Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot,
went to the chief priests and said,
“What are you willing to give me
if I hand him over to you?”
They paid him thirty pieces of silver,
and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over.
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread,
the disciples approached Jesus and said,
“Where do you want us to prepare
for you to eat the Passover?”
He said,
“Go into the city to a certain man and tell him,
‘The teacher says, “My appointed time draws near;
in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with my disciples.”‘”
The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered,
and prepared the Passover.
When it was evening,
he reclined at table with the Twelve.
And while they were eating, he said,
“Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
Deeply distressed at this,
they began to say to him one after another,
“Surely it is not I, Lord?”
He said in reply,
“He who has dipped his hand into the dish with me
is the one who will betray me.
The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him,
but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed.
It would be better for that man if he had never been born.”
Then Judas, his betrayer, said in reply,
“Surely it is not I, Rabbi?”
He answered, “You have said so.”
Judas betrayed Jesus for about $300 in today’s money. Judas and our sins put Jesus on the cross. What we must realize is that our sin is not what hurts Jesus but it distances us from Him. That hurts because He gave all to bring everyone together as a family. Sin hurts us and the people around us. It’s all about relationships. Jesus was betrayed by one of His closest followers. Oh, how much it hurts when we are betrayed by one of our closest loved ones and friends.
God wants our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. He is all in. He gives all. He is forever faithful. He is love-it’s all He can do. Love wills the good of the other. God ALWAYS wills our good. If anything bad happens to us, it is a result of sin. His love is a sacrificial love which brings forth a new life for us to live free of sin and death forever with him in heaven. A free sacramental gift of Himself that transforms us. What is something you have given all to? What were the results? Now, think about what would happen if you do this in your spiritual life with God who has the power to heal, save, raise, and love.
Today’s challenge: Ask for forgiveness to those you have betrayed. This Holy Week go all in with God and see what happens. Worry less about money, power, pleasure, honor, and more about your soul.
Be a servant, become a saint!

Jesus always knows what is best. He knows that Judas will turn Him in, but He doesn’t try to stop him because He knows that it is His will to die for us.
“and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over.” Judas thought he was smart and sneaky in handing over Jesus, but Jesus is all knowing and he called out Judas, telling him when to do it. We cannot hide things from God, and we should not wish to hide anything from him.
I think this is saying that our sins hurt Jesus, it’s like us betraying him like Judas did. We’ll skip Sunday Mass to go to a sports event, or because we’re lazy. This is like Judas trading in Jesus’s life for a mere $300. Jesus wants our hearts and He wants us to love Him. We just need to step up and give him the love and grace he wants for us.
Today, Jesus teaches us more about betrayal. Judas betrayed the Savior of the World for money. So too is it easy for us to get distracted by worldly things, and to not put God at the center of our life.
This tells me we need to put more trust into God we Always put things before him because we think other things are more important than him. God has given us everything we have know and yet we never give him time and are always doing stuff for ourselves.
What I took away from this gospel is we have to try and make our relationship with God last. God doesn’t come after us, we have to come after him. We have to chase him if we want him in our life. God won’t chase us because he wants us to choose him, choose the right way. We can’t fall off the PATH just of because one thing, God wants us to come to him. It’s just the matter of what we think is right, that sways us off or on to the right path.
Judas handed over the King of Kings for a very small price. As Jesus said, the man who is willing to do that should have never been born. Humanity is so fallen that one of us would sacrifice our creator and Lord for a small amount of money. The only way we are able to rise from our brokenness is through Jesus. His death is what gives us life.
We need to stick with God through our whole lives. Judas didn’t. Instead he got greedy and took his relationship with God away just for some money. In today’s world we can’t get rid of God for money but we can fall away from God by earthly thinks like money, games, and technology. We need to control our time with the things that can make us fall away from God and the things we need to stay with God.
In today’s gospel, Jesus tells the disciples that one of them will betray Him. Instead of causing a big deal out of this, Jesus accepts God’s will for Him. He does not hold a grudge or get angry, but He instead treats his betrayer with forgiveness. Help me to be like Jesus, and love and forgive people who I have betrayed.
Jesus was handed over for about $300 in today’s money by his friend Judas. It is horrible to be betrayed by someone especially by one of your friends. Jesus was ready for this and whatever would happen to him. He died on the cross for the sake of our sins.
Judas gave up Jesus for 30 pieces of gold. he let the devil overtake him with greed. We must not let sin over take us. Judas stopped believing in Jesus and that is how the devil enters. If are faith in Jesus is strong and we stay true to his word, not even the Devil can brake the bond. The devil will still tempt you but you will have Jesus on your side to fight it.
Judas betrayed Jesus for only 30 pieces of silver. Is Jesus even worth 30 pieces of silver? No, he isn’t even worth any money. Judas just sold his best friend to be killed. It’s like someone wanting your best friend dead, and you are agreeing to selling your best friend just for 30 pieces of silver to be killed. That is what Judas agreed to do.
