PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD SO THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM AGAINST THE TACTICS OF THE DEVIL. EPH 6:10-20
Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 13:31-35: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Read EPH 6:10-20
What is the greatest piece of armor a person can use against Satan? Humility, “of the earth”, “you are dust and to dust you shall return”, basically it means God is God and we are not. Envy entered the world through Lucifer. He was the most powerful angel, but he didn’t accept himself for who God made him to be and he wanted to be more. He wanted to be God and have all of the power.
How much has wanting to be in control and have all of the power over a situation messed up relationships in your life? How many times have you tried to control another person in your life? It doesn’t work. A person tries to make themselves God when they do this. So, where does a person start to fight Satan and these temptations of power? Get baptized and seek the Truth! Seek Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who is Truth. Receive Jesus in the Eucharist and humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done, not my will be done).
Ask Jesus for an increase in Faith! I believe (which begins in a person’s heart), therefore I pray, and through the gifts of the Holy Spirit I received: knowledge, understanding, wisdom, fortitude, fear of the Lord and counsel I have come to know who God is, who I am, and what my mission and purpose are. It is a difficult battle wrestling with God about every life situation. It is a difficult to go to the depths of hell and fight Satan.
It is a difficult battle to let go of sin that chains us and overcome the sin we hate. It is difficult reading and reflecting for hours on Scripture and spiritual books seeking Truth and the answers to life’s toughest questions. The result, peace. Friendship with God. Perfect love that has no fear, St. John says. Put on the armor of God and fight! Your soul’s entire future depends on it and a Father who wants nothing more than you to be safe in His arms is waiting.
Read LK 13:31-35
Jesus tells us on the third day “I accomplish my purpose”. He is frustrated because the highest of the chosen people are blind to God’s love and so many prophets have been sent by God to help them. Jesus is in front of them speaking about the kingdom of God and performing miracles and they still do not believe he is God, above all, in all, and “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”.
Jesus is not afraid of any human ruler. The roman rulers were called gods, lord, savior. There is only one God, Ruler, King of Kings, Lord, Savior, and Messiah, Jesus Christ and His love will never end.
Today’s challenge: Love-be obedient, sacrifice what you want for someone else, give without receiving anything in return joyfully, help someone who cannot help you back. Love never ends, requires sacrifice, and will be the biggest regret on your death bed if you do not do it enough.
Be a servant, be a saint today!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once, we will live again!)
I think that God is trying to tell us to not be like scared of people and just do what you are going to do because no one can stop you from doing that. He is also trying to tell us that he loves you.
In today’s reading and gospel the spoke of putting on the armor of “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood
but with the principalities, with the powers.” I took a lot from this it means trust in the Lord for his armor is the strongest against the demon the devil.
Jesus wants us to listen to him. He loves us, and he wants what is best for us. People often think that they know what is best for them, and they can be in charge. but Jesus wants us to know that we can’t do it on our own. We are not God. God knows what is best for us, and we need to listen. It’s hard trying to give yourself to Jesus because it feels good to try to control something, but it almost always fails. So give yourself to Jesus! Trust in him.
Don’t try to control other people, control yourself, and worry about yourself. Stop worrying about what other people have to say about YOU or YOUR faith in God or theirs, your faith means a lot more to you than it does let them make fun of you for it. So go out and stop worrying about what other people have to say or think about you, and you’ll always have God on your side always in the right moments in your life.
‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose. Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day, for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.’
When Jesus says this, I believe he foreshadowing about the Ascension where he is seated at the right hand of the Father, on the third day
In today’s Gospel Jesus shows us that He is not afraid of Herod and the other people who want to kill him. Instead, He says that he will preach and heal people today tomorrow and on the third day He will accomplish his purpose.
Today Jesus asks us to put on the armor of God to get away from the devil’s tactics. To do this we need to have Faith in God. Some of this armor was when we got baptized because God branded us with a mark that can never be taken away. Every Sunday we receive the Eucharist which is filled with Jesus which is more. When we go to Confession we git rid of our sins and become closer to God.
Jesus does not fear the rulers on earth because He is the ONE ruler of the earth, he has nothing to be afraid of no one will ever be Jesus. Jesus is all good and only good and that will never change because he is the only one who will ever be a perfect king or ruler. We will never be as good as him but we are all trying to be like him, as in we are all trying to be good and to try and spread his word and make him known. Jesus is ALL GOOD and that will never change He had nothing to fear or be worried about because He is the only real King and Savior.
