Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich-1774-1824
Anne was born in Germany to peasant parents and often had visions from Jesus, Mary, and other saints while in the field tending sheep. Her angel-guardian appeared to her many times when she was young. She was a religious of the Order of St. Augustine, at the Convent of Agnetenberg, Dulmen, Westphalia. She tended to the poor and gave anything she had. If the Blessed Sacrament was passing by even at a great distance she could feel It’s presence and run to the spot and kneel when the priest was coming by. She was blessed with the suffering of the crown of thorns and the writer of this book saw blood go through her bandages in daylight while explaining her visions to him.
THIS IS WHAT SHE SAW!!!!!!!
9PM-10:45PM Jesus Christ leaves the Upper Room where He has instituted the first priesthood and Holy Eucharist. He suffers the Agony in the Garden for 2 hours and 45 minutes. He suffers many visions that can be summarized in 3 parts: 1. the visions of our sins/all sin, 2. visions of what He is about to undergo to redeem our sins, and 3. temptations from the Devil. Anne sees the visions that Jesus is seeing. Any pope, bishop, priest or religious and crimes or betrayal they have committed. Murderers, lust, cheating, malice, and any and all sins against God’s Will. She also sees Jesus having visions of what He is about to undergo to redeem humanity. Last, she sees the Devil come in many forms to tempt Jesus. The Father of all lies quickly tries to deceive Jesus by telling Him He is the reason all of the Holy Innocents died, He is the reason His parents had to flee to Egypt and put them through a lot of trouble, and visions of what His Apostles would be going through for Him. Jesus agonizes to the point that Luke, the physician and Gospel writer, says that, “His sweat became like drops of blood.” Jesus’ body is like one big bruise, He is sweating blood which is possible, and His garments are soaked from the sweat.
After 10:45PM, Jesus is kissed by Judas (it was dark and everyone is dressed the same; the soldiers do not know who Jesus is) and says, “If you were an enemy I could bear it, but you a close companion.” Jesus is roughly chained and shackled around his hands and ankles. During the walk from the Garden of Gethsemane back to Annas’ house, Jesus is constantly being struck in the face, kicked, and spit on. The soldiers throw Him over a bridge and He dangles before He hits the water. They can’t pull Him up so they have to go around and pull Him out of the stream. When they get to Annas’ house, they question Him. They then send Him to Caiphas the High Priest for the year and He is questioned more. He is continually beaten, spit on, and mocked. This Jewish Trials are illegal and is taking place around 1 AM. Jesus has had nothing to drink or eat since the Last Supper. After Annas and Caiphas have questioned Jesus asking Him if He is the Messiah the Son of the Living God and Jesus saying yes, he has mud and dirt thrown in his hair, his beard plucked, and they drag him around the room by the cords and chains mocking him continuously as a king.
Mary’s heart is close to Jesus’ and she is in agony and suffering. She is extremely worried and just wants to be close to her Son. Throughout the Passion of Jesus Mary faints and is carried many times by Mary Magdalene, John, and other holy women. She is living the prophecy foretold by Simeon at the Presentation in the Temple. Her heart is being pierced and the time has come for her Son “to be the reason for the rise and fall of many in Israel”.
The Agony in the Garden-Jesus agonizes in 3 ways: 1. He sees every sin and punishment from the fall of Adam to the end of the world, 2. Satan tempts Him, 3. for 45 minutes He sees visions of the crucifixion He is about to endure.
OUR SINS
“His sorrow and anguish of soul continued to increase, and he was trembling all over when he entered the grotto to pray, like a wayworn traveler hurriedly seeking shelter from sudden storm, but the awful visions pursued him even there, and became more and more clear and distinct. Alas! This small cavern appeared to contain the awful picture of all the sins which had been or were to be committed from the fall of Adam to the end of the world, and of the punishment which they deserved. He fell on his face, overwhelmed with unspeakable sorrow, and all the sins of the world displayed themselves before him, under countless forms and in all their real deformity. He took them all upon himself, and in his prayer offered his own adorable Person to the justice of his Heavenly Father, in payment for so awful a debt. Pg. 100
SATAN’S TEMPTATIONS
“But Satan, who was enthroned amid all these horrors, and even filled with diabolical joy at the sight of them, let loose his fury against Jesus, and displayed before the eyes of his soul increasingly awful visions, at the same time addressing his adorable humanity in words such as these: ‘Takest thou even this sin upon thyself? Art thou willing to bear its penalty? Art thou prepared to satisfy for all these sins?’
