Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to the Pharisees:
“There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day.
And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the rich man’s table.
Dogs even used to come and lick his sores.
When the poor man died,
he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham.
The rich man also died and was buried,
and from the netherworld, where he was in torment,
he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off
and Lazarus at his side.
And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me.
Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.’
Abraham replied, ‘My child,
remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad;
but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.
Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established
to prevent anyone from crossing
who might wish to go from our side to yours
or from your side to ours.’
He said, ‘Then I beg you, father, send him
to my father’s house,
for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them,
lest they too come to this place of torment.’
But Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets.
Let them listen to them.’
He said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham,
but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
Then Abraham said,
‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded
if someone should rise from the dead.’” LK 16:19-31
Jesus teaches us today what happens if we don’t bring the Gospel to people. We have one shot to get this right (#Christian YOLO). We are living in the end times, the times after Jesus’ resurrection. “If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.” We have the Word of God in the Bible, God’s breath, to teach us how to gain salvation (God’s will for us: He has one great desire, that you and I are with Him in heaven, our salvation-Pope Francis) and lead others to Christ. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us to virtue.
Today’s Gospel teaches us there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. The time we have here is a gift. Since Jesus rose from the dead, this life is not the final horizon. We are made for a spiritual homeland. It is time to start rearranging our priorities and live putting our full trust in God. Today is a great time to rearrange priorities and dust away the cobwebs of a hardened heart. It is a time to love our soul more than our body. We cannot take THINGS, power, money, pleasure or honor (4 things we must despise that we think will make us happy-St. Thomas Aquinas). All we can take is the times we were unselfish and put others before self, the times we loved as Jesus loves us.
Today’s challenge: Live like today is your last day on earth. What would you do differently? What legacy do you want to leave behind. Most regrets on death beds are not loving as much as they should have; love of spouse, love of parents, love of children, or spending more time with God and family. Put down your electronics and spend time loving God and family. There are no second chances after we die. We don’t know the day or the hour the Master will return. We don’t know when God is going to call our number. Most importantly, He just wants to be your best friend!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
No matter who we are, Jesus will always love us just like he loved Lazarus.
I can apply this to my life by talking about jesus to my not Catholic friends.
In the Gospel today, Jesus is saying that it doesn’t matter how wealthy you are or how poor you are. If you’re not a good person, then it is all for nothing.
I can apply this to my life py talking about Jesus to my non Catholic friends.
I can apply this to my life by listening to God and his word. I can also donate clothes to charity that don’t fit for the people that don’t have much like Lazarus.
YOLO. We have 1 chance to live our life for good. God has shown us what to do, we just need to believe and trust in Him.
In this passage we learn multiple things. One of which being that when we are living we should give what we have to others who don’t have anything. We must not be super attached to our material items because in Heaven we won’t have any of them anyways. The second thing is that we believe there will be a great chasm separating us wether we be in Heaven or in Hell with our sin. We must make good choices and suffer here on earth so that we can live eternity rejoicing with the Lord.
In the Gospel today, Jesus is telling us that it doesnt matter how weathy or poor you are. If you aren’t a good, kind, holy person, then it will be all for nothing.
wealthy*
I think that if we help the homeless because we feel a burden to do it, then we are not getting anything out of it but if we do it because it is something that we are able to built upon and are able to help others while helping ourselves get closer to heaven.
I can apply this to my life by Praying to God and by living today as if it was the last day of my life
The reading today is talking about how the rich man didn’t help the poor man. I can reflect by thinking my choose and choose the good way and help out.
Jesus is trying to tell us to not be selfish. It’s good to have nice things, but if we don’t give to those in need when we can, then we’re being selfish. Jesus, who could’ve had everything, chose to instead give his entire self up for us. If we don’t give our extra belongings, our extra time, then we’re being selfish, and like the rich man in this parable, then maybe we don’t belong in Heaven.
I can apply this scripture to my life by remembering that everyday that I am on this earth is for a reason. Everthing that happens in my lif, God has already planned for me. I need to be more thankful for all the opportunity’s that God has given me and use them to the fullest of my ability.
