Humbly submit your will to God (thy will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Jesus appointed seventy-two other disciples
whom he sent ahead of him in pairs
to every town and place he intended to visit.
He said to them,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.
Go on your way;
behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals;
and greet no one along the way.
Into whatever house you enter, first say,
‘Peace to this household.’
If a peaceful person lives there,
your peace will rest on him;
but if not, it will return to you.
Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment.
Do not move about from one house to another.
Whatever town you enter and they welcome you,
eat what is set before you,
cure the sick in it and say to them,
‘The Kingdom of God is at hand for you.’
Whatever town you enter and they do not receive you,
go out into the streets and say,
‘The dust of your town that clings to our feet,
even that we shake off against you.’
Yet know this: the Kingdom of God is at hand.
I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom on that day than for that town.” Lk 10:1-12
Today, Jesus is asking us to pray for our Pope, bishops, priests, religious brothers and sisters, and catechists (don’t forget this includes parents the first educator of God to children). He is asking us to ask God (the master of the harvest) to send laborers for the harvest. If we do not have priests, we cannot get to heaven, plain and simple. We cannot be baptized to have our original sin taken away, we cannot receive the Catholic ER (Eucharist and Reconciliation) when we fail to keep the commandments. We cannot be consecrated in our vocations of priesthood and marriage or given our last rites before death. We are so blessed in our diocese of Wichita with many vocations, but we can always have more. Many dioceses are suffering in the U.S. and priests are few with many pilgrims to serve. These men and women “carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals” and stay faithful to Christ their whole life. What a great model of love for us! Some spend their whole life in a convent or monastery praying for us! Amazing!
Second, Jesus is telling us that some will accept His message and some will not, but we must not become disheartened. Keep living and teaching Jesus, it brings persecution and joy, the reward is eternal life!
Today’s challenge: Pray for our Pope, bishop, priests, seminarians, and religious!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
I can apply this to my life by trusting in the Lord and believing that he will guide me. I can also be thankful for everything i get.
This scripture found me thinking that we don’t need all of the stuff we want to be able to live. Jesus sent the disciples in pairs without any sandals, money, or sacks and that to me is where I think that all of that stuff that we want to make us more comfortable, we are able to live without.
I can apply this to my life by praying for our Pope, Bishop, and Priest.
Jesus teaches us that we should be welcoming to everyone. The home owners that help the disciples will be on the way to heaven.
Jesus is sending us out too to convert people
I think that in this Gospel Jesus says to humble yourself and serve the Lord in humility. It was said to bring no money, sack nor sandals. We must drop everything to get to the Kingdom of God. I think it means to put God first in your life and trust that he will take care of you as we serve him.
Take what is offered to you don’t be picky about what you get for a gift. Appreciate the things people give to you.
I can apply this to my life by always having trust in God. They trusted him so much that they set out with nothing and trust in God.
I think that today’s Gospel is telling us that we should all go out and spread the news of Jesus. This doesn’t always mean traveling somewhere, it can just mean spreading the news within your family and friends. All Christians are called to be missionaries.
We must pray for those around us. Jesus wants us to open our hearts so that we can recieve his words and grace.
What i think its saying is that we either need to accept what Jesus is saying to us because the people that don’t kinda regret it later on.
We need to pray for our brother and sisters. If they aren’t peaceful the peace will return to you but if they are the peace will fall upon the person who is peaceful. So we need to do what Jesus tells us to and we will be rewarded with Heaven.
I can apply this to my life by praying to the pope, priests, bishops as a temporal punishment and be like the disciples bringing peace among the people
We do not need material things to live or be happy. Jesus sent them out with no money no spare cloths no places to stay they were just at the mercy of the others. We do not need cloths and money to be happy we do not need cloths and money to get to God. So why do we long for them so much it does not give us happiness only sometimes pleasure. Pleasure is not happiness because you are only happy while the activity is still going it can not sustain itself Shopping is fun until you are done.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus sent the Apostles on their way to spread the news of God and perform miracles. That was their calling. In today’s world, it is so hard to hear the voice of God because there is so much noise and distraction. But we need to listen, pray and ask God to show us the way or his path for us. Then, it will become more apparent what our purpose is here on earth.
