Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come,
Jesus said in reply,
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
Then he said to his disciples,
“The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
There will be those who will say to you,
‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’
Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.
For just as lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other,
so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” LK 17:20-25
Jesus answers a question today that is always a heavy topic, when will God’s Kingdom come. Jesus answers, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” He also remarks, “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Finally, in MT 20:28 Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always to the end of the age.” What does this mean? We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now (Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always. God is everywhere all of the time.
I teach 100 yards from the “Kingdom of God” on earth in the tabernacle and monstrance in perpetual adoration. Amazing! He continues to offer Himself up for us and stay with us. He is with us in prayer and when we say “Come, Holy Spirit”.
How do I know? The Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Spirit in all baptized people guiding the Church and us individually, in the sunrise and sunset, the mountains and oceans, the stars, moon, and sun. Most importantly, because He said so and I believe and trust Him. Jesus said He must suffer greatly predicting His passion. The Catholic Church had the end of the world pegged a long time ago. The world ended when Jesus died on the cross and resurrected conquering sin and death. We no longer have to live with Original Sin, the gates of heaven are open, we have the Holy Spirit in us, we have God’s grace in the sacraments that Jesus set up while on earth, we have the Eucharist and confession, prayer, as we wait for the Second Coming. We are living in the end times with the power and opportunity to be holy each day. It lies within us. Take time to sit in silence and listen!
Today’s challenge: Take time to pray and think about God not far away but right here with us always, it makes a huge difference in the way we view things and live our life! God is with us, wow! If you can wrap your mind around God’s true presence at Mass and in the Blessed Sacrament, you will be at peace and never want to leave.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
In this scripture passage it is predicting the crucifixion of Christ and is saying that he will be rejected and persecuted Jesus did that for us and predicted the future of what was going to happen to him and how he was going to die.
I think the scripture is saying that we will not see the kingdom of God but feel its presence until we die then we will be raised up into heaven.
When there’s a storm outside, you can’t ever predict when lightning is going to strike, just like the fact that you never know when the Son of God will come. No one will be able to point out the Son of Man coming, and no one will be able to predict it, so just like lightning strikes, the Son of God will come at an unknown time.
We do not know when the Kingdom of God will come. We should always be aware of all that we do and strive to stay in a state of holiness. We should try not to sin and go to confession, receive the Eucharist, and live a Christ-like life. Christ suffered and died for us so that we may have eternal happiness with him. By striving to be holy, we can honor Him through our day to day lives in all that we say, do, and think.
“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Jesus is foreshadowing his death. He says that he must suffer so we don’t have to. Jesus has done so much for us and yet people still mock him. The least we could do for him is talk to him. Pray to him and just be there with him in mass.
What reached out to me was when It said, “but you will not see it”. What this means to me is that sometimes it’ll be hard to keep going in our faith. We may have doubts but we need to stay strong.
I feel like this Gospel is talking directly to our generation now. I think this is because more people than ever aren’t going to mass and others are becoming atheists. Our generation is normalizing things that are definitely not normal. I think God is saying after our generation or when people start to realize we are doing horrible that might be when Jesus comes back to earth.
Today´s scripture passage is very important and very meaningful. Today we learn that God is sooo soo so near to us. We often think of Heaven or God so far away or just the place we go after we die. No, it’s so much more powerful and meaningful. Earth is not our true home. This is the place that we show God that we are ready to have the Eternal Kingdom with Him and His holy saints. Heaven is our true home and long desire. We should strive everyday knowing that we have the great opportunity to get to Heaven. So starting today lets really think about how we can get home. Do you want to take the devil path? Or would you like to take the God path? I don´t know about you but I am going to take the God path because I know at the end of it, Heaven is my ultimate prize.
In Scripture, Jesus tells us that he had to suffer greatly for us. Jesus died on the cross for us. We don’t have to do anything for God’s love. He loves us no matter what and He will always love us.
jesus wa sther for evreone and helpe the pepole in neead and he is all way swithas
The gospel today say that I will not when God will come. That means for me that I need to not rush through life because If I do the Son of Man will come to me and i will ignore him I will not have eternal life. instead I need to slow down and realize that this World is not forever and that when God come I will be ready to come he will save you and me forever and ever.
In today’s reading “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” this line stuck out out me because it was veyr difficult for Jesus to keep a mindset of knowing what he had to versus what he wanted to do. And in his generation he was rejected and that still happens to this day where people aren’t treated rightly because of religion.