We need to stop worring so much about the future and live in the present. We need to stop worring so much about our electronics and worry more about our relationship with God. Thier are no second chances after we die. God knows when it’s our time but we don’t so we need to live each day like its our last.
This Gospel teaches me that suffering is a part of life. I see that Lazarus had suffered greatly through his life and offered it up to God. We have to be generous with others if we have things. It is like if we suffer on earth, then it kind of cleanses us. Because us humans have sin, we must have our sins washed away. If we have things that we have and see people in need we must be generous to others. We must treat others the way we want to be treated. If we have no suffering on earth, then where is our cleansing? Like you said, there are no second chances in our eternal life. Some of us have an abundant amount of things, and we can use these things to help others instead of being selfish.
One thing that I can take away from this gospel is to remember that our time on earth is finite, but our time after earth is infinite. We need to remember that when we are about to sin, and to ask ourselves, would we like to have pleasure on earth, or eternal joy in heaven.
We only get one shot at life on earth. How we spend that time here is what defines how our eternal life. We have to love God and others and perform God’s will. Part of loving others is guiding them in the correct path.
Lazarus had nothing. He had nothing and still went to Heaven. The rich man had so many things. He went to Hell. What does this tell us? That we should give up everything we have and follow Jesus. We’re so obsessed with our stuff that we often forget how important our faith is. That’s why we need to give things up for Lent, to remind ourselves why we have our faith.
Jesus is trying to say that he will always be here for us whenever we need him. We always need him but when he needs to heal us he will help us. We have to listen to what he’s saying in order to go to heaven because Jesus needs to persuade us.
The rich man was selfish and greedy during his life. Yet in his after life he died he paid for what he did. He paid in Hell for his selfishness on Earth yet the porr man lazerous, who had done nothing substantial went to Heaven. You do not have to perform miricles to be a saint just me an example of selflessness.
Poor*
In today’s scripture, we learn about a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus. We hear how the rich man lived a gluttonous life on Earth, while the poor man lived begging for food and care. When the men both died, the rich man was sent to Hell while the poor man was sent to Heaven. We learn about how the rich man finally repented, but it was already too late. He tells Jesus to send a sign to his family to warn them so they may get to Heaven, but Jesus says that there are already signs. From this scripture, we realise that we only have one shot at getting to Heaven. We must try our best and look at the many signs that Jesus sent us like the scripture, the sacraments and Mass. Most of us probably live like the rich man, so Jesus gives us this scripture to reflect on what we do on Earth, to make sure we are able get to Heaven.
We making our Catholic life better by praying. We should always pray and teach what Catholicism really is. One day we will be adults teaching our kids to be Catholic so we should practice being better Chatholics.
I can paply this to my life by realizing that you can not take earthly things with you to Paradise.
Alright, time to go back in time to our PBS kids childhood and become the monkey that loves to explore things. God is the man in the yellow hat, and we are Curious George. We like to explore things and go too far so that could we potentially hurt us. But the man in the yellow hat tells us what we should do so that we don’t do that.
The Gospel is talking about suffering. Lazarus suffered all his life, and in his suffering, we see him carrying a cross. The rich man wasn’t carrying a cross. He “dined sumptuously each day” Jesus says. “And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the rich man’s table.” Obviously, the rich man sees Lazarus. But he never gives him the slightest words. In a different Gospel, Jesus says that we have to bear a cross “daily” to reach heaven. Lazarus is doing this. The rich man is oblivious, and he doesn’t realize what he is doing to himself. How can he have become so blind? The rich man represents our society, our culture, who is a deaf society, and is a blind culture. If a baby is intruding in their love affair, they are willing to abort it. If the wife is out of the house, they are willing to sacrifice a beautiful marriage for pleasure.
Today’s Gospel is telling me that when we die, the physical things we had mean nothing to us anymore. The rich man had anything he could ever want. But when he died, he was sent to the netherworld for it. Meanwhile, Lazarus, the poor man, spent his whole life on earth in the complete opposite. And he was sent to Heaven for it. When we put to much attention on our physical things, how are we supposed to make time for God?