“And now a long ray of light, like a luminous path in the air, descended from heaven; it was a procession of angels who came up to Jesus and strengthened and reinvigorated him. Satan brought forward innumerable temptations, as he had formerly done in the desert, even daring to adduce various accusations against him. He approached him with faults of the disciples, the scandals they had caused, and the disturbances which he had occasioned in the world by giving up ancient customs. He approached Jesus with having been the cause of the massacre of the Innocents (2 year old boys King Herod killed to try and kill Jesus, Feast 12/28), as well as the sufferings of his parents in Egypt, with not having saved John the Baptist from death, with having brought disunion into families, protected men of despicable character, and refused to cure various sick persons.” Pg. 100-101
VISIONS OF THE PASSION
“When Jesus, unrelieved of all the weight of his sufferings (after talking to the Apostles), returned to the grotto, he fell prostrate with his face on the ground and his arms extended, and prayed to his Eternal Father; but his soul had to sustain a second interior combat which lasted three quarters of an hour. Angels came and showed him, in a series of visions all the sufferings that he was to endure in order to expiate our sins; They showed him the satisfaction which he would have to offer to Divine Justice, and how it would consist of a degree of suffering in his soul and body which would comprehend all the sufferings due to the concupiscence (personal sin-venial and mortal) of all mankind since the debt of the whole human race had to be paid by that humanity which alone was sinless-the humanity of the Son of God.” Pg. 106
Part 2. The Scourging at the Pillar
“That most weak and undecided of all judges, Pilate, had several times repeated the dastardly words: ‘I find no crime in him: I will chastise him, therefore, and let him go;’ to which the Jews continued to respond, ‘Crucify him! Crucify him!’ but he determined to adhere to his resolution of not condemning our Lord to death, and ordered him to be scourged according to the manner of the Romans. The guards were therefore ordered to conduct him through the midst of the furious multitude to the forum, which they did with the utmost brutality, at the same time loading him with abuse, and striking him with their staffs. The pillar where criminals were scourged stood to the north of Pilate’s palace, near the guard-house, and the executioners soon arrived, carrying whips, rods, and ropes, which they tossed down at its base. They were six in number, dark, swarthy men, somewhat shorter than Jesus. They were malefactors from the frontiers of Egypt, who had been condemned for their crimes to hard labor, and were employed principally in making canals, and in erecting public buildings, the most criminal being selected to act as executioners in the Praetorium.
These cruel men had many times scourged poor criminals to death at this pillar. They resembled wild beasts or demons, and appeared to be half drunk (Hitler’s Generals and riflemen were often drunk in killing hundreds of Jews at a time). They struck our Lord with their fists, and dragged him by the cords with which he was pinioned, although he followed them without offering the least resistance, and, finally, they barbarously knocked him down against the pillar. This pillar, placed in the center of the court, stood alone, and did not serve to sustain any part of the building; it was not very high, for a tall man could touch the summit by stretching out his arm; there was a large iron ring at the top, and both rings and hooks a little lower down. It is quite impossible to describe the cruelty shown by these ruffians towards Jesus: they tore off the mantle with which he had been clothed in derision at the court of Herod, and almost threw him prostrate again.
Jesus trembled and shuddered as he stood before the pillar, and took off his garments as quickly as he could, but his hands were bloody and swollen. The only return he made when his brutal executioners struck and abused him was to pray for them in the most touching manner: he turned his face towards his Mother, who was standing overcome with grief; this look quite unnerved her: she fainted, and would have fallen, had not the the holy women who were there supported her. Jesus put his arms around the pillar, and when his hands were thus raised, the archers fastened them to the iron ring which was at the top of the pillar; they then dragged his arms to such a height that his feet, which were tightly bound to the base of the pillar, scarcely touched the ground. Thus was the Holy of holies violently stretched, without a particle of clothing, on a pillar used for the punishment of the greatest criminals; and then did two furious ruffians who were thirsting for his blood begin in the most barbarous manner to scourge his sacred body from head to foot. The whips or scourges which they first made use of appeared to me to be made of a species of flexible white wood, but perhaps they were composed of the sinews of the ox, or of strips of leather.
