Who is the Man? In the book of Hebrews, today in the 1st reading it says, “When He had accomplished purification from sins, he took a seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high, as far superior to the angels. For to which of the angels did God ever say: you are my Son this day I have begotten you.” Hebrews 1:1-6

In the Gospel, Jesus begins his mission after being baptized yesterday. It is important we listen to what He has to say because he is the Man. He came proclaiming, “This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel.” Mk 1:14-20

He goes on to choose his Apostles who he tells, “You will become fishers of men.”

Today, reflect on who Jesus is. He says himself it is the time of fulfillment. He fulfills 65 prophecies in the Old Testament. No one else in human history has done this. He is superior to the angels and sits at the right hand of God. Who else has done this? Nobody. If Jesus is who he says he is and God from the heavens tells us, “This is my beloved Son of whom I am well pleased.” We should start believing in the Man, follow Him and change our ways.
