Prayer Prompt before reading JN 13:16-20 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“IF YOU UNDERSTAND THIS, BLESSED ARE YOU IF YOU DO IT.” JN 13:16-20

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus the God Man is washing His Apostles’ feet. The Creator of all that is who created out of nothing. The One who is everywhere all of the time. The One who thinks about you constantly, loves you infinitely and delights in you. He is washing His Apostles’ feet and then says, “no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him”.

God the Son loves the Father so much, He washes the Apostles feet, institutes the Eucharist to stay hidden behind bread and wine for us until He returns, then goes through an unbearable Passion, and dies for us all in doing the Father’s will so we could be back with the Father in heaven. ”If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.”

Do we understand that God created us and loves us more than we love ourselves? Do we understand what true love is? It is not of this world it comes from above. Have we lost the Passion of Christ in Lent? Have we already forgotten what He did for us? Have we made a fast or sacrifice since Lent?

One part of coming to God in prayer each day is to be reminded of God’s great love for us. He wants to give us everything we need, take time each day to slow down and receive, fill your grace tank, and be at peace amidst the storms and business of life. Jesus emptied Himself and became a slave for the Father and all humanity to reconcile us back to the Father.

How do we imitate Christ with our mission and purpose? We empty ourselves, put on Christ, and go out into the world and love by serving others and not being selfish. Amazing, Jesus who is God washes the Apostles’ feet! Master’s rarely even asked their slaves to do this. God loves us so much and brings His grace and mercy to the greatest sinners through His Son.

In simpler terms, Jesus died so we could inherit the Kingdom, but here on earth He simply wants to be best friends with us and eat with us at table, listen and talk to us in prayer, and give us joy and peace now! Let Him come to you and go to Him in every moment of everyday.

Today’s challenge: Wash someone’s feet who is the least among you. Who is the outcast in your class? Who is different than everyone else? Who is going through the most in their family? Go wash their feet, a.k.a., comfort them, talk to them, invite them to something.

Be a servant, become a saint!

What stood out to me was this “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.” Because it is saying that if you believe in God and are a good and holy Christian then you will be in heaven with God.

The footwashing serves as a startling revelation of God’s character, where the Infinite Creator intentionally chooses the status of a slave to demonstrate that true power is found in radical humility. By scrubbing the grime from His Apostles feet and hiding His majesty within the Eucharist. Jesus invites us into a blessedness that contradicts the world’s pursuit of status. This reflection reminds us that our mission isn’t just to remember Christ’s Passion during Lent, but to live it daily by emptying ourselves refilling our grace tanks through intimate prayer and then stepping out to serve others without selfishness. in the end the God who died to give us a kingdom simply wants to be our best friend, inviting us to trade the storms of life for the peace found in His company at the table.

Jesus loves us so much he died for us. So Why would you sin and hurt him. Jesus will do anything for you he loves you that much. If there ever are any hard times for you pray to Jesus and your prayers shall be answered. If you believe in Jesus and go to Mass and pray every night.

Today’s gospel says “no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.” We must remember that no matter how hard we try we won’t be greater that God. We shoulden’t even try to be greater than God because God is our Lord.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is washing his disciples’ feet. This shows that we are called to be servants and serve others. Jesus is the King of the whole world. You would not expect him to do an actual servants job and wash feet. He did it because he had humility. Jesus came into the world to serve, not be served, as we should be.

Jesus establishes a clear purpose: “no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him”. By washing their feet, a task reserved for the lowliest servants, Jesus redefines greatness.

In today’s gospel, Jesus tells his disciples that he chose people to fulfill the scripture and we shall believe that Jesus is God. He wants us to know that we should believe in God so that we can have eternal life with God.

No slave is greater than their master. We are not greater than God and we can never be greater than God. But if we receive and listen to Jesus, then we can receive the Father. Jesus is the Son of God. He says it again in this Gospel, “I am.” Jesus shows us to be servants for others. We must serve others as Jesus served us.

The first part of the Gospel tells that no one is greater than another. All men are created equal and blessed are those who understand this teaching. We are all created for heaven so no one should get shoved around and be prevented from living the holy life he was created for. He then tells them about how humanity will be saved through him and how he is God consubstantial with the Father. It is an early teaching of the Trinity.

Today Jesus tells his disiples, that no slave is above his master and no messenger is greater than the one who sent him, Jesus is saying here, that no one is greater than him. Then he says to them I AM, whoever receives who I have sent, receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.

If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.” This is saying that no one is greater then each other. Just because your richer, prettier, happier, or have a better life. That dose not mean you are better than anyone. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who is better than all of us. We should praise Him for all He has done for us and ask Him to forgive us for thinking we are better than others.

Jesus wants us to understand that he is fully human just like us. He doesn’t see himself as being greater than us, he just wants to be friends with us. We should do the same to others. No one is greater than another person. Pride and ego is one of the worst things to have too much of, so swallow your pride and be a humble servant of God.

Not everything Is a race, if you take your time and slow down you will do way better. And also slow down prying, we usually pray very fast and God doesn’t hear us speaking to him. In today’s Gospel, I think that God is trying to tell me that we are all equal and nobody should hold God’s Word from someone. We should spread the word of Jesus because if we do other people will receive Him and they will get to know the Son and Father. We should never discriminate the Word from someone because we are all equal and they deserve to know God through Jesus. So we should not discriminate and spread God’s Word so others will know.

God has chose each of us to have a purpose in this world. He calls some to be religious brothers and sisters. If all of these saints didn’t listen to God’s call we wouldn’t have any of the beautiful relics and prayers we have today. So as we go through life it’s important to listen to God’s call, one of us could be next.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is talking about how everyone is equal and that everyone should be treated equal. I think that sometimes its hard to treat others equal because we naturally put ourselves above others to make ourselves feel better. It takes real courage and humility to realize that we are the exact same as everyone else. we are all children of God trying our best to do what is right in God’s eyes.

In today’s gospel Jesus does 2 main things. The first is that He is establishing Himself as the way to the Father, and that the Holy Spirit is the way to Him. The second is he foreshadows Judas’s betrayal on Holy Thursday. He also says that we can’t be greater than God; however, we can still conform ourselves to him. This is how we can be holy.