Our loving Lord, the Son of God, true God and true Man, writhed as a worm under the blows of these barbarians; his mild but deep groans might be heard from afar. These groans resembled rather a touching cry of prayer and supplication, than moans of anguish. The two ruffians continued to strike our Lord with unremitting violence for a quarter of an hour, and were then succeeded by two others. His body was entirely covered with black, blue, and red marks; the blood was trickling down on the ground, and yet the furious cries which issued from among the assembled Jews showed that their cruelty was far from being satiated.
The two executioners commenced scourging Jesus with the greatest possible fury; they made use of a different kind of rod,-a species of thorny stick, covered with knots and splinters. The blows from these sticks tore his flesh to pieces; his blood spouted out so as to stain their arms, and he groaned, prayed, and shuddered.
Two fresh executioners took the place of the last mentioned, who were beginning to flag; their scourges were composed of small chains, or straps covered with iron hooks, which penetrated to the bone, and tore off large pieces of flesh at every blow.
The cruelty of these barbarians was nevertheless not yet satiated; they untied Jesus, and again fastened him up with his back turned towards the pillar. As he was totally unable to support himself in an upright position, they passed cords round his waist, under his arms, and above his knees, and having bound his hands tightly into the rings which were placed at the upper part of the pillar, they recommenced scourging him with with even greater fury than before; and one among them struck him constantly on the face with a new rod. The body of our Lord was perfectly torn to shreds,-it was but one wound.
The dreadful scourging had been continued without intermission for three quarters of an hour. During the time of the scourging of our Lord, I saw weeping angels approach him many times; I likewise heard the prayers he constantly addressed to his Father for the pardon of our sins-prayers which never ceased during the whole time of the infliction of this cruel punishment.
I saw the Blessed Virgin in a continual ecstasy during the time of the scourging of her Divine Son; she saw and suffered with inexpressible love and grief all the torments he was enduring. It was not more than nine o’clock a.m. when the scourging terminated.
Part 3 The Crowning with Thorns
Read pg.234 The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ
“A gallery encircled the inner court of the guard-house where our Lord was crowned with thorns, and the doors were open. The cowardly ruffians, who were eagerly waiting to gratify their cruelty by torturing and insulting our Lord, were about fifty in number, and the greatest part slaves or servants of the jailers and soldiers. The mob gathered round the building but were soon displaced by a thousand Roman soldiers, who were drawn up in good order and stationed there.”
“In the middle of the court there stood the fragment of a pillar, and on it was placed a very low stool which these cruel men maliciously covered with sharp flints and bits of broken potsherds. Then they tore off the garments of Jesus, thereby reopening all his wounds; threw over his shoulders an old scarlet mantle which barely reached his knees; dragged him to the seat prepared, and pushed him roughly down upon it, having first placed the crown of thorns upon his head. The crown of thorns was made of three branches plaited together, the greatest part of thorns being purposely turned inwards so as to pierce our Lord’s head. Having first placed these twisted branches on his forehead, they tied them tightly together at the back of his head, and no sooner was this accomplished to their satisfaction than they put a large reed into his hand, doing all with derisive gravity as if they were really crowning him king. They then seized the reed, and struck his head so violently that his eyes were filled with blood; they knelt before him, derided him, spat in his face, and buffeted him, saying at the same time,’Hail,King of the Jews!’”
“It is impossible to describe the cruel outrages which were thought of and perpetrated by these monsters under human form. The sufferings of Jesus from thirst, caused by the fever which his wounds and sufferings had brought on, were intense. He trembled all over, his flesh was torn piecemeal, his tongue contracted, and the only refreshment he received was the blood which trickled from his head on to his parched lips. This shameful scene was protracted a full half-hour, and the Roman soldiers continued during the whole time to applaud and encourage the perpetration of still greater outrages.” pp 234-236
Today’s challenge: Walk through the Passion with Christ, take time to think about what He went through and how great his love is for us. Suffer with Christ as He suffered for you. Compassion means “to suffer with”. Suffer with Christ this Holy Week and Triduum so you may share in His joy at the resurrection on Sunday. Spend time with Mary as she stands suffering for her Son, knowing God’s plan, and sharing with you and I in our redemption.
