Prayer Prompt before reading JN 13:21-33, 36-38: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE ME IF I HAND HIM OVER TO YOU?” MT 26:14-25

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Judas betrayed Jesus for about $300 in today’s money. Judas and our sins put Jesus on the cross. What we must realize is that our sin is not what hurts Jesus but it distances us from Him. That hurts because He gave all to bring everyone together as a family. Sin hurts us and the people around us. It’s all about relationships. Jesus was betrayed by one of His closest followers. Oh, how much it hurts when we are betrayed by one of our closest loved ones and friends.

God wants our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. He is all in. He gives all. He is forever faithful. He is love-it’s all He can do. Love wills the good of the other. God ALWAYS wills our good. If anything bad happens to us, it is a result of sin. His love is a sacrificial love which brings forth a new life for us to live free of sin and death forever with him in heaven. A free sacramental gift of Himself that transforms us. What is something you have given all to? What were the results? Now, think about what would happen if you do this in your spiritual life with God who has the power to heal, save, raise, and love.

Today’s challenge: Ask for forgiveness to those you have betrayed. This Holy Week go all in with God and see what happens. Worry less about money, power, pleasure, honor, and more about your soul.

Be a servant, become a saint!

In today’s Gospel, Judas is contemplating when he should give Jesus to the chief priests. He found the right time at the Passover and Jesus already knows that this would happen. He then goes to tell every disciple that someone at that table would betray Him. He tells them whomever dips his hand into the dish with Jesus would betray Him. Then Judas dips his hand in.

In the Gospel today, it talks about how someone will betray Jesus. This to me is very sad, and makes me feel bad for Jesus. In our daily lives we can sometimes be like Judas with our sin. So we should all ask God for a better love for him everyday.

Today’s Gospel was about how Judas betrayed Jesus during the Last Supper. Judas is like us we would do anything to make a good buck or lie about our religion just to live. But we shouldn’t do that, we should speak the truth. And then we feel the guilt, Judas felt so guilty that he hanged himself. Just like us we would do anything just to take this feeling of guilt away from our hearts, but it will stay there forever in our minds making us feel bad for the rest of our lives thinking that we should have done something else instead of what we did

“God wants our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. He is all in. He gives all. He is forever faithful.” God if fully love and fully loves us. We need to choose to love him fully. God is always waiting for us to run to him. When we feel like we have no one God is there and waiting for us to turn to him. God gave us the choice to turn to him or leave him. We have the choice but he is always choosing us.

In today’s Gospel, Judas plans to betray Jesus and he’s offered 30 silver coins to do so. Later, Jesus is arrested and condemned. It wasn’t only Judas that caused Jesus to be distressed and walk the grueling way to His death, it was our sin that caused it. Jesus was sweating blood, His flesh being ripped at the scourging, and the rough, heavy cross crushed Jesus. Yet, Jesus kept going and died on the cross for us. Us. Imagine that. Imagine your family being held hostage and the only way you could save them is going through what Jesus did. I, personally, couldn’t think about carrying the heavy cross that is constantly splintering me. Yet Jesus kept going and did what needed to be done. Knowing that this is the effect of sin, how could we ever sin again? But, Jesus’s death redeemed us and we are given the Sacrament of Confession to redirect our lives to God when we sin. God is always there for us when we are in the worst of the worst. Let God work and change you during this Holy Week.

It is important during this season to accept Jesus into our lives, and remember the gift of Jesus dying on the cross just to save us from sin. Jesus has the last supper and revealed someone would betray him. This shows how Jesus loved Judas, even though he knew Judas would end up betraying him.

In today’s Gospel Jesus has the Last supper. He knew that Judas would betray him and he said “He who has dipped his hand into the dish with me is the one who will betray me.” Judas tried to make it seem like he wasn’t going to be the one to betray him but God sees right through him. Jesus sees everything so you must tell the truth to free yourself.

in today’s scripture reading, it really stuck out to me when it says that when Jesus was crucified, Judas and our sins were all played upon him. we are the reason for the crucifixion, we are the reason Jesus died, but he died for you to resurrect from the dead and save you from your sins. When we sin it does not hurt God, it hurts our distance with God and hurts our relationship with him. But this is why we ask for forgiveness and he helps us to be cleansed from our sins. When we are betrayed by our friends, we feel the same way when Jesus was hurt by Judas. This holy week, we should grow closer to God. God loves you and he wants your heart. If anything bad happens to us, it is a result of sin. His love is a sacrificial love which brings forth a new life for us to live free of sin and death forever with him in heaven Never forgot that Jesus is with you until the end of time, there day, and the week. Have a good rest of your day!!! God loves you so much and he never stops loving. God Bless!!!! Viva Cristo Rey!!!

in today’s gospel Jesus tells the disciples that one of them will betray him. all of the disciples are saying like surely it is not I Lord. It couldn’t be me Lord. I believe that this shows the true human nature of not knowing your true intentions. the way the disciples say it it is as if they don’t know themselves that it is not them when it it believed that you should know your intentions. Judas knows his intention of turning him in and yet because the other disciples are doing it he is also saying that it is not him knowing that Jesus probably knows that its him and that he is lying right to his face.