In this Gospel God is telling us that if we go to Hell there’s no getting out your their for eternity and will ssee those in Heaven thta you treated wrong and look at them and wish that you were there with them. The last lines of the scriptures says that evn if they see a dead man rise from the dead from Jesus or anyone they would still not belive. That is very similar right noe because a lot of people in the world would just go to science and say that he was not fully dead and not believe because their heart is hard and they are not opoen to God. That is why we need to pray for these people so they can have a changing of heart to come to Jesus.
I can put this into my life by knowing that when I hope for my enjoyment more than others and don’t care what they get, then I need to realize I was put in the world to love, so I shouldn’t care if I’m loved because I only need Jesus’ love.
this gospel shows that if we are humble and suffer, then we are to have everything we could ever want in heaven. But if we are not humble and have lots of things things than we will suffer in hell. but if we do not do what God has tought us through the bible and the saints than we do not deserve a second chance.
In today’s Gosple we learn that if we don’t spread the word of our Savior Jesus Christ in the Gosple to the world around us it will come back later in life in haunt us. We need to not be scared and express our faith to the Lord. He died for our sins so that one day we can go to heaven and seek eternal rest with him. We can only get there one way though and that is by living out faith. Jesus loves us so much so we need to love him so much back in return and jsut sit down and pray with him everynight and show him how much we care. He truly does love us no matter if were wrong or right so if we spread his word we will be with him forever and ever.
What I took away from the reading today is that we need to spead the gospel. We need to help others find peace and joy in todays harsh world. The more people we help, the more people that can live peacefully with God.
We are selfish creatures with greedy hearts like the rich man, but we need to trust that knows what is best for us.
We need to do the right thing before its too late. If we don’t do the right thing, like the rich man, we will be tormented. Whereas if we are kind and help others in more need than ourselves, we will find comfort with God. The rich man saw Lazarus at his door but he decided to leave Lazarus and have all of his possesions to himself. This is extremely selfish, and because of this, God punished him. Lazarus lived a humbled life, living as a poor man and most likely sickly. When he died, God brought him up into Heaven to have eternal comfort. This is what we should strive to be like. We need to be humble and kind to everyone, and at the end of our time on earth, if we have met this criteria, we may go to Heaven if God wills it.
We are to cuaght up in the drama that the world has that we completely forget about Jesus. God sent His son down to help us and to save us. Jesus died on a cross for us to be able to go to heaven after the end of times. We have no second time on Earth we either submit oursleves to God or we become selfish.
We only get one life to live, so we should live it right. We should live everyday like it’s our last, because it might be. We don’t know when we will die, so we should love everyone and spend our days doing what is right and good. Everyone should live their life with complete trust in God and loving like he would.
What i got from this scripture is that asking for forgiveness is real, go to confession and ask god for forgiveness. Pray more and ask God for help when you need it most. Turning to God for needs is your best option.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that there will not be a second chance in Heaven. I need to live today by rearranging my priorities and putting my trust in God. God knows what is going to happen to me, and I need to be faithful to Him and entrust Him with my problems. He only wants to be my friend, and by letting Him into my life, I can live a happier life by obeying Him and helping others.
I can apply this scripture to my life by doing the right thing. We only have a certain time and we need to do great things for others. We can give to the poor, preach to others, and many thing to help ohters in their lives. You never know whats gonna happen next so we need to do the right thing for others before its to late.
The scripture is saying that we should not be connected to earthly things. The rich man live a life of comfort on earth to go to hell while Lazarus suffered on earth to get eternal life in heaven with God. If we want to get to heaven, we should suffer like Lazarus.
In today’s gospel, God is telling us that there is a chasm that cannot be crossed. I think that God is trying to tell us that, after a certain point of wrong doing and not repenting, we will not be able to recieve eternal life. Lazarus was a poor man who lived a poor life, but he was rewarded in Heaven. The rich man was a rich man who also lived a poor life. The rich man did not repent and help lazarus so he was punished in Hell. God is telling us that giving of yourself even just a little bit, is a good thing and you therefore, will be rewarded for it. But repentance and faith are also important. The rich man felt no shame for not helping Lazarus and just assumed he would go to heaven. He didn’t repent, but he wanted to save his brothers and family. If they do not have faith and believe on their own, then it will be them in the same place as the rich man.