Most people betray other when they think the reward is better. But what is a worse punishment than knowing you betrayed someone they love. It could be a best friend, a family member, or someone you trust. Betrayal shatters trust. Even the smallest actions can change how someone looks at someone else. The smallest words can shatter trust. Yet even somethings- no matter how long it takes- can bring back trust. Betrayal is like a poisoned box of chocolates; it looks good at first, but it isn’t. Love can heal, but words and actions show who we truly are.
Jesus is so great and he can make many things happen.
In todays reading Jesus again accepts seems to accept his cross. During the last supper Jesus tells Judas to, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, The teacher says, “My appointed time draws near; in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with my disciples” I think this shows that Jesus knows his time is coming and is setting an example of perseverance for us. By doing this it shows he has humbling commented himself to his father for our lives and sin.
When Judas betrayed Jesus I didn’t hurt Him. What it did was distance Judas from Jesus. When Jesus died Judas hung himself because of the guilt. He could have asked for forgiveness. It is always important to forgive those who have wronged you. Because you will grow closer to God.
The scripture is talking about us betraying and we we betray our friends and family it means that we did something bad and when they betray us then they did something that they were not suppose to do and when our family and friends ask us to do something as in a helping way then we should listen to them and help them.
In the Gospel Jesus says that one of them will betray him and they’re all trying to figure out who it is. When we’re in a situation where we don’t know who is lying and who is not. We need to take it slow and stay calm. Jesus didn’t go and yell at them who might betray him. We need to figure it out in a calm way.
In this Gospel Judas betrays Jesus. Jesus knows our hearts. Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray Him. Jesus knows everything. In this Gospel He tells the disciples to go to a certain house so that they could eat Passover. We should also not let money corrupt us like how Judas was corrupted by 30 silver coins.
In today’s scripture we read how we need to be ready for God. We need to be going to church, adoration, confession, and receiving the Eucharist as much as we can. God has been warning us He is coming so we need to be ready for Him when He does come.
What reached out to me was when it said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?”. What this means to me is that during moments when we know what we might be doing is a sin it’s never too late to turn back. When you know you didn’t finish that assignment and you’re about to tell your teacher it’s done, it’s not too late to turn back and tell the truth.
We betray Jesus every time we sin against Him. He gave up His life for us, but we betray Him like when Judas betrayed Him. He tries His best to help us when we are falling apart from Him.
Judas was so eager for the money he would have been paid that he forgot about Jesus, and he betrayed him. We can take this as an example of wanting things we don’t need, we often search for what will make us happy by buying things. But true happiness will come only when we put our trust in Jesus Christ who died for our sins.
In today’s scripture, Judas is denying that he will betray Jesus. However, it is not in the same way that Peter will when he denies it on the spot, but Judas has planned this. Not only that, but he has basically sold Jesus for 300$. The fact that he still asks Jesus if he will is sickening, but Jesus not stopping him but instead forgiving him in the end is truly admirable.
Judas betrays Jesus. Judas betrayed Him for money, MONEY, that is crazy to me. That just shows how selfish we truly are. Judas and our sins put Jesus on the cross. He had to suffer because of us. When i think about that i thing it is terrible that we did that to our savoir. We need to think about what He did to deserve it, the answer is NOTHING, because he didn’t deserve it but because we are so wrapped up in this world we didn’t even realize what we did.
This Scripture is talking about when Judas betrayed Jesus and it like instead of keeping Christ the King alive Judas decide to give him away for money for 30 pieces of silver instead of being by Jesus Son of Man Judas gave him away like it was nothing and when Jesus says one of you will betray me Judas say “Surely it is not I, Lord?” when Judas know that he was the one who betrayed him, he gave him away like nothing he did´t even hesitate.
In today’s scripture we read how we need to be ready for God. We need to be going to church, adoration, confession, and receiving the Eucharist as much as we can. God has been warning us He is coming so we need to be ready for Him when He does come. The real question when He does come back is are you ready and if you aren’t you need to be trying harder.
Betraying the son of God is never something you should think of doing let alone doing it for only 300 dollars. Jesus had given Judas so much but he was blinded by his desire for money that he didn’t realize the consequences of his actions.
What stood out to me was, “WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE ME IF I HAND HIM OVER TO YOU?” It stood out to me because we are supposed to give our lives away to God and God will love and care for us and He will always forgive us. Love one another as I have loved you.
We should not betray Jesus like Judas. No money is worth betraying God.
“It would be better for that man if he had never been born.” Jesus is telling us that it would be better to not be born than to let the one and only God our savior die. That may seem harsh but at the same time, it is true. I know that I know that I would rather not be born than making the Lord die. Lets try everyday to make decisions that will bring the Lord to life in the places where he may not be the most powerful for us.
