Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Many of the disciples of Jesus who were listening said,
“This saying is hard; who can accept it?”
Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this,
he said to them, “Does this shock you?
What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
It is the Spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail.
The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life.
But there are some of you who do not believe.”
Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe
and the one who would betray him.
And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me
unless it is granted him by my Father.”

As a result of this,
many of his disciples returned to their former way of life
and no longer walked with him.
Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?”
Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life.
We have come to believe
and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.” JN 6:60-69

“This saying is hard; who can accept it?”  This is one of the hardest teachings Jesus gave us.  Jesus’s mission is to die and rise, before He does so He teaches us today that He will stay with us forever hidden behind bread and wine.  He then institutes it at the Last Supper.  His love is amazing!  There is just one problem.  He must have someone to “do this in remembrance of me”.  Today, many people leave Him.  Does He back down?  No.  He says, “Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?”  Not only that He turns to His own chosen disciples in which the whole future of the Church relies on spreading the Good News and bringing all nations to know Jesus.  What?  Yes, this teaching is so important that Jesus is willing to give up the whole mission of the Church.  Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?” This is serious.  Thank God, Simon Peter and the apostles did not walk away, too! Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.  We have come to believe
and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.” JN 6:60-69 We do not need to be with the Apostles to believe. Because of this difficult yet amazing teaching, we can consume Jesus and have Him closer to us today then many did when He walked the earth.  Thank you, Jesus!

Today’s challenge: Do you believe that Jesus has the words of eternal life and that He is the Holy One of God?  Believe, receive His joy, then go forth and share it with others.  The Good News of Jesus is not to stay with us, but is to inspire us to go and do something with it.  This is what we are made for and how we become saints!
