“FOR BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.” LK 17:20-25
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come,
Jesus said in reply,
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
Then he said to his disciples,
“The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
There will be those who will say to you,
‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’
Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.
For just as lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other,
so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” LK 17:20-25
Jesus answers a question today that is always a heavy topic, when will God’s Kingdom come. Jesus answers, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” He also remarks, “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Finally, in MT 20:28 Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always to the end of the age.”
What does this mean? We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now (Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always. God is everywhere all of the time.
I teach 100 yards from the “Kingdom of God” on earth in the tabernacle and monstrance in perpetual adoration. Amazing! He continues to offer Himself up for us and stay with us. He is with us in prayer and when we say “Come, Holy Spirit”.
How do I know? The Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Spirit in all baptized people guiding the Church and us individually, in the sunrise and sunset, the mountains and oceans, the stars, moon, and sun. Most importantly, because He said so and I believe and trust Him.
How does a person build trust with someone? I spend time with God everyday and listen in the silence. He speaks to me when I read His Word. I go to Mass where He handed down the most intense encounter a person can have with Jesus. God can’t lie. I do and everyone around me does. So, I trust Him. He is my unchanging rock in an ever changing world. He is the still point of the cosmos in which I can close my eyes and be completely still and spend time with Him.
Jesus said He must suffer greatly predicting His passion. The Catholic Church had the end of the world pegged a long time ago. The world ended when Jesus died on the cross and resurrected conquering sin and death. Our Original Sin has been taken away at baptism and God’s grace helps us to fight our personal sin. We have God’s grace in the sacraments that Jesus set up while on earth, we have the Eucharist and confession, prayer, as we wait for the Second Coming.
God gave us the Holy Spirit at our baptism and said the words, “This is my beloved son/daughter of whom I am well pleased. Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit upon us at our Pentecost which is Confirmation. Finally because of the resurrection of Christ, this life isn’t all there is, there is something greater to hope and fight for. No tyrant has more power than God. God’s love is the most powerful thing in the world and it conquered sin and death. The gates of heaven are open to all including you and I! We are living in the end times with the power and opportunity to be holy each day. It lies within us. Take time to sit in silence and listen to the One who is all holy, the holy of holies, and makes us holy.
Today’s challenge: Take time to pray and think about God not far away but right here with us always, it makes a huge difference in the way we view things and live our life! God is with us (Emmanuel), wow! If you can wrap your mind around God’s true presence at Mass and in the Blessed Sacrament, you will be at peace and never want to leave.
Be a servant, become a saint!

“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed” as much as we know about God we also don’t know a lot of stuff about the afterlife and what will happen on the last day, so I think we should treat every day like its our last, witch means being helpful and kind to everyone like you would want people to do for you.
A part that stuck out to me was when Jesus said “behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
I think He is trying to tell us He is always present and always with us. I also think He is telling us to go to mass and find him present in the Eucharist and because that is his house He is always there.
Today the gospel says to me that we must not be distracted but be ready for the coming of the kingdom. Jesus says “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed.” This is because it is already among us we just cant see it. God is with us and our guardian angels are with us. If we choose to listen because we cannot see we will hear him talking to us. Our God loves us and he is with us we just have to choose to be with him.
Today Jesus says we cannot see the kingdom of God, thats not what its for its for us to believe we are taught that our faith is based off belief even though we know he is truly there. The things we see are only the things he wants us too see of his kingdom, iike the Shroud of Turin, if God didn’t want us to find it would have been never found. But he did want us to see it because it was a gift to strengthen our belief.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This phrase stuck out to me because Jesus is saying that we cannot see the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is all around us. We need to recognize it and preach about God and His kingdom. We need to tell others about this and help them to believe in them too.
we are the children of God the Father and to become closer to him we must listen for Jesus.
I need to talk more to him because i haven’t as much as i need to. As of we need to respond back to God and to trust him with our future. For whatever i planned for us under the guidance of Gods hand.
My favorite part of scripture was, “What does this mean? We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now (Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always. God is everywhere all of the time.”
It really just shows how God can pursue you towards him it just depends on yourself, “do I listen or ignore him?” You either think hes a really old man or you truly believe he is God king almighty creator of Heaven and earth. We need to know who we are in Jesus we just need to discover the reason why is because, (Jesus) It has JesUS, US we are with him always we are apart of him and he is inside all of us. Just remember we will always be with God if we do what is right or wrong he will always forgive.
