Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd,
Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the roadside begging.
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out and say,
“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.
But he kept calling out all the more,
“Son of David, have pity on me.”
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called the blind man, saying to him,
“Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way. Mk 10:46-52

Today we hear the Jesus prayer: “Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”  We hear a man who is physically blind  (symbolically all who do not see Jesus or open themselves to the Truth) persevere and continue to call upon Jesus (faithful servant).  Jesus already knowing what the blind man wanted asks Him, “What do you want me to do for you?”  The blind man replies what all of us desire in our hearts, “Master, I want to see.”  Things are so blurry in our lives without Jesus and His Words.  We are easily confused and our faith is weak if we do not stay close to Christ.  We are lied to every time we turn on the TV, Internet, and radio.  These people want your money and don’t care about your soul.  It is our job to take care of our soul and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, so that when He comes and asks us, “What do you want me to do for you?” we will reply, “Master, I want to see” and come into the Kingdom.

Today’s challenge: Turn off your electronics and pray more.  Reflect on what you spend more time looking at with your eyes. Set a goal to change it one day at a time.  Find one to two minutes everyday in the same place and at the same time viewing Christ in the Scriptures, Adoration, Eucharist, and the people around you.
