Jesus says, “If the world hates you, realize it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world the world hates you.” Jn 15:18-21

This is a tough teaching because we all have a need to fit in and belong right now in this world. This is what I have said over and over, we have been called to be in relationship. In communion with God. This also teaches not to get attached to earthly things. This is very difficult in the technological age. Today’s Responsorial Psalm says, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand.” Col 3:1

Jesus wants us to be with the Father in heaven and that is what the Father desires: to be reunited with His creation. If we want to be a saint, we must pray and keep ours eyes and heart on things above persistently. We must surround ourselves with people that do the same because who your friends are is who you will become. Then, we must realize some will not accept us or Christ’s divine revelation, the Truth. We must be ready to fight! The interesting thing is many times we will find that we are fighting against ourselves. Since you are baptized, you are called to a higher calling! Embrace it, Christ will be with you and has conquered this world. He will help you do the same. Believe and love!

Become a saint!