Be a servant, Become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
To me this day is insane for a person like me to think about because we would never experiance this at the time of world we are now but for me this is so emotional because him going through all that pain makes me hurt but angry because we now understand that Jesus is truly the son of God but we didn’t understand that back then.
i can reflect to this scripture by taking Holy Week a lot more seriously and not take Jesus’ suffering for mankind for granted.
When I think of the Passion i first think of Sadness because of Jesus’s death, but then I think of Happiness because now we can go to heaven with Jesus forever. On Passion Friday we need to be sad but remember that in three days he will be risen.
Good Friday is when we remember Jesus’ crucifixion and death. Catholics don’t celebrate Mass on that day but we do still pray. Some people may even do stewardship work that they will offer up to Jesus.
this tells me when things happened so I know when to pray and reflect. This also told me about how our sins were forgiven.
Good Friday is a day to realize how much we have and how much we should value life and know how much God has given us and how we can give back to him in certain ways, he gave his life up for ours and the least we can do is be thankful and pray to him. Jesus died on Good Friday and we have to love him for that
It is so incredibly sad that the Lord went through this, but what breaks my heart even more is the fact that our Lord went through this for us but we don’t for Him. As humans, we make mistakes. The Lord endured this pain and put no violence on others. We have a hard time even apologizing to people. We need to remember that if we are all deserving of God’s love, then were are definitely all deserving of each other’s love.
Jesus endured so much pain for us. I was thinking recently that we are the ones that put Jesus to death. It’s easy to think that the people that asked for Barabas put Jesus to death. It is hard to accept that it is us that killed an innocent man, but we need to because it will help us ask for forgiveness and be truly sorry.
I can apply this to my life by putting other’s needs before me and being like Christ. Acting kind and nice to everyone and putting them before me anytime.
I have followed God more then i have ever thought in this time
A reflection of Good Friday is the remembrance of Christ’s death and suffering. All people make sure to not verbally but physically show there thanks of God by kissing the cross or doing any unique way of showing there love and thanks for God in silence.
I can apply this to my daily life by suffering with God, as he has suffered for me. I can do this by giving up the things I love, as I have done this lent season. To continue that even when lent is not present.
The passion of Christ is one great journey. This time of year is amazing and one of my favorites for sure. The story line that Jesus goes though throughut his life is both troublesome and exotic. I love watching the passion and I can’t wait for it!
This is just crazy to me. I can’t believe that people would do this to humans that have done nothing. But Jesus did this for us and something tells me that he would do it again if he could. Jesus fought hard to stay alive throughout the stations, so we could have the Station of The Cross. We should be thanking God every day, for everything he has done and everything he went through for us. We need to have faith and fight to keep the Catholic faith alive as Jesus did.
I’m not sure how I can apply these things to my life. I now it would be impossible for any of these to happen to myself. I suppose I can always pray that others are doing okay. Not specific people, but everyone. Because everyone deserves to feel happiness. I could never do what Judas did to Jesus. I could never stoop so low to the point that my actions harm another. What Judas did, could never be forgiven. But, Jesus did forgive him, and that is what I strive to be like.
Jesus had a lot of passion. He when’t through what non person should ever have to go through.
Jesus Went through all this pain for for us!! Jesus suffered to forgive our sins and yet he never once thought to stop. He took the pain and offered it, as we should. He took his suffering not once complaining. He is the perfect example for us in our daily live
In this scripture, is says that Anne Catherine Emmerich was a slave when she had visions of Jesus, Mary, and many other saints. One of the visions was the agony in the garden. Then she saw him be scourged at the pillar. I can apply this to my life by doing what is the right thing even if I don’t like it.
The Passion of Christ shows us that Jesus is willing to suffer and even put His life down to save us from sin and the devil. This is the greatest act of kindness. Even though we cannot suffer to that magnitude to help someone else, that doesn’t mean we can forget the little ways of helping. We can suffer by giving up our electronics to help around the house. This is a simple act of kindness, but this is the model Jesus set for us when He died upon the cross.