In this scripture there was a rich man and Lazarus a poor man. The rich man didn’t take him in. And when they both died Lazarus went to Heaven and the rich man when to hell. I think this is beautiful and it teaches us to take care of others and to treat others how you want to be treated.
The gospel today says that their are no second chances when it comes to iternal life and that the time we have here is a gift. We should put our fill trust in God. We can not take physical things into heaven no money, electronics, just your soul. It is a time to love your sould more than your body.
We get no second chances for eternal life. Are we gonna make it the best life by suffering for christ or are we gonna make our lives one that he suffers from. You get to chose your life after death by the way you act and treat others now so are you gonna be beaten and burned and a ton more or are you gonna have a peacful enjouable rest. You can chose so what are you gonna chose.
Miracles can happen. If you have stuff going on in you’re life just pray to him. Ask and you shall recieve.
The physical things we think we need do not matter. The rich man had everything he wanted, but left no time to pray or thank God for all He has given him. There are no second chances when it comes to Heaven. We have one life to give to God.
Jesus is trying to tell us that our good fortune on earth doesnt matter in heaven. But what matters is the good fortune you GIVE while on earth. Jesus died on the cross for us, so the least we could do is give some money or even give a little time. Give to and Jesus will give back.
Jesus loves us no matter what just like lazarus.
What I got from this scripture was that we shouldn’t take the east way out. Life is about suffering and bearing our crosses so we can make it to Heaven.
We will not keep the wealth or our possessions into heaven. The only keep the thoughts, actions, and words we thought, did, or said during our lifetime, so it doesn’t matter what we have on Earth, but what we do to follow Jesus is what matters.
What I got from it was that forgivness is a real thing
This reading is saying to me that we need to look to others needs and not just ourselves. Lazarus was poor, didn’t have any food and only asked for the scraps of a richman’s feast, what I could do is help the helpless and love/accept them like Abraham did.
Matirial items mean nothing in the kingdom of heaven. It does not matter how much or little you had, you have the same chance of gettign into heaven as anyone else.
This scripture is telling me that it does not matter if you are rich or poor in life, it matters if you are kind or not, that is the decesion that sends you to Heaven or Hell.
I can apply this to my daily life by remebering the ones who don’t have very many things, like the homeless and the poor. A lot of time we don’t want to help them because we think to ourselves, there the ones that go them there or in that position. But it does not matter they need help. We must help all poor, wealty, homless, and sick. Everyone needs help in some way and God is there to listen.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is telling us that we need to suffer to get to heaven. A lot of us expect everything in life to be easy, but that’s not the case. Suffering and hardships make us stronger. Lazarus was a poor man that suffered all throughout his life, but the rich man had no struggles. yet the rich man could go to hell and Lazarus could go to Heaven. We need to carry our cross and ask God for perseverance and strength to do so.
What I learned from this scripture passage was that since you only live once you only have on shot to get close with God.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that if we suffer on earth we won’t suffer in Heaven. But if we don’t suffer on earth we will suffer in Hell.
We need to live everyday like it’s our last here on earth . We never truly know when we will die. And all the things in this life like phones, shoes and other material goods won’t be there when we die. So, we need to love and show kindness to everyone.
We need to stay humble. We don’t need money to make Jesus love us. All we need is to be staying humble and not being selfish. Wether you rich or poor it doesn’t define us as a person, It’s your relationship with God.
What I can take away from this scripture is that I can always help out the poor no matter who they are or what they look likeAnd there is always someone out there that needs that kind of treatment.Although being in the rich man’s situation would be straight up embarassing if I did that to someone.
Jesus will always be there for us. To forgive, or to have someone to talk to. He wants to have a relationship with us. God calls us to spread the good news of the gospel. Without God the world weould be nothing.
I think the scripture today is telling us that we need to be aware that God is all around us and we need to be better as catholics and in out faith.
We live only live once, we only have one life, we have to make the best of it, and be the best that we can be. We need to care for those who have less than us. Lazarus was poor and he went to heaven, the rich man went to hell because even though he was rich, he didn’t listen to Jesus, Moses, and the Prophets’s teachings, he didn’t give to the poor, or help Lazarus. We need to help those in need when we have a lot. We can’t just automatically expect to go to heaven, we have to work for it, and give to the poor and help the less fortunate.
