Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem,
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan,
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known. MK 3:7-12
Why do people desire Jesus? On the surface, because he heals them. Spiritually, he has mercy on them as a sinner and frees them from sin. More deeply though, He has what we want, POWER! Lucifer, the fallen angel, the most powerful angel wanted that power more than anything and could not have it. Today, Lucifer continues to seek and destroy love wherever he can, especially marriage and the family is under attack. We want to control everything in our lives and we are so upset when our plans don’t work out. We are upset when we can’t control people in our relationships and make them do what we want. Power when used incorrectly is about popularity or status, wealth, strength, high positions, awards, and achievement. It is not wrong to achieve when we use the gifts God has blessed us with to the best of our ability to share with others. The problem is when we obsess over it, work too many hours and leave our families behind, miss Mass for weekend sports tournaments, and have to go into extreme debt to keep up a fake life of wealth to keep up our status. Mother Teresa said, “In the end, it is always between you and God.”
Jesus has done an amazing job of revealing Himself to us in the last 3 weeks. He comes to us as a baby, completely innocent and poor. He is revealed at the Epiphany and worshiped by earthly kings recognizing Him as the one who has all of the POWER and is the one True King. He is adored by the shepherds who were told by angels that God is on earth to bring peace to His people. Zechariah and Anna reveal at the Presentation in the temple, “This child will be responsible for the rise and fall of many in Israel”. Mary’s heart is pierced which begins a sorrowful and suffering heart that recognizes the most POWERFUL will have to suffer and die to REDEEM all sinners. Then, John the Baptist speaks prophetic words, “Behold, the Lamb of God”. God speaks from the heavens and says, “This is my beloved Son of whom I am well pleased”. Now, we enter into Jesus’s healing ministry in the Gospel of Mark. This is to fulfill prophecies from the Old Testament about a Messiah who will come to save His people. It is to draw people to Him. But, most importantly it is to teach us how to use POWER correctly, by SERVING and HUMILITY. Jesus uses the greatest power to serve. He uses it to love. He uses it to have compassion on others.
Most importantly, we struggle with POWER every day of our lives. If we truly desire God in our hearts, we must let go of all of our power and submit to the ONE POWER that can make us the most joyful in this life and the next. Our identity is in the GREATEST POWER through His death and resurrection, we are made in His image and likeness, we are baptized into His family and become His child, through the blood of Christ we become His brother or sister, the GREATEST POWER lives in us and is given to us in the SACRAMENTS. God’s grace is His life in us. This is why the saints went to Mass daily sometimes more and to confession sometimes daily or weekly. They recognized how POWERLESS they were and how much POWER God had to help them be holy and fight Satan. Our greatest POWER is living to be the person God made us to be and sharing that with others. God’s love is the most POWERFUL thing in the world. It conquered sin and death. It overcomes evil and darkness in our world. It forgives and is for giving. It heals. It changes lives and creates lives. Most importantly, God’s POWER is LOVE. There is no greater POWER than God’s LOVE in all the world. NOTHING has ever beat God’s LOVE!!! Our POWER is pale in comparison to God’s POWER. We will be held accountable by this POWER on judgment day. At some point we are going to have to submit to the POWER that created us, it would be smart not to let that be our death bed. It would also be wise to humbly submit to Him, give Him everything, visit Him daily in prayer, invite Him into our daily activities and especially our temptations, visit His mother daily and ask for her help since He told us to from the Cross, receive Him at Mass, and share Him with others by modeling Him in our lives being who we were created to be. Why do people desire Jesus and want to get so close to Him and crush Him? Holiness is attractive. He is the Way to our heavenly home. He gives us the POWER to get there and the joy is overwhelming.
Today’s challenge: Make a habit of getting up early in the morning to spend time with Jesus to make Him the center of your life, not just a part of your life. Give up yourself totally and completely to Him through Mary and everything you own. Allow Him to have power over you, so that you have power over the Devil and your desires.
Be a servant, become a saint!

I think Jesus is trying to tell us to trust him and he will take care of us.
We want Jesus in every aspect of our life. spiritually and physically.