In this todays scripture it says “Jesus is not afraid of any human ruler. The roman rulers were called gods, lord, savior” Jesus is not afraid of anything. he wants us to be not afraid of sharing the Gosepl and showing our love for Christ. eek Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who is Truth. Receive Jesus in the Eucharist and humbly submit your will to God
Something that I got out of this was that even though the pharisees and king Harrod were threatening to kill Jesus, he was not scared. He stayed put in Jeruselem even though he had a chance of getting stoned, and dying, and that is something that we should all try and complete in our life. To not be scared of being a Christian, and in fact do the excact opposite, because we never know when Jesus is coming back, so think like it is the last day, and be the best version of yourself.
In the gospel today it talks about it being hard to let go of sin. It’s harder to turn to God because of the commitment. People are scared of what is going to happen. When they follow the devil they can do whatever they want and it seems good in the moment but they aren’t thinking about what is going to happen after all of it is over. That’s why I think it’s so hard for Leopoldo to turn to God.
IN the book of Ephesians, Paul talks about the armor of God and it is really awesome that our faith is able to protect ourselves from the arrows of lies. No matter what we are in battle. Some of us are ready and some not, God is willing to help those who are ready to take the word out into the battle field for victory. All the saints had to do this, but they had something that was more important which involves dying for Christ. They died from their team in victory, in our battle we face struggle of temptation, sin, and having faith In Christ. It’s hard to accomplish it and finish it, but in the end we need to know that trusting in God is the only way we can find our peace and happiness. So let us walk out there in the armor and fight for t Heaven against all the evil spirits that want to bring me down. For I have the sword of spirit, faith as shield, and righteousness as a breastplate. God sent us down to proclaim the good news in which we are apostles/ Evangelists. We have to decide if we win the battle for Christ and if we deserve to get into Heaven.
In today’s Gospel these words stuck out to me “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”
I think this means that if we pray to the Lord then we will be blessed.
These words mean a lot to me.
Satan brought sin into the world. Satan will always be tempting us with something, But we have Jesus. Jesus is all we need to strive to be holy. Jesus gave us the sacraments to help us avoid sin and bring others around us closer to Jesus
“you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you,
how many times I yearned to gather your children together
as a hen gathers her brood under her wings,
but you were unwilling!
Behold, your house will be abandoned.”
God sends us the Holy Spirit and others to help us get to him. We push them away even though God just wants us to be with him in heaven.
Today God wants us to love others. We should be the person God made us to be. We need to ask Jesus for an increase in faith and prayer.
“But you were unwilling!”,he will call you by name and ask if you want to be forgiven. Many people will say yes there should be no reason I should not be forgiven, but very few will say I am not worthy of your forgiveness those who need the forgiveness will be lifted up with the Lord on judgement day and those who want the forgiveness will be cased down with the others like them so do not be unwilling for God’s love,be willing to be loved
Today the reading talks about putting on our armor. I don’t think that they are talking about real armor. I think it is talking about putting on spiritual armor to protect us from the devil. This spiritual armor is the Bible and prayer, especially the rosary because like St. Padre Pio says the rosary is the weapon for these times. This armor is important because it not only protects us from evil but also draws us closer to God. In the Gospel the Pharisees tell Jesus to leave the city because Herod wants to kill him. To this Jesus responds by saying that he heals and saves.
I think that God is trying to tell us to not to be scared of people and just do what you are going to do because no one can stop you from doing that.
Today’s Reading is about how we need to be able to defend ourselves from Satan by “Putting on the armor of God”. We need to do this because God is the only one who can give us enough strength to defeat Satan.
In today’s Gospel some of the Pharisees tell Jesus to leave the area because Herod wants to kill Him. Jesus doesn’t leave and instead tells them to say to Herod “‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healing today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose. Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day, for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.’” He also says “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” and Jesus is the Messiah. We need to believe that Jesus is God and love others like He would love. We should follow Jesus.
“What is the greatest piece of armor a person can use against Satan? Humility”, “of the earth”, “you are dust and to dust you shall return” in to days scriptures it is talking about like being small not wanting to be the center of attention like Lucifer we wanted to be like God and have more power even though he already was a really powerful angle.