Today’s gospel we learn that material wealth and money don’t matter when you die. We can’t take money after death. I can apply this to my life by not bein so materialistic, and focusing on being kind to everyone.
This to me is a story that show confidence being built because the man had to go up to father abraham and ask please father abraham have pity on me and i hope this tells me something later because maybe i do not understand it now but i will later. He had to really hope that father would help him and he really tried and i hope i will too.
In the scripture passage there is a rich man who could have everything he could ever want. And there was a poor man who would have been greatful for the scraps from the rich man’s table and for the dogs to lick his wounds. When the poor mad dies he went to Heaven, but the rich man went to hell. When the rich man in hell saw the poor man Lazarus next to Abraham in Heaven. The rich man cried out “Father Abraham, have pity on me.Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.” The rich man wanted Lazarus to put water on the rich man’s tongue but Abraham replied with “My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad;but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented. Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is establishedto prevent anyone from crossingwho might wish to go from our side to yoursor from your side to ours.” He was saying that the rich man wasted his life in comfort and Lazarus lived his in suffering to gain comfort in Heaven.
The only thing you can take with you to heaven is memories. You cant take any of your stuff, so why should you worry about trying to get all the new fancy clothes and things. God is calling us to help others and to suffer for others, donate your time, your money, and your talent.
We only have one chance in life to make it to eternal life with Jesus and our Father, God. If you mess it up you won’t get a ceond chance once you die. You have to make the most of it but also be holy.
No matter what side you are on Jesus will always love us and forgive us for our actions.
I can apply this to my life by listening to what God wants we to do and what he wants me to become instead of ignoring him for no reason.
This gospel talks about how we should always look out for people in need
No matter who you are and how you live God will continue to love you like He did with Lazarus.
God is teaching us that suffering brings joy andnot to be selfish. God is also telling us fortune on earth does not matter because in heaven we will not take that fortune with us. We do not need to connect to earthly things just God. God is all we need he is more than we need.
Jesus doesn’t care if your rich or poor. If you are rich and don’t love you won’t be happy. But if you are poor and love you will be happy. When we die we can’t bring earthly things into Heaven so money and stuff shouldn’t matter to us. All that matters is getting to Heaven. Jesus will love you even if your poor.
In todays’s gospel reminds us that we have no need to be materialistic. When we reach Heaven, thosethings don’t come with us. This teaches us that we only live once, and have no second chances. We have to keep in mind that we can’t go back but learn from God and our own mistakes.
In this gospel I learned that money doesn’t bring happiness. I need to learn that even if i’m poor I still haven to be faithful to God, and if I don’t ill be sent to the underworld. I need to believe that even though I’m not happy then, I will still make it into heaven if I’m stillfaithful to God.
This scripture is telling me no matter who you are rich, poor, president, etc. it doesn’t tell you if you go to heaven or not. It all really mater what you did and how your life went.
This teaches us that if we are rich and have money, instead of hogging it all you can give it to the poor and give some to organizations and many other things.
I can apply this scripture to my life by not holding on to physical things as much as spiritual things. The award on Earth is only a short time, but the award in Heaven lasts forever.
i feel this shows how inportant it is to add God the our daly life and that all we truly need is Jesus
I can apply this Scripture passage to my life by being more grateful for what I have and not for what I do not have, like Lazarus was. Lazarus was wrongly treated by the rich man and for the very little food he had he ate it and did not complain because he knew his true reward would be eternal happiness and life with God and the angels. We only have one life to live so may we do everything we can with this one life and use it to get us closer to God and spend eternal life with him and all the saints.
In this scripture the rich man had a perfect life but when he died he was tormeted but lazaurus had a bad life and when he died was taken up to where he would life perfectly for eternity. This is lie us in life, we have everything we could ever need but we are so ungratefull, but those who have almost nothing would love to have maybe 1 meal a day. And they are so gratefull when they get maybe a tiny piece of food. If we have everything on earth but are ungratefull then how will we be able to be gratefull for everything God wants to give us in Heaven.