In this Gospel, Jesus tells the apostles about how he will die and suffer greatly. He also tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven is among us. Everyone is invited to the Fathers Kingdom but many do not make it. Although Jesus was rejected by is own people, he still loves them and died for them.
God is with us at all times, doesn’t matter when or when. God is out of our space and time and is with everyone at every moment. He isn’t someone just watching us he is in us and surrounding us.
God isn’t a man in the sky. God is everywhere. He’s a lot closer than we think he is and he dwells within us. Every time we sin, we hurt God. It’s like we know God is there but we don’t care. We do it anyway because we’re tempted to do so, because we don’t think we need God. Realizing that God is always with us will change our views and strengthen our faith and our dedication to the Catholic way of life. Selfishness is apart of our human nature and is hard to fight off, but with the help of God we can.
Today Jesus tells us, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” Jesus is telling us the Kingdom of Heaven is open to us and we don’t know it. We know it but we don’t listen. WHY, because we are tempted, we put so many things above God, We are so blindsided. We need to realize God is waiting for us we just have to be the ones that except Him.
I think this scripture is telling us that we need to realize that God is with us now and that we can speak to him and be with him anytime. I feel like all of us have to know that if we wanted to, we could be with God anytime . We don’t have to be at church to be with him, we don’t have to be at adoration to be with him. God is just always with us twenty-four-seven.
We do not know when the second coming is. No human does. We should be prepared for when He comes.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This is saying that no one will be able to fully understand when the kingdom of God is coming and it’s proven because this also says it is among you and it’s Jesus he is kingdom among us and no one notices that its him.
the Kingdom of God is among us. what i think He is trying to tell us is that the his kingdom is within us and we don’t even realize it. we can’t see it but we know it is there. it is always there, we may not always realize it or think about it but His kingdom is among us, within us, it is living right in our hearts.
We will never know when Jesus/God will return but we must always be prepared. Just because we dont expect it to be soon you must be praying and praising him every day even every hour you awake. You must spread his word before he comes back because he will ask you if you have done his work/word.
Today in the scripture I felt like Jesus was telling me that the Kingdom Of God is a lot closer than we think. When he was talking to the Apostles he said, “The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
There will be those who will say to you,
‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’
Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.
For just as lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other,
so will the Son of Man be in his day But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” I felt like when I receive the Eucharist I truly am the closest to Jesus and God on earth. I will never be able to get closer to him any other way. So I think that the Kingdom of Heaven is going to be a very wonderful awesome thing. So we have to dedicate our lives to get to Heaven. I think that the Kingdom of God is not going to be something super noticeable but rather something more quiet and softer. It will be, Paradise.
God is always with us, God is not in the sky he is in our hearts, he is all around us. We are God’s children he would not put us on earth if we did not have a purpose. We are here for a reason so it is important that we will never forget that.
this scripture passage means to me the Jesus has done so much for me he died for my sins he loves us so so so much all he wants us to do is love him back give him everything we have he will handle it so carfly he will make sure that we are safe he wants us to love other people to he wants us to be kind to everyone
We have no idea when the kingdom of Heaven will come. The kingdom of heaven is always open to us. We should all prepare for the second coming it could come now or it could come when we pass away or our kids, kids, kids, kids, kids pass away. But no matter what we should always be leading a christian life.
No one knows when the second coming is. But we should always be ready for when he does come.
God is by us a way lot closer than we think he is he is always God is always ready for us we just need to be the ones who accept him and let him in our life. The second is way closer than we think and we need to be ready and prepared for when he comes. We need to put other things aside and focus on what will really matter because when the day comes we need to be ready.
I think the meaning of this scripture was that God didn’t make you to live on earth. He made you to be with him in heaven. God did not promise us that he will tell us whenever we are going to die. I know it sounds really sad but you are not promised tomorrow. That is why you have to trust in God everyday. Let God be in control do not resist him be open to him. Let go of all of your worries and put your faith in Jesus. Jesus wants to grow closer to you he just wants to talk to you. He wants you to talk to him like he is your best friend. Jesus loves each and everyone of us.
I teach 100 yards from the “Kingdom of God” on earth in the tabernacle and monstrance in perpetual adoration. Amazing! He continues to offer Himself up for us and stay with us. He is with us in prayer and when we say “Come, Holy Spirit”. I something that stuck out to me because it shows that Jesus is actually present with us and we get to chose if hes on the clouds or actually with us spiritually.
when the pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God will come he replied with no one can really say “oh there it is” or “hey look here is” . Jesus also says it is among us. i believe this is like the happiness we have on earth and the happiness we have in heaven. there is heaven on earth a temporary one whenever we are happy. and then when we die we will go to eternal heaven which is the happiness we fell here and more.