“what are you willing to give me if i hand him over to you?”

this verse stood out to me because Judas was saying that he would hand over Jesus if they paid him, because he was greedy and probably a little bit selfish, thinking that if he did this thing, that he should get a reward for doing it because he though it was a good deed at the time.

This Gospel passage from Matthew 26:14-25 focuses on the painful reality of betrayal and the power of human choice. The story of Judas trading his friendship with Jesus for thirty pieces of silver serves as a reminder to value our relationships and integrity over temporary rewards like popularity or money. Even as the disciples anxiously asked, “Surely it is not I, Lord?” Jesus showed that He knows our hearts completely, yet He still invited everyone.,including Judas, to sit and eat at His table. This scripture encourages us to be honest about our own mistakes and to strive for loyalty to what is right, even when we are tempted to take the easier path.

The part of this Gospel that stuck out to me was when the apostles and Jesus have the exchange saying, “Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
    Deeply distressed at this,
they began to say to him one after another,
“Surely it is not I, Lord?”
This meant to me that we do not want to ever betray Jesus with our sin, but want to know if we have so that we may make it right.

Judas says “Surely it is not I, Rabbi?”. He says this because he either doesn’t think that what he is doing is bad, or he doesn’t want the other apostles suspecting him. I suspect the former, only because satanhas ways of tempting us in ways that we don’t understand, which let us slide easily into sin, sometimes without us even realizing it. Judas may not have even been a bad guy. He was just misled. It is still mostly his fault though, for being so seceptible to temptaation.

Right now Judas is gonna betray Jesus and he knows. and he isn’t angry with him or tries to stop him. He lets him do what has to do, because he has to die. he has to die for our sins, our debt that we deserve. but he takes it instead, he takes on the brutal punishment and the cross. just for a bunch of sinners, sinners who will turn away from him and who disrespect him. He still loves those same sinners, those sinners are us and he loves all of us no matter what we do he never stop loving us.

This passage highlights the tragic contrast between Jesus’ selfless love in preparing the Passover and Judas’ cold calculation to betray him for thirty pieces of silver, the price of a slave. It serves as a somber reminder that betrayal can come from within, challenging us to examine our own hearts for the times we prioritize selfish gain over loyalty to Christ.

Judas turned in Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. That adds up to about 450 dollars in today’s money. Judas loved money. That is why he was the groups’ treasury, but he loved money so much that he gave Jesus to the people. At the last supper Jesus made known to the disciples that Judas would be the one to betray Him

People, love, family, and friends are worth more that money, phones, and other things that are from this world because we will not have them when we reach heaven.

We can’t be those people saying “surely it is not I Lord” because we are all sinners when we sin we are betraying Jesus but not in a way as bad as Judas. what this means to me is that we need to forgive others and not just hold a grudge against them he wants us to love other like we do he doesn’t want us to hate each other. Jesus was betrayed by Judas and instead of holding a grudge against him he forgave him he did the exact opposite of what other people would do. When you hold a grudge against someone it doesn’t fix anything if you forgive it takes stress off yourself and makes you happier.

I think the phrase ¨Jesus was betrayed by one of His closest followers. Oh, how much it hurts when we are betrayed by one of our closest loved ones and friends.¨ Is important because betrayel isnt just something that happens when people stab eachtoher in the back but also as simply as talking behind somebodies back or gossiping about them. Jesus had a member of his disciples betray him, which was basically his close family so think about that when your gossiping about people and think of how hurtful it is too know people are talking about you like that.

this really stuck out to me because a lot people don’t understand this part. When we sin we separate a little but from Jesus, but it doesn’t hurt him because sinning is human, it just separate’s us from him.
When we sin, it hurts other people even though we don’t see it, because of relationships. Betrayal can be serious as well as relationships, betrayal affects relationship and that why people can feel the sin even though we cant see or feel it. it hurts a lot especially when its someone close to us.

The reason i thought this is cause they werent the only ones whom sinned we are also responsible for putting Jesus on that cross.

Judas’s betrayal of Jesus is a complicated (well sort of) topic. I feel like Judas knew deep, DEEP down what he was doing was wrong, but he was too filled with selfishness and greed to the point that it clouded his judgement. Judas was too attached to worldly objects, the opposite of what we need to be like. But it’s hard not to want to buy something just because you like it, or say something just because you want to. We need to be like Jesus.