Jesus knew how he was going to die but he did not stop because he wanted to save us.
It reminds us of all Jesus went through to save us. It was an awful day but he would do it over and over again to save us because he loves us that much.
When reading this, there were little things I noticed that I didn’t know. Reading how He suffered and what he saw in His visions hurt. It’s so violent and I am confused how the Roman soldiers enjoyed torturing Jesus. The soldiers also didn’t feel any guilt while hurting Jesus. It really is disturbing how violent they are to Jesus. I really thank you Jesus for saving all of humanity.
Anne is the perfect example of what we should act like. Anne reflected Jesus so the world would know how to act. Jesus died to save, us, humanity, the universe and yet people still mock him and laugh at him. The least we can do is not sin for the sake of God.
We need to spend more time with God. He should be the center of our lives but sometimes we put other things in front of him. If we want to grow closer to God than we need to dig him out of the crazy, loud pile of stuff in our heads and talk to him. He is the one we need to follow.
Jesus would do everything and he did. We need to be thankful everyday for what he did to save us. He doesn’t need us bet he still went threw all of that for us. I’m going to apply this to my life by saying a couple prays when I wake up to thank him.
We must suffer with God and trust in HIm. We must trust He has a plan for us and we need to do everything we can to reach eternal life with Him.
Today’s reading talks about the Passion of Jesus. It shows all that he went through on the way to die for our sins. He was willing to sacrifice everything for us. The least we could do is thank him every once in a while. He gave us much more than we deserve and we should be more thankful for him.
Jesus laid down his life for us. He didn’t want to go through all that pain and suffering, but he did His Father’s will not his. We need to have the same mentality. We should do what God wants us to not what we feel like doing.
Until I read the post, I hadn’t really pictured the atrocities that the Roman soldiers committed against Jesus and how much He truly suffered. Even when leaving the Mount of Olives, Jesus was greatly abused which I hadn’t known before. And I hadn’t pictured how horrendous the scourging and the crowning with thorns were. I teared up as I was reading through the post because I realized Jesus suffered all of that for me. I’m going to try to please God as much as possible from now on.
There are many things that happened that night. The thing that really stuck out to me is that the devil was tempting Him throughout the whole time and He never got distracted. God literally sent his son down to die for us and He died for all our sins.
Jesus will always show us the right way to heaven and he will do anything for us and he will always protect us and he will never make us suffer. God has a plan for us.
This scripture is the Passion of Jesus. He went through all of that suffering for my salvation. We must love one another so much as to lay down our lives for our loved ones. That’s what Jesus did, and He saved us from sin.
I can apply this to my life Listening to Gods word, and thanking him for dying for us
I can apply this to my life Listening to Gods word, and thanking him for dying for us.
This is about the Passion of Jesus or Good Friday. It is one of the most important days in the Catholic church. Jesus did so much for us, and carried the heaviest cross ever, the weight of our sins. The least I can do is offer up my struggles, and let him help me.
This is the passion of the Lord. The day he carried his cross, and died for us. He saved us from our sins, he gave us salvation. Us, the people who nailed to the cross. And he still saved us. Barabbas was set free, not because of the people, but because of Jesus. He went with the guards willingly, healed the high servant’s ear, despite the fact that they came to crucify him. He did not hold a grudge against Judas, despite the fact that he was the one to betray Jesus. He always forgives us, no matter what we do.
What I got from reading this passage is that we don’t really understand how much Jesus had to go through on that day. It is really amazing how he died for us. Over this Easter weekend we should try and focus on how much Jesus suffered on Thursday and Friday. And on Sunday we should rejoice, for Jesus has risen into Heaven saving us all from sin.
Jesus went through all of this just to save us. Jesus Christ should be everyone’s role model in life because He humbled himself so much and cared about us so much that he died on the cross for us. Everyone should look up to that, even though we cannot do that, we can pray like Jesus did and love like Jesus did.
Re-reading the conclusion of Salvation History has really made me think about all that Jesus went through for us. He was tempted by the devil, and had to bear the weight of the world’s sins on his shoulders. I have realized that there is a lot more suffering and things I can do to be more like Christ. The world right now has to stay as strong as Christ did during His finals hours before His death.