While I read this nothing really stuck out to me. It didn’t really make sense because i know if someone told me Jesus has risen i would run to where they are pointing and go to him. I think it could be saying that we shouldn’t be in shock when the day comes because we have been waiting for this day for a long time but we knew it was going to come at some point.
I think most of us think of the idea of heaven or God as a distant thing, like how one day we will go to heaven and when we get there we will be in the presence of God because we are finally worthy. But it’s not like that. God is among us right now. He is working through you and me, and everything that is happening right now is done because of him. He is guiding us through this mess of a world filled with distractions, and temptaions, and all this stuff that is creating a wrong mindset for us. God is with us right now trying to guide us. If we just took some time to listen and let God take the wheel, then it would all make sence. But most of the time we don’t trust God, it’s like doing a trust fall with someone you can’t see, it’s hard to trust and believe, but there is great reward if we do.
Jesus tells His disciples that the Kingdom of God is among them but that He must also be rejected and suffer greatly. Jesus is with us everywhere we go. He is with us today in the Eucharist, in the sacraments and in the Holy Spirit that is inside of us baptized people. We are called to guide the Church and we do this because He told us to and we believe in Him. God is trying to tell us things throughout the day and it is our job to listen to Him.
Jesus warns us in an inconspicuous way of the Antichrist. He says that there will be many people saying, “Here! I have found paradise and happiness!” We need to understand that people will try to sway our opinions, and It doesn’t necessarily have to be in matters of faith or spiritual matters. There will always be other views, and the others that follow these views will believe that they are right. They will try to argue with you, maybe get angry, but when we evangelize Christianity, we cannot let ourselves become angry or mad. We need to be calm, and not get defensive. To continue loving the person who we are trying to tell the gospel to, even if they are stubborn or angry. We need to know that others will get defensive, but only because they are not completely sure that their beliefs are correct. They want to be safe in familiarity, and may say to just drop it. They will say this because they do not want to be converted, or persuaded. We just need to be patient, and make sure that we are open to all and kind, and then people will begin to want to be converted.
The Kingdom of God is with us always he is not just an old man in history who died on a cross saying he is the Lord. He is the Father who put us together and made each one of our finger prints different and unique. He is the one who died on the cross because he healed people and did lots of other miracles he died because of the people didn’t like the idea of someone going around saying he is the Lord. But without him we wouldn’t have the earth of galaxy or any people at all because people and the universe don’t just pop up out of no where. If he can just make us so easily He can also be in each one of our hearts every hour of the day listening to every word we and waiting for us to talk to him.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation
this stuck out to me because he’s talking about his death and how he suffer for us but I think we take that for granted we don’t think about it too much only when we have too like for religion class and around the time that he died but why is that we need to think about it ever day not just those times he didn’t die for us to only think about during those times he died so that we can sin and be forgiven so we can get to Heaven and we sin everyday so we need to think about him dying for us every day. So don’t only think about him when you have too think about him 24/7 try to at least.
“Then he said to his disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. There will be those who will say to you, ‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’ Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” LK 17:20-25”
This stuck out to me because I think that it’s Jesus telling His desiples that Satan can lead them off the path of holiness, and that when he does we need to follow Jesus, and God’s path for us when we turn to the devil we turn away from Christ. We need to ignore the devil and open up to Jesus.
We are taught, firstly, in this passage that the kingdom of God is not like the kingdoms of this world. Jesus tells the Pharisees that “it comes not with observation.” He meant that its approach and presence were not to be marked by outward signs of dignity.
What God is telling us here is that we have all that we need to get to heaven but the problem is some of us don’t use it.
The thing that stuck out to me was-“the coming of the kingdom will not be observed”That is because we are all waiting for the kingdome of god to come but we cant see it yet.
This week’s scripture is telling us that God will not come at one moment of time he is already here and always has been and always will be. This part of the scripture stuck out to me because it means God has been there always and seen it all, and made it all.
Jesus said in reply, “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This hit me deeply because It was basically Jesus saying the coming of God you will not know it is happening which is why you must always love God. Don’t run when things get hard because he says that the earth will be as hell for a little. Then the son of God will come down to save us from the earth.