We live our entire lives striving to be happy. We think that having a lot of stuff and luxuries will make us happy, but it won’t. You will only grow to be alone. That’s what Hell is-alone. God created us to live our Earthly lives and join Him in Heaven after we die. Do not listen to the others that put you down or mock you, rather, offer your suffering up to God. He loves you more than anything else that you could possibly think of!
This reading tells us many things about how we are supposed to live on earth. We should do everything with the end in mind. In the story, the rich man only cared about what was happening now and he didn’t care about what would happen after he died. So when he died, all of the years that he had of pleasure and comfort came back to haunt him because he didn’t know how to love anything other than himself. Lazarus knew that he needed the help of God to do anything so when he died he was rewarded for all of his years trusting in God. We need to be like Lazarus, knowing our order in the line of importance.
What stood out to me in today’s gospel is that we will have to suffer on earth, but we will have such a great reward in Heaven that it does not matter. In the scripture, Lazarus lived a very hard life, eating from the scraps of the rich man. He was able to be with Christ in Heaven. The rich man lived a very easy life here on earth, but he went to the netherworld. Why is this? The rich man lived a very comfortable life on earth, but now he is suffering. Lazarus had many struggles but he went to Heaven. This is like us. We have our own free will and we can choose how we live on earth, but it is not worth sacrificing ourselves for earthly things. The only thing that truly matters is being with Christ in Heaven.
In this Gospel, Jesus shows us that no matter how poor or wealthy we are, we can still make it towards heaven. As long as we are respectful, and kind to everyone around us, we can make it.
This scripture reminds me of when Jesus said “love your neighbor as yourself.” Because the rich man didn’t treat Lazarus right when they were both alive, he made himself suffer forever now.
In today’s gosepel, I hear the voice of God telling us to repent and detatch ourselves from worldly things. This passage also reminds me of a passage from Matthew 6, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” Jesus tells us again in that passage that we must love and be kind to one another. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your soul.’
Today in the gospel, Jesus tells us the parable about a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus. The part that stuck out to me was that even though Lazarus wasn’t treated right he always had faith in God, so when he died he went right up to heaven. The rich man because of his bad deeds went to hell. I think that lots of times we think of ourselves always in the highest rank, but we have to remember that all we need is God. Lazarus, even though he didn’t have a great life on earth trusted in God and went to heaven, but the rich man didn’t. can apply this to my life by never judging people by the way they look or act, but by the inside of them.
We need to treat every action like it decides if we go to heaven or hell. We should do this because once we die we can’t change anything we did on earth.
It doesn’t matter if we are wealthy or poor. because when it comes to end game, all that will matter is how humble or disobeydiant we were on earth. because Jesus is our gate key into heaven, and to unlock that we must be humble and kind to others.
I think the gospel is telling us that we should be like Lazarus. Our life is short and we should spend it worshipping God. We might accomplish a lot of things, but if we don’t even have faith, it’ll all be for nothing.
I can apply this to my life talking to jesus with people who are not catholic
i can apply this to my life and helping the poor
What I took from the reading today is that we need to pay attention more about God and not our selves. And we need to help others in life. If we dont look out for each other then we wont be able to help eachother .
The Gospel shows us that the poor will become the rich and the rich will become the poor. When you believe in God and let in anyone even the poor you will be gifted with the grace of God.
The gospel is telling me that we need to the right thing the first time because we might not always get a second chance. We get a second chance in Heaven, but do we know if we are going to go to Heaven? We might not be able to do everything that we want to in our life, but thats why there is Heaven. Who knows if we are even going to go to Heaven. My point is that even though that you think that you will have a long life, you never know because today could be your last day. So we need to value the things that we have and spend time with out family and friends.
This passage was a great lesson of how we should give back. We live a normal life each day, laughing with our friends, eating what you wish, having a loving family, etc. But some peopke out there don’t have any of those things. We are so lucky to even have a life too! Giving back to the poor will have such a happy impact on you, that you’ll want to give more. Living our lives trying to follow the footsteps of Christ is what we strive for. We need to be thankful.
I can apply this to my life because I can remeber I am put on this earth for a reason, I have a purpose. I also feel like we should be more humble and help the less fortunate ones out.
This teaches me that I need to pay attention more to spiritual things rather than physical things. It also doesn’t matter if we are rich or poor, because we can still make it to heaven.