Jesus is trying to tell us today that if we believe that He is truly the Son of God then good things will happen.
I took that we need to give up our worldly powers because they will mean nothing when we die and they have no power over God.
This passage tells me to have patience and not to rush Jesus and wait for him to heal you
We all need healing in this world. I think God is trying to tel us that when your with him you can do anything.
I think that Jesus is telling me that all types of people were following him. He wants me to now what type I am.
today god is telling me to calm down and don´t be stressed about any thing because he will take it all away from me once I´m done
Jesus is doing so many good things for the world that he is being followed by thousands of people and so many people follow him that he has to get in a boat and go in to the water to avoid being crushed by the people.
We need to understand that God is all we need.
people to create a daily habit to bring themselves to Jesus in the Scriptures.
This show us that God can heal anyone and everyone wants to see Him. He is truly the Son of God and shows how we all want healing from Him. He is the only one who can heal our soul.
Today´s gospel has Jesus being crowded with people trying to get healed from him. So many people came that it got over-crowded and he was being squished. He told his disciples to ready the boat so he can go on his way. I think that us today should be like that. We should get so excited over Christ every Sunday that we over crowd the church. Jesus told his disciples to make the boat ready and i think that´s telling me to be ready for Jesus coming again. People knew of his holiness so they decided to crowd up on him and that´s an example on how holiness is attractive.
I learned not to fall into the devils temptations and evil desires.
Jesus became so popular that people form all over came just to be cured of their diseases. He had so many people follow him that he had a boat ready so that he could escape if needed. All of the people came so that they may be made clean. We should do the same by going to reconciliation.
God is a amazing and all powerful being. His love is so overwhelming. We need to follow and love him as he did for us.
Even everything if you are busy with work, school, sports or anything else that would keep you away from God and the Church, won’t matter in the end. When it is time, you and God are the only one. We must take our time to pray to Jesus.
I learned that so many people from all over the place wanted to see Jesus and get healed that his apostles had to get a boat ready for him so he was not overrun by people. This is amazing to me that so many people believed he was the Son of God yet they crucified him.
To me this is saying that some evil spirits knew who Jesus was but Jesus did not want them to make him known and the spirits also fell to the ground because Jesus was there.
In today’s reading we find a crowd waiting for Jesus and they call him the son of God, but he tells them to no make him know. Jesus is being humble in the situation and not trying to cause attention to himself even though he is the son of God. Sometimes we put Jesus down and save him for later when we should always be thinking about him and worship hi all the time. He should be the center of our life and sometimes we drift away from that.
Todays scripture tells me that God is love. That his power is his love for us.It also explains how he trys to reveal himself to us in many ways.
Who is the most famous person you have seen? This is how Father Labenz started his homily today. He went and asked all the teachers and they all said some good answers, one said Pope John Paul II, and a couple others said artists. Father said his was Jesus. It made me really think at first, but then I understood it. We as parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School have the ability to see Jesus everyday, when ever we want we are able to go to Adoration and spend time with him. We also can go to Mass and receive Jesus and be as close to him as possible. We should take advantage of all these gifts that we were given.
He is saying that we need to believe and trust in him and great things will happen if we follow him
God is amazing and we don realize that. He loves with all his heart and we don love him back. We need to make an effort to become closer to him.
i think Jesus is telling us to be obedient to Him, and He will take care of our needs
What this reading is telling me, is that God is all we need. We need to get excited over him as the crowd did. God will always be there for us we just need to recognize that He is all we need to live a good, healthy, strong Catholic life.
we need to go to the one power-Jesus and dont concentrate on other stuff
I noticed how Jesus warns the unclean spirits not to let him be known. It is surprising that he doesn’t want them to spread his good news. I think he does this so he can find those who truly believe and don’t need “proof” that he is the Son of God.
That we should trust God in every single way possible b\c he created us and therefore we need to love, care, and trust him with every single bit of our hearts.
I think Jesus is tellling us to follow him and trust in his ways.
Often in life, we want to have power and money. However, God, who really was all powerful, gave himself up to save us. We need to give up money and instead trust Jesus, because money will not get you to Heaven.