I think something that stuck out to me was that we do not know when Jesus will come back. We do not know when our Lord and savior will come back and all of the Christians that knew him will go to heaven. It could be tomorrow or it could be in 1,000 years. He said,” We will not know the time of day or hour of when he comes back, so we must always be prepared for him.
Jesus did die but he came back not into body form but in spiritual form.God gave us the Holy Spirit at our baptism. He gave us a lot of sacraments to grow closer to him.Everyone think of Heaven differently but it is a place with pain and suffering.Jesus died for our sins and he suffered for us.
Today the scripture said to me that we need to stay focused on Jesus. If we forget to stay focused on him we won’t be in our greatest mind set. When Jesus said “behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” That means that we are also among God and his kingdom we are always with him.
Jesus said,“For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
I think he is trying to tell us he is always with us no matter where we are or what we do. He wants us to sit in silence and block everything out surrounding us and just listen so we can hear him speaking to us.
Today Jesus is telling me that to be able to live we have to suffer a huge amount. As long as we beleive in him he will help us in our times of need, even until we die.“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Finally, in MT 20:28 Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always to the end of the age.”
The meaning of today’s scripture reflection is God is always with us no matter how sad or happy we are. We just need to take the time in silence and we will encounter Him. That is amazing the creator of all things is with you out of billions of people in the world. We need to realize that God is really always with us. Then you will love and know God better than ever before.
GOD is saying that we either believe in him or don’t (Athiest). Hes trying to get us to remember that we are his children and we are part of one faith in the trinity(Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).” We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. ”
“lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other”
When Jesus was alive he was like a human translator ,because he tells us God would say or do, and it is mostly because he is God
Today we hear about what Jesus told his disciples ,”For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” We learn that Heaven isn’t just some far away place that we might get to go to sometime in the far future, but it is a place that is also here on earth. We can see this in the mass, and in the Eucharist, but it is also present in our hearts too. We also know that at some point Jesus will come down again to earth, so we should be prepared when He does.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stuck out to me because it shows that we cannot look for God ´ s kingdom and it cannot be observed like Jesus said but when it is our time for his kingdom it will be there ready for us because Jesus wants us to come and live in heaven with him and the angels.
In this gospel, Jesus is stating that someone will come, suffer, and be rejected. He said that we should one another as yourself and that love is the most powerful thing ever since it stopped sin and death. After Jesus died and rose again, He is seated at the right hand of God, judging whether or not we have eternal life or not. The one and only way into heaven is through love and suffering.
Something that Jesus is trying to tell me is to always be ready. For no one knows when the second coming will be. We have to be ready everyday and live in peace and holiness. We cannot see the Kingdom of God, but we can feel it. When we go to Mass and spend time with Him we can experience Heaven.
In saying “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” He is telling us that it might be difficult going against social norms, but we have to to be able to be with him in heaven.
“Behold the Kingdom of God is among you,” this stuck out to me because the Kingdom really is among us.
Every kind thing we do we get closer. Every time we personally talk to God we don’t just get closer to the Kingdom we also get closer to God.
If we do something kind every day we get closer. If we treat everyday like it will be the day we die, we can do even more kind things and get closer to God. Each day we should try to do at least one kind thing. Whether that is opening the door for someone or cooking dinner for our family, because every kind think we do the more the kingdom of God will be among us.
I think we are being told that Jesus comes in very mysterious ways. Ways we will not observe easily. He wants us to be ready at all times for the kingdom of God to come down for us. We cannot be easily distracted by social media, what people think about us, and objects that will not go with us to heaven. On top of all of this, most importantly, we have to be kind and love others. That is one of the most important things Jesus taught us when He was on Earth so many years ago.
It stuck out to me when the passage said “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” It is talking about how the generation Jesus was in, and all the generations to now , wont want to accept Jesus. We put other things before God and Jesus, like sports, school, friends, and electronics. We need to make time for God and keep him as our Lord.
When the pharisees asked when the kingdom of God will come Jesus replied it will not be observed saying that no one will know when it will come, and it will come when it is time. Later on he also says ”But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation” and that is him talking about his death and that for some reason makes me think that he knew all along what would happen and we can’t take for granted all he did and suffered for us to open the kingdom of heaven.
