“I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” Jn 6:44-51

God is found in communion. God is joy and we are a result of Him overflowing with joy. We are a result of love. Adam and Eve broke this joy, so God set out to reconcile Himself with His creation. He does this through a sacrificial meal. The Old Testament sacrificial meal comes to us at Passover. God instructed Moses and the people to eat bitter herbs (to remind them of their bitter slavery) and unleavened bread (they were in a hurry to get away so they did not have time to let the bread rise), and a roasted lamb (daubed the blood on the doorposts so the angel of death would passover their homes). God later feeds them with manna in the desert. The new sacrificial meal or new Passover is Jesus Christ. Isaiah prophesies that “He will be like a sheep led to slaughter.” Today, teaches us He is the bread of life and we must eat His Flesh to have eternal life. Jesus has a host ready for you everyday. Go to Mass as often as possible and be in full communion with God. Who else can say this or receive this, it is the ultimate gift of love and joy bringing us back to our Creator. Thank you, Jesus!