The scripture is telling us to blindly follow God. Jesus tells the disciples not to bring anything. They are told to rely on strangers’ kindness to clothe them, feed them and house them. I think this is a message for us to just put all of our trust in God.
Seventy-two of them are chosen. Jesus sends them out, and they move into each town. They’re told to work for the harvester. Jesus says, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.
Go on your way;
behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals;
and greet no one along the way.
Into whatever house you enter, first say,
‘Peace to this household.’
If a peaceful person lives there,
your peace will rest on him;
but if not, it will return to you.
I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom on that day than for that town.”
In this passage Jesus says that we should be praying from the priests and religious because we cannot receive the Eucharist, get our original sin taken away, or get our sins forgiven without them. They do so much for us and so we should take a bit of time out of our days to pray for them. Just like in the scripture Jesus asks us to ask God to send out his laborers like he is the master of the harvest. This is because if we don’t have priests we can’t make it to heaven.
Jesus is saying that there are a lot of people, but not many are willing to stick with their Faith. We must stick with our Faith and do as the Jesus and our leaders of the Church say, so we can have a strong relationship with God.
I can put this reading in my daily routine is to be peaceful to everyone and be true.
Jesus says in the scripture today, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few. Jesus is telling us that there is a great harvest through him that can be shared to others, however there are few people who follow Jesus, the laborers. We labor through our daily lives in hopes that we can end up with Jesus in Heaven. He calls us to go out into the world and be missionaries to share about Jesus and his abundance.
God is always leading us. We should trust him. He will guide our path.
I can apply this to my life by realizing that not just priests are called to be missionaries.
God is telling us to follow and listen to HIm and our priest. He doesn’t want us to go astray. He wants us to preach the good news that He is with us and will always will be.
Today Jesus is encoring us all to be missionaries for Christ, so we can go to heaven to be with him and love him.
My take away from todays scripture is that having faith and hope in God is very important. in the scripture they leave everything behind and put all their faith and trust into God and he helps guide them and protect them.
What I got from this Scripture is that God wants the whole world to know of his love and you don’t have to go across the world for that. You can go in your household and pray with your family to get you and your family closer to Jesus. We also need to pray for our bishops and our pope because they are what we look for information and advice to that they be gifted with the Holy Spirit and have it give them the knowledge that they need. Have a good day and God bless you and your family.
Today in this gospel Jesus sends out people to evangelize and spread the amazing power and love that God wants to give. This tells us that we need to spread the word of God and help others.
This scripture, to me, reminds me of the food that gets placed on our table. The only way that we have food is the workers in the fields providing for us. In the same way Jesus sends out his disciples as the workers, and the provide peace for us. This just goes to show what lengths Jesus is willing to go for us to get to Heaven. He sends out these disciples in pairs, but does not allow them to take anything with them, so too we must leave our material desires and pleasures behind if we truly want to rejoice in the fullness of Heaven with Jesus Christ Our Lord.
I can reflect on this scripture because sometimes when someone is mean about something or someone, I get very defensive and it doesn’t lead anywhere. And in today’s scripture, Jesus told the disciples when a nonpeaceful person shows up, simply say a few words and move on, because they have made their choice and I need to respect that, not try to change what they are or what they believe.
We should be grateful for priests because without them we can’t get to Heaven. We should take care of them like the people took care of the disciples in their towns. They are the reason we are able to do most, if not all, the sacraments and blessings. They guide us in our faith and help us connect with God. Without them our faith would be weak. They strengthen us in our faith and help us do what Christ would do in a time of need.
in today’s scripture it is telling us to be missionaries of Christ. Not to actually go with no money and shoes but to preach the Gospel. We need to pray for the pope, our priests and other religious people.
