Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Read about the 12 promises Jesus gave to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in her vision, feast Oct. 16th.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding,
ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants
whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival.

Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself,
have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch
and find them prepared in this way,
blessed are those servants.”
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Be sure of this:
if the master of the house had known the hour
when the thief was coming,
he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared,
for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”

Then Peter said,
“Lord, is this parable meant for us or for everyone?”
And the Lord replied,
“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward
whom the master will put in charge of his servants
to distribute the food allowance at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.
Truly, I say to you, he will put him
in charge of all his property.
But if that servant says to himself,
‘My master is delayed in coming,’
and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants,
to eat and drink and get drunk,
then that servant’s master will come
on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour
and will punish the servant severely
and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
That servant who knew his master’s will
but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will
shall be beaten severely
;

and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will
but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating
shall be beaten only lightly.
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much,
and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”
Lk 12:36-48

Jesus teaches us the importance of being prepared, staying vigilant in our faith, and what responsibility we have when we learn the Truth from Jesus that we have a great responsibility to share that Truth.  ”We do not know the day or the hour the master will return, be ready, ” is posted in my classroom to remind everyone including myself that we must daily dedicate ourselves to Jesus and His Truth.  How? Read the Scriptures daily to know God’s will, sit in silence and reflect (“Speak Lord your servant is listening.”), this then gives us perspective to see Jesus in every person we come in contact with and treat them the way we want to be treated, in our sufferings and temptations we pick up our crosses and ask God to help us bear them, and through these actions (if needed use words-St. Francis) we will be doing the will of God, being vigilant and faithful servants, and accepting the responsibility of learning the Truth and sharing it.  We also need to be vigilant in how we respond to God.  God has done everything we need to gain salvation, it is how we respond.  Inheriting our fallen human nature, we will sin.  How will we respond to God’s love that He left us in the sacrament of confession to be reconciled back to him as many times as needed.  We must go to confession to receive the graces we need to fight sin.  We need to receive the Eucharist as often as possible to fight sin.  We need to pray and sit in silence to fight sin.  Then, when Jesus comes back and sees we have kept watch a second or third time He will respond, “You have been a good and faithful servant.” Today’s challenge: Learn something about God, live it, and share it.  Go to confession.                                                       Become a saint!                                                                                                                                                   Christian YOLO