Jesus answers a question today that is always a heavy topic, when will God’s Kingdom come. Jesus answers, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” He also remarks, “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Meaning that the Kingdom of God is among us, and first he must suffer because of our sins.
What the scripture is telling me is that God is not far away, he is with us here and now. We killed God and hurt him everyday with our sins but he still loves us more than anything else.
I teach 100 yards from the “Kingdom of God” on earth in the tabernacle and monstrance in perpetual adoration. Amazing! He continues to offer Himself up for us and stay with us. He is with us in prayer and when we say “Come, Holy Spirit”. Is something that stuck out to me because it shows that we can chose weather Jesus is on the clouds watching from there or spiritually within us at church, in our homes, at school, etc.
What stuck out to me is when it said We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now (Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always. The reason this stuck out to me is because Its saying you can live two ways and which ever way you live will determine where you go for enternity you can focus your life on God and remember he is always their or you could just think that hes just someone who was here at one part of life. Cause he is our God and he’s someone that is always their even if you don’t realize it.
What God is trying to say is that; you can not see the kingdom of God, but you will someday. God is never slow or non-responsive he’s just patient in everything.
The Catholic Church had the end of the world pegged a long time ago. The world ended when Jesus died on the cross and resurrected conquering sin and death. We no longer have to live with Original Sin, the gates of heaven are open. that jesus died for us so we can go heaven and meet god and jesus
This is telling us that we cannot observe Heaven until Jesus has called us to observe it, when we die.
Today Jesus is telling us to not be caught up with people and what they say or think is right. Jesus wants to be our own person and not to also get caught with the devil he wants us to stay away from God instead of near him. God wants us to be with him even if our generation is not.
I like this part of the reading “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’or ‘There it is.’For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” Because it reminds me of what father said at Friday mass. The second half of the altar is in Heaven which I thought was kind of cool.
Very cool!
What stuck out to me is when you said there are 2 ways to think about God. It helps me think about God and who he is. 1: an old man on a cloud. 2: always in our hearts and never abandons us. The first one helps me think of a physical description of who God is. The second one helps me know who god is. What he is and does. He is love. We don’t know when he will return but we will have to be ready. We have to know God for who he truly is on the inside, not just his physical description.
What stuck out to me the most is how we can think about God in two ways. One is he is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud that one way you can think about him. 2 is in which God teaches us and what he is in prayer. God is always present and always wants to talk to you through prayer but we take it for granted and say our phones are to important for God so we never pray. His promise to us is to be with us forever. God doesn’t need us we need him and we cant just treat God like a option he is a priority we should always be praying even sometimes when it is hard to but we have to think about God and how he suffered for our sins. All he asks of us is to pray and preach the word of God.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stuck out to me because it means you can’t see it you have to believe and trust Jesus when he says that the Kingdom of God is among you.
“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” This stuck out to me because i feel like in this generation Jesus is being rejected by a lot of people even though he died for our sins. He died on the cross so we can go to Heaven, but our generation is rejecting His love and mercy. If we knew when Jesus was coming, do you think we would go to confession and be holy? I think we would wait until he comes and then we would, but we do not know, He could come tomorrow or in 3 million years. We have to be ready and not reject his love and mercy.
What stood Out to me was the We can think of God in two way. One, an old mad really far away sitting on a cloud ( not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now ( Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises he will be with us always. This stuck out because its saying that hes not some guy that watches from a distance and just sits there he is always us even when it seams like he doesent care about you or isnt answering your prayers he’s still with you and he may not be answering because its not his will.
in this passage it’s telling us that when Jesus appears we aren’t going to say “Oh look Jesus is coming” or “Jesus has appeared”. When Jesus or God appears toward us we would be terrified because that means that’s the second coming we wouldn’t be fulfilled, no. You might think this is dumb or nit correct but when Jesus comes down angels will too who would take us away from where we are just so we can go to purgatory. We will be judged by God like any other soul and we will either be lifted up or fall down. The second coming is good for us who believe in God but others who aren’t faithful would be scared. Scare of us and God which he doesn’t want us to be scared but people will for he is a celestial being and we are not.