In today’s scripture Jesus tell the disciples to go on a journey \ he says, “don’t carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals and greet no one along the way.” I can relate to this because if I pray to God and even if I don’t have much when I pray to God i’ll have everything I need. And what i’ll get from praying is peace, grace and a happy life.
Jesus is sending people to visit cities and towns, proclaim the word, enter the house and let peace fall upon it if they are peaceful. We need to give others peace if they are peaceful. To live in harmony with everyone you must be peaceful.
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few”. We can connect the harvest to God’s infinite love. We can connect the laborers to us. We must be like the disciples, spread the Word of God to everyone that is willing to listen. This is the only way that we can get the amount of laborers to grow.
Today it is saying that whatever Jesus has to offer for us take it. In real terms I mean at a family dinner take what they have to offer you some people in this world don’t even get a meal put out for them in the morning, afternoon, and night. Jesus is truly present in all we do he loves us so much that we need to love him so much back. Jesus is always here for us in the ups and downs so we need to talk to him daily and respect the fact that hes hear for us and will do anything for us we just have to talk to him everyday and know that he loves us so much so we need to love him so much back. He is the true creator of this world so we need to understand that and love him as much as he loves us.
In today’s scripture Jesus is reminding us. I have noticed (with myself and others) that we tend to believe that if we do the right things we can get to heaven. We forgot an important thing though, to spread the word. We need to “send out laborers for the harvest”. We need to bring more people to the church so when “the harvest” comes we will have many laborers to work and follow. The last thing I want to say is that we need to remember our teachers; our parents, priests, nuns, deacons, bishops, popes, school teachers, etc. We need to thank them for spreading the word of God and bringing us into the Catholic church because without them we would be lost.
I can apply this to my life by thanking all of those who have guided me and helped me in my journey with God. These people have formed the way I look at God and the way I praise and glorify him. I can teach others to love God and grow closer to him like I am.
I can apply this scripture to my life by letting others into my life and sharing what I have with them instead of being greedy. I others need help I can be there for them. like Jesus is always there for me
Jesus sent all this disciples into the next town, where people didn’t like Jesus. They carried no money, no bags, not even sandals. They were completely empty and unarmed. But, they did it anyway. They trusted Jesus and accepted his message. Jesus is calling for us, we should listen out and accept his message.
He sent people to be sheep among the wolfes. He wanted them to go to people give them the lords peace and if they didn’t take it they didn’t take it. They moved to the next town. He cured all the sickness becouse he wated his poeple healthy. That is telling me that he wants us to take his grace. He will protect us and give us the best he can. He will protect us in the darkest times all we have to do it belive him and worship him. That is a great thing all we have to belive and he will protect us. All we have to do is belive.
Jesus sent all this disciples into the next town, where people didn’t like Jesus. They carried no money, no bags, not even sandals. They were completely empty and unarmed. But, they did it anyway. They trusted Jesus and accepted his message. Jesus is calling for us, we should listen for his voice and carry out his word.
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” God has sent out the priest, bishops, popes, other religious people to preach His word. We must listen to them.
I can apply this to my life by being welcoming. We should welcome everyone with love and care. I can also preach the Gospel to others. People deserve to know God and be close to Him, like how I am. Therefore, I can welcome people who want to join the Catholic faith by preaching.
we should go out and spread Gods word every where. we need to keep living and teaching Jesus, it brings joy, and it end in eternal life.
In today’s scripture Jesus is calling us to be missioners to everyone
Jesus wants us to pray for others. We must have open hearts to receive all of Jesus’ love and grace.
Jesus is telling us that we need to pray for the pope, bishops, and priests because we can’t get to Heaven without them. Without them, we can’t receive any of the sacraments we need to get to Heaven, like the Eucharist, and baptism, and confirmation. We also need to keep praying for the Holy Spirit to guide us in the right direction so we can make it to Heaven.
