PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD SO THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM AGAINST THE TACTICS OF THE DEVIL. EPH 6:10-20

Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Prayer Prompt before reading LK 13:31-35: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

Read EPH 6:10-20

What is the greatest piece of armor a person can use against Satan? Humility, “of the earth”, “you are dust and to dust you shall return”, basically it means God is God and we are not. Envy entered the world through Lucifer. He was the most powerful angel, but he didn’t accept himself for who God made him to be and he wanted to be more. He wanted to be God and have all of the power.

How much has wanting to be in control and have all of the power over a situation messed up relationships in your life? How many times have you tried to control another person in your life? It doesn’t work. A person tries to make themselves God when they do this. So, where does a person start to fight Satan and these temptations of power? Get baptized and seek the Truth! Seek Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who is Truth. Receive Jesus in the Eucharist and humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done, not my will be done).

Ask Jesus for an increase in Faith! I believe (which begins in a person’s heart), therefore I pray, and through the gifts of the Holy Spirit I received: knowledge, understanding, wisdom, fortitude, fear of the Lord and counsel I have come to know who God is, who I am, and what my mission and purpose are. It is a difficult battle wrestling with God about every life situation. It is a difficult to go to the depths of hell and fight Satan.

It is a difficult battle to let go of sin that chains us and overcome the sin we hate. It is difficult reading and reflecting for hours on Scripture and spiritual books seeking Truth and the answers to life’s toughest questions. The result, peace. Friendship with God. Perfect love that has no fear, St. John says. Put on the armor of God and fight! Your soul’s entire future depends on it and a Father who wants nothing more than you to be safe in His arms is waiting.

Read LK 13:31-35

Jesus tells us on the third day “I accomplish my purpose”.  He is frustrated because the highest of the chosen people are blind to God’s love and so many prophets have been sent by God to help them.  Jesus is in front of them speaking about the kingdom of God and performing miracles and they still do not believe he is God, above all, in all, and “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”.

Jesus is not afraid of any human ruler.  The roman rulers were called gods, lord, savior. There is only one God, Ruler, King of Kings, Lord, Savior, and Messiah, Jesus Christ and His love will never end.

Today’s challenge: Love-be obedient, sacrifice what you want for someone else, give without receiving anything in return joyfully, help someone who cannot help you back.  Love never ends, requires sacrifice, and will be the biggest regret on your death bed if you do not do it enough.

Be a servant, be a saint today!

I think that God is trying to tell us to not be like scared of people and just do what you are going to do because no one can stop you from doing that. He is also trying to tell us that he loves you.

In today’s reading and gospel the spoke of putting on the armor of “Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood
but with the principalities, with the powers.” I took a lot from this it means trust in the Lord for his armor is the strongest against the demon the devil.

Jesus wants us to listen to him. He loves us, and he wants what is best for us. People often think that they know what is best for them, and they can be in charge. but Jesus wants us to know that we can’t do it on our own. We are not God. God knows what is best for us, and we need to listen. It’s hard trying to give yourself to Jesus because it feels good to try to control something, but it almost always fails. So give yourself to Jesus! Trust in him.

Don’t try to control other people, control yourself, and worry about yourself. Stop worrying about what other people have to say about YOU or YOUR faith in God or theirs, your faith means a lot more to you than it does let them make fun of you for it. So go out and stop worrying about what other people have to say or think about you, and you’ll always have God on your side always in the right moments in your life.

Today Jesus asks us to put on the armor of God to get away from the devil’s tactics. To do this we need to have Faith in God. Some of this armor was when we got baptized because God branded us with a mark that can never be taken away. Every Sunday we receive the Eucharist which is filled with Jesus which is more. When we go to Confession we git rid of our sins and become closer to God.

Jesus does not fear the rulers on earth because He is the ONE ruler of the earth, he has nothing to be afraid of no one will ever be Jesus. Jesus is all good and only good and that will never change because he is the only one who will ever be a perfect king or ruler. We will never be as good as him but we are all trying to be like him, as in we are all trying to be good and to try and spread his word and make him known. Jesus is ALL GOOD and that will never change He had nothing to fear or be worried about because He is the only real King and Savior.

Something that I got out of this was that even though the pharisees and king Harrod were threatening to kill Jesus, he was not scared. He stayed put in Jeruselem even though he had a chance of getting stoned, and dying, and that is something that we should all try and complete in our life. To not be scared of being a Christian, and in fact do the excact opposite, because we never know when Jesus is coming back, so think like it is the last day, and be the best version of yourself.

In the gospel today it talks about it being hard to let go of sin. It’s harder to turn to God because of the commitment. People are scared of what is going to happen. When they follow the devil they can do whatever they want and it seems good in the moment but they aren’t thinking about what is going to happen after all of it is over. That’s why I think it’s so hard for Leopoldo to turn to God.

IN the book of Ephesians, Paul talks about the armor of God and it is really awesome that our faith is able to protect ourselves from the arrows of lies. No matter what we are in battle. Some of us are ready and some not, God is willing to help those who are ready to take the word out into the battle field for victory. All the saints had to do this, but they had something that was more important which involves dying for Christ. They died from their team in victory, in our battle we face struggle of temptation, sin, and having faith In Christ. It’s hard to accomplish it and finish it, but in the end we need to know that trusting in God is the only way we can find our peace and happiness. So let us walk out there in the armor and fight for t Heaven against all the evil spirits that want to bring me down. For I have the sword of spirit, faith as shield, and righteousness as a breastplate. God sent us down to proclaim the good news in which we are apostles/ Evangelists. We have to decide if we win the battle for Christ and if we deserve to get into Heaven.