The kingdom of God is with us always. We just have to be open to it and let it be shown to us. We can only wait for God to be shown to us. You cannot see it come to you because it is already there.
The Kingdom of God is among us. His Kingdom is in Church, prayer, adoration, and in any place we connect to Him. His Kingdom is here on earth! This means that an awesome way to connect with God is through nature. Jesus is always with us, even when we forget that He is. The Holy Spirit is always trying to speak to us, we just have to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit. And like Mr. Goertz said,The more we give ourselves away, the more we fill ourselves up¨.
What stuck out to me is that he promises He will be with us always. God is everywhere all of the time. Sometimes I forget that God is there to comfort me and I just get myself all tangled up in my emotions when really all i need to do is ask God for his comfort and pray to him , I know it can be hard at times but you have to remember that God is always there for you.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.
this verse reminds me of how it is now today you have to be super cool beautiful and have the coolest stuff
it shouldn’t be like that but it is so we shouldn’t not be friends with someone because of how they look or what they have.
We are in the presence of the Kingdom of God. We don’t have to look for it. It is here with us, when we attend Mass, the Kingdom of God is there.
I think that this Gospel is saying that heaven is right in front of us . We just have to do good on earth and when God calls our name, we will step forward into paradise.
I think this scripture means that we must stay on the path even if others say that there is another God. We have to stay faithful even if we are rejected by others for having our own beliefs and following the truth.
Jesus is always there for us. We should be thankful for him. he loves us and we need to love him to to make it to heaven.
I think the meaning of today’s scripture passage is that the Kingdom of God is among us. I think this is saying that Heaven is close, but in order to make it to heaven, we have to suffer and accept God. We also have to also realize that God is always with us, even when we can’t see Him.
What I can take from learning this week is that if we never give up on God, God will never give up on us. In the beginnings of the church Christians were getting persecuted everywhere but people were still preaching the word of God. We are struggling with half truths today and we are struggling with people lying about God. If we keep preaching the word we can grow even larger in all of our faith.
I think that this is saying is that the kingdom of God is always withing us. We can not see it so that is why some people do not believe. But we feel the presence of the Kingdom of God every time we pray or go to adoration or go to mass. We may not be able to see the kingdom of God but it is here within us and we just have to believe.
The Scripture is saying that no one will ever know when Jesus is going to save us so you should always be ready for when He comes. He will come when you least expect it.
we never know when the kingdom of God will come we never know when to prepare so we most always be prepared. God is mysterious and never know what he has in store for us.
The kingdom of God won’t come at a set time in a specific place. no matter how much you read the bible you’re not going to find a magical set of instructions leading you to the kingdom of God. the best we can do is try to live our life like Christ would and hope that some day we reach the kingdom. its is up to us what path we chose to go down in life, we can either live with Christ and live in holiness, or we can fall to the devils temptations and go down the wrong path.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” we are here on earth in a human body. we can not see god we can not feel god we can not use our seances to connect with god. we must believe in him. a lot of people think that seeing is believing and for those who say that i have one thing to say to you . GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY. you will be able to see Jesus Christ in the bread that you eat.
“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” This stood out to me because we all get hurt and bullied and teased. So it’s not something that goes away. When this line says by this generation He’s saying that the group of people from His time will hurt Him the most. We all feel that pain. If you have a sibling that you fight with all the time then you would understand that you get hurt all the time with words or actions for your brother or sister. If you’re in a fight with your friends then you would understand that it’s hard to gain trust with someone and that you don’t know what is going on in their life. So what I’m trying to say is don’t put people down just because you’re in a fight with them or you don’t like them just be kind and spread the gospels and spread joy everywhere. Someone who has a bad day help them make a great day.
Something that stuck out to me was the kingdom of God will always be with us. In the gospel Jesus tells us to repent and follow his path and the way to heaven is like an easy walk. He could have chosen to make us all what he wanted to make us but he chose to give us freedom. And that means he trusts us for what we do in our life. SO prove to God that you can make a difference with Jesus christ.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation. I think that this scripture is telling us that we always strive to be better than everyone else we have a desire to be popular, but that is not what Jesus tells us to do. We should be ourselves, even if you get rejected out of friend groups because your not as cool as some people, we are still children of God, and we should appriciate how much He loves us.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stuck out to me because God is here on earth we just cant see Him, but we can feel Him. In prayer or just in doing something good. I can usually feel Him when I do something good. It makes me feel all happy and I feel something inside of me. God is among us everyday. He is watching over us and He is in people. When we receive the Eucharist the Lord is inside us! We are so close to Him! But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Jesus wants to be with you but some people dont want to be with Him.