A part that stuck out to me was, “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce” I think that this is telling us about the second coming. The Kingdom of God will come to us, but no one knows the exact time. We should try to be holy at all times so we are ready. We need to not be distracted by other worldly things.
In the Gospel today, God tells us that we need to stay faithful for when he comes. It will be hard sometimes but we always need to try as much as we can even when others choose to not believe or listen to God.
When Jesus comes we will not know, but we must always be ready and anticipate him because he could come at any second.
Jesus says that the Kingdom of God cannot be announced or proclaimed to you. He also says this is because the kingdom of God is among you, or with you. He tells us you’re never far away.
I think in this reading, Jesus is telling us that the Kingdom of Heaven is not in any specific place or time, but is with us and around us in all that we do. The Kingdom of Heaven is not something that comes, but just something that is.
I think Jesus is telling us that we have everything we need to get to heaven but we need to use it. We need to sit in silence and just let him speak to us.
God is telling us what we need to do to get to heaven ,but most people deny what God has told them to do so most people don’t make it to Heaven
today’s scripture is telling us that no one knows when God will come and take us to heaven. but we do not need to know because God is always with us
we are to suffer in this world and we are then rejected from this generation that has been handed down to us into paradise. we have been rewarded with such great gift that we barely even know it, it takes so much understanding to figure out how physically God’s love can be. Jesus is telling us the good news in scriptures that has been written down by the apostles, we should all be apostles. we are always constantly being reminded with scriptures and then we go out and shout it from the mountain and valley.we are to not run away for he has called our name and brought us to eternal life.
God is trying to tell us he will always be with us even though you think he isn’t. Jesus is always with us.
Today’s gospel tells us that there will be a time when Jesus is is not physically with us on earth and there will be people who will be skeptical that he ever was, but he tells us that we must know r\that he is always with us.
God tells us that we need to stay faithful for when he comes. And that we need to be ready for him. And that if we aren’t focused on him we wont be in our greatest mind set.
When Jesus says “The Kingdom of God is among you.” but then he also says “But he first must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” What I think this means is that in every generation throughout history the Catholic faith has, in some way, shape, or form, been rejected and renounced. Yet God tells us that he is among his people despite all of this and he will come again to save us even though our world is broken.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed” I think this means that we will never know when God will open the gates of heaven to the people of his son Jesus.
what I think Jesus is trying to tell me is don’t be afraid when he comes to save me. Jesus doesn’t want us to be scared he wants us to be happy he is coming back. I know Jesus would love to be with us again but he knows that not many people are coming with him. he knows this generation isn’t as close to him as they should be and he wants us to stay close so he can love us in heaven. when Jesus comes I believe everyone will go crazy and think this is so amazing and they should and God wants us to stand there and stare in awe at the amazing gift he had just blessed us with.
That is crazy that heaven is among us all. “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” The living God is right next to us. He is awaiting us. He is waiting for us to listen and welcome him in our hearts.
We can not see or observe the kingdom of God for the kingdom of God is among us. We must stay faithful for when the kingdom of God is here we need to be ready. God will be by our side. Every time we sin we hurt him and get further away from the kingdom of God. We need to believe in him even when we are struggling or going through a hard time.
Jesus says ” The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed.” We can study God all we want and know the Bible by heart, but there is no way to know exactly when Jesus will come. We need to be ready when it does. We don’t get a warning that he is coming so we have to be actively preparing for it always. You can’t put off trying to get closer to God. Jesus could come at any time.
In this scripture i think that God is trying to tell us that God and Jesus are with us at all times. In the best moments of our life and in the worst moments of our life, God is always in this, around us and around everything we love and hate. God will never not be with us, no matter what the circumstances are.
“The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. In todays gospel I think Jesus was trying to tell us that our day will come. I think Jesus is saying that Satan can lead them off the path of holiness and what he does but we need to follow Jesus and that when he does we need to follow Jesus, and God’s path for us when we turn to the devil we turn away from Christ. We need to ignore the devil and open up to Jesus.
Today the scripture said, We cannot see the Kingdom of God, but we can feel it. When we go to Mass and spend time with Him we can experience Heaven.