“It is a difficult battle to let go of sin that chains us and overcome the sin we hate.” Today I learned that to go to heaven we will need to suffer, to get to Heaven it will feel like hell and to get to hell it will feel like Heaven. It’s going to be hard to stop trying to make the same sin over and over again, but it will be worth it. Sin is something that is hard to not do, because after all everyone sins. Sin is not something we could just get rid of, but sin stick with use until we are dead. The best we could do to try to stop sinning is to just follow God and be a Christ-like person.
Ithink the qoute at the top ¨Put on the armor of God so that yu may stand firm against the tricks of the devil.¨ I think this is very smart and a good way to put it. I think that means that if you beleive in God you can be protected against the tricks of the devil. It can be hard for people to get closer to God and I feel that the farther you are from God the mor4e vulnrable.
I think God is trying to tell me to fight the temptation that the devil is trying to make happen.
This scripture is calling me to embrace humility. We should ask God what to do more. Just realize that if we don’t embrace humility, we arent following Gods word. We should also be more grateful for what we have. We should follow in Gods footsteps.
I think it was trying to tell me to know myself and what other people’s identity!
“PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD SO THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM AGAINST THE TACTICS OF THE DEVIL”I In this scripture God tells us that with his trust we will be able to defeat the Devil.Jesus tells us on the third day “I have accomplished my purpose” this means that his time on earth has ended
”Jesus is not afraid of any human ruler. The roman rulers were called gods, lord, savior. There is only one God, Ruler, King of Kings, Lord, Savior, and Messiah, Jesus Christ and His love will never end.” Jesus is the only God . He is Lord and our savior . Jesus is not afraid of any other ruler . He is the only ruler
God was telling me to allways believe in him. God was also telling me to get the most out of every thing you do.
I think that what God is telling us is that we shouldn’t get jealous of Jesus or anybody in fact because then you would make fun of them which is not good. and to not let sin in the way of your life
Dont always try to worry about what you need to look like or be like. You be you and help others go the right way in life and that will come with humility but it is about being a good catholic person not a Tiktoc person that has no life. That has no relation with God. So you be you and who God says you are and dont fear humility.
Jesus said that He is not afraid of Herod and he will preach, make the blind see, and make the deaf hear. He does not think anyone should try to kill Him, because He was trying to gather His children, and if they do, they should get stoned.
Somehing that stuck with me is that how is one way to put the greatest armor against Satan? humility, the reason I say this is because we always try to control everything but it never goes the way we want it to go and were supposed to just trust in God and know everything will be fine, but Satan wanted to be God have his power so everythime he tried taking down God he couldnt even get past St.Michael the Archangel. We should have humility and know we can’t control what we want we just have to trust in God and know it will be fine.
I think the gospel talks about how no one is God but God. And that God is trying to help is not go into the bad path and just to accomplish our purpose and Jesus is not afraid of any human ruler. The roman rulers were called gods, lord, savior. There is only one God, Ruler, King of Kings, Lord, Savior, and Messiah, Jesus Christ and His love will never end and that Jesus will never envy anyone of anyone on Earth.
What the Gospel told me today is that God is frustrated with humans because we are blind. He has sent prophets and saints and even his own son down from heaven and even then now people still do not believe. He wants us to believe because on the last day the pharaseis tell us that on the last day we will either choose to try to be the higher power or the higher power will be God and we will praise him.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that virtues protect us from sin. We cannot stay away from sin ourselves however. We must put on the armor of GOD not earthly armor. We need God’s help every moment of our lives. If we submit our will to him and love him. He will do great and mighty deeds for US.
In today’s Gospel God talks about how He is not afraid for what Herod can do. He also talks about how we should put on the armor of God and also not fear the devil.
In todays Gospel its telling us that we need to defend who we are and not worry about others but worry about what we are doing doing and defend what we believe in and Satan will always be tempting us to tell people what they are doing and what they need to fix but we just need to put on our amour and protect ourselves
I think Jesus wants us to listen to him and do what he wants and to “gather under His broad wings”. To do what He says is to do what is right and doing it willingly is powerful and amazing.
don’t be scared if someone tells you something that is not right, but do the right thing
Today, Jesus is saying that His work is done. He is going to Heaven, and He will reign the world. He is all mighty and all powerful!!
What I think God is trying to say is no matter what don’t let people put you down do what you do. Put on the armor of God just like he did because he is not scared of hared
Today’s Reading (doing a reflection on the reading) talks about how Satan is one of the most tempting things to listen to because we thing what he says is right but its not. It tells us that God will protect us from Satan and sin, you believe and you shall receive. God is like amore defending us from Satan and sin. God wants us to make it to heaven, but you must do what is wright to accomplish that goal.
