Today, Mary says one of the most beautiful hymns of thanksgiving that we have.  She is praising God in this canticle thanking Him for choosing her to be the mother of the Savior of the world.  We call this prayer the Magnificat or Canticle of Mary or song of Mary. “Magnificat means: A Latin word, the first word of the hymn of thanksgiving sung by the Most Blessed Virgin Mary during Her visit to Her cousin Elizabeth. The entire narrative of Her Visitation and Her hymn are found in the Gospel according to Saint Luke 1:39-56.”  I found this at  http://www.magnificat.ca/en/magnificat.html

Mary said:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
for he has looked upon his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.”  Lk 1:39-56

Join Mary today and thanking God for all of your blessings, especially that the Savior of the world will be remembered in two days for coming into the world and bringing heaven to earth to dwell among us and be like us in everything but sin.