We cannot see heaven. It is not in the sky, or underground, but it’s everywhere. There is no “one point” where heaven is but it is among us. Around all of us everywhere.
“Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.” when God gives us heaven, we must accept it, not run after it greedily. he will give it to us, and we must not be greedy. Some people my dad knew actually commited suicide so they could see heaven, but they were wrong. God has a plan for us, and who are we to refuse that. we must welcome god into our homes with open arms.
In today’s Gospel he warns us of Revelation, In the book of Revelation, the Anti-Christ come before Jesus. Leaving people to say there he is and start to follow him, but in doing this you have chosen hell. When Jesus comes again we will know, so you just have to listen for when hes coming. No one knows when it will happen, but its getting closer that’s all we know.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” Jesus is telling us that Heaven is around us. We don’t know when we will die and when God Himself will decide if we get to Heaven or not. We can’t just sit around and expect God to just let us into Heaven. We have to work hard to sin less and go to confession more so God can forgive our sins. We need to pray harder and spend time in silence with Him. We need to be followers of Christ and do as He did. We did not create ourselves God did. He chose us so now we need to choose Him.
What Jesus is saying today is that the Kingdom of God will appear to you someday, but you will not tell the world when it’s here. When you see it you should not run away in fear but in a opened way to receive the Son of Man eternally. We should always embrace Jesus and not run away from him. He will never not love us and would never turn us down.
god loves all of us, more than we could ever know. we should love him back and we should do what we can to go to heaven.
The Kingdom of God is in our hearts, souls, and minds. It’s closer to us than we think it is. Just because we don’t feel God there doesn’t mean He isn’t there even when we lose hope in Him. It’s normal as a human to have ups and downs in relationships, including our relationship with God.
There are a few thing that stuck out to me.
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.
God is telling us that he is the Messiah. He is the one that we’ve been searching for. God came down to the earth to bring the Kingdom of God to us. Jesus is our ticket to Heaven.
For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.
When God comes back he will come back in glory. At the end of times, everything will be terrible and there will be no positive untill God comes down and lifts us up. He will resurrect the dead and lift up the poor. God is our everything.
God is with us always. Why would he leave us to sin when he suffered and died to save us. We can talk to him at any time because we can always trust him to open his arms and just listen. To fall back on Jesus is to put our trust in him. We should always trust him because he is always there for us.
Jesus in today’s scripture is prophesying his own passion. telling them that his kingdom is not someplace you can go but rather someplace Jesus will take you at the end of your days. telling us that rather than looking over and saying “look here” or “look there” it will be among us spiritually, and we get a glimpse of it every time we go to mass. It is not always easy to pay attention for that long so we must imagine and read along in the missile.
I think this is telling me that our time will come and we need to repent to him and grow a relationship with him to have everlasting happiness
What I think Jesus is trying to tell me is that He is here in the present and that no matter what He will be here for me. He wants me to come to him. He doesn’t want me to give up on my faith. He wants me to stay with Him and not listen to what other people say about something or someone else.
“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” I feel as though that it can be hard for us to realize all that happens when we sin or turn against God. When we sin we are getting farther from God, and while our back is turned, God is looking directly at us, loving us, calling us. We have our backs turned away and don’t always realize this. Jesus was rejected by many others, even his closest friends at times. Jesus knows how we feel and if we give him our time and love he will care and provide for us. Jesus suffered for us and will do it again if he has to, because of how much he loves us. We should always be aware of when we sin and realize the impact it has.
God does not want you to act like someone your not. He love YOU so very much! He does not want you to be someone you are not.
In today’s reading Jesus tells us that He will suffer. He also tells us where the Kingdom of Heaven is and He tells us it is right here but how can that be? Jesus tells us that it’s right here. Whether that’s in your heart or at mass. Although we don’t see that it is here what Jesus wants us to do is to act like it is here because it is. So in the halls instead of gossiping you could be saying something nice about another person. We also could think of talking to Jesus when we talk to our friends because they have Jesus in them from Mass. When He says that the Kingdom of Heaven he means it is here in all of us.
life is full of bland stuff, Jesus said that God was going to come, but people couldn’t see because the plank in their eye. they couldn’t see the truth. many people are good at lies that can make you feel like it’s real after. Jesus didn’t have that problem, he could see the truth any time he wanted.