I think it is telling us we need Jesus spiritually and physically
I think that this is trying to tell me that we need to use our “power” responsibly and give up our worldly desires.
I think this means to me that every one wants to be healed and so they fall down and shout him out.
I think if we put God into the aspect of our life everything will be good you will have no worries nor bouts. Just trust and follow him and God will provide.
It means I need to show my faith more
If we believe in him, and we follow his commandments, pray, and act like him, we will experience good things.
WE need to know that God is hear for us and we need him in our lives.
This shows truth among up it tells us we need to be humble everyone should read this if they just shrug it off that is their problem. We need God to live a truly happy life and people who don´t understand that has a problem with their logic.
Jesus is trying to tell us to come to him when we need him and to not be afraid.
The Jesus shock in this unbelievable and how he has to get a boat to not get crushed!
In today’s Scripture Reflect, Jesus is telling us to use the gifts that we are given for good and not bad. And take advantage of these gifts to help us grow in holiness.
We need God in Our Personal Life. Jesus is the son of God, and as humans we are supposed to want him for every part of our natural lives. It is however not unnatural to reject God, and he will still love us. We must go back to God, for he always wants us to come back to him. So we must have in in our lives, as the blog writer said, “so that we may have power over the Devil and your desires.” Meaning of we embrace God, he will give us his Grace allowing us to do such things.
Thanks
Jesus is trying to come heal us but not all at once he wants us to be healed one at a time as fast as he can heal us
Today’s Scripture is showing how God comes into this world many ways and try’s to reveal himself to us, we just sometimes can find it.
We need Jesus in our life weather it be spiritually or mentally we need him right by our side.
We see Jesus every in our hearts and the darkness in our hearts try to crush Jesus and get him out of our hearts, but we can’t let the darkness get in and consume us.
Todays reading tells me that God loves everything and he is everything we need nothing more because God is everything and made everthing. Also to never fall into the devils temptations because when we go into sin that takes us farther from God, but God will still Love us no matter what we did and he will be waiting for us to return to him
This teaches us that God has a great love for us. He also is very powerful and great. We should love and worship God as He loved us.
I think this means that when we sin or turn away from God, its like crushing the boat, and then when we go to confession we have the boat straightened out and cleaned. God will love us no matter what we do, and he will always forgive us.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that he will cure people from diseases and he cares about us enough to do that, we should thank him for all he has done for us and we should love him like he does to us
In this reading tons of people are standing in a large group waiting and begging for Jesus to heal them. I think that we need to be like that i think that we should be begging for forgiveness and not falling away. We need to put God before everything. We need to understand that Jesus is the Son of God and that he truly is the Eucharist. We need to draw closer to God and far, far, far away from the devil. We need to strive to act like Jesus. We need to love Jesus.
Todays message talks about how everyone wants power then it gives us an example of why having power can be bad. They talked about lucifer and how because he wanted power he became a fallen angel. but we all know that God will never be overwhelmed with power and he will always love us
I think God is trying to say, be merciful and to take away the things that block us from God.
Jesus heals everyone and then tells them not to tell anyone.
That will definitely work…
Because they are an excited crowd of thousands of peoples
They’re gonna tell everyone
because they want their friends to heal, too.
I feel like God is call all of us to do something great so we should lines to him
think God is trying to say, be merciful We want Jesus in every aspect of our life f we believe in him, and we follow his commandments, pray, and act like him, we will experience good things.
I think that Jesus is telling us that if we follow Him and put our trust in Him good things will come.
It is telling me that God is all we need in our lives
We know Jesus can heal our sins, so we must ask him for his forgiveness for our sins. If you are having a bad time, you can ask Jesus to help you and take away your sorrows.
Jesus is telling us to trust in him and he will take care of us.
Jesus was so famous for healing people at His time, but even now He still heals people so many still do not believe.
I think Jesus was telling us to have faith in him and we will be cured from whatever mental or physical illness we have.
Jesus, Jesus,Jesus. We need him so much. If we don’t have him we will never survive.