In this scripture I feel as tho Jesus wants us to live our lives in a peaceful and most humble way. He wants us to fully give our selves up as apostles and do the job that he was put here to do
This scripture made me reflect on the fact that we don’t need all of the stuff we want in life and we take life for granted. We should stop being so avaricious and living a life of objects instead of living a life of substance and Jesus Christ.
Today Jesus is sending his disciples out to gather more and preach the word of God. This is what hes trying to teach us to do, we should go out and spread the word, and be missionaries.
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells the disciples that they need to preach the word of God and not care what others think, and also to take their hospitality.
We need to spread the word like the what the disciples did, and we need to teach people about Jesus and his teachings.
I can apply this to my life to become more forgiving and help others who need it like the poor.I can also help more around my house and be thankful for what I have.
God wants us to know that he will always be with us and give us whatever we need to survive and be truly happy if we just give ourselves fully up to him.
Use what we are given, eat what we sre given, they took the time to get it for you nowyou must repay them by pespecting what they give you.
The disciples are the laborers and the Gospel is the harvest. They give the harvest to the people and the people rejoice and give thanks, but for those who are picky eaters, they soon draw to hunger and desperation. And so they begin to beg and they beg relentlessly, but lo, the laborers deny them, for the beggars did not want it before.
“Go on your way;
behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals.”
This saying tells me that we shouldn’t want to be like other people, we shouldn’t buy things to fit in because God loves us even if we don’t have gucci shoes or a really nice dress! When he says he is sending us, lambs, among the wolves, I think he’s saying we should try our best to not get tempted by the people around us and to not look at them as if they are the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. God loves each and everyone of us individually!!
In today’s scripture, Jesus sends off his disciples to go and preach the good news of the Lord. He tells them not to bring anything. “Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals.” I can apply this scripture passage to my life by trusting that God will provide for me at all times, and by sharing God’s word to others.
In today’s gospel Jesus apostles went to spread news. Jesus wants us to be missionaries to go spread the gospel to others so we can help lead other and so they can grow closer to Jesus. He wants us to grow closer to him. Have faith and hope in Jesus, he sent his apostles to spread the news without sandals, money, and food.
what Jesus tells me in this scripture is that we should be willing to trust Jesus if we are to enter the kingdom of God what i can take away from this scripture is that we should always listen to God and look for him in our every day life.
I believe that the scripture is telling us that we need to spread the word and make god the center of our lives. A lot of times we don’t put god first and instead put sports or social media first. God needs to be the first thing we think about when we wake up and the last thing we think about before we go to sleep.
Jesus is telling us to welcome everyone and not exclude people. Don’t be picky about what we get or dont get, we need to learn to be accepting of everyone, despite their faults. Everyone has faults even you so excluding someone because of their faults doesn’t make sense. Being accepting of everyone is very important.
what I got from today’s scripture is that I need to go out and spread the word of God just like the Apostles did. They didn’t care if there were mocked or criticized for believing in Jesus Christ, and I can apply this to my life by always believing, even if the people in my life don’t.
This makes me think of all the stuff on the shelves in all the stores. To get it ther we have to have the farmers and people in the factories do most of the work. Yet we almost never think about them. We never really thank them for what they are giving us. We can try and thank them or pray for them. They work for many hours a day at little pay but they still do it and it is the least we can to to pray for them and to appreciate what they have done for us. We just have to think about someone other than ourselves.
I can rely on this scripture by trust in God and Jesus that they will give me what i need and deserve we are brought into this would with as God said no sandals no snacks no money bag. That means that when he brought us into this world by sending us down into our mothers womb we come with nothing but ourselves and we rely on our parents to feed us and clothes us as well as give us a roof over our head just as the disciples were told to bring nothing with them they relied on the kindness of people to let them in their home just as we trust our parents to never give up on us and help us in life. so i will take this scripture and trust in God that he is sending me on my way with life on a good path with trust in everyone and they will provide for me.