Jesus is always with us no matter what even though we can’t see him. We need to be ready for the kingdom of God and when it comes. God is always trying to speak to us throughout the day we just need to stop and listen for him. We are never alone
The thing that stuck out to me was-“the coming of the kingdom will not be observed”. That is because we are all waiting for the kingdom of god.To come but we can’t see it yet.
Jesus told me that I must face Him and that I will know it is Him. But I must also be careful to only follow Him.
Jesus told me that just because the Kingdom of God is not visible does not mean it is not there. The Kingdom of God has always been here but just not visible.
A part that stuck out to me was “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that we need to go to Mass and that he will always be there for us when we need him.
Jesus told me that I must face Him and that I will know it is Him. But I must also be careful to only follow Him. I have to be ready when the Lord calls my name.
This scripture is about how the only way for people to be able to go to heaven is by Jesus suffering for our sins. ¨ But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” This sentence says that before you can enter heaven Jesus must suffer and be rejected.
As catholics, one of our jobs is too make sure that we get to heaven and take as many others with us as we can. In order to do that, we must stay focused on our faith, and not let other things destract, especially the temptation of sin. In order to be able to sepnd eternal life with God, we must be followers of him until our time on the physical earth is done.
Jesus is saying that before the second coming many people will say they are the Christ or someone is the Christ and say different stuff, which is what’s happening today. People are worshiping the wrong things and looking for heaven in the wrong places like Jesus predicted. We need to learn to let go of worldly possessions and what the world says and focus on what Jesus says. The kingdom of God is at hand, repent. Jesus says that before the second coming the world will be terrible, so we need to be ready. We need to not let our human sense guide us cause they lead us to the devil but use what Jesus has taught us as our senses.
“Do not go off, do not run in pursuit”
We should not have to run from God, we should grow closer to him. We should want to see his glory and what he has done for us
How do you build trust with someone? After a while I have learned to build more trust in Jesus, to make him more of a friend than someone that I just worship because my parents take me to church every Sunday and make me say prayers at meals. But that still builds in my head, “How do you build trust with someone?”, to be frankly honest I have no idea, maybe you just like them, or maybe they are someone important in your life, He is both of those and more, so if we start building trust in Him early then it will be much harder to fall away later in life.
Jesus is telling us today that we must be ready for when He comes back. He says that we do not know when he is coming. No one will tell us when. We just simply have to be ready for when He does indeed come back. Jesus says today , “For just as lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other,
so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Foreshadowing His persecution and death. So we must be ready for Jesus, and He will be ready for us.
“The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.” I like this since it is saying that you may not be able to see it but you may feel it. There are 3 options Hell, Purgatory, or Heaven everyone dreams of Heaven but that may not be the reality you may have to wait to go and think of your wrong doings and pray to enter Heaven. It takes faith for everything you want Spiritually it is only if you want to be there Spiritually and will put in work that you will go to Heaven.
in this scripture reflection it talks about when God’s kingdom will come and Jesus answers its all ready with us because God is always with us in our life and that we will be criticized because of religion but we must stay faithful so we can be with God
When will Jesus come again? Lots of people ask themselves this question. Today Jesus tells us that we will not know when He will come again. If we knew when Jesus would come again we’d clean up our act just to be saved and not because we want to spend eternity with Our Father. If you were to die today would you treat it differently than any other day? Would you treat other people differently? We should treat everyone with respect and kindness even if they aren’t your favorite person. God teaches us that the day could come at any hour of any day so we can’t fall asleep. Jesus is calling and we should answer.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us the reality of life. That you have to suffer to be with him. Even though He did not make suffering nor does he want us to suffer. That is the only way we can be with him. We as Christians are going to be persecuted. We are going to face hardships for God. We will be questioned for our faith. We will even question our own faith. All of the right decisions that we make in our lifetime here on earth will be rewarded to us in heaven.
we are never alone and some of us dont recognize that and we need to no matter what hardship your facing he will always be your guide.
the kingdom of God is here. no one can see the kingdom, for it is spiritual. it is amoung us battling agaist the forces of Hell and we don’t even notice it. they battle to save us from hell. for God is our King, and all he believe in him shall not perish. If we believe in Him, we will be saved.
here again, Jesus prophesies his death, and yet still, the disciples were shocked when it happened. they all believed that they had lost him, that he couldn’t come back. they thought, perhaps he was not actually the Son of Man, even though these prophesies should have been there proof.