Jesus is trying to say that if you’re scared to do something or someone is making you scared. That He is the armor on your body he will protect you if you’re scared. You are putting on the armor of Jesus Christ so if you get hurt don’t be afraid Jesus is right by you’re side and in you to make you less scared.
i think this reflection is telling to really pay attention to the signs God is sending you. That nothing happens by accident or luck, it is always a part of what God has planned for your life.
In today’s gospel what stood out to me was the “armor of God.” I felt like Jesus was saying that we need to be surrounded by things that will lead us to His kingdom. In the gospel it said to pray at every opportunity with the Spirit as well. We use prayer as a shield against Satan. I just felt like the message in the gospel today was that we need to believe in God and keep ourselves in His grace.
I think in the Gospel today God is telling us that in order to see Him we must acknowledge that He is there. Jesus is also telling the Pharisees that he will stay in Jerusalem because he must die there on the cross.
What God is trying to tell me today is that we need to use our faith like a shield. Where we use our faith to protect us against sin and Satan. When we use that shield we must believe in it because if we don’t it wont work.
“Put on the Armour of God that you may stay firm against the Tactics of Evil”. In this world there are many things tempting us in this world. Electronics such as your phone, a computer, a video game, what ever it is it is tempting you. Today there are many christians falling away from Jesus because of temptation. Dont let the devil pluck you from your fathers hand. Just remember the quote ” Put on the Armour of God”.
I think in the reading it tells me that we need to put on our armor against the devil just like God put on his armor. In the Gospel Jesus is telling the people that God will always be with you.
What I think God is trying to tell me is this; the armor of God will help us fight against the devil and all his evil works. The armor of God may not be tangible but it’s like a video game, the more you pray and talk to the Lord the stronger your armor gets and the better you’re able to defend from the devil. We should strive to strengthen our armor through the Sacraments.
Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil. What this meant to me is that we need to put on a spiritual armor through praying and receiving Jesus in the holy Mass. That is what I think God is trying to tell me today.
When it says “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the Devil.”it really sticks out to me.
I think that we, even though sin is the easiest escape, we need to make the Lord our easiest escape because sin would add kindle to the fires of hell but the Lord would be the extinguisher.
He is saying that we need to clothe ourselves with His word and salvation and the holy spirit. He also said that we always stone the prophets and kill them but He will not come back unless we say ” Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
“There is only one God, Ruler, King of Kings, Lord, Savior, and Messiah, Jesus Christ and His love will never end.” I think God is telling me not to get distracted with everyone and everything else, because he is the highest and greatest one.
He replied, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healing today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose. Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day, for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.’ ” I think that when Jesus was told this, he was hurt from the inside. I can imagine someone, that I didn’t like at the least, telling me that I needed to go and that I shouldn’t be here. I believe that Jesus was trying to tell the Pharisees how they can change and get to heaven. When Jesus says “Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healing today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose.”, he means that he preforms healing not only physically, but also inside our own hearts. When he was crucified, it changed people and made them believe. They then believed that Jesus was really God and man, and they went out to the world to go and tell everyone the truth, so that they too, would believe.
We need to practice believing in God.
I think that God is trying to tell me that if we use our faith as if a shield we will not be harmed. We must try to fight all temptations and to come to God if we don’t fulfill his wishes. But if we do not try to come to God we will feel his wrath and we must try to keep away from Satan
“Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm” This stood out to me because, the armor is like a shield against the devil to protect ourselves. But sometimes, we put down the armor and let Satan take over us, whcih results in sin. It’s hard to not sin, but in some cases where we feel so tempted to do something, we need to confidently put that shield up and stand up against the devil.
The only way to shield ourselves from the devil is with God. His armor can protect us from the temptation of Satan. It ca keep us in check and help us stay safe. It also keeps us on the road to Heaven.
I think Jesus is saying that he was and was never afraid of Herod he knew that he was gonna do some bad stuff to him but God wanted it because he wanted to die for us; show us not to be afraid of nobody don’t stand down Jesus will always take the cross and carry it for us until we get to heaven.
We need to embrace our selves and be humble. We need to embrace our selves as Christians and Followers of God
The main thing I am getting is that we are all human and that means we are not perfect so don’t act like you are . God is the only perfect one so know that and try your best to immate him.