What I got from today’s scripture is to be grateful for everything that you recieve. Some people in this world are on the streets begging for food. Jesus made you on this earth for a reason He made you with certain talents. Use them.
I can put this into my life when I see that it says God doesn’t give you a second chance. What you do now is how God will see you.
I think this tells us that we should help the poor and be giving. Also that our sins will be paid for in Hell, and to believe in God that we have everything we need to get to Heaven.
I think that God is telling us that we need to be nice in this life because we can’t change once we are dead. God came to sinners and people with sores. God has given us warnings already but the question is if you were to die today would you go to Heaven.
You can’t change once you’ve died. You never know when you will die. No one but God knows. We should live each day like it will be our last. It is so easy to sit around and wait, but one day your going to wake up and realize all you have missed. How much time you will never get back. Why hold grudges? You think you are making the other person feel bad, but really you are putting yourself in a bad mood to. You are ruining your day. You are wasting your time. You’ve messed up plenty of times, I bet you could think of a recent scenerio where you have been forgiven. We need to learn not to judge. God made that person who they are for a reason.
Through this Gospel passage I feel like God is trying to tell me that we only die and live once. We need to spend our lifetime praising God and also doing what’s right, because we never know when God wants us to go to Heaven with Him. We need to stand up for what we believe.
Today Jesus is telling us what we have been told time and time again. That the humble shall be exhalted and the exhalted shall be humbled. The rich man lived his life like a king, not relizing that the true king is God. Lazarus lived like a slave, eating scraps and being coverd in sores, but unlike the rich man, he realized that God what his only king. So that is what we should take away from this gospel. Our lives, no matter what we look like or our status in society, what our skin color is, what gender we are, if we realize that God is our only king, then we will already be halfway there. Lazarus could have been anyone, you, me , our mom’s and dad’s, he is an example of someone we need to strive to be like. We need to want to be humbled by the world so we can then be exhalted in heaven
To me this means that to go to heaven and be with God you do not need money to win. You need to follow the commandments go to church and be with God.
I learned that you dont have any worth as a material person but if you are a very spiritual person you have alot of worth to Jesus
What I am getting from this is that we should make better decisions and if you’re rich, don’t be selfish and don’t make bad decisions. Just because you’re rich doesn’t mean you rule everyone. If you make bad decisions like the rich man did, you would go to hell. But with Lazurus, on the other hand, he didn’t really do anything to deserve those sores and he was a really nice guy. He made right decisions and he was sent up to Heaven in paradise.
this scrripture is saying that we should help those in need and do whats best
This Scripture is saying that we should help those in need and do whats best*
God is trying to tell about how important it is to be kind to people because you never know what they are going through. God doesn’t judge on our brokeness, he loves us no matter how rich or poor. And also thats it’s important to spread scripture and tell people about God.
I think that we all suffer and it is something that we need but also we need to help eachother through the suffering and help them get to heavn we should not just not care about others we should give food and cloths to the homeless it is what God wants
Today God is telling us to help people who need it. You don’t know why they got into the situation they are in, so you should help them because they need it and a lot of times it isn’t their fault that they ended up in their situation. Also it tells you that if you need help then you will be feel better in Heaven even if no one helped you on Earth.
The Gospel today is telling me that we should always spread the word of God to other people and if we do it could help other people and maybe they will start to believe in God. We should always believe in God and be grateful for everything he does for us. God loves us and we should love him too.
In this Gospel I think that Jesus is telling me that we need to see past the outer shell, nad really be humble nad not judge at first sight, If the rich man had helped Lazerus, maybe he would’ve made it into purgatory, maybe if he had invited Lazerus into his home he would have repented to God, by ignoring somone we are shutting out a wondefull oppertunity to meet a person who will impact your life, and this is usually in a good way, but even if they are not good, you have been an example to them and you gave them a chanse to be kind and repent.
This scripture is saying that if were hurt, having issues , if anyhting is goin on, that God is always watching over us and he will heal us if we ask him to. Jesus died on the cross knowing that each and every one of us will be able to live and have a life. People have there own problems but can hide it from everyone and act like there perfectly fine. God is always watching over us and he won’t put us through anyhting he thinks we can’t handle. We are all strong and God is always watching us to heal us from any pain we suffer from or have to go through in our daily lives.
