Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said to his disciples,
“Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket
or under a bed,
and not to be placed on a lampstand?
For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible;
nothing is secret except to come to light.
Anyone who has ears to hear ought to hear.”
He also told them, “Take care what you hear.
The measure with which you measure will be measured out to you,
and still more will be given to you.
To the one who has, more will be given;
from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” MK 4:21-25
Jesus teaches us today that He sees everything. He is the Light. The Light casts away darkness. We will be judged by this Light. God made us in His image and likeness, takes away our Original Sin and replaces it with Sanctifying grace, and Jesus breathes the Holy Spirit into us so that we would have nothing to hide. What are you hiding? What do you not want others to know and see. Work on it, bring it to Jesus and ask Him to uproot it.
The Truths revealed by Christ for the salvation of the world are not to be hidden. We are made out of love, it is not made to be held on to. We are called to read these Truths, memorize them, and live them in our actions. There is nothing more important than the Good News, Christ has risen, our sins are forgiven through baptism, and we are free from the bondage of sin and death.
We get so distracted from the most important thing that has been passed down to us. Jesus has risen. He is fully alive in the Eucharist, the Word, and the Holy Spirit is in us! Pass it on! The more love and compassion we give the more we recognize God’s love and compassion on us. The more generous we are with others the more we recognize the generosity God has with us. The more we forgive the more we learn of God’s mercy on us. The more we search out our identity and gifts God gave us to share with others and glorify Him, the more we recognize our purpose and live with passion and mission.
Today’s challenge: Find Truth, share love, live with passion! God is depending on you!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Hear God, and listen, listen to him, and do what he says, do not refuse him. God will not hide anything from you if you seek it.
We can’t get distracted by things like our phones, tv, other electronics. God is the number one thing we have to focus on that will get us closer to heaven and closer to God.
I can reflect on this scripture by living my life by God’s Word.
I can apply this to my life asking God to help me tell others and uproot things I hide from others to show. Everything I keep a secret will eventually find the light and come out of darkness.
Light casts away darkness. We have to allow Jesus into out lives in order for our darkness to leave us. Without him, the darkness will just keep getting worse.
Jesus teaches us that only light can dispel darkness and only he can dispel the Devil
In today’s scripture God is calling us to us what he gave us for good not for bad.
If you can’t see in the book you’re reading in the dark (hopefully the bible), shine a light. It’ll light up. Light turns anything secret in the dark unsecret (that is now officially a word). Anything that you hide will turn unsecret. Judgement day Jesus (the TRUE light) will shine on all the sins and darkness that you have done and will make it unsecret. Boom, your in heaven now.
I can apply this to my daily life by repenting. I can repent by pray and being in God presents more. Also I can reveal myself to him in adoration.
I can apply this to my life by trusting that God will help me make good decisions and that he will guide me to what is right. God is the light of life and the devil is the darkness and I need to follow the light of life (God) and not follow the devil
Jesus can see everything and he can hear everything that happens.
I can apply this to my life by remembering that I am not alone. God is here with me through everything I do. God is the light of my life. I need to stay away from temptation and not fall in the hands of the devil. God is the only light that I need in my life.
I can relate this to my life because sometimes I need to stop and think about if I’m following God or not and if not what am I doing that is pushing me away from him because with everything I do I need to do it in God
We need to remember that Jesus is our light. He is the way to guide us to heaven. It is our choice to use his light put it on our lamp stand and see the way, or we can put it under our bed “for later” we need to choose between using his light to get to eternal paradise or to hide it neglect it or ignore it we must know that we need God’s light to get what we want happiness.
God is all good and powerful while the devil is dark and wicked. I can pray everyday to be more holy and be closer to God. I can also pray everyday for the holy spirit to guide me.
God is the light and the way and that we should follow him and his lightness because without him there is darkness. He’s our light and he can see everything we do.
I can apply this to my life by not getting distracted easily, and trusting God to make good decisions.
I can reflect on this by putting my electronics away and focusing on God and listening to what he says.
We should talk to god even when we don’t need to. We should shine a light on him in the darkness. We should always love and trust in him when we don’t trust anyone.