Jesus is present with us right now, but because of our mortality, we cannot see Him, and sometimes the unfaithful cannot feel Him. We must be faithful to God and His ways so we may always feel His love and be with Him in the Kingdom of God.
We often think that heaven is in the clouds above. We say stuff like “God looks down upon us.” and we pray with our fingers pointing up. But in all actuality, heaven is all around us.
The scripture today is telling me that you have to belive not look to see the goodness.
“For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” We always think of heaven as being up in space, far, far away. But God tells us that the kingdom of God is among us. It isn’t light-years away in some distant galaxy, it is here, on Earth, all around us.
“So will the Son of Man be in his day. But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” This phrase stuck out to me. Here it is said that the Son of Man will be in His day, but first he must suffer. Jesus suffered in the Passion, and was rejected by his generation (The Jews and Romans). So here is another prophecy that has been fulfilled by Jesus.
“‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’ Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.” When I read this, I think of Jesus telling the Apostles that when Jesus is going to be crucified, there will be people catching them and asking them if they know Him (Jesus). In the passage Jesus was telling them to say yes and not deny Him. But, they did deny him.
“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Jesus is telling us that we might not fit in with everyone because we choose our faith over choosing the devil. Sometimes we have to be the odd man out. If we choose not to cuss we might get weird looks because we are too “babyish”, but we will go to Heaven and the people that rejected God will have to face him during judgement day.
In today’s scripture it is talking about the Crucifixion of Jesus and the pain He went through to save us and is the reason were here. Without Him this place would not be here and we would also have sin forever. Jesus instead takes our sin and takes the pain.
I think the scripture is saying the ones who are patient receive the kingdom of God when the time comes. Because it says, “There will be those who will say to you,‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is. ‘Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other,so will the Son of Man be in his day.” The Son of Man, Jesus, is among us so we should not chase false gods or fake works to replace Him; if we do like lightning they will also go away in a flash.
It is saying that we will see our days coming to an end, but we will never know when you will see the kingdom of God. We can’t tell how far or how close it is to us.
This Scripture is talking about how the Kingdom of God is with us and we might not even realize that heaven is on earth it some what talks about how God is with us at all times and how he is teaching us etc. it also talks about how our generation is rejecting Jesus and the faith.
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
I think God is telling us here that we just need to believe. The Pharisees in this story today totally did not believe one word that came out of Jesus. Jesus even gave them signs in His lifetime to believe Him. They never would, they would always just shrug it off or make up a lies about how he had someone act a miracle out.
To be honest, at first I was a little confused about what the scripture was trying to say. But after reading it a few times I came to an understanding that the kingdom of God is all around us. God made everything in the world. All of us are too blind to see the Kingdom of God resembled in earth.
What I got from the scripture today was that we need to stop pretending like we know everything. There are some things in life that we will not be able to predict and we need to acknowledge that. “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce,¨ This is saying that our faith is the reason we believe in God. We don’t believe in Him just because we have evidence because that’s not what being Christian is about. It’s about having trust in God.
What I’m getting from this scripture reflection is that we won’t be able to tell or know when God is coming. We need to be ready for when that day comes. It could be tomorrow or the next day but we don’t know that. We need to start going to church and listen to what He is trying to tell us.
We will know when Jesus returns. Like the reading said, it will be like lighting lighting up the sky. Don’t ever think that you are going to miss Jesus’s coming, YOU WON’T. We also won’t miss heaven. Heaven is all around us right now. Heaven is on earth, do we see that? God doesn’t hide himself, he is always in the open, but do we take the time to look for him?
I think today’s gospel is very interesting. Jesus tells the people that the Kingdom of God is all around us. Then He tells His disciples to not look for Him when people talk about him. He says that he needs to be rejected before saving us, which he was. He knows of His fate, and I think the way he willingly accepts it is fascinating.
When you help someone, you take time out of whatever you’re doing to serve them. In return, they feel called to serve you in return. Whether it’s a simple as a “thank you” (Prayer of Thanksgiving) or giving money (tithing), we tend to give back (Stewardship). The same is true with God. We need to give back to God because no one knows when he will return. We have to realize that God wants us to be untied with him, so we have to do our part.