What I am getting from this gospel is that if you’re rich, it doesn’t mean that you rule everyone. It doesn’t mean that you can just do whatever you want. The rich man made bad decisions and didn’t do a lot of things right. But Lazurus, on the other hand, was covered up with so many sores. He didn’t really do anything wrong. He made good decisions and was a really nice guy. Therefore, Lazurus went to Heaven and the rich man went to hell.
Today in the Gospel with the rich man and Lazorith God is telling us that earth is like a pit stop. Earth is just a place we sit and choose if we want God for ever or no. If we want heaven or hell.
Today the gospel teaches us to spread the word of God.
Todays ospel is telling me that no matter what state someones in. If there poor, rich, homeless, ect. Everyone can go to Heaven. At the same time though everyone can go to hell. Thats why on earth we should do everything we can to get closer to God himself and make a firm relationship with him. Also just like lazarus there are people in life that are exactly like that. Thats when us catholics have to step in to save peoples lives and change them for the better. We must not be like the rich man becasue he is selfish and rude and doesnt have any respect for life exept his own, and thats not a a person we should be. Finally this story teaches us the lesson that EVERY LIFE MATTERS.
This Scripture is saying that we should help the people in need and do whats best.*
In today’s reading I think that Jesus is telling us that we are all equal in God’s eyes. God doesn’t care if we are rich or poor, He juges us based on the things we’ve done in our life. We should let go of our earthly desires because in the end, they don’t matter. And if we do have a lot of things, we should give to others who may not have as much as we do.
I think Jesus is trying to tell me that love doesn’t come in anything except inside of us, and in our actions and thoughts. What it means is that love can’t come in how much money you have, or how much clothes or popularity you have. It only spreads through God’s actions or ours. Our, Kindness and care is our love showing through the Holy Spirit.
Lazarus suffered. He had a horrible earthly life. He had sores and was treated with disdain. And yet, he was humble. He believed. So, because of him being humble, and suffering, he went to heaven. He no longer suffered. The rich man, however had it all. He was rich and had everything he could have ever wanted. The rich man had this amazing earthly life. But because he didn’t live a humble life and didn’t suffer and give it up to God, he suffered in hell. The rich man went to hell because he did not suffer and give it up to God, and he wasn’t humble. If we are humble and suffer, but give our suffering up to God, we can go to heaven. So believe and trust God, and give it all up for him.
The Scripture is telling me today that we only have one life. We only get one chance to get this right. If we do: ETERNAL HAPPINESS!!! If we don’t: Eternal suffering. Now tell me, who wants the eternal suffering? LITERALLY NO ONE. But you wouldn’t know that if you looked at most of everyone’s actions. People sin all the time. But sometimes they ask for forgivness. They go to confession. And that is what will give them the “ETERNALL HAPPINESS!!!” I mentioned earlier. Asking for forgivness. As Jesus said, “Repent and believe!” We can only live once; there is no reincarnation. We will not turn into cows after we die. We get eternal good, or eternal bad. So we, I, need to try harder. This is all we’re going to get. So let’s make sure it’s worth it.
The poorest of poor and the richest of rich have the same opportunities. We are all the same in God’s eyes. It does not matter if you are popular or sporty or pretty or smart or outgoing or anything else like this that is earthly. All that matters is that we are all trying our best to get to Heaven. God doesn’t care if we have a million dollars, or a nice house. God just cares that we are existing, and He wants us to live for Him.
It doesn’t matter how wealthy you are it matters how you treat other people. You have to be kind to other people to get into Heaven like Lazarus.
Okay, so here’s what I’m thinking: We need to be more mindful of the poor. I mean, living in the U.S, I’m used to not seeing too many poor people. In fact, I don’t think I have. But out in asia and those places, there are a LOT of poor people. We need to help not only those people, but also the people in our country. In short, people just plain, straight up, need help. How much longer can we afford to not help them as much as we can?
What this Scripture says to me is that we should help the poor in any way that we can. For if we do not help out the poor, then we will be in there shoes, and they will be in our shoes.