God can let you see anything, wether it be him, jesus, or just a person trying to reach out to you.
we shouldn’t hide Jesus in our lives. We should have him show us how to live
We need to remember that Christ is our light. We would not put a lamp under a bed, and the same with Jesus, we would not put Him in our back pocket and hide Him from the world. We must show the people of the world what the light of God can do; drive out the darkness and the sin of the world.
I can apply this to my life by letting the light shine and not casting it down in darkness
I can apply this to my life by doing what God made me to do. I need to come into the light and let Jesus in my boat and let him lead me with his light.
I can apply this to my daily life by repenting in my day. After my day is done I can kneel at the edge of my bed and pray and try to get as much as I can possibly get out of the stuff I did that day. I can ask God for forgiveness for the bad things I did and repent on the good things that I did. I think that doing this will open a new light in the world by God.
This passage is telling us that to get to Heaven God has to guide us. We can not do it on our own. We need to take the lamp from under the basket and use it we shouldn’t ignore God. He wants to help us reach Heaven so we can be with him again. Acknowledge his love and let him help you reach our goal.
I can apply this to my life by trusting God and knowing that He is the light. He is there to guide me with my troubles and He is a friend I can trust. God shines throughout the world seeking to find a true relationship with others, like how a light shines so people can see.
I can apply this to my life by following God’s light when it is shown to me. Like when God is trying to call me to my vocation we should always follow the light. We should never though follow the darkness (Satan). Like when he tempts us to do something bad turn away from the darkness and go to the light. A example of this is when Satan tempts you then turn away from it and go to the light by praying a decade of a rosary. Thank you for looking at this, and God Bless.
What I can take away from today’s gospel is that Jesus is telling us that the only person’s opinion that you need to worry about is the Just Judge. Our light is the Lord, he is the only one we need to listen to. Obviously we also need to listen to our parents, but the Lord is our main priority.
I can apply this to my life because Jesus sees everything. He knows what we try to hide, and he knows our secrets. He shines a light throught the world. That light reveals everything. That light also reveals our sins.
God is the light and we should follow him because if we don’t we will be in darkness. I can pray everyday to be closer to God and to be more holy.
When Jesus comes in the Second Coming he will shine a light upon all of the world revealing the darkness. It will be revealed and wiped clean.
We must follow God’s light, not our Tv screen’s light. We need to keep God’s light out in the open so all may have light.
God doesn’t want you to keep secrets from others, he wants you to tell the truth and grow in holiness together because, he is the light of the world and wants everything to be seen and heard.
We use light to see. God is trying to be the light for us to see him, so all we have to do is let him into our boat. We can do this by hearing the call for you.
Jesus is our light. He shines a path for us to follow. We need to follow Jesus to heaven. Jesus give us a decision to make, to either follow the light to heaven of neglect it.
I can apply today’s scripture to my life by trusting that God will be there for me to help me make good decisions.
Jesus is telling us the we don’t buy things to hide them. He loves us and doesn’t want us to hide from him. Like you wouldn’t buy a lamp and hide it we shouldn’t from him. We need all the love we can get from him in this world today.
What I think God is trying to tell me is that whatever we give in our faith that is what we will receive back from God, but if we give to God our best then he will give us his. GIve to God his due!
This passage told me to not hide from God and to follow him just like the apostles did too. I need to reference to God more and follow him.
What Jesus teaches us in today’s gospel message is how powerful he really is. His power is great then all he can see all, and he wants us to share it with everyone around us. He says those who have ears are to listen, those who are academically gifted are to use those to others benefit, physically gifted, etc. We are made to help people so let’s do it.
I can apply this to my life ,by trusting in God and being the light of the world. I know God is there, and can see everything I do. I just need to come forth and allow him to forgive me.
Today’s Scripture is telling us that we need to allow God into our lives instead of pushing him away we need to bring him closer into our everyday doings.
God can see everything no matter what it is. We can try to hide secrets from God but he will find out what we are keeping. Bring everything to God and he will help you with your struggles.
