Prayer Prompt before reading JN 6:44-51 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“THE BREAD THAT I WILL GIVE IS MY FLESH FOR THE LIFE OF THE WORLD.” JN 6:51

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

“I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” Jn 6:44-51

God is found in communion. God is joy and we are a result of Him overflowing with joy. We are a result of love. Love wills the good of the other and does something about it. God is love and ALWAYS wills our good. Adam and Eve broke this joy by not trusting, so God set out to reconcile Himself with His creation. He does this through a sacrificial meal. The Old Testament sacrificial meal comes to us at Passover.

God instructed Moses and the people to eat bitter herbs (to remind them of their bitter slavery) and unleavened bread (they were in a hurry to get away so they did not have time to let the bread rise), and a roasted lamb (daubed the blood on the doorposts so the angel of death would pass over their homes). God later feeds them with manna in the desert.

The new sacrificial meal or new Passover is Jesus Christ. Isaiah prophesies that “He will be like a sheep led to slaughter.” Today, Jesus teaches us He is the bread of life and we must eat His Flesh to have eternal life. Jesus has made a host for us everyday. Go to Mass as often as possible and be in full communion with God. This is the way God has chosen to give Himself to us from the Last Supper until He returns.

Most importantly, as Bishop Robert Barron puts it, “Jesus just wants to be our friend. He wants to set around the supper table and have a great conversation.” The supper table is the altar, God calls all of us together to it each Sunday, and Jesus feeds our souls for the journey. Thank you, Jesus!

Today’s challenge: Allow Jesus to be your friend! Talk to Him every day about everything. There is nothing more that He wants than to be your best friend. How do you develop a friendship? Spend time with them. Find a place to make a habit of spending time talking to Jesus and learning about Him in the Scriptures. Read one of the 4 Gospels all of the way through. It will only take a few minutes each day of your time and it might be the biggest conversion experience you will ever have.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tell us that whoever believes will have eternal life with Him. If we choose to not believe, we won’t have a good relationship with the Father. If we trust in God, we will have a good relationship with Him. We need to let God take the wheel. That means we need to trust in his plans for us. If we do, we will be with Him in paradise!

God wants us to go to Mass and be with Him forever!
    “whoever believes has eternal life”
He doesn’t want us to be by ourselves in this life and He wants us to believe. God is “the living bread that came down from heaven” and He will always be no matter what!

We can’t always just be doing the bare minimum and expect to be great. If someone were to not practice basketball, how could they be like Mike? This is exactly what our faith is. If we don’t pray every day and make it a habit of showing others just how much you love Jesus, we won’t make it to heaven. So pray today that we can all practice our faith like real Catholics.

I really like this Gospel because it gives closure. If someone close to me was struggling with believing in the real presence I would tell them to read this passage. It states “I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.” He tells us that he IS the bread of life, those who believe will have eternal life. Whenever we receive communion, we are 10x closer to God than we are everyday, we are receiving him. When we receive communion, we need to remember the real meaning of it, its not a symbol, its the flesh of Christ.

Jesus is the bread of life. Whoever seeks him will find him, not that you will see him but hear him and know him. The only thing Jesus wants of you is to have a relationship with him. A relationship with no communication, that is only one sided is not a relationship at all. Jesus calls us to be apart of a relationship with him but if we do not truly seek him out of everything there is no relationship or eternal life. And there will be a time when there is no going back no second chances.

In today’s reading it really stuck out to me that God is found in communion, he is the bread of life that was given to us to save us from the dead. Whoever eats my flesh will not hunger, whoever drinks my blood will not thirst. This shows how God loves you and how he sacrificed his body for you to eat. God is love and he is joy. This is the bread that comes down from heaven and if you eat it you will not die. Share the gift of communion with those that you love with your whole heart. Whoever eats my flesh will live forever and never be hungry again up in heaven. God is love and he will always be good with his heart. Let him be your friend because he has saved you. Have a good rest of your day!!! God loves you so much!!! God Bless!!! Viva Cristo Rey!!

In today’s Gospel, it talks about how if you eat the bread that came down from Heaven will have eternal life. You eat the bread of life and you while have eternal life in Heaven with God. Now that is one heck of a promise, yet he stills goes through with it. Though back then, people thought he meant literally. Literally eat his flesh and you will live forever on earth. NO! He means take his trust and love and follow him to the ends of the earth. He loves you and that will not change, don’t take it for granted.

We must always put work into our faith. If we are okay with being just okay and working half effort how can we expect to be the best in our faith. If we stop putting effort into our faith we fall away and get worse in our faith.

Jesus is saying that God the Father invites people to follow him, and this faith is a special gift rather than something you do on your own. He calls himself the “bread of life,” meaning he is the food that gives you life, unlike physical food that only keeps you going for a little while. By believing in him and receiving him, you are connected to God forever and will be raised up on the last day. Basically, Jesus is saying he is the only one who can truly satisfy your soul’s deepest hunger and give you everlasting life

“The bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” I feel like I have heard this a lot, and whenever I open my Bible randomly, it opens to this page. Throughout the Bible, in all the gospels, Jesus is shown – because He is – as a giving and selfless man. He gave up His flesh both literally and figuratively for us, at Calvary when He died and daily in Church for our souls. He gives the world something so pure and many people still do not take it or they abuse it.

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever” this stuck out to me the most our of everything because I believe this was telling me that Jesus had came down from heaven to scacrifice his live for you and me and so we could be able to go to heaven one day.

In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us that in order to understand Jesus we have to believe in him. He has come to save us, to give us the living bread of eternal life so that we may have eternal life. We must believe the things that Jesus is saying to us so that we are ready for when he comes.

Today in the Gospel Jesus instructs us to receive the Eucharist and believe in him. If we do not receive the Eucharist or believe in him, we can’t go to heaven.

In today’s Gospel anyone who ti the bread of life will have eternal
life and parish with jesus forever. And Jesus is also performing one
of his greatest miracle turning the bread and wine into
the really living flesh of the lord that will save humanity.

What I got from today’s reading and Gospel is that you have to center God in your life because if you listen to him and read of the scriptures you will go to him. If you have something else in the center of your life you will go to it more than God. To see who the true God is we have to be of God.

Today’s Gospel is really powerful in my opinion. Jesus is saying that He is the only way to the father. The way, which is the inspiration of this website, is Jesus and today he tells us just that very plainly that He is the way to the father. We can only be Holy with him we need him and He loves us. That alone should give us inspiration to live our lives boldly for him as the saints did. Although we might not travel thousands of miles we can still evangelize in our lives each and every day. We can preach through both word and deed proclaiming Christ wherever we go just the early Christians did. The ones who were called The Way.