“first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” this stuck out to me because it’s saying that life isn’t easy. In order to be happy and be loving you are going to have to go through pain, suffering, and rejection.
“FOR BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.” LK 17:20-25. This is very true because we can at any moment can see jesus
I think God is trying to tell us that the Trinity is always with us whether we believe or not.
“The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.” God has already come to this Earth. The people did their job preparing for Jesus our Lord and Savior. We now need to do our part. We need to pray and prepare for heaven.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stood out to me because God tells us that we need to be ready for him. Prepare for his coming be ready for when he will. We have to be in our right mindset to prepare for the Lord and never give up on him.
we are to suffer in this world and we are then rejected from this generation that has been handed down to us into paradise. we have been rewarded with such great gift that we barely even know it it takes so much understanding to figure out how physically God’s love can be. Jesus is telling us the good news in scriptures that has been written down by the apostles we should all be apostles.
“We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now” This means a lot to me because i see what this means. i understand it.
That is one of the most important things Jesus taught us when He was on Earth so many years ago.he Kingdom of Heaven is not something that comes, but just something that is.God has told them to do so most people don’t make it to Heaven.
God is trying to tell us that he will always be with us, and never leave our side. He loves us very much. Whether we sin badly or have a clean soul, God will always be with us until the day we die.
“For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stuck out to me because it is saying that God is with us and he is any and everywhere, and that we, are the kingdom of God for we are his creation.
We don’t know the day or the hour when Jesus Christ will come back for us so we must be ready. We can only get closer to Jesus by telling the truth and coming to Him with your problems so he may fix them and make the better than ever before. When you give God your pains and sufferings he gives you His strength in return to power you up. God is the all powerful one and there is no way to do anything without Him knowing. There is no way to escape His love so, embrace it and cherish that you have someone more powerful on your side to protect you and empower you when you feel weak.
I ffel like the words “Then he said to his disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you
will not see it. There will be those who will say to you, ‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is. ’Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. ” mean that when youwant something and it is there infront of you, you should not go off and get it. We need to have self control.
God said to get ready and prepare for him when he comes back.
“For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other” To me this demonstrates Gods power showing that he is the king of kings, the Almighty, The Lord of lords and many other great names he has It also is like lightning flashes really fast and so you need to be ready when he comes because it could be very fast so stay awake!
In today’s reading the lord says ” the kingdom of god is among you” of course at that time people would be very confused so he states that the kingdom of god must be cast down out of this generation for the doors to be opened. I believe the lord is trying to state that know mater what you do he will always love no matter what. ALL PRAISE THE LORD.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
What stuck out to me in this was ” For behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” I think that is means is that the kingdom of God heaven is close to us and we need to try every thing we do to get there because God wants to be close to us in his kingdom.
In this scripture to me God is trying to tell us that he is always here for us and that whenever we do something he will always still love us. We have to trust in Him because He is the thing that will guide us into his kingdom of heaven.Whenever we do something wrong He is with us and He will always be by our side.
“behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stuck out to me because, God is telling us that anywhere or anytime we could die and go to heaven
¨The coming of the kingdom will not yet be observed.¨ Is what stuck out to me. Jesus has came to save our world once and he loves us so much that he would do it again. He knows every single thing that will happen to us as well as every single that has happened already. Jesus knows our future and what our world will become. God has a plan for you and everyone else even the people who have commit mortal sin. God loves everyone and stays strong for us and our future.
This scripture is telling me that we cannot be afraid of whenever Jesus comes again because it shouldn’t be scary. He wants us to be prepared for when He does come so that we wont have to worry.
I think Jesus is telling us that God is always with us even if the situation you’re in is good or bad. We can go see Jesus when we go to Mass, we can receive Jesus during communion. “FOR BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.” This part struck me because even though we can see or feel Jesus, He will always be us and He will be with us forever, even if we die.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed” I think Jesus is trying to say that it is unknown when the Kingdom of God comes.
Jesus is saying that we can not visibly see the kingdom of God they reason we can’t is because it is already around us and it is with us we just can’t see it until you come to judgement day