I think Jesus is trying to tell me that material goods and other distractions often get in the way of our faith and that we need to focus on Jesus instead.
Jesus went away form the people so that his physical form would not be crushed but that he may also stay exclusive and preach to the people and only make miracles when he needed to teach a lesson with the healing. I think that God is trying to tell us that only those who were the most persistent would be on a boat trying to follow Christ out into the Sea.
Jesus wants us to find out for ourselves that he is the Son of God, and to believe that.
Jesus is saying today that He needs to be humble. He doesn’t want to be a known king, He just wants to be a part of our lives.
We should love God and Jesus for who He is, not what He can do.
We need to understand that God is all we need. We always need Jesus in our life because He is the most important person.
Jesus is telling me to be patient and wait for Jesus to bless me.
we must be paitent for the lord to come
I believe God is telling us that through Jesus he understands man greater. He understands sometimes we are under pressure and we need to get away. He understands us more than we know through Jesus
God is powerful and we should block out any other power that leads us to sin.
Jesus tells the disciples not to go spread his miracles however, they are meant to spread the good news so they go out and proclaim his miracles everywhere so that people of all ages size and color can be healed by Jesus.
We have a desire for Jesus, so why do we try so hard to push him away sometimes or why it´s so easy to sin. Sometimes we want power, wealth, and riches. We should want to spend eternity with God and not have to worry about our worldy things. God is calling us into HIs kingdom and he welcomes us with open arms and forgiveness. We should try our best to do good and not fall towards sin and power.
I think God is telling us that we need to follow him so great things can happen to us. Not to try and be his friend and use him.
I think Jesus is trying to say the we should just trust in him and follow him more in this passage.
I think God is really trying to tell me if that I believe in him, everything will fall into place. God is with us at every aspect and we need to trust him fully. Some people want a lot of power, the issue with that is that Lucifer waned the power and now he’s in hell. God has the most abundant love and power and we should accept him to the fullest.
Today gospel is saying that we should worship God. We all want to be holy so we all wan tot become closer to Christ. In the gospel the people are no Jesus because they want to be as holy as him.
God is trying to tell us that if we believe in him then good things will happen. When we get these good things then we must take advantage of them.
Jesus is telling me that I need to come to Him more and that I need to read the Scriptures and just spend more time with Him.
I think that God is telling us let him love us and love him and our neighbor back
Jesus is telling us to turn away from sin and get on the boat so you are not crushed by the temptation to sin. PRAISE HIM!!!!!!
That we need to try to not fall with the devil and fall with God
God is telling us that we need to not fall into temptations and we need to be open to God´s call. If we are willing to give up everything for God then we will make it into heaven if we are true to him.
Today’s gospel is telling us that we need to strive to have Jesus be a part of our lives. We need to want to have a close relationship with Him in order to live our lives the fullest.
Don’t just talk to God when you need him but talk to him everyday.
we need to follow Jesus and lead other to Him
We need to respect God and follow his teachings.
Today God is telling us that we mean something to him and that he loves us so much we could not even compare to how much he loves us. Also that we should be messangers for God, Mary, and Jesus and to try our best not to be jealous of what other people have and just to be grateful for what we have.
Today Jesus is saying that even He needs some personal space. Everyone gets uncomfortable when we are crowded around. Jesus needed to get out to water to stop the people. Even in great numbers, Jesus will do what is needed to help us.
God is trying to tell me that we need to try to take all the bad out of our lives for the good.
Jesus is telling me that we need to go to him more often. Yes, he is always waiting for him but that doesn’t mean to save him only when we need something he’s not a negotiator he gives us these things because he love us and wants us to want him.
Jesus is telling me that He is the most important person in my life. Jesus, in the Gospel, was so wanted that the people were crushing Him. That is what Mass should be like. They should need security to hold people back from the Eucharist.
Jesus is God
God is always going to be here for us. We need to understand that but instead of asking Jesus for help we blame him. We are in the wrong for doing this.
this is telling us that we desire Jesus because he sacrificed his self for us to get to heaven. And that he heals us to because he cares about us.
