“I DO NOT ACCEPT HUMAN TESTIMONY, BUT I SAY THIS SO THAT YOU MAY BE SAVED.” JN 5:31-47
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Today, Jesus reminds us He is God and that He came from the Father.
“The works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.”
He is one with God and the Torah is being fulfilled by Him as He speaks. Jesus is the Law of Moses.
“For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me” and “You search the Scriptures, because you think you have eternal life through them; even they testify on my behalf.”
The Word made Flesh dwelt among us and He brought us a message of salvation, “I do not accept human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved.”
Does Jesus need to be more detailed and explicit in who He is and what His mission is about? Will there ever be enough Words from God to convince us that Jesus is the Savior of the world and God is the one true God? No. We have to believe it is the Truth in our heart and totally and completely dedicate ourselves to Him with faith. Our faith is based on these Words He revealed. Our faith is increased in silence developing a personal relationship with the One who gave all!
We will fall short putting forth half-hearted effort, continuing to fall, and a wavering faith. This is the beauty of the Gospel, God knows these weaknesses and still chooses to love with a Father’s love waiting patiently for a more resolute yes from our hearts. Jesus just wants our hearts! We have a passion, a fire, to do something amazing with our life. God gave us this gift, this life, to learn how to love! He is calling us back to Himself through this desire to be someone who makes a big impact on others!
Sadly, we get confused and think we have to accomplish great things, but God made us to love. Our love for God and others will accomplish plenty! Look at the lives of the saints! They were fearless in being completely vulnerable to God’s love for them and then they went out into the world (or stayed in their convent) and did great things for others!
What is it that is keeping you from giving your whole heart, mind, body, soul, and possessions to the Lord? Do you realize you were made for greatness to be holy because of God’s plan of salvation through His Son for us! We have God Himself in the Holy Spirit in us because we are baptized! Do you realize what great Power of love you have to help you pray, suffer, interpret the Scriptures, and give due to Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection!
Take time to slow down and realize what a great gift God has given you in being alive with an opportunity to glorify Him in your loving actions towards others and in prayer. Wake each morning early to remind yourself who God made you to be and what a great gift of life and love He has given you. You matter and your words matter in many people’s lives. Take time to slow down and be present.
Jesus resurrected and all He said is Truth or He did not resurrect and He is a radical liar claiming to be one with God. Jesus forces us to make a decision and then live our lives being transformed by Him. Otherwise, we have no identity, no mission and purpose. We have no hope for a better future or of a place where there is a loving Father. There is no love without God. We did not create ourselves and there is no self-made man or woman in the Church. We are created to be loved and to love.
Today’s challenge: Believe that Jesus is one with the only God and He came to save us. Dedicate yourself to Him by praying to Him without ceasing, invite Him into every part of your life, receive Him daily if possible in the Eucharist, visit Him in the Adoration chapel and keep Him company, ask Him to help you understand Him better and love Him more, sit at His feet every day and learn from Him to prepare for His arrival during Lent.
Be a servant, be a saint today!
