Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

When the court officers had brought the Apostles in
and made them stand before the Sanhedrin,
the high priest questioned them,
“We gave you strict orders did we not,
to stop teaching in that name.
Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching
and want to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
But Peter and the Apostles said in reply,
“We must obey God rather than men.
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus,
though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree.
God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior
to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins.
We are witnesses of these things,
as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.”

When they heard this,
they became infuriated and wanted to put them to death. Acts 5:27-33

I love the Acts of the Apostles!!!!  Peter and the Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, are on a mission and won’t quit preaching Jesus resurrected until they die.  ”We must obey God rather than men.”  How many times I could have spoken up to dialogue or defend my faith and I ran the other way.  This little band of followers of Christ is multiplying quickly.  The Jews must do something because they are losing many of their own.  It is going to grow so quickly that the Roman government will have to soon join in and each Apostle will preach to their death.  Whether you believe in God or not, if you believe in Jesus or not and His claim to be God, we have to admit something happened during this time in history.  So many followers multiplying quickly, willing to die for Jesus.  It has not stopped for 2,000 years and the institution the Apostles began through Jesus Christ has lasted through every persecution, every war, every government, every evil, every poor leader and disputes within the Church, without an army but with the Holy Spirit, the Consoler, Advocate, Paraclete and love.  God’s love is the most powerful thing in the world and Jesus said no power will ever prevail against the Church doors.  At the Last Supper we just read a couple of weeks ago, Jesus said He must leave us because He must give us something better the Spirit of Truth that will reveal everything the Apostles needed to know.  They spoke the Truths Jesus revealed to us through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Catholic Church has fought to protect these Truths and still does today to all eternity.

Today’s challenge: Pray to the Holy Spirit every day. Ask the Spirit to guide you each day in the areas you need the most and especially when you read the Scriptures.  Ask the Spirit to help you.  Study the Truths Jesus revealed continually in the YouCat and Scripture.
