Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“A good tree does not bear rotten fruit,
nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit.
For every tree is known by its own fruit.
For people do not pick figs from thornbushes,
nor do they gather grapes from brambles.
A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good,
but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil;
for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ but not do what I command?
I will show you what someone is like who comes to me,
listens to my words, and acts on them.

That one is like a man building a house,
who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock;
when the flood came, the river burst against that house
but could not shake it because it had been well built.
But the one who listens and does not act
is like a person who built a house on the ground
without a foundation.
When the river burst against it,
it collapsed at once and was completely destroyed.”  Lk 6:43-49

Jesus teaches us to be true to Him in Luke’s gospel today.  Our intentions are either good or evil.  Jesus probes our heart and knows it.  Have you really bought into Jesus’s message or are you still sitting on the fence?  Jesus requires us to make a choice, “You either gather with me or scatter” and “You are either with me or against me”.  There is no fence in Christianity.  He is who He says He is or He is not. He either resurrected or He didn’t.  He is either the Savior or not.  We must bring ourselves to God’s grace through the Sacraments, conquer self, carry our crosses, pray and follow Him daily and have good intentions in our heart, “for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.”

He then teaches us what happens when we come to Him in the Scriptures, reflect on His Word, and allow the Word to transform our thoughts and actions, “I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them”.  We will have great faith and not be shaken.  ”But the one who listens and does not act” will collapse and be completely destroyed.  We see this in our lives frequently with giving into temptation or our fallen human nature.  If we are not prepared, we fall easily.

Today’s challenge: start building your faith on solid ground, read the Word, reflect on it and put it into action

Be a servant, become a saint!