When Jesus says “Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket?” He is like sarcastically saying something like “Do you turn on the light just so you can put sunglasses on?” I think Jesus is being sarcastic whilst trying to explain that hey, i didn’t just come here so that you wouldn’t listen to me. He wants us to let his light shine, so that we can shine with him.
God is saying that we need to focus on him and the Eucharist and seek him out and not just wait thinking Jesus will come to us. We need to focus on God and not on the random things going on around us.
We cant hide anything from God. I can apply this to my life by praying for guidance. We should put God in the center of our lives.
I can apply this to my life by living for God everyday, and doing everything for him. God is very powerful and he means well.
Jesus is the light that shines through the darkness. He is the way that we need to follow to get to Heaven, because He sees everything that we do, think, hear, and say. He reveals the truth, which is the truth we have to follow to make it to the promise land.
I don’t really understand this passage but what I think God is trying to tell us is to not hide because he sees everything. Jesus is the light’ the truth, and the way he lights up the darkness.
We can’t hide our sins from God. It’s not something we can just ignore and push under the rug. God also gives to those you have given in their life. If we gives ourselves to help others, God will give us happiness and rejoice in the Kingdom of God.
In this passage Jesus says, “Whoever has ears ought to hear.” I think that means He is telling us to listen, and quite frankly, not just to Him. We should listen to anyone who could provide us with guidance, like our parents, teachers, and God as well. They don’t just teach us about our faith to talk. They are trying to help us grow closer to God and they are trying to teach us how to be good people. Even though it’s hard sometimes, you should always listen to the people who know whats best for you.
What I got from the passage was that God gave us ears to listen, eyes to see, and a mouth to speak. He wants us to use the gifts he has given us to get closer to him. We need to use our gifts to discover and to spread the word of God.
In this reflection i read that we need to know that Christ is our light. We sometimes don’t remember that and we forget about God. We forget about him by putting things over him, such as thinking that we don’t need to go to church. We have to remember that he is the reason that we are alive and why we are forgiven.
In this scripture Jesus is talking about a lamp, We are like the Lamp, when we do things that are against the commandments or wrong. Then we are covering the lamp with a basket or hiding it under the bed so that God won’t find us. When we do this we are turning away from God and the faith. We need to go on the lamp stand and show ourselves to God, to show him we are faithful to him. But we are not just showing ourselves to God, we are lighting the way for others so they might light their lamps for God and can show the way for others as well.
Jesus is the light of the world. We need to accept his light, and let it into our darkened hearts. When he have his light inside us, then we can let it shine out to the rest of the world, and we will not have to be afraid of the dark anymore.
God gave us our gifts. Whether they are physical or mental, we need to use them. If someone gave you a phone you wouldn’t just not use it. God has given us our gifts so we need to use them.
Jesus teaches us that He sees everything we do. We can’t try to hide things from him because God always knows the truth. We shouldn’t have to hide anything from God and if we do good things, we won’t have to.
We can’t hide anything from God, He sees everything. We are also a light in this world and we shouldn’t hide who we are and try to act different. We should be who God made us to be.
This scripture is telling me to keep God in the light and not cast him into the shadows.
Jesus says that we are not to hide our talents, that we need to share them with the world so that we can make it a better place.
In today’s scripture Jesus teaches us that we should share our gifts with the world. He said those that have ears need to listen, so we should use our gifts that Jesus gave to help others and not to hide the gifts that we were given for a reason.
Darkness is always there, whether we acknowledge it or not. God is the one thing that can push away this darkness. Each of us has our own problems or “darkness”, whether its something as small as not having a hair tie, or as big as the loss of a loved one or depression, we all struggle. Christ came to help us with our struggles. Christ will always be there, you just need to accept Him to truly see His light.
God wants us to share our Catholic faith with others, not hide it. Like in the song, “This Little Light of Mine”, we should let God’s Love shine. Often, we pretend that we can hide things from God and get away with them, but He always knows what you do, think, and say.
This passage shows us that Jesus is the light and the way. He shows us the way, and we need to follow Him. In the story there was this lamp, the lamp represents us. We are not faithful to God, and we need to start being faithful to him.
God gave us many gifts (including Himself), and He wants us to share them with others. It’d be a waste to just hide our talent and treasure. It is His will to share generously what He gave us.