Jesus has been through a lot for us. He could have gone away at any time or escaped the crucifixion and scourging. He chose to do it for us though. Jesus chose to save us from our sins and open the gates of heaven for us. He was willing to die so that we can live. We need to appreciate Him more.
Reading this today, I thought wow. I always knew that Jesus suffered more than I could ever imagine but I have never read about it in that much detail. Since I know that he goes through that for my sin and the sins of every other human, it really makes me see sin in a different way. After hearing all of that and how horrible it was for Jesus that night, it really makes me look at sin as the awful disgusting thing it is. That makes me want do do whatever I can do avoid it.
Jesus suffered from the beginning to the very end. The pain he went through is unimaginable. God sent his only son to suffer and die for us. There is no greater love that the love He has for us. We are responsible for all of His suffering.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that you don’t have to be popular or have nice things to be a follower of Jesus just like Anne Catherine Emmerich did.
I think this Scripture passage is trying to tell us that Jesus did all of this to save us. We need to reflect over these next few days to truly make God the center of our life. This is when Jesus sacrifices His life for the world, and sometimes we forget about that. So I think that these next few days will give me a chance to reflect on what He has done for the world.
We will never know how truly he was hurt because we can’t feel his pain. We only know what is told of it because we weren’t there to experience it either. We know that he truly loved us because he suffered and died on the cross for us. We should all try to strive to be like Christ.
It’s crazy how Jesus suffered LIKE THAT JUST FOR US!? WHY? It’s because he loves us! And he would do anything just to love and please us!
Jesus went through a lot just for us and we basically just throw it away and forget about it. We need to start thinking about how much he suffered for us to get to Heaven.
Jesus died for us so humanity can go to even and learn that God is real. Today Jesus is on the cross every day for us and takes are pain with him.
This Good Friday we may not be able to go to mass, recieve confession, or communion, but it doesn’t take a chapel to talk to God. All it takes is words. I will do my part this Friday by praying and being thankful.
We cannot suffer what Jesus suffered. He did not only have the physical and emotional pain of being tortured and crucified, but he also had to carry the sins of the entire world. Jesus would go through anything for us, so why would we not do the same for Him. We need to stop being elfish and realize that He is our Savior. He will always love us. No matter what we do he will always love us.
We can never even imagine what pain christ was feeling but w ecan know what kinds physical, menal, & emotional. His pain was mental because the devil was tempting him and emotional when everyone in the moked him and physical when he was scouraged, in the garden, and when he was on the cross. We can never repay him and he went the extra world for us. All that had to happen was for a drop fo blood to be spilt on the ground and he diying. It could have been a quick death. But he set the example of where we ourselves were suppost to be, but he spared us from that suffering and opened the gates of heven for all who are willing to enter and have eternal peace with him forever.
Jesus knew he was going to die on the cross but he did not stop because he wanted to save us from our sins.
Jesus went through so much for us. The least we can do is try our best to be like him and help others as much as possible. We should give thinks to him for all that he has done for us and pray whenever we find the time. Heck, we need to make time! Sacrificing a small part of our day to pray is nothing compared what Jesus did for us. Plus, we should be doing that anyway!
Today, reading the scripture is hard. I know I can’t even come close to knowing the stress and pain he is enduring. I begin to wonder WHY? He had the choose to go through with it or not and he chose to go through with all the pain, temptations and stress for US! The pain he went through is unmeasurable, but I know enough that it certainly wasn’t easy. I think of a time that I had to make a big decision. Not a certain time but all of those times that I had to make a decision. I think about how most of my decision are hard because they mean something good will happen to me or I’ll get something even better out of it. In this case Jesus must choose from two options. 1.) Die and endure pain for all of mankind or 2.) Dent my father and my faith and get away with a few scratches and disappointment from my father. Both are HORRIBLE outcomes. I know he made his decision based on us. That to me is brilliant. He chose based on trillions of people that would walk on the same Earth that he did that he didn’t even know at the time. All I can say after today’s Gospel is “Thank You Jesus!”
We. Just. Can’t. Pay. Him. Back. No. Matter. What.
