesus gives us everything even though he knows we could never repay him.

“Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the sabbath?” We need to keep holy the Sabbath day. We need to go to church and reflect on everything God had giving to us. We need to be aware that God gave us everything and we need to be greatful.

The Gospel today is showing us that if you believe in Jesus with your whole body, Jesus will believe in you. Like the leper, if we believe in God and do his will, Jesus will help us when we need it. Jesus loves us unconditionally and will never stop believing in you to follow him in Christ and in love. Jesus will always be here for us and will never hesitate to take your “hand” and love if you hold it out to him. God loves you, Jesus loves you and that will never change no matter what you do! So follow him for he will be following you until you turn around. He is here for you and that could never EVER change!

the verse that stood out to me was “i do will it. Be made clean.”

this stood out to me because this man he was speaking to was a leper, one of the people with such a contagious disease that they were not allowed to be inside the town and had to be isolated from family and friends, yet Jesus is not afraid of getting the illness, and he heals him. this shows god mercy to all the sinners and never forget us.