God is all powerful and will always be their to help us if we let Him. All we need is Jesus!
God is showing us that we all need him and what we truly want is him. This shows that God is not selfish and will always put others before himself. God is especially thoughtful. I am so glad God is in my life.
We should want Jesus in our life all the time
This story is saying that all unclean people run to God knowing that Jesus has the power to make them clean. Everyone runs to God because of different things and God is always there for them.
we must put jesus before everything and before ourselves. Nobody can be god and we need to understand that god is the most important thing in our life.
This is telling us that God is love. Gods power is love and forgiveness. God will always be there for us, and we need to appreciate Him and praise Him.
We need to follow God just like these crowds did when he was alive. We need to listen to what he is telling us to do through our lives.
This tells us that God is the most powerful being. The devil says he’s powerful, which he is, but not as much as God is. That is why we worship and idolize him. He has the power that lead us to heaven. So we should try our absolute best to keep sin out of our lives.
God is showing us that we need him even when we think we don´t need him we really do , more than anything in the world. That there is nothing else like him and that we can´t live without him. he wants to be apart of our lives. Even if that means that he wasn´t know as a king. He is still our king.
We need to not rely on ourselves to live a holy life we need to have God help us.
Jesus loves us and he is the most powerful and we should make Him the center of our lives. He has all the power, not us. We need to worship Him and love Him.
We all want Jesus, we all want God, it’s in our nature to recognize power and want it. We try to fight God and stay away from Him, but once you actually get to know him there is no going back, you can’t turn away. We want power, God gives us this, he gave us every thing. Yet we still want more. We should be more like Jesus, known (possibly), but humble. He just wants to be with us, near us, and share every moment with us.
This tells me that today that we should no our place that we are not number 1 but God is. We need to pray and worship God but not as a Pharaoh like a guardian or a friend. God just want to be apart of our lives.
in todays Gospel Jesus is being humble. He doesn’t want people to know the son of God. He is showing us that we need to be humble and not show off or brag.
Jesus is showing us today that we need him and without him we will fall apart. On the inside we will be shining bright with Jesus. But without Jesus we will be dull on the inside and dark.
I think God is telling us, that when we sin or be mean to other people, we break the boat. When we go to confession and receive the eucharist we clean and fix the broken boat. We need to stop being mean to others, when we are mean to others we break there trust and we need to keep others trust.
This shows that we continue to go back to God because we know he can do great things and we rejoice in him because we know he can heal our soul and help us when we need it. He will do whatever he can for his children to be happy and trust in him. God calls us back to him so he can heal our sorrows, our sickness, our struggles in life, and our sins. He will help us and forgive us no matter what.
Jesus/God is the powerful one, we need to be humble about ourselves and boast to others the miracles that God can work.
I personally took from this passage that, we need to be wanting and needing to go to church on Sunday or any day so that we overflow and crowd the church up. We all need to be motivated or need to desire to be with Jesus. The boat in my opinion represents, that even though he died on the cross and “left” us (Which he is always with us) the boat he “left” on will come back one day, meaning he will come back one day.
That we all need to desire to crowd and overflow the church on Sunday, or really any day. The boat represents that even though he died and “left” us (even though he is always with us) , he will come back to us.
Everyone wants to have power. Everyone has an ego. Some want to protect that ego or power by being someone else rather then their selves. GOD PUT US ON THIS EARTH TO BE OURSELVES!!!! If he wanted us to be copies he would have spent no effort and made everyone the same, but he didn’t! He made us individually unique and to be ONE IN HIM. To be followers of him. Not to have an ego and power over others, but to love and be ourselves. We don’t need to be powerful to be Holy. WE JUST NEED HIM. Jesus came to this world as a baby to a carpenter, born in a barn and laid in an animal feeding trough, yet he is the SON of GOD. Jesus was never a kind like king Harrod was, he never sat on a throne on like other kings of earth, but he was the son of God. He is The SON of GOD. We need a world that lives like Jesus. Holy, humble, and self giving. That will make a perfect world.
Jesus want us to find put that he is God.