After reading the scripture about the decisions Jesus had to make, I am very thankful for him. Not only for him but also the pain he endured. What he did is truly amazing and wonderful. All I can say is “WOW!” I know I can never come close to knowing the pain he endured but I do know what he did is remarkable and I have him to thank for my life.
I can apply this scripture to my life by trusting Jesus that he has a plan for me and will guide me to heaven. Even though we cannot see each other and can’t go to mass we can still do good deeds and pray just by taking a little bit of time out of our day and praying a decade of the rosary
Jesus suffered for us. He knew that He would have to sacrifice Himself for our sins. I can apply this to my life by willingly sacrificing things as a reminder that Jesus has sacrificed Himself for us. I can also forgive others when it is hard to forgive them. When we do this, we are suffering. The “suffer” part is much different than what Christ had to face, but realize that it is hard for us to share, to help, or to forgive. We should suffer with Him, this Good Friday.
Jesus went through all this pain for us. He had to suffer to forgive all of our sins.
God wants us to know that he gave his only son, to die on a cross, for the salvation of our souls. If Jesus hadn’t died on the cross, we couldn’t go to heaven, if He hadn’t resurrected, we couldn’t go to heaven. Without God we are nothing and so today we should take time to pray and to contemplate his passion and death.
Jesus went through a lot that night. But through all of it He never stopped praying and saved us from our sins by suffering on the cross for us.
This is just crazy that people would do such a thing to someone especially Jesus. Jesus had a lot of passion and sacrificed his life for us. He went through more than the suffering everyone in the world does in their lifetime.
This is saying that Jesus went through a lot of pain and suffering and He knew He would, but He still went through it all because He loves us and wants the best for us.
We can’t suffer like Jesus did, but we can recognize what he did for us by praying the sorrowful mysteries,
Mary took this very well. I know that if my son or daughter was being condemned to die, i would have to try and change that.
A reflection for Good Friday for me would be remembering what Christ went through. Personally for me it’s hard to wrap my head around what Christ went through for us. I would like to reflect on what he did and try to thank him as much as I can today through my actions and prayers.
Jesus died today to save us all.
Jesus died for us with his choice and because his love. By kissing the foot of the cross we remember his love and honor his.None our sufferings with be as great as Jesus’ suffering for us. We are the ones to blame for his death. We must always be truly sorry for our sins and say thank you for what he did for us.
In today’s gospel, under the clutches of Pontius Pilate, Jesus, the son of God, is condemned and crucified upon the giant tree. His arms and legs are stretched forward, with the crown of thorns jutting into his scalp, and our sins branching out among his cross, that because of his crimes against the Pharisees, has willingly accepted to bear for man and his dark actions in the long weeks, months and years that are to come ahead. Our Lord unchains us from sin’s embrace, weakening its dominion over our actions, and dies as the 3’oclock hour rises to gaze over us. Christ’s loving example to us reveals his relationship towards us as his growing disciples, who are in the practice of this Catholic faith. But through his passion, death, and resurrection, we have been individually linked to our beloved father, in the Holy Spirit, and son, Jesus Christ.
For me, Good Friday is all about reflection. I reflect on how I did with what I gave up for Lent and on Jesus’ Passion and Death. I realize that Jesus died for us and for our sins. He died for our salvation.
Roughly 2000 years ago on this day, Jesus was crucified for our sins. He went to the Garden of Gethsemane and was attacked by the devil. He then was tried illegally in the middle of the night. He then had to carry his to cross to Golgotha. He was crucified there and died at 3.
I can apply this to my life by putting Jesus first and valuing him more. And praying and giving more thanks for what he did for us.
Today’s scripture reflection is about Jesus’ and his suffering on Good Friday, and the way to cavalry, and how Jesus died for our sins and to save us, so that we could all get to Heaven.
I can take this holy week to think about what Jesus did for us and think about the love that he has for every person and how great that Love is.
In today’s gospel, Jesus tells Pilate, “You say I am a king. For this, I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate asks a question that really needs to be chewed on, and have yourself just keep asking it, What is truth?, What is truth?, What is truth?. What I have to say is that truth is that there is a Heaven, and there is a Hell, there is an eternal life, Jesus did come to Earth to free us from our sin, and that Jesus loves us and desires greatly to be with us. We just have to open our hearts to Him. That is what I am going to work on during this soon to be Easter Season is letting Jesus take control (take the wheel) and let Him come into my heart.

