“I CANNOT DO ANYTHING ON MY OWN; I JUDGE AS I HEAR, AND MY JUDGMENT IS JUST,BECAUSE I DO NOT SEEK MY OWN WILL BUT THE WILL OF THE ONE WHO SENT ME.” JN 5:17-30
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
It is brave indeed for One to say He is One with the Father. Who has walked the earth and said, “I am one with the heavenly Father”? Yep, only Jesus. Many have worshiped the One true God, but no one dare claim to be equal. Once again, Jesus is either a radical liar or equal to the Father. I smell Truth of a Trinity here.
Jesus talks about judgment today. I like to change my mind sometimes. Some people change their mind a lot. I like to make decisions and some people have a hard time making decisions. With Jesus, there is something we must make up our mind on. The fact that we will die, be judged by Jesus, and go to heaven or hell for all of eternity (that is a long time by the way). God is love and merciful, but also just.
In the Rich Man and Lazarus parable, Jesus warns us that the after life is eternal states that cannot be changed. The Father gave us life with intellect and free will. Freedom or a free will exists for the sake of love, because love cannot be forced. We were created to be holy and without blemish before the foundation of the world, but the Fall took place and we inherited a loss of holiness. The Father then sent His Son to redeem us with His blood, and through baptism we have the first installment of our salvation in the Holy Spirit. We have everything we need to be holy and love.
The Father has given us time to learn how to love in this kindergarten of heaven on earth. A short 70-80 years if we are granted a full life. We will die. We will be judged. ”For just as the Father has life in himself, so also he gave to the Son the possession of life in himself. And he gave him power to exercise judgment, because he is the Son of Man.”
In your heart, have you really made the decision to allow Jesus to completely rule your life? Me either. It is time to make that decision, we do not get second chances after we die and death is immanent. Most importantly, there is nothing more that God wants but to have His cherished creation come back to Him. He loves you more than you love yourself. He wants you to be a saint more than you want it yourself, to be with Him for all eternity. He wants you to know His Will. SO LET HIM LOVE YOU!
Today’s challenge: Reflect on the 4 final things, death, judgment, heaven, hell. It’s your choice, God has already done the legwork by giving us His Son, now it’s time to believe. Give yourself to Jesus totally and completely and allow Him to love you, His greatest desire.
Be a servant, be a saint today!
