Humbly submit your will to God (thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven), consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd,
Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the roadside begging.
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out and say,
“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.
But he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me.”
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called the blind man, saying to him,
“Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
Jesus told him, ‘Go your way; your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way.  Mk 10:46-52

Jesus and the blind man teach us about mercy, love, and faith.  The blind man was humble and asked Jesus to have pity on him. His perseverance and faith, even though he was being rebuked by the crowds, saved him.  Jesus offers love and mercy to the blind man, but most importantly each one of us everyday of our lives by saying,”What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replies, “Master, I want to see.”  All of us, must humbly come before Jesus each day.  When He asks us what we want, do we reply with a laundry lists of comforts and material things?  The blind man did not want to see, he wanted to see through the devil’s lies, overcome his fallen human nature, and live in the peace and joy that God offers us if we just open eyes and see the Truth.  The blind man wanted the Truth, Jesus Christ in his life and his heart.  Jesus did not say, “Your material possessions saved you” or “Having the most friends saved you” or “Being the most popular and having the best looks saved you” or “Since you are the most powerful, I will save you”, Jesus says, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”  If we had more faith (trust in God), our lives would be completely different and we would truly “see”.  Let’s recap how Jesus teaches us to get to heaven today.  1. Be humble, ask for Jesus’ mercy.  2. When Jesus asks us what we want, respond saying, “I want to see”. 3. Have faith, totally and completely trust God.  The rewards are eternal!