This passage tells me to not be ashamed of my sins. You can never hide them from God. Jesus tells us to listen to his word. We should always put our trust in Him. We forget about God in our daily lives, and we need to acknowledge Him more. Love Him with our whole mind, heart, and soul.
This means to not hide our good things And show them to the world . This also means that God knows all.
God is our light and guide and He will be the one to show us the way to heaven if we just listen to Him. If we get distracted by objects or other things then we can never truly focus on God. Phones, Tv, Computers, etc. If we let those things get in our way then we can’t find our way to God.
Today’s gospel is saying to me, is the light of Christ hidden within me or is shining outwardly from me? Do I ask as if being a Christian makes me seem weak or does it make me seem strong? Am I being the light in other people’s darkness? It all comes to the two questions Who am I?, and What am I made for? If the Bible has the power to turn the world upside down, how much more powerful is Jesus Christ! How strong must be his followers! Let us show his light of life, peace, and love!
We need to learn to go to confession because if we have a really serious sin on our soul and we receive the Eucharist that’s another serious sin that God can judge us for in the end.
Today, Jesus says that he is the light. He is our light. The light that will save the world. He is everywhere like the suns light is everywhere, but only if you let him shine. If we let him shine we will do everything we do for him and with him.
We cannot get distracted from God by our cell phones. He is the only person that we need to make the center of our lives. We can’t get distracted by our phones, TV, computer, or other things. God always should come first.
This gospel shows us that there is no mediocre Catholic. You can’t do the minimum in your faith. If we do not give everything we are to God, we should ;not expect to be given eternal life in Heaven.
This is saying that we should listen to the word of God during mass or when we read the bible. We have to follow what God tells us to do. It also says how you judge other people is how you will be judged.
In the gospel they are referring the lamp to Jesus. It is saying that when Jesus (the lamp) is given to you, you are not supposed to tuck him away , but instead we have to use the lamp and pray to Jesus and use Him to help us when we are in need.
What God is trying to tell us today is that we need to respect each other. He is telling us that we need to look for God’s light in the world to save us from the devil. We need to be in God’s. We need to spread peace among the world as Catholics. As missionaries of God, we need to bring people into the church to show God’s light. We need to grow in his likeness and holiness.
What I am taking away from this passage is that we are all here for a reason. We are all meant for something. Meant to make an impact on this Earth. So we should put an effort into being heard.
In this Scripture passage, I think that we care about worldly things too much. We care about them so much that we are distracted by God, who is the most important thing we need. In the end, we won’t have anything we have on Earth and we will be judged by God.
Today jesus is teaching us that he see’s all things. We al need to take notice of that and remember to keep God in our lives . If we keep God in our lives then we will get even more closer to Him and to Heaven. God is watching over every single creation he made including all humans. We need to stay focused on our faith and don’t let little distractions get in the way of you and Jesus.
I can apply this to my life by listening to God and being thankful for the gifts he gave us. He is our light and savior.
God is telling us that we need to focus on him more than ourselves and other distractions. God wants us to go to heaven and the way to go to heaven is by praying and paying attention to God.
Jesus is the light that guides us. We need to trust in him and listen to him calling us. Let Him guide you and trust in Him.
This scripture is telling us that we need to put God into our lives on everything we do and go pray to him when we feel we need to and not push him away
Jesus is telling us to use are gifts and not hide them from others. We need to share are gifts with everyone and make each other better. I’m going to apply this to my life by using my gifts to get closer to Jesus.
Jesus is telling me that if you have ears you need to listen to God’s word in the Bible. We need to stop being distracted and just listen to God’s voice. We find God’s voice in the silence so we need to make time for silence in our daily lives.
today Gospel is telling me that we need to be closer to Jesus, listen to his words, so that is why we need to pray everyday and talk to God like he is our best friend.
I can apply this to my life by not being very spoiled and being thankful for what i have. I can also apply it by taking the lamp metaphor as a call to preach the gospel.
Jesus teaches us to know that he can see everything we do and that nothing can be hidden from him so we should stop trying to hiden in the darkness and step out into the light and face our own faults.