Today we here about the passion. Most Catholics know about the passion of Jesus Christ and why it’s so important. The passion eventually leads to Jesus dying, but as well as him rising from the dead. Jesus’ resurrection is one of the happiest days in the catholic church. Even in this great time of grief in the bible we still know that Jesus will rise from the dead and we will rejoice.
Jesus literally died for everyone and took up our sins. I makes me sad because he loves us and we repay him by being rude to others. We need to be holy and grateful for what we have and everything we have. In three days he will come back just like he promised.
Today Jesus is telling me to just be thankful for what he did for us. Jesus gave his life for us on the cross so we could go to heaven and live forever with him in paradise.
Today is a day to respect Jesus, he endured all of the sufferings and we need to trust in him more.
To me the Passion means, sadness, pain, and suffering. Jesus gave His life for us and we pretty much throw that away. It is really sad.
In today’s scripture I realized that Jesus is the most powerful human ever. It hurts me to realize that because of us Jesus went through all this pain. This is why I’m so incredibly grateful that I am part of such a great faith. I can use this in my life by sacrificing for others.
Good friday is us remembering and thanking God for what he did for us. We reflect on his Death and suffering and thank him.
I think one thing that I took away from this scripture is that we often act as Peter acted. In the garden, while Peter was with Jesus, the soldiers came to detain Jesus. There, Peter cut off one of the servant’s ears in defense of Jesus. Later, after Jesus wasn’t around, Peter denied being a follower of Jesus. I think we commonly act like Peter by worshipping God only when people can see us and when we need to. However, when we are by ourselves or are under fear of scrutiny, we tend to stop following God. I think a place we do this commonly is just not praying in public, such as the prayer before meals. Hopefully, I can become a better follower of Jesus by not fearing being scrutinized for my faith and being more open.
I can apply this to my life by suffering with Jesus through these next three days. I can do this by giving up things that I enjoy. I feel that by doing this, I will grow closer to Jesus during these last few days of Lent.
Holy week to me reminds me to be thankful for everything I have and if I don’t have something I need I can offer it up as a sacrifice.
Jesus suffered more greatly then any human can possibly fathom. He was beat immensely, spit, cursed, and kicked at. He had to wear a crown of thorns on his head. He had to carry a super heavy cross up a hill after all that and was nailed to that. We don’t deserve all of his love and we can pray to him everyday and just remember that he did all that to save us.
I believe Good Friday, is a time of rejoicing. In the great gift that God has given us. He died for our sins, and this is a time to be happy for that and to thank him for all he has given us. That I believe is what this is truly speaking to me.
i can apply this to my life by not complaining about things and remember how much Jesus has done for me and how much pain he went through to save me.
Jesus died so that we could go to heaven.
I can imply this to my life by not complaining because Jesus went through so much stuff so that we can do and get to heaven. He made sure that he wanted us to get to Heaven.
He went through so much pain to save us. He didn’t have to, but he chose to. He obeyed the will of God and saved us all.
He went through so much for us, but we can’t seem to stop sinning. Sometimes we don’t even try to stop.
The scripture is saying don’t be afraid of pain because Jesus did for a very long time.
This passage is making me realize what all God has done for me and how thankful I am for him. God went through so much pain and torture and he still loves us. I know for a fact if I took that much pain and then died for someone I would not be too happy with that person but God did it and loves us all with all his joy and love.
This tells me the passion and death of Jesus. He knew that day he was going to die, but he went through it for us. The least we could do is give back to him.
Jesus has done so many things for us, and we can never pay him back. He has suffered so much for us. We don’t understand how much He has done for us. We can never pay Him back. We need to get closer to God, to His heart, to heaven.
Jesus does many things for those who have done good and even those who have done bad things as well. We may never be able to fully pay him back for what he’s done but try by following his teachings and staying on the right path.
This shows me Jesus cared so much for us even when he was dying he stayed strong for us.
Reading this really brought a different perspective to what He went through. I feel like all my life I haven’t truly realized what He went through to save us from sin. It gives me a new way to look at Good Friday.