The Kingdom of God most don’t believe in. That’s because they don’t see it. Remember the “I’ll believe it when I see it”? Apply that here because people won’t believe it unless they see it. Now, no one can see it, but we can imagine it, and that is closest we can get in this world.
the gates of heaven are open, we have the Holy Spirit in us, we have God’s grace in the sacraments that Jesus set up while on earth, we have the Eucharist and confession, prayer, as we wait for the Second Coming
to me this means that we always have Jesus next to us even when we don’t hear or see him he is always with us.
“For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” This stood out to me because the kingdom of God isn’t far away from anybody. If you do something wrong it won’t go away, it’s gonna be by your side no matter what.
I think God is trying to tell us that He will come maybe not today maybe not for a hundred years or a thousand but eventually he will come and save us. Just because you cant see it now doesn´t mean it doesn´t exist

What i think when i hear these words is we have to let go of are worldly things and be like Mary.To let God fully in and to do what he says and follow him.
Today the thing that stuck out most to me was no one can predict when Jesus is coming back. But I feel this has somewhat two meanings, like the kingdom of God isn’t a thing or place. It isn’t like a certain pin point, even if you flew straight up you wouldn’t get to heaven. It is so weird, but our human minds can’t wrap around this. I find it really interesting how when we get to heaven everything will click (that’s what I’m told.) but also for me I’ve always wanted more wisdom wanting to know the things we can wrap our brains around. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see when Jesus comes back.
i feel like this is telling me the God is coming really soon and he is trying to tell everyone that and that he loves us everyday all day and he can never stop thinking about us and he will never stop loving us ever.
What does this mean? We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways. One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present). Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today. He is present right now (Jesus speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always. God is everywhere all of the time. He gave us a choice to think one way or another when is almost begging inside for us to choose him He is just waiting.
I think the Lord is trying to tell me one important thing here. He says that I am near, call on me for help. I often think that he does not want to be bothered by my stupid questions, or my obsessive nagging, but he wants to reached out to!
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”, that line really sticks out to me, I think that it shows me that heaven is so powerful that if we were to simply glance at it, we would disentigrate
“The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.” This shows that God will some day come down, we do not know when it will happen, but when it does we should not be afraid.
We often think that God is too far away. God is everywhere. God is with us now. We can speak to Him and be with Him all the time. We just need to make time to talk to him.

What I got from this was if you do one good thing you can’t just say you’re gonna go to Heaven now, you have to love God and follow His teachings. We don’t know when He is coming so we have to do what we can before He does.
Today the scripture talks about how the kingdom of God is already here with us. This is the part that really gets me personally because The fact that the kingdom is not that far away from us at school if amazing. when father Jarrod says that the other half of the altar is in heaven is just amazing to me. God is not something that is far away and doesn’t listen to us. we need to listen for his call and be patient.
Heaven is always open to us and ww should be closer to God. If we are then we will be at peace and never want to leave Mass

to me, this means we need to turn to God because if we ignore Him then we will not have eternal life.
Hi! Have a great day! -Emily and Rachel
Hi! I miss you guys, I hope all is well!

“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” This stuck out to me because most of the world rejects Christ. They don’t want his love and mercy. We just want to be popular or fit in. Instead we should accept his love and mercy because we don’t know when he will come. If we knew when he was coming then we wouldn’t be as holy and read the bible because we know when he is coming. He could come right at this second or in a billion years. We always need to be ready because we don’t know when he is coming.
You don’t know when Jesus is coming. You have to be ready. You should pray and talk to God to know him better.
“The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. There will be those who will say to you, ‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’ Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” LK 17:20-25….. this paragraph stuck out to me because it is really important to remember.
Jesus answers a question today that is always a heavy topic, when will God’s Kingdom come. Jesus answers, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” He also remarks, “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.”
What stuck out to me is that the kingdom of God cannot be observed it stuck out to me because it proves that God is there without any scientist to tell you that he exist and you have to trust in him.
What stuck out to me was that the Kingdom of God is right now and he will always be present with us and he is everywhere.
the most important thing in this passage to me is the emphasis that the kingdom of god has been, and always will be thriving and God will always be present with all of us.
Today Jesus is telling us to not be caught up with people and what they say or think is right. Jesus wants to be our own person and not to also get caught with the devil he wants us to stay away from God instead of near him. God wants us to be with him even if our generation is not.
God is always around us,his kingdom,Sure the second coming has not come yet but the second
coming is Christ coming in body and blood,he could have left us for killing him but he stayed and he never will leave.