Today the reading talks about putting on our armor. I don’t think that they are talking about real armor. I think it is talking about putting on spiritual armor to protect us from the devil. This spiritual armor is the Bible and prayer, especially the rosary because like St. Padre Pio says the rosary is the weapon for these times. This armor is important because it not only protects us from evil but also draws us closer to God. In the Gospel the Pharisees tell Jesus to leave the city because Herod wants to kill him. To this Jesus responds by saying that he heals and saves.

It’s going to be hard to stop trying to make the same sin over and over again, but it will be worth it. Sin is something that is hard to not do, because after all everyone sins. Sin is not something we could just get rid of, but sin stick with use until we are dead. The best we could do to try to stop sinning is to just follow God and be a Christ-like person.

Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day, for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.’ ” I think that when Jesus was told this, he was hurt from the inside. I can imagine someone, that I didn’t like at the least, telling me that I needed to go and that I shouldn’t be here. I believe that Jesus was trying to tell the Pharisees how they can change and get to heaven. When Jesus says “Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healing today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose.”, he means that he preforms healing not only physically, but also inside our own hearts. When he was crucified, it changed people and made them believe. They then believed that Jesus was really God and man, and they went out to the world to go and tell everyone the truth, so that they too, would believe.

We need to practice believing in God.

I think that God is trying to tell me that if we use our faith as if a shield we will not be harmed. We must try to fight all temptations and to come to God if we don’t fulfill his wishes. But if we do not try to come to God we will feel his wrath and we must try to keep away from Satan

“Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm” This stood out to me because, the armor is like a shield against the devil to protect ourselves. But sometimes, we put down the armor and let Satan take over us, whcih results in sin. It’s hard to not sin, but in some cases where we feel so tempted to do something, we need to confidently put that shield up and stand up against the devil.

In today’s Gospel, we hear that Jesus says to the Pharisees “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I accomplish my purpose. Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day,for it is impossible that a prophet should die outside of Jerusalem.” Meaning the Jesus is saying that the power of God is stronger than everything.

Just as he knows, we also know that we should not fear any human. We should only fear God and Jesus. They are all powerful and all mighty. No one on earth is.

PUT ON THE ARMOR OF GOD SO THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STAND FIRM AGAINST THE TACTICS OF THE DEVIL. I think that “the armor of God” is prayer. When we pray, the devil is scared of us. God is stronger than the devil, whenever we say God’s name, the devil is weaker. As long as we trust and pray to God, the devil won’t be able to hurt us.

Humility is not what I thought would be the strongest armor against Satan. I thought it would be like believing in God. It makes sense why it is. Humility is understanding that you aren’t why you are on earth. God is why we are here today. It is like a test to see if you understand how and why you can go to Heaven. We are here to try our hardest to get to heaven.

He wanted to be God and have all of the power.” this honestly really stuck out to me because, some of us want more. More money, more fame, more popularity, more stuff that pulls us further from God. God made us to act like how we act, to look how we look, To live our life how its supposed to. We shouldn’t be changing anything for the worse but instead for the better. because we all wanna change something about ourselves. like our appearance.. but is that what God wants? instead we should try and change ourselves to Love more.

God gave us the choice of free will as long as we are able to make time for Him. The problem is that we don’t know how to run back to our heavenly father. We must remember that love is the most powerful thing. That’s why Jesus states to love your enemies as yourself, since we love ourselves more than our enemies.

“Children, obey your parents [in the Lord], for this is right.” Sometimes its really hard to tell if what our parents are saying is useful to us or not, they try their best but we are all humans, and everyone makes mistakes. With this knowledge it can really be hard to trust anyone, because no one can really tell the future. Our parents are older than us however and wiser, so we have to lean on what they say and figure it out with them.

For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers.“ What I get from this reading is that the devil will attack us and we need to have God ´ s help. Sometimes we are tempted with sin and do not know how to deal with it and try to deal with it by ourselves, but dealing with it as our own flesh and blood does not do any good when God is the one who can save us from sin. God is not here for no reason but to help us and we need to start asking for help rather than trying to do everything on our own like we do not need him.

I love today’s first reading because it’s such a good representation of what we have to do, spiritually, to battle the constant barrage of our society today. I feel like our world has become less violent in a physical way but a lot more violent through words and sometimes that’s the worst kind of battle. The one that tears you apart from the inside out. So I think in this reading you should know that you need to guard your mind and heart to keep them pure and kind. You have to look at the world differently and know that it is a broken place but that you were put here for a reason and you can mend it bit by bit when you put on the armor of Christ and fight for others and their faith, along with yours. And always remember that we are not of this world, you possess more power than you think and you can really do great things through him. You just have to say yes to his fight and let him win your heart.

Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the Devil.” This is in a way, both a warning, and advice. Paul is telling us to be ready for ‘battle’. When we confidently put on the armor of God, we become invincible. Nothing more can hurt us. But we need to make that action of trust by putting it on, acting in God’s love and trusting that He will take care of us.

I think what God is trying to tell us here today in the first reading is that we should stand firm against sin, temptation, and satan, by avoiding our best the seven deadly sins and inheriting the virtues and gifts of God and the Holy Spirit, to fend ourselves from evil. We should put on the armor of God every single day, as every single day is like a roaring and raging battle against you and satan.

In the Gospel today, Jesus talks to the Pharisees about him not leaving, even though Herod plans to come and kill Jesus, for Jesus will continue to preach the Gospel and perform miracles. Likewise, satan is coming every day to try and lure you away from God, but you must stand firm and continue your long expedition to Heaven and perform good deeds.

Receive Jesus in the Eucharist and humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done, not my will be done).” How the scripture said “Envy entered the world through Lucifer” stuck out to me because its saying that jealousy is wrong and instead of trying to be like other people you should love them.