In the scripture it says “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.” I think this is saying that God is always there for us against the devil, so that we can live with him in heaven.
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” I think this means that we, as followers of Christ, are blessed. We need to share the gospel to all over the world, even when they want us to stop.
Today’s Reading is about how we need to be able to defend ourselves from Satan by “Putting on the armor of God”.Jesus is also telling the Pharisees that he will stay in Jerusalem because he must die there on the cross.Jesus wanted His apostles to spread the Gospel.Everyone was saying he was not the King;but God knew once he rose from the dead that it would show that Jesus is the true king.
In today’s Gospel, we hear that Jesus says to the Pharisees “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose. Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day,for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.” Meaning the Jesus is saying that the power of God is stronger than everything.
in todays Gospel Jesus is told to leave and he says that his mission is not over yet the fact that he said this to the pharisees is crazy but this shows that God is in control he knows that the time has not come and so he will wait and nobody will stop him he is all divine and we must bow down to our king for he created us and the world.
Jesus is trying to tell us that no one is God except God him self. The Devil tries to tempt us, and bring us away from Jesus. We need to grow more in love with Jesus each day. It’s not just an automatic thing. We need to work for it.
“What is the greatest piece of armor a person can use against Satan? Humility”, “of the earth”, “you are dust and to dust you shall return”
This stuck out to me because its saying that humilty is the greatest thing we can use against Satan, we can use the gospel to spread the word of jesus christ to discriminate Satan
In Today’s gospel, Pharisees came to Jesus and said that he needs to leave because Herod wants to kill him. Jesus said beck that they need to tell Herod that he will stay in Jerusalem and continue to perform miracles. I think that we need to be more like Jesus and not be afraid to do something because of our faith.
What I got from this was that Jesus is far far far more stronger than anyone on earth. He does not fear them because He knows he is way more powerful and Holy than them. Just as he knows, we also know that we should not fear any human. We should only fear God and Jesus. They are all powerful and all mighty. No one on earth is.
In today’s reading, It talked about how we should put on the armor of God to defend ourselves from Satan, sin, and temptation. When we put on the Armor of God, we are protected from Satan because God will always protect. We shouldn’t be afraid of Satan and death, but instead we should be happy because God is giving us life and he will protect us.
PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD SO THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM AGAINST THE TACTICS OF THE DEVIL. I think that “the armor of God” is prayer. When we pray, the devil is scared of us. God is stronger than the devil, whenever we say God’s name, the devil is weaker. As long as we trust and pray to God, the devil won’t be able to hurt us.
What is the greatest piece of armor a person can use against Satan? Humility, “of the earth”, “you are dust and to dust you shall return”, basically it means God is God and we are not. Humility is not what I thought would be the strongest armor against Satan. I thought it would be like believing in God. It makes sense why it is. Humility is understanding that you aren’t why you are on earth. God is why we are here today. It is like a test to see if you understand how and why you can go to Heaven. We are here to try our hardest to get to heaven.
To me I was getting that God will always protect us. Even though it seems like he isn’t, he has a plan and loves us so much. God loves us so unconditionally that he gave up his only son to die on the cross. We just need to always trust that he protects us and that he will always love us: which he does.
“He was the most powerful angel, but he didn’t accept himself for who God made him to be and he wanted to be more. He wanted to be God and have all of the power.” this honestly really stuck out to me because, some of us want more. More money, more fame, more popularity, more stuff that pulls us further from God. God made us to act like how we act, to look how we look, To live our life how its supposed to. We shouldn’t be changing anything for the worse but instead for the better. because we all wanna change something about ourselves. like our appearance.. but is that what God wants? instead we should try and change ourselves to Love more.
“Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.” God is trying to tell us that we need him to fight off the devil. The devil wants to try to tempt us into doing what’s not right. God wants us to get closer with him, so we can do the right and not the wrong.
Jesus is told to leave Jerusalem because Harrod wants Him killed, but Jesus says no. He talks to the Pharisees that told him to leave about how Jerusalem, which was seen as this mighty place, has killed all of the prophets sent to them. Then He foreshadows His own death when He said “for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.”
I think God is saying that if we believe in him and pray daily we will get the ” armor of God and be protected by the devil” which means we will be protected by God and be safe from the devil
Satan is telling us to do the wrong things but we have to put on that big piece of armor and that armor is God.
I think that the gospel is trying to say is that, people want power. They just want to be the strongest. That’s why a lot of people are greedy. We don’t need to be strong, we need to be wise and follow God. Just like how a boy killed a giant with a slingshot and a rock.