Judas betrayed Jesus, we should not do this. When we sin we are distancing ourselves from Jesus. Jesus knew he was going to die for our sins, and he still did it even though it would cause him pain. When we sin we are hurting both ourselves and Jesus.
“What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” In this I feel like it is saying that Jesus is worth 30 peices of silver. Jesus is worth so much more than that. It is sad to see people don’t realize it.
Judas betrays Jesus in the gospel today for 30 pieces of silver. Have you ever “betrayed” someone? Turned in a friend for something you did as well. Have you told someone a secret that a friend doesn’t want anyone to know? Try not to betray people, because it hurts. A lot.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that we should not betray Jesus, and put material goods over Him. Instead of focusing on objects, we need to focus more on God and on our faith.
What I took away from this gospel is we have to try and make our relationship with God last. God doesn’t come after us, we have to come after him. We have to chase him if we want him in our life.
This gospel is saying that God has no worth. He is beyond money. His worth is His incredible love and grace for us.
Judas agreed to turn in Jesus for his own personal gain. They told him if he turned in Jesus he would get 30 pieces of silver. 30 pieces of silver, to turn in God himself. That’s just crazy. Money is nowhere near as wonderful as God. But Judas still turned him in, because he thought of himself.
“What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over.” Judas was full of greed. He wanted money over God. Judas betrayed Jesus and they both knew it, but Judas was trying to play it off as if he didn’t just trade the life of the Son of God for 300 dollars. Judas gave us an example of one of the seven deadly sins. Greed.
Jesus was betrayed by someone He trusted. He knew that he would betray Him but still loves him. If we do not like someone we should atleast love them. We should be like Jesus in how He loves everyone.
Jesus had someone that He trusted, sell Him to be killed for silver. We need to realize that God is worth more than anything physical that we could have. We shouldn’t betray Him and leave Him but instead come to Him with our happiest days, our lowest days, our sadness, fears, etc. Betrayal is one of the worst feelings that you could feel especially when it’s someone that you trust and they break that trust as if it meant nothing. Jesus was still human and I bet He felt hurt too even though He knew what was coming.
what the scripture is telling me is that we should not betray anyone for anything. when we sin its like betraying Jesus at the last supper.
I think the things of the world are sometimes more pleasing to us than following Jesus Christ. We pursue the things we want, instead of the things God wants. I think that’s why giving us things for Lent is so meaningful. Since we become detached from things, it shows who is really in charge of our lives: God.
Judas betrayed Jesus as if he was nothing. God is the most wonderful thing in this world and if it wasn’t for him you wouldn’t be here right now. $300 is nothing compared to Jesus love and all the things he did for you. He sacrificed Him self for you.
Jesus Knows, Jesus knows everything. “Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me.” Jesus knew that one of His disciples were going to betray Him. He also knew what he was going to go through at the Crucifixion. God knows when you are going to sin and he will forgive you when you ask for forgiveness.
God gave us a free will. In Scripture, Judas is going to betray Jesus and he knows it, but he still asks, “Surely it is not I, Rabbi?” Judas is basically lying about betraying Jesus. We all have lied about something we did or were going to do. We need to stop lying and choose to tell the truth.
Judas betrayed Jesus and literally sold Him away. Jesus knew what was going to happen long before it did and still didn’t stop it. He didn’t stop it because He loves us and died for our sake and our sins. This is the greatest love and nobody can ever love you more than this.
In Today’s Scripture Judas betrays Jesus. Jesus knows our hearts. Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray Him. Jesus knows everything. In this Gospel He tells the disciples to go to a certain house so that they could eat Passover. We should also not let money corrupt us like how Judas was corrupted by 30 silver coins.
This scripture is signifying that God doesnt have any money value he has no price just as judas betrayed him for money.
God wants us to ask for forgiveness. It shows Him that we care and that we are sorry for our sins. If we ask God for forgiveness, it proves that we want to go to heaven and be with Him forever. This makes us have a closer relationship with God.
I think the scripture is saying that we need to believe every bit of the truth that Jesus is, He came down to earth to save us. We must be grateful for that and fully and truly love Him. Judas did not understand this and betrayed Jesus for $300 dollars in our time.
He knows his fathers will and he has to die on the cross but in the agony he kept saying let this cup pass over me but not my will but yours be done and he didn’t want to but he loved us so much that he wanted us to be saved from our sins.
We are all part of God’s plan. Even though Judas had betrayed Him, He still went and died for us on the cross to show us His love for us. He will always forgive us when we ask of His mercy, but we must be willing to follow such example and forgive those who have wronged us.
Judas betrayed Jesus for what I consider a decent amount of money. But what could he have gotten out of that. Today you could maybe get a phone for $300. And all the love he betrayed Jesus even though Jesus let him in knowing that he would betray him. Yet it still hurt bad.