What I got from today’s gospel is that the Word of God should not be hidden. Jesus is telling us to be missionaries and spread the word of God.
There are a few things that I can take away from this scripture reading today. First. I think God is trying to tell me to not get attached to worldly desires. Another thing is that I should be more generous because Jesus said today, “To the one who has, more will be given;
from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
God is the way, he shines light on the path he wants us to take. We can choose to follow that path or go down the darker path the devil wants us to follow. If we trust and follow Jesus, he will light the way.
In today’s Gospel is saying he is the light of the world so we need to be the light to others. We need to share our gifts just like God shared his life with us so we can be on earth. We have to follow God’s footsteps into our life. Welcome him into our boat he is truly present and he is always watching so we should always be doing the right thing not the wrong that what Jesus wants from us. He loves us so much.
I can put this into my life by making God the light of my life. Wherever I go God will be with me.
Jesus is saying don’t purchase something precious and valuable just to hide it and collect dust. Jesus doesn’t want to hide from us, he wants to love us and be with us.
no matter what you do or where you are Jesus will always knows what your doing
I can apply this scripture passage to my life by allowing God to light the way for me. Jesus is the light of the world and we must go out and follow him.
God is the light of the world and if we don’t follow him we will be in darkness. We just have to follow and believe in God.
In today’s Gospel, I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that as children of God, we shouldn’t be hiding the fact that we are Catholics, but we should be going into the world, proclaiming the news the Jesus is risen, and it will light up everyone around us. I think that we should be proud to be Catholic, and we shouldn’t hide that from the world. Today’s society puts a bad connotation on Christianity. “How can you believe in something you can’t see,” “Why would you suffer on purpose,” “Well being Christian means you can’t have any fun.” Our society wants us to put a veil on our faith, but when we go out into the world, proclaiming the good news, and living as Christ would want us, we will light up the whole world.
This Scripture passage reminds me of how we are so little without God, and how we just focus on our phones, friends, and drama. God didn’t make us to sit around all day, he made us to spread the word, and GET TO HEAVEN! “The great Danger of this world is the society whose idols are pleasure, comfort and independence, lies in the fact that people close their hearts and become selfish.” -Pope John Paul II
This scripture tells us to follow God and listen to him. Even tho sometimes we may get distracted we still need to follow his ways.
I can put this toward my life knowing that Jesus will light the darkness. Jesus show us the way no matter how far we are. Jesus is leading our path to Heaven.
What I take away from the scripture today is that God can light up our world and cast away darkness. However, he can only do this if he is at the forefront of our lives, rather than being placed under a “basket”. God can only light up darkness for us if he is uncovered and close to us just like a lamp.
I can apply this to my life so I can hear God and listen. We will be judged by the light (God) and be fully present with him.
Jesus is our lamp. We can’t hide Him, or be embarrassed by Him. Through Jesus is how we are to live. He must be present in our lives so we can get to Heaven and evangelize others.
No matter where you are or what you do Jesus will always know what your doing. If your hiding in a room with the door locked and the shades puled Jesus can still see you even though you can’t see him.
Today, Jesus reveals to us, his beloved companions that we will be Measured of all our strengths and weaknesses with God. As a result, we must listen carefully to His word as christian disciples of Christ and strive to successfully live our lives humbly.
Today’s Gospel is telling me to not to hide Jesus in my life. He is the light of the world and takes away all darkness.
What ever happens to us in life, we must not get distracted from the task at hand (God). Even if it is very, VERY small, and the distracting thing is very, VERY shiny, we must look harder by tenfold to keep us on track.
God is the light of the world. We need to follow Him so we aren’t in the darkness. We have to follow and believe in the light of the world.
Jesus is the light and if we put him under a bushel bush we can’t see him, but if we put him on our lampstand everyone can see him. And I’m the light.
We need light to see, and God is trying to be our light to see him so we can follow him to heaven
Today Jesus asks people who he is. There are many answers to a question like this. Many are right because God is Everything, The King, The Lamb of God, Son of the Virgin Mary, etc. But we have to follow him and worship him if we think this, because if we just call him these names and don’t practice our faith and worship, then we don’t truly believe in God.
