“IF YOU KNOW ME, THEN YOU WILL ALSO KNOW MY FATHER.” JN 14:7-14

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said to Jesus,
“Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time
and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own.
The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me,
or else, believe because of the works themselves.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes in me will do the works that I do,
and will do greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.” JN 14:7-14

Philip is asking Jesus to show the disciples (humans) a visible manifestation of God. Jesus replies, “Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?” Jesus is revealing that He is one with the Father. They are connected by love. We must also understand that since God the Father “created us in His image and likeness”, we are all connected in God by love.

We are God’s handiwork and never unloved or alone. Think about that for a second. Now try to keep it on your mind all throughout the day. It will change the way you see things and the way you will treat those God puts in your life each day. God is love and He created you never to be unloved or alone, ever! No matter how many times you sin or how big the sin is, His grace is bigger. He is the Father of the prodigal son waiting to welcome you back. Love always wins!

Today’s challenge: Remind yourself all throughout the day that you are connected to the Creator by love and so is every person you meet today. We are all connected. This should transform our relationships and the way we treat one another.