I take away form the scripture is that we need to have trust in God. We have to believe that the scripture means something to us. And that we truly believe that God is real and the lamb of God. We must believe in Jesus so we can get to Heaven, and live with him for eternity.
Jesus tells his disciples to go and preach his word. We must do what he has told us and proclaim the word of God. Jesus died for sins and resurescted. That’s an amazing thing , we have to tell the good news.
in this scripture Jesus wants us to welcome everyone into the church.
Jesus sent out his Apostles to go teach which is the same as we should do in our lives as Catholics. You should always pick up your Bible every day and read it then go out and tell people about what you read and what good Jesus has done for us.
This is telling me to except what God is doing for me in my life and to start praying and doing what God calls me to.
I think he is saying everywhere you go with or without the stuff you need god Can help you.
I think it means that when Jesus died for us he is the harvester and we need to do Holy things which are laborers for the hervester.
The gospel is telling me to truly take in what God has to offer and to spread the word of God because he is the highest of high and the holiest of holy. He sent out his disciples to spread the word to people that did not like Jesus but to spread the word, in the world we are in today us Catholics are the disciples and we are supposed to spread the word to everyone else because almost nobody believes in any sort of religion. We have to spread the word and be like the disciples in the current situations we are in today.
This teaches us to not be picky with what is given to us and we should accept what is being offered.
I think this passage means go forth and preach the word of God. I think this also means trust in God and He will provide . And that we are servants of God and are meaning and purpose is to spread the word of God.
What it means is with or without the stuff we need God can help us.
I can use this in my life is that I should God that he has a good plan in front of me. I should trust that God has a good plan in front of me. I can’t doubt him when it comes to a plan in my life. I should trust in God that he will give me everything I need in life. I need to put more trust in him when It comes to things like this.
Heaven is so close but so far away.
Jesus is sending us out through the world to convert people.
In today’s scripture, God tells us that we need to put all of our trust in him and to go off to tell others the word of God. It says: “Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals.” This means that the humanly things do not matter, and what society shows what we need to have is not what we actually need. All we need to do is have Christ at our side and He will take care of the rest. We need to rely and put all of our faith in Him and trust that He will guide us along the path to Heaven.
We need to make sure to spread the Word of God to the people that haven’t had the opportunity to learn about it.
In this scripture Jesus wants us to welcome everyone into the church
I think that we could apply this in our lives in many ways but one of the ways I like is about perseverance. In the gospel, Jesus tells his disciples to never get dishearted. If we go into every situation in a day with a positive mindset, even if it doesn’t end up good, we will not get discouraged.
This scripture is telling me that I can’t be picky about what I get in life.
This scripture reminded me to preach the Word, and some people may or may not follow it. Even if they don’t, don’t be sadden. In this world, you may go through rough times, but keep on going because you just need to remind yourself that you will eventually be rewarded.
This Gospel passage is telling me that life is going to be hard. He is sending us out like lambs among wolves. But He tells us this: the Kingdom of God is at hand. He gives us comfort in our time of suffering, in the times we are tempted. Believe me I know life is hard. There’s always worry and grief, in everyone’s lives, not just yours. I lost my great grandma, and it was hard on me and my whole family. Just know this, whatever you are going through, you are not alone. Jesus felt every little or big thing that you feel, on the cross. He is there for you in all of this. He works in our weaknesses and in our brokeness. There is hope. Hope for every sinner, and that hope is found through the cross. That hope is Heaven, for Jesus reminds us today that the gates of the Kingdom is Heaven is open.
Today Jesus is sending his disciples out to every town and place to spread the Word of God without any sandals, a sack or a money bag. I can apply this to my life by remembering that the one thing I need is Jesus. We don’t need all of the extra things that we have. We also need to pray for all of our priests because they follow Jesus in every way at the mass which helps us get to Heaven.
Yesterday I just lost my great grandma, and it was hard on me and my whole family.
Jesus had sent the diciples out and he told them to carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals
and to greet no one along the way. This scripture is telling me that I don’t need everything that i want in life.