” St. John says. Put on the armor of God and fight! ” this Line stuck out to me because personally what I feel God is trying to tell me is that I can always trust in him no matter what! he is always there for me and I can always feel safe because of him.
In today’s scripture is part of the gospel stuck out to me “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.” I think that is mean that you needed to have God with you to not let others get to you. You put on the armor to stand up against the devil and not like him get to you have just have God with you.
Jesus wants us to listen to him. People often think that they know what is best for them or what they are doing is right and sometimes it is but we also need to listen to God and do what he is telling us to do. We can’t live this life alone we need God to be with us and sometimes we forget that and we just try and do everything alone so we need to start allowing God to join in and help us make decisions.
Ask Jesus for an increase in Faith! I believe (which begins in a person’s heart), therefore I pray, and through the gifts of the Holy Spirit I received: knowledge, understanding, wisdom, fortitude, fear of the Lord and counsel I have come to know who God is, who I am, and what my mission and purpose are.Knowing what your mission is can help you in the future because it will tell you what to do and when to do it.
“Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the Devil.” “Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose.” This both stuck out to me in the Gospel and the first reading. God is telling us that he is the only one that can protect us from the devil. God is out protector. He loves us so much and does everything he can for us to show that love for us.
This gospel talks about power and how Lucifer thought more of himself than of God. “You are dust, an dust you shall return” basically means that God is our ruler and we aren’t a ruler over God. God gave us the choice of free will as long as we are able to make time for Him. The problem is that we don’t know how to run back to our heavenly father. We must remember that love is the most powerful thing. That’s why Jesus states to love your enemies as yourself, since we love ourselves more than our enemies.
I think Jesus Is trying to tell that our faith in Him is stronger than an evil thing against. Use faith as a shield against anything evil. Even faith as small as a mustered seed can move mountains. If You have faith in God nothing can destroy you.
I think in today’s Gospel Jesus wants us to not be afraid of anything. Even when times are bad you need to be brave and push through it.
Jesus wants us to learn to love him as much as he loves us. He doesn’t want us to be ignorant to his promises and wishes and he just really wants the best for us. We need to put on the armor of God’s strength, salvation, and sinlessness.
“I yearned to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were unwilling!” Jesus himself wishes he could gather and preach to all people from all nations but people don’t let him. Often times people come to him with a closed mindset and don’t open up to what the true word of God is really telling us. Making them almost “ungatherable.” Everyone can be saved but we all need to come to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit with an open mind and heart.
I think Paul is trying to say just trust in God and he will not fail you. Put on the armor of God, it is like getting baptized and receiving the the body of Christ. defend yourselves against the devil and his temptations.
And I also think that Jesus is like “I can help you try to stop the devil but you have to be willing to let me help”.
God is almighty and he will protect us and help us. We need help to get out of the pit of sins that we have dug for ourselves. God is who can help us. He is the one who will get us to heaven and there is no way to heaven except through him.
“Children, obey your parents [in the Lord], for this is right.” Sometimes its really hard to tell if what our parents are saying is useful to us or not, they try their best but we are all humans, and everyone makes mistakes. With this knowledge it can really be hard to trust anyone, because no one can really tell the future. Our parents are older than us however and wiser, so we have to lean on what they say and figure it out with them.
Today in the Gospel Jesus is telling me to die for him. When the Pharisees want him to leave town because they are afraid he might get killed, Jesus says no. He doesn’t care if they kill him because he is going to stay in his town and continue to preach. Jesus is not afraid of death because he knows where he is going. So, let us be a follower of Christ so that when our time comes we are confident that we will enter the Kingdom and be with him forever.
“Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the Devil. For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers.“ What I get from this reading is that the devil will attack us and we need to have God ´ s help. Sometimes we are tempted with sin and do not know how to deal with it and try to deal with it by ourselves, but dealing with it as our own flesh and blood does not do any good when God is the one who can save us from sin. God is not here for no reason but to help us and we need to start asking for help rather than trying to do everything on our own like we do not need him.
I love today’s first reading because it’s such a good representation of what we have to do, spiritually, to battle the constant barrage of our society today. I feel like our world has become less violent in a physical way but a lot more violent through words and sometimes that’s the worst kind of battle. The one that tears you apart from the inside out. So I think in this reading you should know that you need to guard your mind and heart to keep them pure and kind. You have to look at the world differently and know that it is a broken place but that you were put here for a reason and you can mend it bit by bit when you put on the armor of Christ and fight for others and their faith, along with yours. And always remember that we are not of this world, you possess more power than you think and you can really do great things through him. You just have to say yes to his fight and let him win your heart.
“Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the Devil.” This is in a way, both a warning, and advice. Paul is telling us to be ready for ‘battle’. When we confidently put on the armor of God, we become invincible. Nothing more can hurt us. But we need to make that action of trust by putting it on, acting in God’s love and trusting that He will take care of us.
the scripture told me that we must stay strong and not fall into Satan’s trap. Satan is constantly trying to get us to go against God and do what he wants not what God wants. Satan believed he was as powerful as God and wanted to become Him, he was jealous of Him. Envy is one of the deadly sins and envying others can cause you to fall away from God, so we must ignore Satan and turn to God.
I think God is trying to tell us to ” Put on the armor of God” and to help those who need God’s love and mercy today.
In today’s 1st reading God is telling us to put on your spiritual armor for him. This reminds us every day is a battle against Satan and we must be prepared.
Therefore, put on the armor of God,that you may be able to resist on the evil dayand, having done everything, to hold your ground. This stuck out to me in the reading, because to me it means that we need to try and resist sin as much as possible. Just like Jesus was tempted in the dessert. Everyday we talk about our phone or the Bible, and in class we say our Bible. But outside of class what are you really thinking.
what I understood was that every day we get up from bed you put on you armor of God this armor is not any old armor it is protecting you from satan it like reflects the things satan is trying to tell you and it leads you closer to God.
“In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all the flaming arrows of the Evil One.” This stood out to me because to me it means through every bad thing Jesus is always there for you and even in rough patches of your life you should always keep your faith and go to church. Your faith will save you from bad situations and help u achieve a good mindset.
When the scripture says “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil”. Never feel alone when trouble comes. Put on the armor in which God has given to you to protect yourself all of the evil’s of this world, and if we do we will not do what is bad or be protected from what is bad.
I think God is trying to tell me to trust in him. We need to put the armor of God on and believe. It would help us against sin and the devil.
Jesus says that the best piece of armor against is Humility. In today’s he also says that “I accomplish my purpose”.
I think God is trying to tell us and to fear no man but God and don’t be scared .
Today Jesus says that he will gather his disciples up on the last day butt most are unwilling. When those who don’t believe say the name of Jesus he will gather them up too.
I feel like God is telling me that I need to do good things if I want to go into heaven when I am judged.
What I think God is saying is that we should always turn to him because he is there for us always he will always be there in the good and in the bad and on the third day all who did not believe believed in him and everyday he is with us leading us to do what is good for the world.
I think He is trying to tell me that I need to be strong and not let the devil control me or tempt me and that I need to not try to fall in his trap to hell or to do bad things that are sins he is telling me to keep and follow his faith and to try not to sin. He is telling me to pray more so I don’t fall in to Satan’s trap.
I think what God is trying to tell us here today in the first reading is that we should stand firm against sin, temptation, and satan, by avoiding our best the seven deadly sins and inheriting the virtues and gifts of God and the Holy Spirit, to fend ourselves from evil. We should put on the armor of God every single day, as every single day is like a roaring and raging battle against you and satan.
In the Gospel today, Jesus talks to the Pharisees about him not leaving, even though Herod plans to come and kill Jesus, for Jesus will continue to preach the Gospel and perform miracles. Likewise, satan is coming every day to try and lure you away from God, but you must stand firm and continue your long expedition to Heaven and perform good deeds.
I think that today in the Gospel it says “Put on the armor of God”. That sticks out to me because Jesus is telling me not to feel afraid. The Gospel also tells me that I should be strong and powerful. We should not listen to Satan, he just wants to lead us into his trap, but we should stay strong like Jesus taught us! This an amazing piece advice gives us because all God wants to do is to protect us from evil. But we also have to put some work in us too! To believe in God as our Savoir! God is our almighty father. Jesus of Nazareth PRAY FOR US! Have a Good Rest of you day!!
I think God is trying to tell us that control another persons life doesn’t work and we need to “Seek truth Seek Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who is Truth. Receive Jesus in the Eucharist and humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done, not my will be done).” How the scripture said “Envy entered the world through Lucifer” stuck out to me because its saying that jealousy is wrong and instead of trying to be like other people you should love them.
