Prayer Prompt before reading JN 6:44-51 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“THE BREAD THAT I WILL GIVE IS MY FLESH FOR THE LIFE OF THE WORLD.” JN 6:51

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

“I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” Jn 6:44-51

God is found in communion. God is joy and we are a result of Him overflowing with joy. We are a result of love. Love wills the good of the other and does something about it. God is love and ALWAYS wills our good. Adam and Eve broke this joy by not trusting, so God set out to reconcile Himself with His creation. He does this through a sacrificial meal. The Old Testament sacrificial meal comes to us at Passover.

God instructed Moses and the people to eat bitter herbs (to remind them of their bitter slavery) and unleavened bread (they were in a hurry to get away so they did not have time to let the bread rise), and a roasted lamb (daubed the blood on the doorposts so the angel of death would pass over their homes). God later feeds them with manna in the desert.

The new sacrificial meal or new Passover is Jesus Christ. Isaiah prophesies that “He will be like a sheep led to slaughter.” Today, Jesus teaches us He is the bread of life and we must eat His Flesh to have eternal life. Jesus has made a host for us everyday. Go to Mass as often as possible and be in full communion with God. This is the way God has chosen to give Himself to us from the Last Supper until He returns.

Most importantly, as Bishop Robert Barron puts it, “Jesus just wants to be our friend. He wants to set around the supper table and have a great conversation.” The supper table is the altar, God calls all of us together to it each Sunday, and Jesus feeds our souls for the journey. Thank you, Jesus!

Today’s challenge: Allow Jesus to be your friend! Talk to Him every day about everything. There is nothing more that He wants than to be your best friend. How do you develop a friendship? Spend time with them. Find a place to make a habit of spending time talking to Jesus and learning about Him in the Scriptures. Read one of the 4 Gospels all of the way through. It will only take a few minutes each day of your time and it might be the biggest conversion experience you will ever have.

“THE BREAD THAT I WILL GIVE IS MY FLESH FOR THE LIFE OF THE WORLD.” JN 6:51. Something that stood out to me about this is that Jesus is saying that the bread he gives us is not bread but his flesh of the world.

This is saying that we not only need to act like a Catholic, we need to believe in Jesus and his teachings.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tell us that whoever believes will have eternal life with Him. If we choose to not believe, we won’t have a good relationship with the Father. If we trust in God, we will have a good relationship with Him. We need to let God take the wheel. That means we need to trust in his plans for us. If we do, we will be with Him in paradise!

God wants us to go to Mass and be with Him forever!
    “whoever believes has eternal life”
He doesn’t want us to be by ourselves in this life and He wants us to believe. God is “the living bread that came down from heaven” and He will always be no matter what!

In today’s Gospel, Jesus talks about His flesh being the bread of life. We eat this bread every week during Mass. He gave His flesh so that we can live with Him forever in heaven.

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever” This stuck out to me in the gospel today because it reminds us that the sacrament of communion is the greatest and most special sacrament we can receive.

We can’t always just be doing the bare minimum and expect to be great. If someone were to not practice basketball, how could they be like Mike? This is exactly what our faith is. If we don’t pray every day and make it a habit of showing others just how much you love Jesus, we won’t make it to heaven. So pray today that we can all practice our faith like real Catholics.

Jesus gives a strong and compelling speech in the Gospel today. He talks about how he is the bread of life and that He came down from heaven for the purpose of bringing salvation to the hearts of as many as possible.

I really like this Gospel because it gives closure. If someone close to me was struggling with believing in the real presence I would tell them to read this passage. It states “I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.” He tells us that he IS the bread of life, those who believe will have eternal life. Whenever we receive communion, we are 10x closer to God than we are everyday, we are receiving him. When we receive communion, we need to remember the real meaning of it, its not a symbol, its the flesh of Christ.

Today’s Gospel talks about how, Jesus is the bread of life. If you do not believe in him, you will not have eternal life. He is the way of life. The way of eternal life. Follow him and you will never suffer again.

Jesus is the bread of life. Whoever seeks him will find him, not that you will see him but hear him and know him. The only thing Jesus wants of you is to have a relationship with him. A relationship with no communication, that is only one sided is not a relationship at all. Jesus calls us to be apart of a relationship with him but if we do not truly seek him out of everything there is no relationship or eternal life. And there will be a time when there is no going back no second chances.

It was telling me to go to mass almost every day when I’m able to go, and take in God’s body.

In today’s reading it really stuck out to me that God is found in communion, he is the bread of life that was given to us to save us from the dead. Whoever eats my flesh will not hunger, whoever drinks my blood will not thirst. This shows how God loves you and how he sacrificed his body for you to eat. God is love and he is joy. This is the bread that comes down from heaven and if you eat it you will not die. Share the gift of communion with those that you love with your whole heart. Whoever eats my flesh will live forever and never be hungry again up in heaven. God is love and he will always be good with his heart. Let him be your friend because he has saved you. Have a good rest of your day!!! God loves you so much!!! God Bless!!! Viva Cristo Rey!!

In today’s Gospel, it talks about how if you eat the bread that came down from Heaven will have eternal life. You eat the bread of life and you while have eternal life in Heaven with God. Now that is one heck of a promise, yet he stills goes through with it. Though back then, people thought he meant literally. Literally eat his flesh and you will live forever on earth. NO! He means take his trust and love and follow him to the ends of the earth. He loves you and that will not change, don’t take it for granted.