I think we can take away from this Gospel that when he says the harvest is abundant he is probably talking about the graces of heaven. When he says there are few laborers I think he means there are few people to receive his grace. We can be the laborers by going to mass on sundays and reiciving confesion often.
I can apply this scripture to my life by praying more for the pope, bishops and priests. I can also drop all of my material things and follow God.
When God basically says drop everything and go spread the word. What this means to me is that nothing can compare to God so, God wanted no distractions when the disciples went telling people about them. I think that God is saying to put him first and yourself last because he wants us to be humble.
This is related to my life because I am supposed to bring people to the church.
This scripture is reminding me to preach the Word and welcome people into the church.
I think this means that we should go out and spread the gospel, and to have faith in God. We should put all of our trust in him and let him guide us.
I bet only 1/100 Catholics go to mass, and only 1/1000 of that spread the word.
I believe that Jesus is telling us to go out and spread the good news to everyone
In today’s reading, Jesus tells us to trust in him. He said to his disciples, ” Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals
and greet no one along the way.” Now bringing nothing on a journey would be pretty hard but what he saying is that if we trust in Him He will provide for us.
I think this means we can’t get to heaven alone, we need other people’s forgiveness and love and we need priests so we can receive the sacraments.
Jesus is asking us to pray for people who are in need help so he will listen to you if you need help or are upset or sad.
I think that this means that we need to look at what we have and see if we could live without it and if we can then maybe we could also give it to people that have less than us. I think that this also means that we need to pray for the holy brothers and sisters.
what I can take from this is that I can pray every night and get closer to God he will protect and guide me the right way.
Todays scripture is about Jesus sending 22 disciples to go out and praise thw word that the kingdom is at hand. It’s telling us to go and spead the word
I think the Gospel is trying to me that we don’t need any of the extra things in our lives, like video games, TV, social media, phones. The only thing that we need to live forever is Jesus Christ. So that’s why it is important that we preach the Word of God, so that everybody may have eternal life with God in Heaven.
I think this scripture is telling me that we need to spread the Word more often and Jesus sent out his disciples to go spread the word so us Catholics on this Earth should try to go spread the word to people that don’t believe in religions or God.
This tells me that we dint need anything. the only thing we need is God. It is telling us to go on a journey where we pray for people and bless them. A journey where he will guide us. There are many to be converted so we must help them to Christ
Jesus is telling us that life will be hard, but he will always provide what is needed, so bring nothing but your faith. He tells us not to ask for more than what is offered. We should go throughout every day helping others on the way. Be grateful for the gifts you are blessed with. For every privilege can be taken away.
Today the gospel says that Jesus sent out some of his apostles without a sack, money bag or sandals. This gospel is reminding me that I need to remember that I need Jesus and not toys or things that I enjoy. I need to do things for the poor and for those who look like they are in trouble. I need to remember that I don’t need things that I enjoy but that I need things that bring me closer to God. This is probably my favorite gospel because it reminded me of things that I have never thought about or was told about and just left it behind me. It reminds me that there are a bunch of people out there with no house, family, food, etc. It also reminds me that I need to be more generous and if I see anyone that is hurt, lonely, or just need someone to cheer them up.
I can apply this to my life by knowing That we are a called to be one with jesus christ not just priest we are all called.
Ask God to bring people into the Church and be holy. I definitely could use this in my life
I can apply this scripture passage to my life by remembering to trust in what God has planned for me and to be thankful for all the good things that I have. I am very lucky to have my house and my family and I need to remember that whenever I feel like complaining about something petty. I also have to remember, that like the disciples, I do not know what God has in store for me, but I just have to keep being loving and prayerful every day.
This scripture is speaking to me that we need to pray and not be afraid to ask something for God. We need to talk to God like our own best friend! Second, we also need to listen to God. He talks to us every day we just need to listen. We can’t ignore God if he’s calling you, listen!
